Rosacea/Sensitive skin routine!
This is my new routine for the fall. I recently found out I have rosacea and hormonal acne so I have been experimenting with what products would best suit my skin. For reference: the hormonal birth control pill is what has cleared up my skin dramatically, and I cannot attribute my routine to clearing it up. But my routine is keeping my skin’s moisture barrier soft, healthy and glowing. I will add a brief overview of my routine and why it’s working so well for me! I ❤️ Eye Creams!
👁 Let’s talk 𝐄𝐲𝐞 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐬! 👁 I know some people say eye creams are unnecessary but frankly IDGAF because I love them! Here are the two I’m currently using: 𝗪𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐬? Here we have SUNDAY RILEY - Auto Correct Brightening and Depuffing Eye Contour Creamand YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Dream Eye Cream With Goji Stem Cell and Ceramides! 𝘚𝘙: Auto Correct is a “bestseller that banishes tired-looking eyes. An eye cream that instantly delivers a lifted and depuffed look to the eye area while rapidly reducing the appearance of dark circles and fine lines.” 𝘠𝘛𝘛𝘗: “This potent, fragrance-free overnight eye cream works to visibly smooth the appearance of fine lines + wrinkles, firm the look of skin, and actively hydrate while you sleep. The breakthrough formula harnesses the power of high-tech goji stem cell, plant-based ceramides, vegan hyaluronic acid, and THD ascorbate (vitamin C)—a complete overnight eye recovery in one step.” 𝐌𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬: 𝘚𝘙: Auto Correct is my current AM eye cream, as it adds instant brightness. I do notice some depuffing as well, thanks to the caffeine in it. I had tried a sample size and decided I wanted to continue using it, but didn’t want to shell out $65 for an eye cream. So, I asked for it for Christmas and Santa delivered 😉 the little sample lasted me 30+ uses, so I’m gonna have this for a while! 𝘠𝘛𝘛𝘗: Dream Eye Cream is obviously my PM eye treatment and I am obsessed with its texture! It is thick and hydrating but smooths and absorbs so well. I seriously look forward to using it every night because it feels so luxurious! $48 seems steep, until you realize how little you need to cover both under eyes. This is going to last a looonnngg time and I’m so glad because I am loving it! 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵’𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘧𝘢𝘷𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘦𝘺𝘦 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮??

Avocado for the win! 🥑
GLOW RECIPE - Avocado Melt Retinol Eye Sleeping Mask (((Yes I used a real avocado as a prop! lol))) 🥑 What it is: “A gentle but powerful eye sleeping mask formulated with avocado, encapsulated retinol, coffeeberry, and niacinamide. Long-lasting actives release throughout all hours of the night to help moisturize, brighten, fight fine lines, and de-puff.” 🥑 “Key Ingredients: 💚Avocado- A nutrient-dense fruit rich in antioxidants such as Vitamin E & Vitamin C, which are known to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles and environmental aggressors. Contains both avocado oil and avocado extract for the ultimate soothing and nourishing experience. 💚Encapsulated Retinol- Helps to rejuvenate the skin and achieve firmer-looking skin. Encapsulation allows the retinol to release smaller amounts at a time, making it more gentle than traditional retinol treatments. 💚Niacinamide- A water-soluble vitamin (B3) and antioxidant that works with the natural substances in your skin to help visibly improve the appearance of dullness, fine lines and wrinkles, and to help brighten the appearance of dark circles. 💚Coffeeberry- Packed with antioxidants, coffeeberry (the seed of the coffee plant) helps to soothe skin, and is a natural source of caffeine that can help reduce puffiness and the appearance of dark circles.” 🥑Price: $42.00 (15mL) 🥑Side Note: “Free Of: Parabens, Mineral Oil, Sulfates, Silicones, Phthalates, Alcohol, Synthetic Dyes, Synthetic Fragrance. Leaping Bunny Certified Cruelty-free.” 🥑How to Use: “(To Use As An Eye Sleeping Mask)- After cleansing, apply a pea-sized amount to the entire orbital eye area and gently pat into skin using ring finger for optimal absorption. Apply nightly. Do not layer with other eye creams. Use before applying serums. (To Use As A Daytime Eye Treatment)- Follow instructions above. Layer SPF that is safe for the eye area on top of the formula.” 🥑My thoughts: I’ve been using this eye mask nightly (I use a different eye cream for daytime) for the past month and I’m really enjoying it. It’s very creamy and rich, has a nice subtle scent, absorbs well, and does a great job of moisturizing my under eye area without irritating it. I’ve noticed an improvement in my dark circles, and although I don’t have a big issue with puffiness, my eye area is smoother overall. This product is pretty expensive, but you get a lot of product in the jar and a little goes a very long way. Between the great results so far and the fact that Glow Recipe is a vegan and cruelty free brand, I do recommend this product! 🥑Tip: The opening to the jar is quite small, so don’t lose the cute little scooper that comes with it!
