Before and After sensitive skin routine
Hi Cherie fam 😊 I started my night routine for sensitive skin on November 7 (I have a post about it). I don’t know if you can tell from the pictures, but I feel like my skin improved. My pores are smaller, my skin is very soft (feels like velvet), brighter and not tight at all. The redness is still here, but I know rosacea treatment takes longer to get better and it’s winter, which makes the redness worse. Overall I’m very happy with my PM skin routine! I should also mention that I added oil to my routine (tarte - Maracuja Oil

Tour of what’s in my fridge
A skin care fridge is totally not a necessity but they are super fun to have. Things to consider before buying one is: does it fit in your budget, will it fit in your bathroom, what products will go in it? I got mine from Amazon where they range from $60-$150 cad but you can get them from tons of places. The way I use mine is to keep products cold for the experience (de puffing) and to extend their shelf life. Here’s a tour of what I currently keep in my skincare fridge. The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% This serum is great to keep cold as it ensures it is kept at a consistent temperature and in a dark place which helps with stability. The combination of ascorbic acid and alpha arbutin make for a great brightening and hyperpigmentation treatment. THE BODY SHOP - British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask This is a really nice hydrating and plumping face mask that gives a very spa like vibe. The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil I love to keep this oil cold as it increases the shelf life. This is a great hydrating oil that also helps acne and hyperpigmentation. THE BODY SHOP - Chinese Ginseng & Rice Clarifying Polishing Mask I love keeping this mask chilled as it helps depuff my face in the morning. This is a very nourishing mask that is also gently brightening. pixi - DetoxifEYE These are great cold as they really helps get rid of any puffiness from waking up. This pot holds 30 pairs which is great value from money. VERSED - LOOK ALIVE Hydrating Plumping Mask This is a great hydrating mask that really plumps my skin and helps when it is dehydrated. Keeping it cold makes the experience even more enjoyable. LANEIGE - Cica Sleeping Mask This is a creamy sleeping mask that highlights cica which is a very soothing ingredient. Applying it cold makes the soothing power even more effective. LANEIGE - Lavender Water Sleeping Mask This is a gel mask that feels great when applied cold as it feels very soothing. The lavender scent can also be very relaxing. grace & stella - Rose quartz face roller I love doing an evening massage, it feels amazing if the tool is kept cold. It helps with lymphatic drainage and product absorption. 👜Sheet masks ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I love to keep all my sheet masks in the fridge as the experience of a chilled mask is very enjoyable.
Accutane = complete!
I have finished my round of accutane and wanted to share with everyone! The bottom photos is what I look like after applying my skincare that I have below. My skin definitely loves it! I still have some scarring to deal with but I am no longer having any breakouts! My skincare routine: spectro - Jel Cleanser I absolutely love this cleanser. I used this while on Accutane and I did not have any problems with it so this will be my go to cleanser now. dermalogica - Multi-Active Toner I’ve been using this for about a month and my skin is loving this! I spray this on damp skin to really hydrate my skin. OLE HENRIKSEN - Truth Serum I use this because this is really the only vitamin c serum I have used. If anyone has a recommendation let me know! dermalogica - Stress Positive Eye Lift MaskI haven’t rated this because I just started using this. Cetaphil - Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion I’ve been using this for months and I actually love this! I also mix a few drops of The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil with it to lock everything in. I finished off with Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 I actually love this sunscreen!

Before and Afters still in progress....
I truly don’t like doing before and afters especially when it looks like there’s barely any progress but I promise you my skin FEELS so much better than it looks and I’ve seen some amazing progress! I’ve tagged the products I feel have helped the most recently. It takes patience but little progress is still PROGRESS 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
The Old and the New... Serum edition
The Old and the New... Serums for hyperpigmentation/texture edition The Old: The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% This serum had more of a creamy moisturizer consistency, with a bit of a silicon-like feel. I know the texture is a turn off for some, but I actually liked it. Azelaic Acid brightens the skin tone while visibly improving skin texture and reducing the look of blemishes. It is a multi-functional support ingredient that also acts as an effective antioxidant. The new: GOOD MOLECULES - Discoloration Correcting Serum The main ingredient of this serum is tranexamic acid. It is also formulated with 4% niacinamide. This serum claims to improves the appearance of age spots, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, and sun damage. I’ve only used it twice, so not enough to give a review but I can say the packaging is not awesome. It is in a dropper bottle, except the dropper doesn’t work.
I’D R A T H E R G E T A C O A L THAN THIS
tarte - Maracuja Oil After reading lots of reviews on this, I’ve decided to give a try on this product but unfortunately it didn’t work for me. After few uses, my skin became irritated and I started to have some acne. I’ve tried to give another chance to this product by mixing with my foundation and was the worst thing I’ve done it. This product didn’t work well on my skin and I had to spend weeks to get my skin back to normal. Overall, I didn’t like the texture of it, and takes time to absorb into the skin. I don’t recommend this product to nobody and I’d rather get a coal instead of this. HAVE YOU TRIED THIS OIL BEFORE?? Tell me about your experience x🖤x🖤 PS: [since I don’t have this product anymore, I took this picture from Pinterest]

