Buy this not that! Mousse for curly hair!

I have typically straight hair but I have noticed some natural waves in my hair (2a-2c) so I decided to try some curly girl method approved products and see what I can do with my hair! I like using mousse because it is so lightweight! Since I have thin hair with low density I can’t use heavy products because it’ll get weighed down and the curls won’t come through as nicely. The Pantene mousse is really good for drugstore! It comes out thick and disperses into the hair (I usually use the glazing technique). PANTENE - Pro-V Curl Mousse to Tame Frizz for Soft and Touchable Curls
When I do the curly curl method styling I usually do gel-mousse-gel which will help create a caste on my waves. This mousse has a nice scent, is easy to work with, is CGM approved, and has a good hold to it too!! I recommend this one! The L’Oréal mousse L'ORÉAL - Advanced Hairstyle Curve It Elastic Curl Mousse
is okay. It is not CGM approved, so that is one thing to keep in mind. I find the scent slightly overwhelming in this one and actually find the formula to be a bit sticky. When it comes to hold as well I don’t find this one gives me as much as the Pantene! Hope this helps! 🖤 #cheriepartner

kalen.lovesYes definitely! Mousse is so lightweight so I don’t think it would effect those with oily hair that much

Rate my hair care routine for my curly/wavy hair
So I have been trying to mess with my hair routine to better define my curls. I have curly/wavy hair, more like beach curls is what my fam said..I am new to hair care so would love some tips on how to better define my curls more. Here’s what I currently use. I was about 2-3 times per week depending if I swam or not. I live in a hot/dry climate and love to swim when I can for exercise REDKEN - Extreme Shampoothis is new to my mix and bought during ultas jumbo sale. So far I notice nothing different to what I used before but it doesn’t seem to make it worse so still deciding. I use a handheld hair scrub I found on amazon to wash my hair and love how it got rid of my dandruff just from using a new tool REDKEN - All Soft Conditioner I was using this with its shampoo but ran out of the shampoo..loved the two together because I felt my hair getting softer and silkier with each use. May end up going back to this set if I don’t find something better for my hair SheaMoisture - Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Shine Masque Packette I use this once a week in the shower and it does make a difference but I think it weighs down my hair too much so looking for recommendations! DevaCurl - WAVE MAKER Touchable Texture Whip I love to use this product to help define my curls more but wish it wasn’t so expensive so I took out one star. I use about a quarter size in my hair when wet and doesn’t weigh it down ogx - Nourishing Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage Serum I use this after my hair has dried and so far I really love this stuff! I notice the frizz decreasing and it doesn’t weigh my hair down. I was using Paul Mitchell’s skinny serum but that’s so expensive I found something else to help but at a better price and so far it’s great! Batiste - Bastie Dry Shampoo love this for days 2-3 on my roots. I can see a big difference and don’t see myself getting a different kind ever! It cleans up my roots and I never see any residue or white powder look after I rub the product in. PANTENE - Pro-V Curl Mousse to Tame Frizz for Soft and Touchable Curls I have had this mousse for years and a friend with curly hair said to use a mousse to help hold my curls better..once this is empty I need to find something better to hold my curls without the crunchy feeling. I am trying to find better ways to hold my curls and get the curls more near the roots. I didn’t realize till recently that my hair was so curly so I just brushed it before and threw it up till I figured out what my hair was really about. So I’m new to curly hair care and would love tips and affordable recommendations on products! Thanks!!

Sleek+Straight; Best Styles for Oval Face Shape
Sleek+Straight; Best Styles for Oval Face Shape
My face shape has always been a cross between oval & round; I have found that one of the most flattering styles for my shape is sleek and straight. Here’s the steps I take to achieve shiny, sleek, healthy looking hair that frames my face and helps to slim down the roundness👇🏻 My hair is naturally straight and is fine in texture. While my natural colour is blonde, it is also colour-treated (bleached) throughout. 1️⃣ I started with day-old, air-dried hair; first I sprayed in the eva·nyc - Mane Magic 10-in-1 Primer to protect my strands from the heat of my flat iron and prime it for styling. This spray is a very fine mist and works great to prep the hair for heat styling (my only con is that it’s very strongly perfume scented). 2️⃣ Next I ran my eva·nyc - Spectrum Far-Infrared Styling Iron through my hair, concentrating on the hair around my face to make sure it was evenly sleek and not frizzy. Personally, I only flat iron my hair from just above my ears down because I find if I flat iron the roots it leaves my hair too flat and without any volume. 3️⃣ Last, I misted on some of my KEVIN.MURPHY - Shimmer Me Blonde which is a shine-enhancing spray made for blondes, with violet-hued reflects to tone out brassiness (they have one for brunettes/redheads too!). I love this stuff, it feels nourishing but light and makes my hair shiny without being greasy. Honestly, it’s a super simple look but I always feel a little bit glam when I go for sleek + straight locks - it feels so timeless. Hope you enjoyed!!💁🏼‍♀️🤍