Mini brand review ✨ Glow Recipe 🍉
Yay for bringing back mini brand reviews! 🥰 This is where I do a couple sentences on every product I’ve tried from a brand. If you have any questions or want an in depth review on a product comment below! GLOW RECIPE - Avocado Melt Retinol Eye Sleeping Mask - I love this! Creamy formula melts into the skin without being too heavy. Very hydrating but I would only use 2-3x a night. Good beginner retinol. GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow Jelly Sheet Mask- They don’t make this anymore but I did like it! A hydrogel sheet mask that felt resfreshing on the skin. I didn’t see many benefits though. GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon + AHA Glow Sleeping Mask - The texture is not for everyone but I like it! It’s a little goopy but it does absorb into the skin once worked in. It smells like watermelon jolly ranchers. I would say oily skin only and only she 2-3x a week but I loved the mild exfoliation. GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturizer - I love this for oily skin! Smells like the sleeping mask but not as strong. Adds a lot of hydration without feeling heavy or sticky. GLOW RECIPE - Limited Edition Lip Pop Duo - I feel like it’s overpriced for what it is but if you’re interested it’s a nice product. It has a waxy feel but it’s very lightweight and nourishing. Both smell AMAZING!! Has mild exfoliation that doesn’t stay long on the lips and a really pretty natural tint. GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops - Again, over priced for what it is but I still like it. The serum feels amazing on the skin and gives all the benefits on niacinamide. Smells like watermelon but it’s a lot fainter than their other products. It doesn’t give a “glow” like they claim though. It’s more a “dolphin” skin effect that doesn’t last long. I would not use over make up though as it has your typical serum consistency.
✨ The Facial Spray to End All Facial Sprays ✨
Hey M8’s! I’m all about glowing skin and ideally, I want my skin to glow without highlighters, concealers and foundations. I’ve tried many different facial sprays and almost all of them made my skin glow - the catch was that this glow would not last through the day. They would also make my not usually greasy skin, look very greasy. The Evian Brumisateur Natural Mineral Water Facial Spray changed all of this for me. evian - Brumisateur Natural Mineral Water Facial Spray The Evian Facial Spray claims to: Hydrate / Moisturise: I was a little skeptical about this claim as it is mineral water; I thought that it may wash off my moisturiser and eye gel but it didn’t! I used the spray like a setting spray (minus the makeup) so I had moisturiser and eye & brow gel under it. It definitely felt like my skin had another moisture barrier and did not wash anything off. Refresh: It’s cool mineral water (if stored correctly). The product sprays out of the bottle lightly and feels incredibly refreshing (similar to the way the Morphe Continuous Setting Mist sprays). To test out this claim I used the product after work and it definitely made my skin look very fresh! This would make the product great in summer because it has proven to be long lasting. Tone: The facial spray removed as much dirt as other toners I have used before. Witch Hazel toner normally removes any traces of dirt from my skin, the Evian facial spray is not as good as Witch Hazel in this area. The product instructs that you can spray it several times a day - I obtained the results above off of just one spray! This spray is the best facial spray I have ever used and I will definitely be buying it again! It can be used at any time of the day or night - and even as a setting spray! Most importantly it kept my skin glowing all day with no greasy look at 5:00pm!😂 If you are in Australia 🇦🇺 you can pick up one of these at your local Chemist Warehouse for $8.01 for 300ml / 10.1 fl. oz.- a bloody bargain if you ask me! Rating: 9/10 Lost 1 point for not being able to tone as well as Witch Hazel. Thanks for reading M8’s!! May God bless your skin and mine !💋
