How I do my nailcare/paint my nails!

kalen.loves
I have recently fell in love with nail polish and nail care! I look forward to doing my nails every week. I was a nail biter all my life until this year. I am always focused on strengthening my nails. I’ve been loving Essie’s gel couture line! This nail look is a shimmery champagne color—“Last Nightie”
First I always start by doing my cuticles.
I never realized how important taking care of your cuticles is and the benefit it does to your overall nail health. I remove my cuticles/push them back once a week using BLUE CROSS - Cuticle Remover
This makes removing the cuticles SO easy. Within a few seconds they basically soften up/dissolve so they are easily pushed around the sides of the nail and top of the nail. I use a metal cuticle pusher but I make sure to be extremely gentle when using this! (I got mine from amazon) but this is basically the same thing!ULTA BEAUTY - Cuticle Pusher
Next, I file my nails to create a shape I want, then I wash my hands. Finally I use GOLD BOND - Ultimate Intensive Healing Hand Cream
and PEACH & LILY - Pure Beam Luxe Oil
before painting my nails.
Now I apply my base coat and recently I’ve been using#Pink Armor - Nail Gel[products]# I got mine from amazon. It basically acts as a strengthening bond on your nails. This may not be the best option for nail health, but like I have stated. I needed all the help I could get since my nails were SO flimsy and thin at first. I do think this stuff has helped significantly!
Finally I apply 2-3 coats of my polish and apply my gel couture top coat! This polish line is SO good.
Happy nail care 💅

DRY CUTICLE SOS: 3 TOP TIPS
My cuticles are taking a beating lately - specially at this time where we’re washing our hands and using alcohol-based hand sanitizers more than ever. However, it doesn’t have to stay that way - here are my three top tips for cuticle care. TIP 1: DON’T CUT THEM Instead of cutting your cuticles when doing an at-home manicure, use a cuticle remover and gently push back any sticky skin on your nails. This ensures that technically there’s less cuticle to get dry while still keeping them looking smooth and tidy. It also reduces the likely hood of a cuticle infection if you cut them wrongly. The only thing I recommend cutting is any large, dead pieces of skin or hangnails. Do this every two weeks. BLUE CROSS - Cuticle Remover NICKAK - Cuticle Nipper Single ULTA BEAUTY - Cuticle Pusher TIP 2: USE CUTICLE OIL Like our hair, our nails and the cuticle benefit from using moisturizing cuticle oil. They help to soften the skin around the nail to prevent hangnails from forming! Cuticle oils also help strengthen your nails to grow longer and stronger. Use a cuticle oil at least once a day! TIP 3: USE HAND CREAM This is one of the easiest things to do to take care of cuticles - use a hand cream every time after using a hand sanitizer. Repeated use of alcohol on skin can be very drying, and it’s important to replenish it ASAP! Using a hand cream right after helps to reduce the drying effect of alcohol on your cuticles and hands in general. NIVEA - Refreshingly Soft Moisturizing Creme Here’s a roundup: EVERY TWO WEEKS: Push Back Cuticles EVERY DAY: Use Cuticle Oil AS OFTEN AS YOU WANT: Use Hand Cream

My Tips to Grow Healthy Nails!
First off, I would like to pay myself on the back. I am 24 years old and have been a nail biter since my childhood. This year I made a New Years resolution to stop biting my nails. Since having short nails from biting my whole life my main objective was to create strength in my nails because they were so thin & flimsy from not ever being grown out before. First thing I did. Started taking biotin! This not only helps strengthen nails, but helps my skin & hair as well. This is a 5,000 mcg dose so it is significant to your daily intake. Always check for dosage and make sure you are consistent! Since I’ve been a nail biter seeing the “white” part of my nail growth is triggering. So when I see it, I want to bite them. For this reason for the first few months I constantly had polish on my nails to help break my obsession with biting. Now that my habit is virtually gone (YAY ME) I take week long breaks in between my polish!! It helps give your nails time to breath and to take the time to give your nails/nail bed some extra nourishment. For nourishing my nails I use GOLD BOND - Ultimate Intensive Healing Hand Cream and LUSH - Lemony Flutter every night before bed. The hand cream is thick but not too thick, it absorbs nicely and doesn’t leave any stickiness or heaviness on the hands. The cuticle butter is VERY rich and thick. A very small amount is needed for each nail/cuticles and I focus/massage it in for a few minutes each night. It has beeswax, Shea butter, and avocado oil in it for growing healthy nails! Remember cuticle care is important! I’ve also been using the PEACH & LILY - Pure Beam Luxe Oil for a cuticle oil each night and throughout the day sometimes to give my cuticles some extra love. This oil has squalane, jojoba, camellia, grapeseed, and sea buckthorn oils. It is surprising easily absorbed! I really love this oil for my cuticles. (I have oily acne prone skin so I don’t typically use face oils very much—so I repurposed and used it for my cuticles instead). If you have been/are a nail biter, you know how hard it is to quit! You just have to get in the right mindset and continue working to break your habit. 👏🏻🤍