I WILL NOT REPURCHASE
For 2021, I have made a resolution to no longer purchase makeup and skincare from brands that are not cruelty-free. Subsequently, I have unfortunately had to abandon about half of my makeup and skincare products. While it is sad to give up products I loved and used for so long, I can’t bear the thought of continuing to purchase makeup from brands that do such horrific things to animals. I would rather take the time to research ethical dupes than to continue paying these companies to mistreat animals. Pictured are some of what used to be my absolute favourite products, and below I will list a handful of (predominantly drugstore) brands that are not cruelty-free. I know there are plenty more, so please feel free to add them in the comments. Rosacea PM routine (on a budget)
I was never concerned about skincare routine until I found out I have rosacea. But it was not until recently that I started being more intentional about it (@cherie helped a lot ♥️). I didn’t review TO Niacinamide, the TO Azelaic Acid or the Cerave PM facial lotion yet. I just started to use. I’ll review them on another post after 6 weeks of my routine. 1 Neutrogena - Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser I use this cleanser for a while now. It’s really gentle to my skin and it doesn’t make it tight 2 VICHY - Mineralizing Thermal Water Spray Rich in 15 Minerals it’s not always on my routine. I just used it when the rosacea flares up or I feel my face too hot 3 The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%Like the Azelaic Acid, I just started so I wanna wait at least 6 weeks to see the results 4 The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%👆🏼 5 CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion👆🏼 6 #Trader Joe’s - Hydrating Hyaluronic Body Gel Cream[products]#[FiveStars] I use this on my body and not face. I simply love it, it’s a total game changer. I wrote a review about it on another post 😉 I also to add an oil to the routine. Thoughts?

Not worth the hype🙁
I grabbed the ordinary moisturizer at ultra beauty for $7. I was happy to know that it was affordable and on shelf’s. After applying this product on for the first time, I was kinda disappointed. The skin absorbs up the product quickly, leaving it dry fast. I noticed after a couple days, my skin started breaking out on my forehead and chin area. The one good thing that I liked about this product was how soft my skin felt afterwards. I also liked the fact that there is no scent to this moisturizer. I would lightly recommend this product to oily skin type, or to someone who is new to skin care. I will not be repurchasing.
1 week update
thanks to all lovely beauties out there to take their time and add a comment on my last post. I was devastated by breakout, i was having from last 2-3 weeks and nothing seems to be working. Well i guess too many exfoliants was making my skin too sensitive so now i am back to basics. I have started what i was doing in the beginning and that seems to be working just fine. I think i was selfish to have a great skin in no time 🥴. If someone is just curious what i am doing right now then lets go to products. AM: The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser sukin - Pore Perfecting Toner Blemish Control it has tree oil which is good for acne prone skin The Ordinary - Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA LA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios XL Ultra-Light Fluid SPF 50+ as i have sensitive and oily skin this makes my face matte and oil free. I really like this one for oily skin or combination skin PM: The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser sukin - Pore Perfecting Toner Blemish Control The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% (only on spots and acne 2-3 times a week) The Ordinary - Mandelic Acid 10% + HA (once a week) The Ordinary - Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion (once a week) The Ordinary - Salicylic Acid 2% Masque (once a week) The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Hemi-Squalane tea tree oil only on spots Even if i have listed so many items i feel i have very basic skin care routine as most of the products are being used weekly or only 2-3 times a week. But in the end this routine is working out for me and i am seeing good progress which makes me happy. Again thanks to all who suggested me before ❤️❤️