My skincare (normal to oily sensitive skin)
My current routine! I have ups & downs & some I want to improve but this is what it’s currently at! Not pictured: TATCHA - Calming Foaming Enzyme Powder Absolutely love! Was going back & forth between this version & the one for oily skin but this one is juuuuuust right for my picky skin!! Pictured: (in order of use) TATCHA - The Essence Plumping Skin Softener Omg-it’s a game changer! This stuff may just look like fancy water (lol who am I kidding-I use evian - Brumisateur Natural Mineral Water Facial Spray so yeah-THATS fancy water but I love it! lol) but this stuff is 100% the real deal! I’ve noticed that products glide one & I don’t have as much of the shiny effect after putting on my skincare routine! Yay! DRUNK ELEPHANT - Shaba Complex Firming Eye Serum Ok so warning on this one-you’ll never use a full pump unless you share with 2 other people at the same time-this pump is stupid-I hate it but the product so far has done a good job & hasn’t made me run to go find a new one right away-could it be improved...? Yeah-but it’s a good option for me for now 😊 also-I don’t like using this by itself cuz it’s drying... so for a fix to that I added.... DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Tango Multivitamin Eye Cream One again-you don’t need a full pump unless you’re sharing-no one has that much surface area to cover with this...ugh. This is the step that was missing when I just was using the firming serum-this is hydrating & goes after because it’s thicker. The combo works for me. Would I rather have 1 product? Yes. Would I rather have a better pump that doesn’t portion out share sizes of product? Yes.... am I rushing to Sephora to find a new one? Ha! No.... Curology - Curology formula My 2 cents on those people who hate this? It’s not for you & that’s ok! But dang does this work for me!! It’s a must have!! Love it!! -or- never and DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum I haven’t used this enough to rate but this is supposedly suppose to help with dark spots & pores? We shall see tester size...we shall see... TATCHA - The Water Cream Omg moisture heaven! Smells like a spa, glides on like a dream AND has gold in it? Sign me up! This stuff is amazing-I love it & it does wonders for me! Add ons! TATCHA - THE SERUM STICK Not in love-good for dry spots or singular areas every once in a while but meh-not worth it & not a fave of mine. TATCHA - Luminous Dewy Skin Mist Also-not in love. Is it nice when I’m dried out? Yeah! Does it last? Nooooot really? Meh-I have it I’ll use it & I won’t buy again... TATCHA - Silken Pore Perfecting Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 35 PA+++ Meh-this is just....meh. Again will use it up & not rebuy....

Negative temps got me like...
Living in Wisconsin can be rough on the skin. Temperature dipping below zero and whipping wind are harsh. My winter routine is focused on hydration and keeping my skin barrier intact. Here are a couple of products I have had a good experience with this winter. 1. PURITO - Centella Unscented Serum I love this serum because it is unscented and A great ingredient list. Centella repairs a damaged skin barrier and soothe irritated skin. The Centella Asiatica Extract and Panthenol help calm the irritated skin preventing further inflammation. 2. DRUNK ELEPHANT - F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial Mask I use this on top of my moisturizer. The formulation includes a number of different barrier replenishing ingredients including its name sake vitamin F. 3. Krave - Great Barrier Relief GBR is a thicker serum that offers a blend of conditioning oils that helps repair the skin barrier while simultaneously helping with hyperpigmentation and breakouts. 4. EMINENCE - Clear Skin Probiotic Masque This brand was recommended to me by an esthetician. Not only is it moisturizing, but it helps clear your complexion. Formulated with cooling cucumber tones and refining yogurt, which exfoliates and eliminates the appearance of blemishes.
