First post - My Skincare Routine

jennav_makeup
Hello! This is my first post on Cherie. I’m a licensed esthetician and makeup artist who works at Sephora. I get to try so many products and I love to write reviews/educate people on different products, ingredients and build skincare routines for people! My favorite brands are Youth To The People, Drunk Elephant, Dr Jart+, Farmacy and CeraVe. So here’s my review of my skincare routine products and how they’ve helped me control my hormonal acne! (I am 23 years old with combination oily skin and I have dealt with acne for years). DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel
Differin Gel is a fantastic over the counter retinoid available at many drugstores. It is highly effective at unclogging pores and turning over skin cells. This product causes a purge which will result in more acne at first but after about 8-12 weeks the purge will end and your acne will be reduced greatly. Differin gel helps reduce fine lines, large pores, uneven texture, hyperpigmentation and acne. I use it every other night (I use Drunk Elephant TLC serum on the nights I don’t use Differin), on clean, dry skin. I buy the 3 month supply and use a pea sized amount for application. I’ve tried Tretinoin from a dermatologist before but it was extremely irritating and I couldn’t stick to it. Differin gel is the best for sensitive, acne prone skin! FARMACY - Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm
Farmacy has fantastic clean beauty products. My favorite is their Green Clean cleansing balm. It’s a soft green sorbet with a light lime scent. It melts in your hands and applies like an oil to emulsify makeup, sun screen and pollution, and washes off like a cleansing milk, leaving skin soft and never stripped. Papaya enzyme and moringa extract detoxify the skin and echinacea calms the skin down and acts as an antioxidant. Green clean is the perfect way to remove waterproof makeup and can be used as the first step in a double cleanse. I will continue repurchasing for life because other cleansing oils just don’t make my skin feel the way this does (I have the DHC Deep Cleansing Oil and I like it but it isn’t detoxifying like Green Clean). Highly recommend! YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser
This cleanser has been a very pleasant surprise for me! I saw many rave reviews and decided to give it a go. The Youth To The People Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser has a light spinach/kale scent and foams up gently. It cleanses thoroughly without stripping the skin. I use a half a pump, not a full pump since this cleanser is a bit pricy. The entire Youth To The People line is high quality, highly effective and worth it. The brand is extremely ethical, LGTBQ+ and Black Lives Matter advocates, and completely vegan/cruelty free. They also use glass packaging and strive to be as sustainable/eco friendly as possible! (I don’t have a lot of space for these reviews but I will definitely post more in the near future!)

Updated Night Routine!
I had a lot of empties in January, so here is my updated night routine! I have a post detailing actives that I use and my schedule around those actives, so they won’t be included in this post. My first step is my double-cleansing step, I use the Dr Dennis Gross - Hyaluronic Marine Makeup Removing Meltaway Cleanser (📍)to remove SPF and makeup, which I really love, it’s very unique, but it doesn’t break me out at all. Then I use the LANEIGE - Cream Skin Milk Oil Cleanser (📍) to cleanse a second time, I really enjoy this too, my skin tends to freak out when it comes to Laneige’s fragrance, but this is fragrance-free!! After cleansing I steam my face with the Dr Dennis Gross - Pro Facial Steamer which I feel like has really helped the hydration levels of my skin. After that I’ll apply the TATCHA - The Essence Plumping Skin Softener (📍)which I also like, but I’m not sure how much it’s really done for my skin for what it’s worth. I’ll steam again, for about 30 seconds and then go into my PETER THOMAS ROTH - Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Serum which is the only serum that can truly repair my moisture barrier when I’m breaking out. Then my eye product is The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG (📍)which I’ve been loving a lot too! My current winter moisturizer is the Dr. Jart+ - Ceramidin Cream which again, I like, but it feels like it puts a barrier on my skin, which kind of felt weird to begin with. After moisturizer, my last two steps are to treat any breakouts or spots with the Murad - Blemish Control Rapid Relief Spot Treatment and use something to lock it all in like the The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Moroccan Argan Oil it does the job, but smells super weird. The only way I’ve been able to describe it is, picture the olive bar at a local grocery store, and the smell that comes from that. Not super pleasant, but it’s okay. 📍= product was sent to me for free

