TO Granactive Retinoid 2%

kalen.loves
A next/generation stable retinoid active that is designed to reduce signs of aging (dullness, uneven texture, fine lines, wrinkles). It is okay for all skin types, I find this extremely gentle! I personally use this as an eye serum then layer on a thick eye cream after. I have a few fine lines under my eyes and I would say this hasn’t help a ton, but I do feel like they are less pronounced than they were before. If you want to slowly start using a retinol product, this product or many other ones from the ordinary would be an awesome place to start!!! Also, as always, TO products are so affordable. $9.80 for 1 oz. 👏🏻 The Ordinary - Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion

1 week update
thanks to all lovely beauties out there to take their time and add a comment on my last post. I was devastated by breakout, i was having from last 2-3 weeks and nothing seems to be working. Well i guess too many exfoliants was making my skin too sensitive so now i am back to basics. I have started what i was doing in the beginning and that seems to be working just fine. I think i was selfish to have a great skin in no time 🥴. If someone is just curious what i am doing right now then lets go to products. AM: The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser sukin - Pore Perfecting Toner Blemish Control it has tree oil which is good for acne prone skin The Ordinary - Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA LA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios XL Ultra-Light Fluid SPF 50+ as i have sensitive and oily skin this makes my face matte and oil free. I really like this one for oily skin or combination skin PM: The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser sukin - Pore Perfecting Toner Blemish Control The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% (only on spots and acne 2-3 times a week) The Ordinary - Mandelic Acid 10% + HA (once a week) The Ordinary - Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion (once a week) The Ordinary - Salicylic Acid 2% Masque (once a week) The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Hemi-Squalane tea tree oil only on spots Even if i have listed so many items i feel i have very basic skin care routine as most of the products are being used weekly or only 2-3 times a week. But in the end this routine is working out for me and i am seeing good progress which makes me happy. Again thanks to all who suggested me before ❤️❤️

Mature Skin Night Routine
So with al the products out there, I enjoy shaking it up and trying new things!!! I have begun a new routine!! DHC - Deep Cleansing Oil this is my start. It does an excellent job of removing al my makeup, without striping my mature skin of moisture. Murad - Renewing Cleansing Cream I use this as my second cleanse. I love the cream to foam feel. It too does an excellent job at keeping my skin hydrated. The Ordinary - "Buffet" + Copper Peptides 1% I use this every other day! I rotate this with the next product. I have been using this for about a month and I am loving how my skin is responding. The Ordinary - Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion I use this alternating days of the “buffet”. This is a thicker consistency and I like it. This is so far a bonus to my routine. THE inkey LIST - Hyaluronic Acid Serum this is my favorite hyaluronic acid at the moment. I’m sure I will try others along the way, and love them too. This absorbs well and does not leave my skin tacky. e.l.f. - Superhydrate Moisturizer I layer this right after my hyaluronic acid, which pulls moisture to the skin. This gives my hyaluronic acid the extra boost. This is a gel texture. I keep mine in my skin fridge and it feels like heaven on my skin. CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream this is my final step!!! I can’t live without this. This makes my skin so happy!! Mature skin peeps.... game changer! This keeps my skin full of hydration, gives my skin barrier exactly what it needs, and frankly since using this... my skin continues to look better and better! LANEIGE - Lip Sleeping Mask - Mint Choco Chip I finish with this little gem! This comes in several varieties, this one is the one I was gifted. I’m glad I was. Gives my kid hydration all night. Hope my tips help! If you have any, I would love to hear them. Taking care of ur skin is a journey we all seek to perfect!!!

An eye serum worth researching
An eye serum worth researching
This serum works to reduce the look of both static and dynamic wrinkles. I add a drop under each eye and bring upwards towards the crows feet area. It targets wrinkles by moisturizing with hyaluronic acid. When you first put it on it feels sticky but is quickly absorbed into my skin so it doesn’t leave a residue. Although I use this to prevent wrinkles, I feel like my eyes are a lot brighter and less dull. I love the bottle it comes in and how it’s not really a common product. I highly recommend adding this to your skincare routine. And a plus, it’s super cheap!! 5/5 ✨