Babyfacial Sunday Got an Upgrade! ⬆️💜
My Babyfacial Sunday routine just got an upgrade! 👌🏼 I apply a thin, even layer of Babyfacial onto my skin & kick back and watch 90 Day Fiance for 20 minutes. Babyfacial, in short, is a professional grade AHA/BHA facial in a bottle - it not only exfoliates, but also revs up surface turnover to give you a more radiant, clear, smooth & youthful appearance. 💕 𝒩𝑒𝓌 𝒮𝓉𝑒𝓅 𝒜𝓁𝑒𝓇𝓉 🌟 After I rinse off Babyfacial and pat my skin dry, I spritz four sprays of Sweet B onto my skin, and lightly press it in. Sweet Biome is Drunk Elephant’s brand spankin’ new Fermented Sake Facial Spray! 💜 Formulated with fatty amino acids, electrolytes, & ceramides - Sweet B’s role is to replenish a healthy micro biome and support your skin’s acid mantle to keep it strong, smooth & balanced. Literally making it a perfect companion product for Babyfacial Sunday! 💜 I then follow up with 3 pumps of F-Balm and 2-3 drops of Virgin Marula Oil to help restore the skin & strength the skin’s acid mantle! 💦 Sweet B will be hitting shelves in January 2021; you can head over to drunkelephant.com to sign up for updates! 💭 DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial Mask DRUNK ELEPHANT - F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial Mask DRUNK ELEPHANT - Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil DRUNK ELEPHANT - Sweet Biome Fermented Sake Spray Coming Soon
I have completed my first month of accutane! Now that I’ve finished the first month, my dosage is going up so I’m anticipating more dryness. 😩🏜 PROS: WILL I EVER WASH MY HAIR AGAIN!? It’s never greasy anymore and has so much body! THIS PART IS BOMB. Cons: oh my aching EYES. You know when it’s allergy season and your eyes ache and burn? Well picture that but like you’ve slept with your eyes pried WIDE OPEN ALL NIGHT with sand and sun blowing into them. Also, skin around nose is dry AF. Love looking like I have bats in the cave at all times. Also my hands peel?! I’ve never had ashy dry hands til now. Products that have been helpful when dealing with the shedding uglies and dry skin misery: CeraVe - Healing Ointment Feels greasy but offers sweet relief from painful skin cracking. Dr.Dan's - CORTIBALM LIP BALM HOLY GRAIL LIP BALM. Bio-Oil - Dry Skin Gel Feels greasy, but makes body skin feel nice after showering and before bed. Kiehl's - Kiehl's Ultra Facial Moisturizer Sinks into skin nicely, doesn’t clog my pores, keeps skin feeling good all day. Murad - Anti-Aging Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 PA+++ I loved this before accutane and still love it. It’s a nice sunscreen because there’s no white cast and the shiny goes away quickly. GOOD MOLECULES - Hyaluronic Acid Serum Nice applicator and bottle, sinks in quick and not sticky! AND ITS CHEAP. Winner!! Tried one bottle and ordered three more because it offers such a nice hydration boost. ACCUTANE USERS: I CANNOT RECOMMEND THE DR DANS LIP BALM ENOUGH. IT IS NOTHING SHORT OF AMAZING for painful lip cracks, shedding, and tightness in the lips. 1000000% worth finding.