Fight off environmental stressors
PEACH & LILY - Matcha Pudding Antioxidant Cream Moisturiser for all skin types alert! This is a lightweight moisturiser! Helps fight the signs of aging and the stressors that cause damage on skin. I have irritated skin from the weather all the time and bad allergies and this cream has turned my routine into a pleasant one. PEACH & LILY - Pure Beam Luxe Oil I like using this with the pure beam luxe oil (on my earlier posts) from the same brand to create a more moisturising feel. Thus overnight keeps my face hydrated and not oily.

Many people have passion for nail art and design but ignore nail care. Nail care at home = $31.5 💗💗
Nail care at home = $31.5 💗💗
I'm a nail DIY fans! The day will show you what basic tool is suitable for beginners. The products in the photo are all my all preparation for nail care 🌟Nail clippers: I prefer the big size. It's convenient and time saving. $6.99 🌟Tweezers: for exfoliating scrub. The shape of the tweezers is similar to scissors. Top is so thin that he can cover the corners of our nails. $6.99 🌟Nail file: It can be used to shape and polish nails. $0.49 🌟Brushes: I have different sizes’ brushes, and these two are the ones I use most often. After using the nail file, I will use a stiff brush first, then a soft brush to remove any particles that have been polished off. $6.99 🌟Base coat: A good Base Coat can make your nails look healthy and bright! $9.99 💗Total expenses: $31.5

Is this the best Soft Pink nail polish? 🤔
Is this the best Soft Pink nail polish? 🤔
I remember a long time ago I would only wear bright nail polish colors - greens, blues, purples, AND sparkle shades! Do not get me wrong I still love me some good blue and green moments, however I do go for light pastel shades in those family colors. Now as a “mature grown professional 👀,” lol I wanted to find more light and soft vibrant colors. Enter what I think may be the BEST SOFT PINK nail polish color ... drum roll please for OPI - Hello Kitty Nail Lacquer Collection in shade “Let’s be Friends!” And you know what, I do want to be friends with this nail polish because it has not betrayed me once! 🎀 I love Hello Kitty 🐱 and I love soft pink shades so this was the color for me! I first saw this shade last Christmas at Ulta and I finally picked it up in January around my birthday! I was able to pick it up for under $5.00 with the use of my Ulta points 🙌🏼. It’s such a lovely shade if you want to have the best of both worlds with pink and white nail polish family! When I use this nail polish I actually apply three coats to each nail to ensure the color pay off lasts a while! The first picture is my nails a FULL WEEK after my application! As you can see, the chipping is minimal and the color is popping in the sun light! The only con is that I think this nail polish was only available for the holiday season but I am certain there must be another shade similar to this one in their permanent line of nail colors! I do use a top coat over my nail color to ensure it’s lasting even longer and that is the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Top Coat. I believe I have reviewed it before along with my Essie nail polish. If not, expect a review soon! This is one of this shades that will work well on ALL complexions and it’s been my go to summer color when I’m not using my Essie Bikini so Teeny 💙. Let me know if you rock this color too or if you find it available at some other store ( I would love a back up 🤣).