Easy Breezy Minimalistic Look ✨
You know your skin is happy & healthy when no filter is needed! 𝒩𝑜 𝒻𝒾𝓁𝓉𝑒𝓇, 𝓃𝑜 𝑒𝒹𝒾𝓉𝒾𝓃𝑔 - just a couple quick iPhone portrait shots. I’m not a huge selfie kind of gal; I prefer to stay behind the camera but I felt put together for a change! I have minimal makeup on - this is an easy breezy routine that will embrace your natural skin. And YES, I know my eyebrows are way overdue for a waxing, but as someone with an autoimmune illness, my health comes first. 💞 𝒲𝒽𝒶𝓉 𝐼 𝒰𝓈𝑒𝒹 I double cleanse at night so in the morning, I go in with something super gentle to just refresh my skin and remove oil from my skin. So today I used Drunk Elephant’s E-Rase Milki and then 4-5 spritz of the new Sweet B mist. Then I mixed Protini & D-Bronzi, and applied Umbra Tinte for SPF. My skin was looking extra glowy today so to tone it down and reduce the appearance of my pores, I lightly went over with Girlactik’s Luminous Face Powder in Light with a big, fluffy powder brush. Then I used KVD Vegan Beauty’s Cake Pencil in Trooper & Thrive Causemetics’ Liquid Lash Extensions mascara. For the lips, I used Jeffree Star’s Velvet Trap in Celebrity Skin with Bite Beauty’s Yaysayer Plumping Lip Gloss in Cider Donut! ✨ DRUNK ELEPHANT - E-Rase Milki Micellar Water DRUNK ELEPHANT - D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Sunshine Drops DRUNK ELEPHANT - Sweet Biome Fermented Sake Hydrating Spray DRUNK ELEPHANT - Umbra Tinte Physical Daily Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30 girlactik - Luminous Face Powder KVD VEGAN BEAUTY - Cake Pencil Eyeliner thrive causemetics - Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara™ JEFFREE STAR COSMETICS - Velvet Trap Lipstick BITE - Yaysayer Plumping Lip Gloss

My Differin Journey (9 weeks in and STRUGGLING)
Hi all, Around the first week of December 2020 I decided to start trying Differin Adapalene Gel to address my skin concerns. As some of my previous posts explain, I’ve struggled badly with oily skin, blackheads, extremely enlarged pores, and occasional acne, most of my teenage years and into my adult life (I’m 26 now). I have tried SO many products to try and help curb my issues (see previous posts for examples), and though they’ve helped a little, I’ve never been fully satisfied with the results... my skin is just stubborn! I decided to swap my retinol for Differin to see if it would target my issues a little bit better and JEEZ has this been a journey so far... So to be completely blunt, I’m discouraged. If you look at the attached photo, the picture with all the acne is me NOW. Yes, RIGHT NOW. The one WITHOUT explosive acne is my BEFORE Differin skin. Okay, now I’ll get into it... So it’s been about 9 weeks since I’ve started on Differin. In the beginning I noticed my skin was starting to feel really sensitive, which it never is. Any other product (Niacinamide, Hyaluronic Acid, etc.) felt like burning when I put it on, which is incredibly strange for me. My skin has been consistently pink ever since. I immediately stopped using any BHA, AHA or any harsh acid while using Differin and made sure to SLATHER on reparative moisturizer to help repair my skin barrier. Basically my skin routine needed to stripped to the bare minimum. Throughout the weeks, my skin flaked and peeled excessively, especially with makeup on. It looked SO dry and awful and felt stingy underneath (still does). Then about 3 weeks in, the purging started. It started off slow and erupted to where it’s at now on February 11, 2021. Purge pimples are so strange compared to my sporadic cystic acne bumps I’m used to getting. Purging shows up in a big breakout cluster of pimples, mostly small (not always), but definitely painful and brutal looking for me. Over the weeks it just got worse and worse. I’m getting pimples all in the same place for the most part — my lower cheek areas. It has been tumultuous and my skin has never looked this terrible in my whole life. I’ve done my research on Differin, and everyone says it is completely normal for your skin to get worse before it gets better (for me, A LOTTTTT worse). I’m hoping this is true because I really want to stick this out — I’ve already gone through the worst of it, might as well wait it out a bit longer. If you’re interested in Differin, just be prepared for what you’re getting into! I’m sure this will all be worth it but wanted to share my experience and help others with the SHOOKness that may or may not happen. I will definitely share updates in the future with hopefully better results! Anyone try Differin before? Was it this hard? Did your purging last this long? Words of encouragement? Thank you!! DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel

Genetic under Eye bags? What’s best!
If you’re like me, I’ve had puffy under eye area my whole life. In fact, there’s a hideous second grade photo of me that I’m sure sparked my insecurities. I have tried many products some help reduce the appearance of my under eye bags and some do absolutely NADA! Here are my top favorite products to decrease the appearance of my genetic eye puffiness. 1. belif - Eye Bomb Gwp In all my time searching. This has been the best find for me personally. When I use this cream I can definitely see that my eye puffiness went down. 2. ORIGINS - GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream to Brighten and Depuff This is my second favorite. I only put this second because I later learned that when paired with the Belif Eye Bomb, it’s perfect. This eye cream definitely brightens so you do not need much at all and keeps your under eye area brightened and lifted all day. 3. The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG My most recent discovery. This under eye solution does visibly depuff my under eye area. The consistency is not my favorite, I like thicker under eye creams. But I can say that it does make my eye area look more awakened. I read that this product takes awhile so...tbc I really hope this post helps someone like me with genetic under eye puffiness. Or atleast gives them some hope that there is a product or combination of products that helps them feel better about this unique issue.

Asking for tips/suggestions!!!
The Ordinary - Retinol 1% in Squalane haven’t used it for a long period of time to give a review. But there are times i would apply this at night and my skin is feeling soft like a baby’s butt. The way i integrate this product in my routine, is that i would use this only as my active and the rest of my skincare is gentle and basic. Cerave hydratjng cleanser, kiehls calendula toner, then this serum, and finish it with a nourishing cream such as drunk elephant lalaretro whipped cream! I know retinol can be very drying which is why i used the moisturizer that has the most beneficial ingredients. I got myself two bottles thinking i would go through this quick, but i thought wrong. Which is why i started using it on my neck every day, i have some noticeable lines that i would like to get rid of. i would buff it with the cerave lotion, and apply a few drops on the palm of my hands and apply it on my neck and chest. I only use this once a week, ive learned it the hard way and used so much actives at once that my skin became hella sensitive. Any suggestions as to how i could benefit more to this serum? YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Kombucha + 11% AHA Exfoliation Power Tonerno ratings, because i haven’t used it yet! I ended up buying the smaller bottle of it, because for now i’m finishing up the drunk elephant aha/bha serum before i could try this product out. Please give me tips on how to use it, how i can incorporate it in my routine, should i just not have bought it at all? Lol 🆘

Laneige— Sephora birthday gift!
For my birthday I was able to pick up my annual Sephora free mini gift set, and this year I chose Laneige! I really wanted to see what the hype was all about on the Lip Sleeping Mask, since it’s soooo highly rated and on Allure’s top product list! Here are my thoughts after using them for a week! LANEIGE - LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask it’s a no for me. ❌ Reason being: It actually dried my lips out. This stuff is literally just lip gloss that you put on your lips at night and that’s it. I will say that it does feel very expensive and luxurious when you put it on- but after like 3 hours of sleep, the stuff magically is gone from my lips and dried up into thin air. I’ve even tried wearing it during the day to see if I was just licking it off in my sleep, and it stilll evaporated. So, I will be sticking with my cheap Aquaphor that truly transforms my lips overnight. LANEIGE - Water Sleeping Mask also a no ❌ Reason being: when I applied this is feels NICE. It feels like a gel that’s so cooling and refreshing. It dried on my face and actually got really tight (idk if that’s supposed to happen?) and my face didn’t seem moisturized. Idk it was weird so I don’t think I would purchase again. LANEIGE - Water Bank Moisture Cream okay I won’t give it an X this time! ✅ I did enjoy this product, and really had a beautiful, dewy finish on my skin every time I used it as a moisturizer. I do feel like it gave me hydration and I liked the cooling, gel feeling of it like the sleeping mask had. Overall, I really like this stuff!