Will you sashay or will you stay? 😔🤚🏼
I thought I'd give some thoughts on skin care products I have tried in 2020. I will talk about more products in future posts, but let's start with this. What I loved ❤ NEOGENLAB - Sur.Medic Azulene Soothing Pepthide Ampoule After my skin got randomly sensitive (currently being screened for lupus), a lot of products I already had in my routine just didn't work for me anymore and would make my skin angry. I needed to repair my skin barrier and use different products from what I used to use for my then acne-prone skin that could take a lot. This product was key in calming my skin and repairing my moisture barrier. This contains 10 peptides, Azulene blue capsule and ceramide capsules. Holy grail! The Ordinary - ''Buffet'' I heard somewhere that for peptides to be effective, you have to use them AM & PM. I use this in my bedtime routine to maintain the effects of the NEOGENLAB ampoule mentioned above. It's cheap and the packaging is glass. Very easy to incorporate this in your routine when taking a break from retinol that can be irritating. NEOGENLAB - Real Rerment Micro Essence I use this after double cleansing at night and it's so good. My skin just drinks it up and it doesn't leave any tackiness. It's super gentle and will give you a boost of hydration after your cleansing step. Been using this every day since this summer and I'm not even halfway done with the bottle. COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence My skin has gone through changes this year, but this is one of the products that remained in my routine. I use this in the morning before my serums and it makes my skin looks so great! It's kind of gooey at first, but turn to a watery texture pretty quickly. It's actually impressive how this just sinks into your skin. It helps with my acne scars and post-inflammation hyperpigmentation. One pump is enough for my whole face! BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Marine Algae Eye Cream Many claim that eye creams are not necessary and I believe them. I personally like to use one because I set my concealer with powder and it can be a little drying. This is lightweight and is a good base before eye makeup. Helped with my fine lines and the packaging is glass. 4 stars cause it's not a necessity. Products I disliked 💔 Perricone MD - Hypoallergenic Firming Eye Cream This eye cream is so heavy and oily it gave me a few milias. Total rip off for the price and it contains palm oil. DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum I incorporated more niacinamide in ny routine and stopped using acids more than twice a week, so this is not a necessity unless you have 100$ laying around. Can be irritating. Kiehl's - Kiehl's Ultra Facial Moisturizer It worked good when I used to be on antibiotics for cystic acne, but now my skin doesn't absorb it, makes me greasy and breaks me out cause it's clogging. I recommend only if you have dry and flaky skin.

Pretty Pink Cleansers 💕
I've been doing some research and trying to get into the K-beauty scene. One brand that stood out to me was Missha and they have a lot of products, so I figured that I would start with a pretty basic cleanser to get a feel for how I like it. Here are my thoughts: #Missha - Pink Aloe Calming Foam[products]#[TwoStars] First off, let's start with the packaging. Adorable! The bottle caught my eye right away. Texture is a more opaque, creamy consistency that foams up well. But there's a very strong fragrance. To make matters worse, the scent is a potent orange smell, and sure enough at almost the top of the ingredient list is orange peel oil. The reason this bothers me is because this is marketed as an aloe vera based cleanser that is supposed to calm the skin and balance the PH. Citrus oils are really irritating for sensitive skin. Not at all what I expected. HERBIVORE - Pink Cloud Rosewater + Tremella Creamy Jelly Cleanser On the bright side, I also purchased this absolute gem not long ago. What a life saver this is. Probably one of the best cleansers I have ever used. This is a gentle jelly texture and doesn't lather heavily but gets the job done without stripping the skin. The rose scent is very faint and disappears quickly. I absolutely love the way this feels on my skin and would totally recommend it to anyone. I believe this texture works for everyone except super oily skin types. #CherieCreator
My First Cherie Convo Post! 🏷 Skin Positivity