Which Niacinamide would you choose?
This is definitely not a dupe situation. These two formulas are only similar in the fact that they contain the same amount of niacinamide (as well as some texture and preservative agents). I’ve been a longtime user of The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and it does work, but I felt after my first bottle I wasn’t getting any continued results. I was also left unimpressed and looking for a different option due to the fact that this is a very tacky formula that can be difficult to work with. TO includes zinc in their formula which they state can reduce acne and can be anti-inflammatory. At $6 you’re getting your 2 active ingredients; niacinamide and zinc. PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Niacinamide Booster includes the same 10% of niacinamide but doesn’t stop there. They also add vitamin C and a BUNCH of calming, hydrating and restoring products that your skin needs (see attached ingredient list). It’s been a controversy whether or not vitamin C and Niacinamide can be used together, even The Ordinary suggests that their Niacinamide not be used at the same time as vitamin C. Many brands and consumers have disagreed. Paula’s Choice adds the protective ingredients to ensure you’ll have less of a chance of irritation. Paula’s Choice serum is a lightweight watery formula that leaves no residue and I find easy to work into my routine. I wasn’t quite prepared for the thin formula as The Ordinary has more of a tacky texture. I found it best to add it directly from the dropper to my face, versus my hands then face. When it comes to the price difference it does seem that The Ordinary would be the obvious choice. I’m not one that believes that quality skincare has to cost more. But Paula’s Choice formula offers much more than Niacinamide. You’re getting several ingredients that are not found in The Ordinary, hence the price difference. Once I’ve emptied my bottle I’ll be better able to determine if spending 4x’s the amount is worth it. I could choose to use a less expensive option and add the antioxidants and other skin-replenishing ingredients found in Paula’s Choices formula, but I have to admit, I do like the simplicity of fewer steps in my skincare routine. 😉 There are also several other options available that I’ve not yet tried. I have tried The Inkey List and it is just a tad bit less tacky than The Ordinary. Other brand options I’d be open to try are: Good Molecules $6 - formula looks similar to TO and TIL with the only active ingredient being niacinamide Naturium $16 - 10% niacinamide and 2% zinc Good Molecules $14 - similar again to TO and TIL I LOVE how Paula’s Choice lists their ingredients. Behind each one you’ll find out how it benefits the skin. This saves me a TON of time and effort when doing my reviews! Individual reviews on The Ordinary and The Inkey List Niacinamide can be found on my page. What’s your favorite Niacinamide to use? ❤️🍒
Current Products I'm Using
I have oil/combo skin and been struggling with hormonal acne for a few years now which is mainly around my chin. I have noticed some positive changes but also some negative ones, for example I have more blackheads in areas besides my nose which I never had before. Here are the products I've been using lately. AM Routine I don't cleanse in the morning just splash water on my face and pat dry, then I apply PAULA'S CHOICE - Resist C15 Super Booster after I apply moisturizer e.l.f. - Holy Hydration! Face Cream - Fragrance Free then sunscreen Supergoop! - Play Everyday Lotion SPF 50 With Sunflower Extract PM Routine During the day I don't wear much makeup just some mascara so I just use GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water with Rose Water for my first cleanse, then I go in with PAULA'S CHOICE - Pore Normalizing Cleanser which I am just about out of so I will be using CeraVe - Salicylic Acid Facial Cleanserwhich I haven't tried before but decided to buy it because of all the hype! Than I apply my toner and depending on my skin at the time I will either use PAULA'S CHOICE - Pore-Reducing Toner or I'm from - Rice Toner I have just recently purchased and starting using The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% then I moisturizer with THE inkey LIST - Peptide Moisturizer I use PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator twice a weeks and PAULA'S CHOICE - 1% Retinol Treatment with Peptides + Vitamin C 3 times a week. My skin is still breaking out so I'm gonna try eliminating certain products to see if I can pin point what is causing the breakouts and blackheads. I recently purchased a cleansing brush and I'm gonna start by eliminating the Paulas choice BHA Exfoliator and start using the brush 2 or 3 times a week instead. If that's not the problem then I'm gonna try taking out the Vitamin C. If anyone has any advice or tips I am all ears!!!