💅💅💅DIY Matte Nail Polish: Cheapskate Success or Beautiful Disaster?
💅💅💅DIY Matte Nail Polish: Cheapskate Success or Beautiful Disaster?
I love matte nail polish and used to make it in salon. Last week, I decided to try it out at home. I sucessfully made it!! Now I am pretty sure it would be the best manicure trick in the world! Here is the tutorial: A list of what we need to have ready:   ·    Basecoat and nail polish ·    Cornstarch ·    Small dish or container ·    Small, soft makeup brush ·    Water Steps: #1 Paint the nails on one hand. Be sure to apply a basecoat first. Then, choose any nail polish you want, and paint your nails with it. Start painting your nails from pinky to thumb, it prevents smudging on your other nails. Leave the other hand unpainted for now; this is so that the nail polish does not dry out too quickly.   #2 Brush the cornstarch onto your wet nails. Dip the brush into the cornstarch, then gently sweep the brush over the wet nail polish. The cornstarch will stick to the polish. Dip the brush into the cornstarch each time before you brush your nail with it. If you don't do this, the bristles will get caught in the wet polish and become ruin.   #3 Let it sit on your nails for a few seconds.    #4 Brush or rinse the cornstarch off your nails. Be sure to remove any specks of powder. Your nails should now be matte.   #5 Repeat the process for your other hand. Apply a basecoat and some nail polish, then dust your nails with baking powder. Brush the powder off using a clean brush. #6 Let your nails dry. Your nail polish may still look glossy while wet, so it may be a good idea to let it dry completely in order to see the final results. Also, you might want to avoid using a topcoat. Most topcoats are glossy, and will take away the effect. If you can find a matte one, then use that.   This seriously worked! It’s super easy and quick. I REALLY loved how mine turned out, they were so amazing, I thought that they would turn out looking like crap but they looked so good!

My go to Simple mani style
My go to Simple mani style
When it comes to nails I’m a simple girl. I never get them done professionally, I always do them myself. I also work in a hospital so having short clean nails is a must so I never keep my nails long. I start by trimming my nails with some clippers, then file in a rounded shape. Lately I’ve been using this sally Hansen top/bottom coat and while it’s OK it’s definitely not my favorite. I then follow with 2 coats of my chosen nail polish ( here I used Essie in shade “mooning”). After that dries I apply a top coat and let dry. To add some fun/pop I did a glitter accent nail on each hand. It was an ELF polish that I got in a gift set some time ago. Unfortunately this only lasted me about 3 days before major chipping happened. I chalk it up to the top/base coat not being the best.

Believe it or not, you can make it at home!!!💅
Believe it or not, you can make it at home!!!💅
Whether you're looking for a way to cut costs on your beauty routine or you just like the art of painting your nails, you don't have to go to the salon to get a good French manicure. There are a number of high-quality home kits available on Amazon. The best French manicure nail polish usually comes as part of a set, with a base or color polish, a white polish, and sometimes even tip guides. As for what to look for in the polish itself, it should be especially chip-resistant and long-lasting. It's a huge hassle to have to redo your nails every couple of days, especially with a French manicure. When putting together my list of picks below, I read through the reviews to make sure real-life people have vouched for the polish's longevity. The polish should also be easy to apply. After all, if it's too difficult or messy, you'll never want to give yourself a French manicure. You'll be happy to know that one of my picks comes with handy stick-on tip guides, while another includes an easy to use pen for the tips, instead of a polish, for precise application. What's great about it: Made with a tough, chip-resistant formula that contains platinum and diamond powder, this French manicure set is a long-lasting option. It comes with everything you need: a beige polish, a dual base and top coat, a white pen for the tips, and a set of tip guides. The color glides on smoothly, according to reviewers on Amazon, and the white pen is easy to use. The classic beige color looks simple yet elegant, and it's available at a good mid-range price. Usage Instructions: Sally Hansen - Diamond Strength Base & Top Coat Step 1. Clean Nails then prep and push back cuticles. Step 2. Shake up the Gel; it can make the polish color be balanced. Step 3. Apply Base coat, with UV lamp or LED lamp. Step 4. Apply Color directly, cure under UV lamp for 2-3 minutes or cure with LED lamp for 60 second; when dry, apply a second coat, and cure with UV lamp or LED lamp for 2 minute. Step 5. Apply topcoat, which can make color more shining, then cured by UV lamp or LED lamp. Step 6. Remove the tacky surface with cotton soaked with cleanser. To remove: Soak cotton pad with acetone (acrylic remover) and warp the nail. Wait a few minutes for the gel becoming soften. Rip it down gently. File away the residual gently. I really love this! The two nail polish bottles it comes with are great strength polishes and the white tip pen is easy to use and looks great. The results are great. I had been giving myself french manicures with a cheap nude basecoat and white nail art pen. This set greatly improved on the finished look of my nails. The top coat is super glossy and really strengthens your nails. They don't last quite as long as a gel manicure would but they don't chip as bad as normal polish either. Comes with stickers to get a perfect white tip, but the applicator is easy enough to use that I didn't have to use the stickers.