Let’s talk about perspective. I am not a psychologist, but I did have some training in nursing school, and there are two concepts that I want to talk about when it comes to skin. 1. Body Dysmorphia: Most people associate this diagnosis with eating disorders, the classic image of a thin girl seeing herself as fat in a mirror. This is a common form of body dysmorphia but not the only type, and I would like to bet the other types are actually more common! Body dysmorphia can be a fixation on real or perceived body flaws that your mind blows out of proportion. This could be for instance, thinking your nose is the size of a duck beak when in reality it is small for an Italian, OR thinking one tiny pimple is the size of your entire face! You see what I’m getting at here? We all fixate on weird little things that we think are huge but no one else notices. 2. Cognitive Distortions: Similarly, cognitive distortions are your brain blowing things out of proportion irrationally, often in a downward spiral. For example: OMG that pimple is huge -> why is it so big and noticeable -> its so ugly -> im so ugly -> everyone is gonna see it and think im gross -> no one will take me seriously because they think I dont take care of myself -> I should just stay inside instead. Again, skin and beauty fixations can DEFINITELY fall under cognitive distortions. If you notice things look worse the more you look at them, then it is probably your brain being mean to you and not your actual skin!! For instance, I used an exfoliating serum last night, and when I woke up i groggily felt my face and it felt SO SMOOTH. Then I looked in the mirror, and all I could see was the GIANT pimple on my neck, worse than yesterday and HIDEOUS. I feel like its a volcanic eruption popping out of my neck. Then I look at the rest of my face and suddenly it doesnt seem so smooth and glowy anymore. My eyes are bloodshot from lack of sleep, my dark circles are terrible, i have forehead creases and texture, my dark spots arent going away, and my lips are chapped. I look gross. First picture is my one pimple, next to what I think my pimple looks like (zoomed in). The second picture is my face in my poor bathroom lighting with the contrast increased a bit. Third picture is what the little pimple actually looks like in sunlight. Fourth and final picture is my skin in the sun, absolutely zero makeup or primer or anything with shimmer, just naturally glowing beautiful skin!! It is all about perspective. Skin positivity doesn’t necessarily have to be about loving your acne or imperfections, sometimes it is just knowing that they are NORMAL, and most importantly to STOP FOCUSING ON THE BLEMISHES! Take a selfie in bright sunlight and allow yourself to see all the beautiful things about your skin. Reframe the way you see your skin and STOP STARING IN THE MIRROR! Love you all in this community ❤️ Side note: someone please explain these neck zits? Im getting them a lot suddenly the past few months 😫
How do you heal and treat your skin?
✨I’m gonna share with you my nighttime treatment my skin really appreciates, and how I wake up with much cleaner and radiant skin. ✨ For a very long time , I would always wake up with dull skin and uneven texture. There won’t be any radiance or glow , and its sort of demotivating to start the day like that. Acne wasn’t a big problem but it did occur few times a month and would always leave scars or blemishes. ✨ A while ago I came across a Acne Treatment oil called ‘Meltdown’ by @blume 💕 ✨ What is it? It’s an oil for Acne Prone Skin which you can use to prevent acne, clear acne and blemishes. It’s a blend of all natural ingredients. ✨ Key Ingredients Rosehip, Blue Tansy, Tamanu, Lavender, Black Cumin Seed ✨ My thoughts At nighttime, I usually cleanse my with @blume milk based face wash ‘Daydreamer’ . I really like it because its so creamy and gentle. It doesn’t irritate my eyes or skin. To use ‘Meltdown’ , I mix a few drops of this essential oil based serum with @milkmakeup moisturizer. It calms down any inflammation I have and its a perfect nighttime treatment to heal my skin. Now I wake up with much clearer skin which I can feel confident about and start my day. It really heals the skin overnight and any acne I have goes away in a week or so. Its been amazing to clean up the blemishes, and there are only a few areas left. Also, for the people who weren’t able to use @milkmakeup vegan moisturizer because its too rich, I think it would be a great idea to mix it with an oil/serum so it suits your skin. - - What’re your favourite nighttime treatments? Let me know what you think ☺️ BLUME - Daydreamer Face Wash BLUME - Meltdown Oil for Acne-Prone Skin Milk MAKEUP - Vegan Milk Moisturizer

My night skin routine :)