Update with the Process...
I'm going to be totally honest😔 I know it has only been a month with Apostrophe (and other recommended products by their derm) but so far I am not liking the outcomes. The first week I started off by putting the prescription on 3 nights a week. My face definitely got irritated the first night which led to my decision on limiting the usage. I started to use the prescription everyday by the 3rd week. Since then I have not felt like I've had any improvements on my acne. I am not giving up just yet, but I do hope to see some improvement at least by March. 🤞 🌼Apostrophe - Topical Formula 🌼CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion 🌼CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin 🌼CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser 🌼Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer
A little over 2 months results
I’ve been on 100mg /day of spiralactone. No side effects now. I think I had a bit of dizziness in the beginning but my blood pressure and potassium levels were always fine. I’ve stopped breaking out in cysts and very rarely a Pimple here and there . My face is healing now . I’m just dealing with all the post inflammatory hyperpigmentation marks now (PIH). I’ve also been using 0.025% clindamycin /clindamycin from apostrophe every night for the past 2 months also. I’ve just gotten 6%hydroquinone cream to add to my regimen . And so I’m hoping that will help out more so with the PIH Spirolactone and the tretinoin/clindamycin had done wonders for my hormonal acne !

my progress in the span of 3 years
This is my first post pls be gentle I am soff My experience and exposure to skincare was...odd growing up. I came from a poor family and was constantly switching between households. Consistent skincare routines did not exist for me, if we could afford it at all. I also had no idea what was going on with my face or why, just that I was being mocked and berated for it as though it was some sort of lack of hygeine or moral failing on my part. About 3 years ago, I started using a consistent skincare routine with more than just a face wash in the shower. Granted, it was whatever the cheapest face wash I could find at Safeway that week (likely biore or st. ives) and argan oil that I found at Marshall's. I had no idea what ingredients to look for or even what my skin type was. That first pic STILL marked a huge improvement for me and kicked off my desire to learn more to finally rectify this issue that had plagued me for more than a decade. The 2nd pic is from a few months ago. I kinda think I peaked there. I was using Neutrogena - Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser in the shower. I have oily, sensitive skin (thanks eczema) and it's very gentle, not irritating in the slightest. However, it feels like all it does is clean my face. No real benefit apart from that. I was using pixi - Glow Tonic as a toner which I loved and gave me great results but rent is literally over half my monthly income and that doesn't touch all the other bills I have and at anywhere from $18-$24 a bottle? Well... I'd rather eat tbh. I also got over the "oily skin don't need moisturize hurr durr" mentality and began to use (still do, this jar has lasted me since like July) AVALON ORGANICS - Intense Defense, With Vitamin C, Oil-Free Moisturizer . Works fine, nice and light, absorbs pretty quickly, and I like the smell. I'd like something that qualifies as a night mask instead tho, just because my entire routine is done exclusively at night with extra moisturizer or treatments as necessary. 3rd pic is from about a month ago. I've changed up the roster a few times. I'm really feeling FORMULA 10.0.6 - One Deep Attraction Daily Foaming Face Wash as I used it years ago, liked it then for the suds and the actives, but haven't gotten much in the way of results. I might try the FORMULA 10.0.6 - Three Times Sublime 3-in-1 Blackhead Wash + Scrub + Maskand FORMULA 10.0.6 - P.M. Perfectorinstead of the moisturizer I use as mentioned above. I'm also alternating between Cos De BAHA - BHA Salicylic Acid 2% Exfoliant Liquid 4oz with Niacinamide Acne Spot Treatment + Redness Relief + Pore Minimizer + Pore Cleaner and The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% . The serum makes my skin incredibly soft and the suspension helps a bunch with oil control. If y'all have any comments, questions, or suggestions regarding my routine, I'd love to hear what y'all have to say!
My go to for the last 3 months
Okay so I can’t really say 3mos as this is only my week 2 of this routine!!!! MORNING‼️ I wash with Neutrogena - Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser so far it’s been okay, I guess u get what u pay for but with that being said my skin is soooooooo sensitive that literally before finding Cherie would mostly just wash my face with a rag and 💦 ❤️I then go back in with GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water with Rose Water okay so I love this stuff, it don’t make my face feel nasty, I literally use a cotton pad and just wipe away what my first cleanser didn’t get!!!! ❤️I also take my Apostrophe - Spironolactone I’m supposed to take this daily but due to health issues I only take this every other day just to maintain my potassium levels, I’ve only been on this for 2wks and I have noticed a BIG CHANGE in my skin🙌🏽 ❤️I then top it off with Cetaphil - Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion it definitely drenches your face with moisture BUT it makes me oily🚱 NIGHTIME ROUTINE‼️ ❤️I follow all the same steps above but I add in my Apostrophe - Topical Formula So far I’m in love with this, I’m already seeing changes in my skin and some of my scarring, I would definitely recommend this product/company🗣🗣🗣If u can’t afford to see a dermatologist or your insurance doesn’t cover it, this process is pretty cool, u literally do everything over the computer💻 or your phone📲your dermatologist will make up a regimen and it’s sent to u via mail🙌🏽With COVID in our lives this was a game changer❤️ Of course after my topical I once again moisturize my skin with Cetaphil - Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion

I have always had bumps on my chin (I’m a picker so sorry you can’t see them) they are under the skin so when I try to pop them I never get it all and it comes back. Is this fungal acne? Is it hormonal? It’s been doing it the most now that I switch to the CeraVe - Hydrating Facial CleanserI also was using these products from the ordinary The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution(rarely, only to remove access makeup after face wash) The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 which I have stopped using because of the breakouts. I use CeraVe - AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30and CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotioncompared to four year ago this is nothing but I take Taytulla (specially for acne) so it’s frustrating I have to deal with these breakouts especially a huge patch on my chin that don’t even go away. Someone help🥺 am I doing this skin thing right??
CeraVe-AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30
Ok so i need help making a skin care routine here’s the tea sorry it’s so long to read. I used to only wash my face with a spectro gel cleanser and use a cetaphil moisturizer every day and call it a day and my skin is starting to get bad again. I used to have really bad skin and tons of acne but it cleared up with birth control and age i guess. I still have some pretty big pores and dark spots and dark under eyes and i recently ordered a whole cetaphil skin care routine. It seems to be making my skin worse making little bumps on my forehead. I’m using the cetaphil foaming face wash, cetaphil daily scrub, followed by elf super toner, then cetaphil night cream in the pm and the cetaphil daily moisturizer with 15 spf and cetaphil eye cream. I also ordered the ordinary serums, i ordered the niacinamide 10% +1% zinc and the alpha arbutin 2% + HA which haven’t arrived yet. Please help me build a good skincare routine, i don’t mind spending money on better products but i don’t want to buy things that don’t work. My skin is combination. Any suggestions on products that would work, and what cetaphil product is giving me bumps on my forehead? all the products except the spf i can’t find: The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HACetaphil - Hydrating Eye Gel-CreamCetaphil - Cetaphil Gentle Foaming CleanserCetaphil - Cetaphil Facial Night CreamCetaphil - Extra Gentle Daily Scrube.l.f. - Supertone Toner

Blemishes + Dry Skin
Hi! My main concerns are blemishes and dark spots, I have very dry skin so my breakouts are worse in the winter. I have large pores and I usually get pimples on my cheeks and forehead. I noticed that my forehead is also drier and my chin is darker than the rest of my face. Right now, my skincare routine only consists of cleanser, moisturizer, and micellar water. I only wash my face once a day (at night) since it gets flaky when I wash it twice, I use the Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser which is effective for my skin. In the morning, I only use the Garnier Rose Micellar Water. I am looking for an alternative to my Pond’s dry skin cream since it’s oily and clogs my face. I am also thinking of trying The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc and The Ordinary Squalane Oil. Any thoughts? Thanks!!

list of ingredients I may be sensitive to
I just want to keep this list updated so I don’t have to look somewhere else. I want to have all my skincare stuff in one place ☺️ • tea tree oil • zinc • glycolic acid? Neutrogena-Deep Clean Hydrating Cleansing Oil
I want to clear the texture of my skin!! I think my skin is not in a super bad condition but there are little bumps and weird textures on my forehead which i want to smoothen or possibly get rid of! I want to try nizoral but i wanted to know if there are any other reccomandations?? this is my current routine > CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA and sometimes -> The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Aveeno - Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer SPF 30

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.3 DAYS AGO