Lucious Lips 💋
First follow me for more content this like this and then go follow@RedheadSkincarebecause sis put me on to this! I got this sample from Sephora and I was this close 🤏🏾 to choosing a different gift but I remembered her review and decided to go with this set instead. Glad I chose the Laneige gift set because this did not disappoint! The directions says to wipe off the remaining amount the next morning but my lips were so dry this mask melted into my skin like buttah! A tip for anyone thinking about trying out new skincare for the first time. Always start small and get a sample or travel sizes first. Some skincare can be pricy so I like to try it out before going all in especially as someone with sensitive skin. My motto: Try Before You Buy! Can’t wait to share my thoughts on the rest of the goodies I got. ✌🏾 LANEIGE - LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask

Lit From Within Glowwww✨😍
I recently started using these 4 products for almost 2 weeks now & I’m never turning back!!! •YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Air-Whip Moisture Cream •YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superberry Hydrate + Glow Oil •YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask •Glossier. - Futuredew Oil Serum Hybrid I have never had such a consistent glow to my skin since starting these! I get complimented daily! I love these products so much. The two Youth To The People creams absorb so quickly & don’t leave it feeling like you have all this junk on your face either. My previous moisturizer would always pill up once I went to put anything else on my face & these don’t do that! The Glossier serum is also extremely light & doesn’t clog pores which is something I was worried about initially. It comes out in this pinkish color but it doesn’t turn your skin any other, it just gives you a dewy look. & the Youth To The People serum is amazing of course! It literally gives me this glow like no other! A little bit goes a very long way, as with most of their products. Now I just need to clear up the little bit of texture I have left in my chin! I blame it on the fact that I went out quite a bit the last week (church, grocery shopping, random errands) & of course wore a mask the whole time! Resulting in some maskne 😢 But that is just temporary! As is every blemish! I definitely recommend trying these products guys! They are HOLY GRAILS if there ever was one! @cherie@Cheriebeauty@CheriePick

Did you know that this oil could do THIS? 🤭
Now that I have your attention, do swipe left to experience some dream time with ✨𝕐𝕠𝕦𝕥𝕙 𝕥𝕠 𝕥𝕙𝕖 ℙ𝕖𝕠𝕡𝕝𝕖 𝕊𝕦𝕡𝕖𝕣𝕓𝕖𝕣𝕣𝕪 ℍ𝕪𝕕𝕣𝕒𝕥𝕖 + 𝔾𝕝𝕠𝕨 𝔻𝕣𝕖𝕒𝕞 𝕆𝕚𝕝 ✨ 📝Apart from excellent ingredients like maqui berries, açaí, prickly pear, squalane, and vitamin c, this oil is super light-weight and absorbs easily and beautifully into my skin. I’ve found it to be very versatile, so I will include ways in which I use it. Feel free to add some more in the comment section! 🌿As a night oil and last step in my nighttime routine 🌿Under light makeup to give an extra dewy glow 🌿On my eyelids just before I apply my eyeshadow and I’ve found that it intensifies the color! (Look at my last Dossier perfume post to see the effect on my eyeshadow) 🌿As a fortifying product to any light face cream (I add 2-4 drops into the cream and mix with my palms and then apply. I’ve found this useful for my Vegreen daily moisture cream, which I love but tends to be too light for my dry winter skin.) 🌿As part of a two-step routine for days when my skin is feeling extra sensitive and I want to keep things gentle. I would rinse my face with tepid water, apply a gentle serum and then 2-3 drops of the super berry oil. ✨Did you find any useful tips here? How do YOU use your superberry oil?✨ [AD] - #yttppartner YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superberry Hydrate + Glow Oil

YTTP Superfood Air-Whip Moisture Cream Review
[PRODUCT REVIEW] Moisturizer YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Air-Whip Moisture Cream Vegan Cruelty free Gluten free What it is: A lightweight gel-cream with Kale extracts (phytonutrients, vitamin C/E/K), green tea extracts (antioxidants) and hyaluronic acid. It claims to help fight free radicals and also replenish and support healthy skin barrier. $48/60mL (2 oz). Texture: Lightweight gel cream. Not greasy. Absorbs fast. Smells light and refreshing. My experience: It was one of my favorite moisturizers back when my skin was more oily and I didn’t have to deal with NYC winter nor staying inside with heat blowing on my face 24/7. That being said, I still like it a lot. I love the texture and the scent. It helps with my redness too. I think it’ll be a great summer moisturizer for me (mid 20s, combination textbook skin). But right now, it doesn’t lock in as much moisture as I need it to.

