My empties and its replacements 👀
My empties and its replacements 👀
Hi everyone!!! I wanted to round up a few products that I’ve used and emptied (or nearly emptied) in the past few months and share a few thoughts and what I’ve replaced them with 👀. All these products got the BOOT from my skincare routine - not bc they sucked but bc I’ve want to try something new and see what all the rage is about in these products I’ve picked up! Toner So I recently learned from@skindocminaand@Culskinthat toner isn’t necessary 😂 but I’ve seen really great things about the Neogen real ferment essence. My favorite k-beauty bloggers mentioned it and so I wanted to try. So far, I really love the texture of the toner because it’s not extremely watery where it slips right off, but it’s got a littttle bit of density to it. The indie Lee toner is alright, no complaints! Really love the spritzer bottle but the product itself is average IMO! Moisturizer ive been really on the hunt for a nice, rich moisturizer for the winter months. This indie Lee moisturizer was just alright for me. It has a little bit of a pepperminty smell but it doesn’t really run into the skin quite well. It leaves a white cast if it’s not worked into the skin. I’ve seen so many rave reviews of this moisturizer from the likes of Hyram and others, so I had to try! I haven’t opened yet but will let you know 😀 Sunscreen Sunscreen is CRUCIAL everyday, every season. I’ve used up my Supergoop completely and though it feels nice on the skin, I almost feel paranoid that it’s clogging my pores since it acts like a primer as well. Because I’m not wearing makeup these days, I want a more light, breathable sunscreen. I’ve heard this Klairs one is amazing, so I had to try! Have you tried any of these? How did you like them??

Thankful for my beauty journey 🌟
Thankful for my beauty journey 🌟
It’s amazing how far I’ve come in my skin journey from the past two years to now. Nov 2018, I had the worst breakout ever and it didn’t feel great for my self confidence. Makeup became a MUST and not a nice to have and I felt like I was covering my face rather than emphasizing off my features. Here are some tips on how to work towards clear skin (if you want!!): Simplify simplify simplify. Having the most products in your routine doesn’t guarantee your skin will get better. In fact, it might do the opposite. Introducing your skin to all these products and potent ingredients/chemicals at once might overwhelm it. A cleanser, moisturizer, serum, SPF is all you really need! More expensive =/= more effective. Contrary to what the influencers and beauty world might say, more expensive products does NOT mean that they are really really good and will work for you. It just means higher brand power. Some products, however, are worth dishing out for like my holy grail SKINCEUTICALS - C E Ferulic With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C Serum . But there are affordable options out there too! Do your research. Good things take time. If you don’t see results right away, this is normal. Your skin is the largest organ in your body and needs time to calibrate and get used to the changes. It will take weeks, if not months, to see results. Take progress pics every few weeks to see all the improvements your skin is making that you might not notice on a day to day basis. Celebrate the small wins! Don’t compare yourself with others. Beauty and skincare is a journey, not a destination! Your skin won’t always be good and it won’t always be bad. Continue to learn about yourself and your skin and adapt to the changes as your body goes through them. It might be stress, hormones, diet changes, or just aging! Have fun with it 😁

Brow gel: COLOURPOP versus GLOSSIER
Brow gel: COLOURPOP versus GLOSSIER
Tinted brow gels are my GO-TO for an easy, effortless look and it’s a staple in my daily makeup routine. I honestly feel naked without it on a day I opt to wear makeup. I have been using Glossier’s Boy Brow gel in Brown since.....forever. This product was the first product I’ve tried from Glossier and it made me a loyal customer ever since. However, I’ve been seeing some chatter in the cherie community about the Colourpop dupe for boy brow and I saw that it is less than HALF the price. So, I decided to try! I went to a few Ultas and the brown tint was sold out, so I knew it had to be good. When I finally hunted it down, I immediately tried when I got home and OH. MY. GOD. I LOVEEEE it. It’s cheaper, more tinted, and applies like a dream. The wand/brush is softer and does a great job of applying the product and making it look natural. There’s literally no need to be paying $16 for a product when a $7 does it better. Packaging is the same, quality is better, and it’s easier to find (when Ulta isn’t sold out of it 🤣) I’m fully convinced that this is better than Boy Brow. Glossier’s product may have been my first love but I’ve now moved on to a better and cheaper product 💅🏼 thank u, next!

