Favorite Black-Owned Makeup Brand
During Black Friday I made my first purchase of Danessa Myricks Beauty and it has changed my makeup game! I picked up a bunch of different products to really try out everything the brand has to offer and here's my thoughts. DANESSA MYRICKS BEAUTY - Illuminating Veil is a beautiful glow product! It's super versatile and is literally liquid glow. I used it as a primer, but it can be mixed into other products like foundation or layered over top as a highlight. As a primer I liked that it dried down completely because that meant it didn't add any extra oil that my combo skin doesn't need! DANESSA MYRICKS BEAUTY - Vision Cream Cover is my new favorite base. It's super full coverage and blends out really easily. A little goes a really long way and it completely covered up all my hyperpigmentation. DANESSA MYRICKS BEAUTY - Vision Flush has also taken over the number one spot as my favorite liquid blush! Super blendable and buildable. You won't end up with clown cheeks but can definitely build up the color! DANESSA MYRICKS BEAUTY - Luxe Cream Palette another versatile product! This palette can be used all over the face and is super creamy. It isn't as pigmented as the Vision Flush, but gives more glow. I like to layer this over the top of Vision Flush and use this on the lips. DANESSA MYRICKS BEAUTY - Dew Wet Balm is exactly what it sounds like, a dewy balm that leaves the skin looking wet. I didn't think I would like this but I love it. It's a super thin balm and isn't sticky or gross at all (that’s what I expected). It doesn’t move the foundation or anything it’s layered over. Serious game changer. It am has zero pigment so I layer this over powder highlights, liquid highlighter or wear it alone! The brand is created by a pro makeup artist and the products are definitely made with that in mind, but I don’t think it’s too intimidating for the average makeup wearer! Everything lasts for hours, blends out beautifully and performs like it should! I think whether your getting this for your kit or your vanity it is top notch!

November Empties! ⚡️
Here's a super quick look at all the products I finished this month! Check out whether I would repurchase or not in the video and a quick review of each product below: LA ROCHE-POSAY - Lipikar Baume AP+M Body Balm - the best body lotion for dry, itchy skin! I swear by this and keep a backup ready at all times. It's unscented, super thiccc and last for 24 hours on my body. BIODERMA - Atoderm Shower Oil - another body favorite!! This huge size is less than $20 and lasted me for 6 months. It's great for dry, itchy skin because it's an oil with little foam so super hydrating while still cleansing the skin. #Undefined Beauty - Glow Detox[products]#[ThreeStars] - good bath salts, I didn't notice any CBD benefits so I wouldn't repurchase. They smelled great though! #PFB - Vanish[products]#[FourStars] - is a roll on treatment to prevent ingrown hairs. I prefer the Chromabright formula because it has added skin brightening and repurchase that over this. #Bijou Candles - Hermione[products]#[FiveStars] - smells like cedar and thyme! It's perfect for the holidays! #Sunday Forever - Nice Candle[products]#[FiveStars] - another perfect holiday candle! Smells like cinnamon and is a bit spicy! #Dehv Candles - Spice[products]#[FiveStars] - again, it's perfect for the holidays! The concrete vessel is beautiful/reusable. I use them as makeup brush holders! OLAPLEX - No. 0 Intensive Bond Building Hair Treatment Kit - really like this, it's not holy grail like the N°3 treatment but is almost as good! QHEMET BIOLOGICS - Castor & Moringa Softening Serum - super smoothing, not heavy and didn't weigh down my curls! BeautyStat COSMETICS - Universal C Skin Refiner - I've raved about this vit c a bunch! My favorite and lasted my ages without oxidizing!!! PETER THOMAS ROTH - Pro Strength Niacinamide Discoloration Treatment - This is a MUST in my routine for hyperpigmentation! LORD JONES - Acid Mantle Repair CBD Moisturizer love this moisturizer! Great for all skin types, super soothing and thick but not too heavy! It didn't make me produce more oil. BIOLOGIQUE RECHERCHE - Creme Placenta - great for acne prone and hyperpigmentation prone skin! I used this at night and saw really great results in the overall brightening of my skin and healing of acne. VICHY - Aqualia Thermal Water Gel Face Moisturizer with Hyaluronic Acid - this was great for warmer months as it isn't heavy but is super moisturizing. If you have dry skin try the cream version instead! #BLOOMEFFECTS - Royal Tulip Nectar[products]#[FourStars] - I liked this more than expected! It's thick like Vaseline and kept my skin hydrated all night e.l.f. - 16HR Camo Concealer - hated this! It lifted the foundation underneath and felt/looked so dry!