Ok, so this is what I do for my face every night to help my combination skin from being at it's worst. Hope this helps!! :) 1. Wash face in shower with one pump of the glossier milky jelly and lather with my hands (5x week) or with a wash cloth for exfoliation (2x week). Rinse with warm-hot water to open the pores but not hurt the skin. 2. When I'm out of the shower, I splash cold water on my face to close my pores since they would just get bigger if I skipped this step. 3. Next, I use the glossier solution (AHA BHA PHA & salicylic acid) or the glossier super pure (vitamin b3 & zinc) to treat my acne and large pores. 4. When my face is dry, I take about a 1/4 tsp (around the size of the tip of my index finger) of the glossier priming moisturizer rich to prevent oil production, since my face is less oily if hydrated. ~ sometimes I use the malin and goetz vitamin e moisturizer instead to switch around. 5. I follow up my moisturizer with my avene thermal spring water to cool my face off, since my face gets hot while doing my skin routine. The water spray also acts as the setting spray for my routine products and gets me to start winding down at night. As of November 2019, for the first time I have acne at the age of 27. I had changed so much about my lifestyle at that point it’s hard to determine what’s causing it (started going to the gym, started eating meat again, started a new job, and changed my skin care routine). My skin has always been sensitive and is also dehydrated. Here I am months later, and my face is still an acne mess. I’ve tried everything under the sun. I believe my acne to be fungal which mean I should avoid an oily products as they can further clog my pores. Fungal acne happens when the skin and hair folicles are producing too much sebum and yeast. Currently this is my routine: - PETER THOMAS ROTH - Water Drench Cloud Cream Cleanser - PETER THOMAS ROTH - Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Hydrating Toner Mist -The Ordinary - Salicylic Acid 2% Solution - LANEIGE - Water Bank Hydro Essence - Aesop - Seeking Silence Facial Hydrator This routine is new for me, as I recently learned oils were no good for my skin type. My previous routine included 2 oils with the same cleanser. Would love to get any feedback and or recommendations

Products that helped me with mascne (mask acne)
So I work 7 hour shifts at work as a beauty cosmetician at Shoppers Drug Mart (a Canadian version of Ulta? Or Target I guess) My skin type is combo, but more on the oilier side. Acne prone as well. Wearing masks 4-5 days a week for 7 hour shifts has really impacted and sensitized my skin. I wanted to share some products that have helped me calm down my acne and the acne scars! The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I saw this hyped up on tiktok and it seemed intriguing to me so I wanted to try. It has made a difference in my skin! I find at it helps control my oil and lightens my acne scars. #Biacna - Tretinoin 0.025% with clindamycin phosphate 1.2%[products]#[FiveStars] This topical gel has a higher level of retinol in it! I used to use 0.04% in high school but it hasn’t really made a difference now. It does dry out my skin, as a side effect but I make sure I use a more richer mosturizer when I use it (only in the night time routine). It renews my skin faster and HELPS greatly with the pigmentation my acne leaves. It has vitamin A and a thin layer is all you need. (Less is more) Btw: it’s an Rx (prescription) LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Sensitive Riche This moisturizer is the one I use in the night time when I use my Rx. In the morning, I use the fluide version as it’s the same formula but just in a gel consistency, great for summer and lightweight. It’s very hydrating and I can literally feel my skin taking in the moisture it needs from wearing a mask all day! Wearing masks have made my skin irritated, sensitive, and break out excessively. It’s got ceramides to repair the skin barrier, vitamin B3 to soothe the skin, and their La Roche Posay thermal spring water to clam and reduce irritations. The best part is: it’s Non comedogenic (always a must for my acne prone skin) Hypoallergenic Alcohol free Paraben Free Fragrance free Not wearing makeup has made a difference in my skin as well. If I want to wear makeup at work, I focus on eyeliner/ eyeshadow looks for my eyes instead. DHC - Deep Cleansing Oil THIS. IS. AMAZING. I have never tried a cleansing oil before but ITS A MUST in my night time routine. I can ACTUALLY feel the oil and dirt coming off my skin, and I do many blackheads and oil plugs have LITERALLY FELL OFF MY SKIN. My skin thanks me so much for double cleansing! This one smells like olive oil but that doesn’t bother me. It’s got no fragrance I believe and a little goes a long way. I got mine from Amazon!