Dealing with curly, thick, dry hair...
Dealing with curly, thick, dry hair...
Hi friends! I have had thick, curly, dry hair for my whole life. Bleaching it definitely added to the dryness and frizziness! Because my hair is so dry, I NEVER use hot tools on it, nor do I ever blow dry. Air drying is key for this hair type—especially if you have a wall of dense, thick hair like me! When air drying, first I’ll let my hair chill after the shower for about an hour (towel drying is NOT a thing with thick hair lmaooo) so my roots are less damp but my ends are still soaked. Then, I’ll take a quarter sized amount of a curl styling cream (today I’m using the Briogeo - Curl Charisma Rice Amino + Avocado Leave–In Defining Cream — it is so good for my curls and inexpensive) and finger comb it through my hair. This prevents tangles and knots from forming. Then, to make sure the product is evenly dispersed i will wet my hands with water and finger comb back through. To keep my hair out of my face while it’s air drying, I’ll usually clip or pin it back with bobby pins. 24 hours later through the humidity my hair is less frizzy than it should be, but the leave in curl cream is still in there so you can refresh your curls by finger combing again with wet hands! This cream lets me have my hair styled like this for the whole week before I wash again! What’s your main tip for thick, frizzy, curly hair?

How I “Plop”/Air Dry My Wavy/Curly Hair w/ pics!
How I “Plop”/Air Dry My Wavy/Curly Hair w/ pics!
Do you have naturally curly or wavy hair? What about cults/waves that you've been taming with heat tools for years? Want to improve your curl/wave pattern over time? This is for you! About my hair: thick, long, some layers, curly/wavy,dry What you'll need: •100% cotton t-shirt •Leave-in conditioner •Curl cream, gel, mousse, etc (whatever you prefer) •Patience, because this takes a while! I've included a numbered pictorial so you can follow along, but please note that each numerical label isn't necessarily its own step. Some are just additional angles. This method is part of the “curl girl” method and is called “plopping ". "Plopping" with cotton gently removes moisture while reducing frizz and helping natural patterns look more defined. Steps: 1. Start with freshly washed hair. Squeeze your hair with your towel a few times until it's no longer dripping wet. No more towel after this. 2. Scrunch hair with your cotton t-shirt for about 15-20 seconds. 3. Use your fingers to apply a leave-in conditioner, or if your leave-in is a spray, just spray it and finger comb through. 4. Scrunch hair with t-shirt again. Your hair should no longer be super wet. 5. Apply your preferred curl or wave product and make sure to disperse throughout your hair starting with your ends. 6. Use your hands to scrunch. Flip head upside down and continue to scrunch. 7. Lay your t-shirt on a flat, clean surface (I use my bed). The neck should face towards you. 8. Gather all of your hair with your head up aside down as if making a ponytail and place in the center of the t-shirt. 9. Fold the bottom portion of the t-shirt onto itself, then take that folded section up over your hair towards your neck. Your forehead should be touching the neck of the t-shirt. 10. Use 1 hand to hold the shirt in place while taking each sleeve and tying them together. You will need to switch your hands during this step. The tie should sit low on your head. 11. Leave hair in shirt 20-30 min (depending on hair thickness). 12. Take hair out of shirt, flip over, part with fingers or comb (if desired, but don't comb anything else!!), and air dry. My hair takes about 3-4 hours to fully dry post-"plop". If you want to use a hair oil, use it before wrapping your hair. Products I used: KRISTIN ESS - Ultra Hydrating Curl Leave-In Cream and IGK - Rich Kid Coconut Oil Gel . There are good YouTube videos out there to learn more if you are wanting to learn more about this method!