Tried out these eye masks because I was out in the sun all day and wanted some TLC for my skin after. WANDER BEAUTY - Baggage Claim Gold Eye Masks Tbh not sure what they’re supposed to do other than look chic but I enjoyed them! I’m also wearing my turbie twist hair towel after showering. I love this because it’s a microfiber which doesn’t damage your hair like a regular towel might. When I wring out the water from my hair, I plop this on my head for a few minutes while I go about my nighttime skin routine and it really absorbs the water and keeps my hair out of my face! Skincare Diary!
Skincare Diary!
Awhile ago, I saw someone (obviously a genius!) post about keeping a little skincare date book/diary and I thought that was a great idea! I bought a planner on Amazon and have been writing down all the products I’ve used, when and notes about irritation or if something seems ineffective. I actually really love this. I like having this archive of information, as well as other pages in the front and back detailing what products I have and what acids/products should or should not be mixed. It’s a great reference tool! Plus, I love to doodle! 😂

*NEW* VERSED PRODUCT REVIEW BY DERMATOLOGIST ‼️
*NEW* VERSED PRODUCT REVIEW BY DERMATOLOGIST ‼️
Chemical exfoliation is becoming more and more popular in a basic skincare routine. I prefer chemical exfoliation with AHA and BHAs because it's gentler on sensitive skin than mechanical exfoliation. The new Versed Doctor’s Visit Instant Resurfacing Mask has been great for my skin. It comes in a jelly-like consistency and easy to spread across the face. It contains: - glycolic acid, lactic acid, salicylic acid which help fade dark spots, smooth overall skin texture, and unclog pores You don’t get that burning or stinging feeling as well, more of a tingle. Make sure you don’t use it more than three times a week and avoid using it the same day as retinol. **Note retinol also acts as an exfoliant and if used together will likely cause more breakouts and irritation. Use the product at night, after a gentle cleanser. Follow it up with your favorite moisturizer and don’t forget your sunscreen the next morning! Let me know if you’ve tried the product! VERSED - Doctor's Visit Product details: $17.99 Sold on Versed.com and Target 🙌

All About Nail Care
All About Nail Care
First picture: You cant see very well but I had a couple of hangnails I need to trim off, and my cuticles were kinda extended because I havent pushed them back in a while. Using a cuticle pusher/a wooden stick pusher, you can be able to push back the dry skin on the nail without damaging the nail (do not cut off your cuticles like they do in salons!!! this is important because they protect the most sensitive part of the nail) Second picture: This is what they look like after I took care of them! I do not have much dry skin surrounding the nail because i consistently use this oil called: jojoba oil. This oil is great to help make ur nails flexible, and this flexibility allows you to more risk free of breaking them Does your nail chip on the edges when they bump into a door or desk? They may be too hard! and this means they are more prone to cracking and breaking on the edges of the nail. Jojoba oil will help with this because the chemistry formula is closes to our natural body oils! But if you cannot find any jojoba oil around you, its fine because different oils will help will the healing surrounding your nails such as: olive oil, coconut oil, argon oil, pretty much any oil. They just wont be effective with the actual nail. (None of these oils will help your nails grow!! that is a myth, the only way to allow your nails to grow is to not break them or bite me, research it if you do not believe me!) Third picture and fourth picture: I forgot to take a picture of the nails after i trimmed them to my desired length, but here they are with nail polish on! As you can see, my nails were not even to eachother I used a glass nail file, these files are much better for your nails compared to the buffer ones. the grit is wayyy more fine, so it wont be jagged or rough on the edges of the nail if your not some crazy nail lady like i kinda am, then you can use nail trimmers... they arent perfect because they put so much pressure onto your nails to break them, and then some layers of the nail will not be equal to actual nail spot you wanted it to be trimmed to (its kinda hard to explain) These are some tips that i have! Take what you will, I got some of these info from Bliss Kiss website, as well as simply nail logical on youtube.