My Favorite Hydrogel Sheet Mask
This new sheet mask from Zitsticka has quickly become a favorite of mine! I don't usually reach for sheet masks because I prefer wash of masks, but this is the exception. It's an exfoliating mask made for breakout-prone skin that treats breakouts, the dark spots they leave behind and hydrate! Here's what's in it: Salicylic acid clears dirt and debris from the pores glycolic acid smoothes texture without compromising your barrier lactic acid smoothes texture and brightens the skin niacinamide soothes redness and irritation hyaluronic acid hydrates the skin allantoin extracts impurities while retaining hydration and elasticity The mask is super cooling and soothing on and because it's hydrogel it doesn't slip all over your face. It's a one-and-done product so once you're done apply moisturizer and your routine is finished! The #Zitsticka - Press Refresh[products]#[FourStars] comes with 5 sheet masks in a pack and retails for $36.
Super Blendable Cream Face Palette
I've been using the alleyoop - Stack the odds multi-use face palette lately and LOVE how blendable all the creams are! It has a bronzer, blush and highlight shade and comes in three different options. I have Sunkissed which I think would be great for light and medium skin tones. I use my finger to apply and blend out the shades, but have also used a dense fluffy brush which worked really well. Each shade is pigmented and buildable, blends like a dream and stays on really well for cream products!

Quick and Easy Halloween Hair Tutorial 🐭
I love Halloween! I love the decorations and the candy of course, but I don't love taking hours to get ready! Every year my costume is quick, easy and made using things I already have lying around. This year is now different, I'm going as a cute mouse and only needed 1 product for this hair look, the scünci - No Damage Elastics Brown ! I have super curly, shoulder length hair and did this style on second day hair. The only product that is in it is the CURLSMITH - Curl Defining Styling Souffle . It has strong hold and gives great definition. I applied on soaking wet hair and let my hair air dry. It's been slept on and gone through an intense workout, I didn't break the cast in order to wear it as long as possible! These mouse ears are super easy to do and will work for all hair types! You could also play around with the shape of the buns are create bunny or cat ears! For a classic mouse look go for a higher bun and add some volume to them! Here's how I did the mouse ears: 1. Section the hair in half with a middle part. 2. Using a hair tie create a pig tail on one side, you can choose the placement but because my hair is shorter I went with a side placement. 3. Add a matching pig tail to the other side! 4. Using your third hair tie create a fun bun! Since my hair is curly I didn't need to pull out any pieces but I love the messy look! 5. Do the same to the other side. 6. You can stop here and your done! OR add some fun accessories like sparkly clips and bobby pins! Have a safe and fun Halloween! I'll be posting a makeup tutorial for this look soon! 🐭❤️ #CheriePartner

Prebiotics in Skincare? Do We Need Them?
Our skin has its own microbiome and when it's out of whack we can experience things like acne, eczema and psoriasis! A microbiome is a particular environment of microorganisms. So how can we keep our microbiome healthy? With prebiotics and probiotics! Prebiotics and probiotics applied topically are similar to the type we ingest! The goal of adding them to our skincare routine is to support our microbiome by feeding the healthy bacteria. A healthy microbiome is key to healthy skin! I support my microbiome by taking prebiotics and probiotics and applying them topically! My favorite skincare product with prebiotics is the LANCÔME - Advanced Génifique Youth Activating Serum ! Its active ingredients are Bifidus Prebiotic, hyaluronic acid, vitamin C and ceramides - all ingredients your skin is going to love! I love it because it's hydrating and brightening, but it's still maintaining my microbiome. The texture is a thicker liquid and sinks is very quickly. It doesn't feel heavy and doesn't clog my pores! Have you tried prebiotics or probiotics? What are your thoughts on products that have them? #CheriePartner

My favourite cleanser
Allies of Skin - Molecular Silk Amino Hydrating Cleanser It is a pretty amazing cleanser with a pH of 5.5. It is a blend of Antioxidants, Phospholipids, Green tea, White tea, Lactic Acid and Hydrators like Silk Amino Acids, Hyaluronic Acid, Organic Safflower + Moringa Oil. It is sulfate free, no silicones, no drying alcohols, no dyes. It works to restore a dull complexion with a brighter, smoother and more refreshed look. It has no added fragrance and I like the natural mild scent of the cleanser. It is for all skin type This is a very gentle cleanser with a jelly like texture and doesn’t strip my skin. It gently removes dirt, grime and make-up and my skin never feels tight or dry. I really like that it has ingredients which hydrate the skin along with cleansing it. My face feels fresh, clean and soft. I have been using this for more than a month. I am loving this cleanser and it has become my favourite cleanser too. The price is $38 for 100 ml and it is worth it. I highly recommend this cleanser, it is gentle and effective.