Affordable Ascorbic Acid DIY

It’s mostly a post about my favourite ingredient ever though: Vitamin c! Vitamin c is the kind of ingredient that does it all. It’s an antioxidant, helps collagen production and is super brightening! (And who doesn’t want bright skin...) It‘s also one of the very few scientifically proven anti-aging ingredients. Too good to be true? Almost. Vitamin c isn’t very stable. Stable formulations (like one of my favourites: NIOD‘s ELAN. Will post about it soon) are very expensive or contain a form of vitamin c that is not as potent as ascorbic acid. If you don’t want to worry about stability and don’t want to spend a fortune you can just diy your serum: the ordinary has L-Ascorbic Acid powder that you can freshly mix with your favourite serum everyday. I personally like mixing it with a rich cream and use it as a brightening mask. The powder is really fine (much finer than the powder you can buy as a supplement) and mixes well with everything. Just be careful: Don‘t use too much as it can be irritating and be aware what you mix it with: Certain peptides and antioxidants can be deactivated by acidity.

It’s no secret, that I’m a hug
It’s no secret, that I’m a huge deciem fan. But even I don’t love every single one of their products. Case in point: The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension 30% in Silicone just isn’t for me. It’s a pretty straight forward product: it contains three different forms of silicone and 30 % ascorbic acid. I’ve used all kinds of different forms and different strengths of vitamin C, including NIOD’s ELAN (which is 30% of ethyl ascorbic acid), my favorite so far. It’s a bit expensive though, so I wanted to try a cheaper alternative. Unfortunately I couldn’t even use the 30% suspension long enough to see if it had any brightening effects on my skin, because it tingled/burned so much. My skin isn’t exactly sensitive and I’ve used all kinds of acids, but the sensation was just too uncomfortable. If you have super tough skin and want to try something affordable to brighten it, you might be able to use it. Otherwise you should probably skip this one.

The ordinary’s 10% Lactic acid
The ordinary’s 10% Lactic acid+ Hyaluronic acid was Always a sold out thing at Ulta i had to wait for weeks to try this. Does this make you realize how people want it? 🥰 I always try acid before I buy so the moment I tried it tingled, & that tingling sensation made me get this immediately coz I knew it’s going to do something! Being the first time user of Lactic acid I had to start with the 5% (mild strength) but the moment I spot hyaluronic acid on the packaging I jumped to 10% 💫The product being a mild exfoliant tingles on skin each time I use it The 10% Lactic acid which is considered as high strength is combined with the amazing Hyaluronic acid and Tasmanian Pepperberry to provide the skin with hydration and reduce the inflammation caused by the Lactic acid. 💫I Do not use any other acids along with this (like glycolic acid toner or any other thing from The ordinary) 💫I wear SPF as this makes my skin too sensitive! 🌤 💫Mainly used for ~fine lines ~Textural irregularities ~uneven skin tone. 💫 The main purpose I got addicted to this is because of the Glow it leaves on my skin! Yes right. It leaves the skin with extraordinary glow and honestly I use it more than once a week only at nights for glow glow and more glow 💫💫💫 It’s a must try for any skincare lover

The ordinary l ascorbic Acid powder
The ordinary l ascorbic Acid powder
The Ordinary - 100% L-Ascorbic Acid Powder This is a powder of pure vitamin c, which you can mix into a serum or moisturizer for some brightening effects from the vitamin c. I love the ingredient and my favorite way is to use the serum in a sheet mask and mix some powder in it before applying the sheet mask. The jar is huge and is tinted which protects the powder from light etc. you only Need the smallest amount and I quite like that you can mix it into whatever you want and it’s so affordable. I just think it’s easy to use too much of this because you don’t really know if that’s the right formulation. Plus sometimes it’s just easier to use a vitamin c serum or moisturizer, because you have to really mix all the powder into the product. I love it for masks though, but don’t reach for it as often as a vitamin c serum!

Featuring deciem’s The Ordinar
Featuring deciem’s The Ordinary “Buffet” serum. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 🍈 It has a ‘buffet’ of different ingredients that refresh and wake up your skin. I’ve been using it in the mornings (when I have time) and I actually notice a difference in my skin looking more plump and hydrated. I’ll keep you updated on how it helps my scarring/dark spots 🧐⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ It’s also super affordable ($14.80 at sephora) vegan, and cruelty free, which if you’re into that, is a plus! ✨💓 I’ve been trying to cruelty free-ify (that’s just not a word lol) my routine and am trying to replace empties with cruelty free and mostly vegan products! ⁣⁣ ⁣