FENTY SKIN - DERMATOLOGIST REVIEW
FENTY SKIN - DERMATOLOGIST REVIEW
I am a huge fan of Rihanna and I was extremely excited (and honored) to be chosen to review this product in advance. I've only had a chance to use it for a few days, but I'm going to break down some of the ingredients for you all from a dermatologists standpoint and let you know if I think it's worth it! FENTY SKIN - Total Cleans'r Remove-It-All Cleanser 'FENTY SKIN - Total Cleans'r Remove-It-All Cleanser The cleanser is my favorite product in the entire starter kit from Fenty Skin. It's very hydrating, initially has a balm-like texture, that then foams after rubbing it into the skin. It has gentle cleansing ingredients that won't be too stripping to the skin. Unfortunately, this product does have fragrance in it, so it's not ideal for sensitive skin. However, fragrances in cleansers are generally safe because they're not in contact with the skin for long enough to cause sensitization. I would recommend this product to my family, friends, and patients! FENTY SKIN - Fat Water Pore-Refining Toner Serum The toner is probably my least favorite part of the starter kit. In general, I don't think toners are necessary to a simple skin care routine unless they add an active ingredient that's beneficial to the skin. I do like that this product has niacinamide in it, which is great for oily skin, acne, and hyperpigmentation. However, witch hazel, which is a large component of this product, is very stripping to the skin and does not have benefits long-term. I would personally avoid this product, especially if you have dry or sensitive skin. I would not recommend this product! FENTY SKIN - Hydra Vizor Invisible Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Sunscreen I really like that the skincare line has a sunscreen with SPF 30 in it. It blends extremely well with the skin and is very hydrating, while protecting from the sun. It has the texture of a very light moisturizer. It is a chemical sunscreen, however, it does not contain oxybenzone, which is an ingredient that I have been telling my patients to avoid in their sunscreens. Unfortunately, it does have a small concentration of fragrance, limonene, and linalool, which are known to cause allergy and irritation in some people. Overall, I did enjoy using this sunscreen and I think many people will like it too! In summary, there are many aspects of this product that I really like. The packaging is my favorite part of the entire product line. It's very aesthetic and I really like the refillable sunscreen container. However, given the price point and the ingredients list, I think there are better products out there that will be more beneficial at a lower price point!

I Express COURAGE With Beauty
I Express COURAGE With Beauty
I first fell in love with makeup and beauty when I was in 6th grade at my middle school. A friend of mine was a true goth and always was covered head to toe in black, safety pins, and heavy metal band patches. She always had these mesmerizing big black Smokey eyes that she painted on every morning at her locker. I being a closeted trans pre-teen always wanted to explore the world of makeup and beauty but was too afraid to try because of the bullying I would inevitably receive. I had this burning desire to let my true identity shine; to be the girl I knew I was, and for me I knew makeup could allow me to do that. One day I mustered up the courage to ask my friend if I could try her Hot Topic black eyeliner, not only did she give it to me without hesitation but she encouraged me! For me putting on that black eyeliner felt so liberating. The bullying got worse of course but I didn't care because that eyeliner became my war paint. Every day I would go to my friends locker and play with her makeup before class, taking it off after school so my parents wouldn't see. As the years went on makeup became my secret impenetrable armor, I got better, I learned new skills, and acquired new products. Even though people were so cruel and harsh, so judgmental towards me for wearing makeup, it never stoped me. My Armor of foundation, eyeliner, mascara, and blush kept me going and kept me confident. Makeup made me fearless and courageous, it stopped me from caring what other people thought of me, because I felt beautiful within myself. Makeup allowed me to see the girl trapped inside begging to get out. Beauty set me free!t care because that eyeliner became my war paint.Every day I would go to my friends locker and play with her makeup before class, taking it off after school so my parents wouldn't see. COLOR CORRECTION is so importa
COLOR CORRECTION is so important when creating flawless EVEN skin. We all have little things that may not be ideal on our skin but knowing basics will help you determine what colors will counteract any of your concerns. Color correctors take the basic rule of “complimenting colors” from the color wheel. ORANGE and BLUE are opposites on the wheel which means complimentary which also means they neutralize each other. YELLOW and PURPLE neutralize GREEN and RED neutralize For example if you have a blue tint under your eyes using a color correcting concealer with a peach or orange base will counteract the blue. Another tip: If you have rosacea and overall redness to your skin and want to bring it down before applying foundation try a color correcting primer that has a green tint to it. (Clarins SOS green primer is amazing) I'm using the Graftobian Color Correcting Wheel in light (also have the dark corrector wheel out to show its colors) NYX - Color Correcting Concealer Palette Charlotte Tilbury - Magic Vanish Color Corrector Clarins-Sos green primer Clarins-SOS lavender 05 Primer Graftobian-Light Corrector Wheel Graftobian-Dark Corrector Wheel