The Ordinary - saviour of my acne
I am a huge fan of the ordinary. I've used many of their products, from serum to primer to this facial peel. I bought this last month and have been using it since then. I have combo oily skin with a severe acne problem.😢 That's why I bought this product. It claims that this is for normal, combo and oily skin type, and focuses on blemishes, fine lines and wrinkles, and dullness and uneven texture. I bought this from Sephora and it only cost me $7.2! Most amazingly, it did help improve my skin in terms of acne! What a steal! I usually use it at night, apply it on my cleaned, dry face, and rinse it after 10 minutes. It doesn't burn at all. I don't know if it is suitable for sensitive skin, but I don't feel my skin irritated at all. I felt my skin glowing instantly and my acne did fade a bit after only one use. So now I use it all the time when I find even only one small pimple on my face. It works sooooo well that usually my pimple just disappears next morning. It's exactly that amazing! 💕 Highly recommend this to anyone who has the same concern. But be cautious if you've got sensitive or dry skin.

My Simple Ritual
I’ve been debating whether or not to post something like this, but maybe it’ll help individuals with a similar skin type and similar needs. My skin is very sensitive and slightly on the dry side. It is reactive, meaning that acne can pop up easily, and my sensitivity can get worse, depending on the products that I’m using. My main goal is to keep things simple, while also making sure I’m using effective products. In my opinion, a solid routine/ritual should include 5 steps: cleansing, exfoliating, treating, moisturizing, and protecting. Cleanse 🧼: Fresh’s “Soy Face Cleanser” is the star of this category. It’s so gentle, filled with skin-loving goodies, and leaves skin feeling clean. I can honestly say that it’s the only cleanser I’ve tried that doesn’t leave me feeling dry. I don’t wash my face in the morning, I simply use water. Skin can become damaged from over-washing. Exfoliate ✨: For this step, Foreo’s “Luna Mini 2” is quite the handy tool. After massaging the cleanser on my face with my hands, I’ll go in with this guy and get all the dead skin and other nasties off; while also getting a deeper massage. By using this product, I don’t feel the need to use acid-infused products. They’ve never worked for me! This is also great because it’s antimicrobial and you don’t need to buy new brush heads! Tip: use this to gently exfoliate your lips. Works wonders! Treat 🧪: I feel it’s very necessary to have a treatment, depending on what one’s skin is craving. The “First Care Activating Serum” from Sulwhasoo is quite the multitasker. It balances, tones, and assists with anti-aging, while also acting as an essence. So glad I discovered this. This also smells GREAT. Moisturize 💦: I’m not conventional when it comes to typical, cream or gel moisturizers. In fact, I’ve never used one that didn’t end up breaking me out. So, instead, I use face oils. The Herbivore “Phoenix Cell Regenerating Face Oil” has been a godsend. It’s loaded with fantastic oils that are great for repairing and keeping skin hydrated, plump, and toned. It’s also been working a lot better since I incorporated the Sulwhasoo serum into my routine. Protect 🕶: Lastly, we have Krave Beauty’s “The Beet Shield.” This was a total game changer for me. I hated wearing sunscreens prior to discovering this! This protects skin, doesn’t break me out, is filled with antioxidants, the list could go on and on. Also, it washes off very easily. If you loathe sunscreens, please try this! You will not regret it. So there you have it! That’s my simple ritual. Of course, it could be more simple. One could cut out the Foreo brush and the Sulwhasoo serum. But for me, personally, I feel there would be gaps in my routine without them. I also need to mention that finding products that can multitask is great. It can take steps out of one’s routine and save money, too! Although I tryout a lot of products, these are here to stay! I’ve seen such an improvement in my skin since using these.

Atelier Cologne Beautemoji 🍊
atelier Cologne - Collection Azur – Mandarine Glaciale PRODUCT With notes of mandarin orange, lemon, lime, ginger, jasmine, petitgrain, vetiver, oak moss, and white amber, this is a more mature version of your classic citrus scent. I chose the citrus emoji because this scent evokes that classic citrus scent that I love so much. OPINION I personally really love this scent and find it to be the perfect way to maintain my love for citrus scents at night or even during the winter, when you may not want to use such a fresh scent. I think that many people may find that this scent may lean a bit masculine, but I personally like that and if I ever want to tone that down, I mix it with a bit of their Clementine California cologne, which I think is Mandarin Glaciale’s sweeter, fresher little sister. This perfume is a big win for me, from the simple packaging to the scent. I highly recommend it and think it merits the price tag. I give it 5/5 stars! Unfortunately it seems that this scent is no longer available through Sephora or the brand’s website so I will be using it sparingly from now on!

This is my Milk Collection - Foundation Review
I picked up the Milk flex foundation stick in Creme and I cannot stop using it. It glides onto the skin and melts and blends in really beautifully with a sponge. When I apply a decent powder on top it stays in place all day, but will separate pretty badly on its own. The colour match is spot on and doesn’t cover up any glow that my skincare and primer provide! I’m not so sure about the skincare benefits, but my acne prone skin tells me that it’s good for those who are sensitive!! I’m going to keep this for travel as it’s so tiny and non liquid. I highly recommend using the hydro grip primer with it too! Milk MAKEUP - Flex Foundation Stick Milk MAKEUP - Hydro Grip Primer