🧪𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐢-𝐀𝐜𝐧𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬🧪 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐢𝐧 - patience is what you need if you want this ingredient to do wonders for your skin. great for acne and anti-aging - surely will be my bestfriend for a long time. although I think it doesn’t do much for my pigmentations, this has improved the texture of my skin tremendously. ~ 𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐨-𝐀, 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐚, 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐚 𝟎.𝟓% 𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐭 𝐙𝐢𝐧𝐜 - the underrated one. I’ve always loved zinc for my scalp. I use it for my hairline, it’s an awesome ingredient for seborrheic dermatitis (self diagnosed😅) When I learned about malassezia folliculitis (fungal acne) and I was positive I had it, I tried Zinc for my face and it totally got rid of the pustules/whiteheads. I use it in the morning while in the shower, lather and leave it for 5-10mins on the face then rinse off. Give it a week of two to do its magic. ~ 𝐕𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐙 𝐁𝐚𝐫, 𝐓𝐎 𝐍𝐢𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐝𝐞+𝐙𝐢𝐧𝐜 𝐒𝐮𝐥𝐟𝐮𝐫 - I don’t see this a lot in cosmeceutical products but it’s one amazing ingredient. Just found my lost ointment not long ago. Sulfur is antibacterial and anti-inflammatory. It’s great on absorbing excess oil too. Leave it on affected area and rinse off after 10mins. I usually use it once, but if the acne is stubborn I would use it again the next day. Sulfur speeds up the process of healing the skin. ❗️sulfur can burn the skin and you can end up with dark marks, never leave it on for more than 10mins. ~ 𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐟𝐮𝐫 𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐜 𝐨𝐱𝐢𝐝𝐞, 𝐒𝐀) 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘰𝘭𝘥 𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘴: 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐲𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐜𝐢𝐝 - excellent pore-clearing/exfoliant especially for acne prone skin 𝐍𝐢𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐝𝐞 - reduces inflammation 𝘮𝘺 𝘤𝘶𝘳𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘺 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘶𝘭𝘢: tretinoin 0.018% 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐲𝐜𝐢𝐧 -antibiotic, reduces bacteria and swelling (not for long term use) 𝐀𝐳𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐜𝐢𝐝 - anti-inflammatory , also great for rosacea sufferers
De La Cruz- Sulfur Ointment, Acne Medication, Maximum Strength
hello so! i just got on this and am beginning to try to understand skincare but am truly feeling quite overwhelmed. i have dealt with acne since i was probably 17 (i am 21 now), but have just recently become motivated to change things. mainly i deal with breakouts on my chin, and some on my forehead, along with what i think is fungal acne???? on my foreheads and temples (flesh coloured bumps). never on my cheeks my skin is so smooth there it’s almost weird compared to rest of my face . Ps a lot of what you see on my chin isn’t active acne but scarring/hyperpigmentation. i saw a doctor at one point who prescribed a cream for perioral dermatitis on my chin (Elidel) it made things significantly worse and i truly think he was wrong and it wasn’t dermatitis but acne. he also prescribed tactupump (a benzoyl peroxide) for my forehead which does little else but dry the shit out of my skin. but has anyone had long term success with it? i have noticed a significant decline in my acne when i lower my carb and sugar intake, but, i was wondering what the best skincare routine is to go along with the diet changes? i have recently been converted by drunk elephant to try to stay away from the #suspicious6 as i realized all the drugstore products i was using were loaded with these ingredients. the shift in skincare started as of july 11th (so not quite a month)— i’ve yet to see significant results but i do think they might be helping? but i’m looking for a second or third or fourth opinion i’m gonna post what i currently do for AM/PM skincare and any tips would be appreciated!! (don’t take the ratings into account too much i truly don’t know how to assess these products as i added them all into my routine at the same time and it hasn’t been that long) AM DRUNK ELEPHANT - Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser Deluxe Sample The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% (sometimes??) but i don’t know if i should combine this with niacinamide — DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA PM DRUNK ELEPHANT - Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser Deluxe Sample DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C.