It’s always a good day when I can add a new IGK product into my routine! They just came out with the IGK - Good Behavior 4-in-1 Prep Spray which I knew I was going to buy as soon as I could as I’m a HUGE fan of the original Good Behavior. Let me tell you, I’m already in love with this product. IGK claims this 4-in-1 prep spray detangles hair, protects against heat, controls frizz, and enhances shine. It’s lightweight, hydrates, and is safe for color treated hair. It’s great for all hair types and it costs $27 for 7 oz of product. Off the bat this stuff smells amazing! If you’re familiar with the original Good Behavior Spray it smells just like that. I use this on hair wash days after I get out of the shower. I usually wrap my hair up in a towel for a few minutes and when it’s about halfway dry and I’m ready to put products in I spray this all over. It has a non aerosol spray that evenly distributes the product over the hair. It’s very lightweight! It doesn’t weigh my hair down at all. I think it did a pretty good job detangling my hair as well as it’s usually pretty wavy and messy. When I woke up my natural curls were pretty enhanced. My hair looked lively and healthy! It’s probably the best my hair has looked in a really long time (I’m really attributing it to this and I started using a mint Keracolor clenditioner which is amazing). I came home from my shift about 9 hours later and I was amazed with how soft my hair was. It felt like I had just left the hair dressers. I don’t think it did much for my frizz as I did have some fly aways but I have fly aways no matter what so that didn’t bother me. What made me really happy was that my hair finally looked healthy, shiny, and pretty. I totally recommend this product to anyone looking for a good leave in. I love the results this gave my hair and how it ended up looking in the morning. I totally think it’s worth it. #CheriePartner

Hair Spray, HAIR STAY!
Hair Spray, HAIR STAY!
Two of my favorite hair sprays RIGHT NOW: JOHN FRIEDA - Frizz Ease Moisture Barrier Firm Hold Hair Spray John Freda Moisture Barrier - Firm Hold This hair spray is designed to form a barrier around each hair strand to help seal out moisture and prevent frizz. Formula enhances hair's shine and also contains a sunscreen to help protect against UV rays. Now it does have alcohol in it which I usually frown upon because that isn’t great for the hair but I have yet to find a film hold hair spray that actually also has all of the benefits this one does without the alcohol Denat. So sometimes I make exceptions to my rules. I love using this spray both at home and at work and often helps maintain curl/style all throughout the day with out needing to recurl. ingredients: Alcohol Denat., Hydrofluorocarbon 152A, Octylacrylamide/Acrylates/Butylaminoethyl Methacrylate Copolymer, Aminomethyl Propanol, Triethyl Citrate, Pentaerythrityl Tetracaprylate/Tetracaprate, Quaternium-52, PEG/PPG-20/15 Dimethicone, Ampisostearoyl Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Fragrance. drybar - The Sheriff Medium Hold Hairspray The Dry Bar- The Sheriff- Medium Hold For a style that I need to be able to change up or just want to be able to brush through, this hairspray is great. Again, it does have Alcohol Denat in it which can be drying to the hair but I try not to use it so often that its actually damaging to my hair. Sometimes I use the medium hold spray pre curling to help insure I get the texture I am looking for. Section the hair, brush it out, spray, curl, let set, and brush through once all curled. Then If I want to keep that style ALL DAY I hit it lightly with the Firm Hold. Alcohol Denat., Hydrofluorocarbon 152A, Octylacrylamide/Acrylates/Butylaminoethyl Methacrylate Copolymer, Aminomethyl Propanol, Parfum (Fragrance), Panthenol, Cyperus Esculentus Root Oil, Phytantriol, Prunus Insititia Seed Oil, Rhodiola Rosea Root Extract, Citrus Junos Seed Extract, Butylene Glycol, Pentylene Glycol, Acetyl Triethyl Citrate, Glycerin, Octyldodecyl Ricinoleate, Aqua (Water, Eau), PEG/PPG-17/18 Dimethicone, Phenyl Trimethicone, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, BHT, Linalool, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Eugenol.