YTTP Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser
YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser This stuff is so great! I’ve been breaking out lately and my regular oil cleansers just didn’t cut it. I think my skin might just be purging because it wasn’t used to so much oil but who knows. But this definitely helped get rid of a lot of those breakouts. This is also so gentle it didn’t strip my skin which honestly shocked me because a lot of “gentle” cleansers absolutely kill my skin. But this is super! I read from someone’s review on here that this is an oil based cleanser according to the YTTP website but I couldn’t find out if that was true or not 🤷🏻‍♀️

Current morning & night routine ☀️🌙
Hey beauties! I wanted to share my current skin routine for morning & night, since I've updated it with some new products that I'm enjoying and it's been working for me. Hope it works for you too! :) ☀️Morning: 1. I typically don't wash my face since all I did was sleep and I do this routine pretty soon after I wake up. So the first step is really to use almost a whole pump of OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Vitamin C Serum on my whole face 2. Then I use about a dime sized amount of myKiehl's - Ultra Facial Cream 3. Glossier. - Balm Dotcom goes on my lips - I prefer either fig, birthday, berry or coconut 4. Volia! That's easy :) 🌙Evening: 1. Cleanse my face in the shower using a half pump of YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser 2. After my shower, I sometimes use my facial roller (it's SEPHORA COLLECTION - Rose Quartz Facial Rollerand Idk what to rate it as since it's the only one I have) 3. Next is the serum - depending on what's the issue; if it's acne:Glossier. - Solution Exfoliating Skin Perfector, redness and/or irritation: Glossier. - Super Pure Niacinamide + Zinc Serum, or just feels ok / needs a little something to smooth out or be more hydrated: TATCHA - The Dewy Serum Resurfacing and Plumping Treatment 4. If I want to use an eye cream, I go with the Ole Henriksen banana bright eye creme from this set: OLE HENRIKSEN - Let's Get Luminous Brightening Essentials Set it's a half size one and the set is only $40 5. Glossier. - Balm Dotcom again because it's hydrating enough for me (yes my lips do get dry since they're a little chapped when I wake up, but I don't think I necessarily need a lip mask) 6. Of course, the last step is a facial spray, and it's always my Avène - Thermal Spring Water Spraybc I can't live without it. In case you're curious, the total price for my routine is $363!! (that includes all the products I mentioned) 🤯

AM Routine to Hydrate + Reset Skin
Ive had more irritated skin that usual these days so I’ve been reaching for these products in the mornings to soothe my skin and give gentle hydration. They’re helping get my skin back on track. BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Tea Tree Cleansing Gel I got the mini tea tree set from Biossance and it has been a game changer on days when my skin is acting up. This gel cleanser gently foams, smells amazing, and really helps when I’m starting to get acne (usually just right before my period but more these days because of maskne!) Id love a travel size as I really only use this as needed a few times a month but if I were more acne prone it would be a staple Hanskin - Hyaluron Skin Essence I love this stuff! Probably not strictly necessary but the watery texture feels great and I find it helps other products, like my superfood serum sink in better BIOSSANCE - BIOSSANCE Squalane + Peptide Eye Gel YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Hydrate + Firm Peptide Eye Cream I have a lot of eye cream in my stash right now so I’ve been going crazy and using the Biossance eye gel under something richer. I like that this lets me target circles and then also intense hydration! YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Firm and Brighten Vitamin C Serum this is a great all-around serum for hydration, firming, and brightness. It’s best when used on a wet face since the HA really sucks up a lot of moisture. This serum is super gentle so I like using it when I don’t want a very active routine and want to hydrate. YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream with Ashwagandha + Reishi this baby is a staple for me! I typically use it at night year round, but this month I’ve been reaching for it in the morning too since the winter weather has made me much drier. This is so hydrating but lightweight and really soothing on the skin! BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Tea Tree Balancing Oil like the tea tree cleanser, I only use this a few times a month as needed. It does an amazing job helping to clear out oncoming breakouts. It’s lightweight, sinks in fast, and I love the tea tree smell! I’d love a .3oz size of this since I do use it so infrequently this little sample has lasted me a few months so don’t think I could ever justify buying a full bottle Hope you enjoy my routine! Let me know if you want more info on any of these products 💚

Unbelievable Result in Few days 🤤😍😍
🔗I'm making a review of this serum because lI've realized it's actually one of the best products I've ever used, and here's why. 🔗This serum can either be your favorite beauty product or something that confuses you. So lll explain how to use it properly and why it is so great. The vitamin C derivative is Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, a water soluble and stable form of vitamin C. 🖇This makes it safe for use in clear glass containers. So if you're worried about oxidation, this one should not oxidize like the notoriously unstablel- ascorbic acid. 🖇The first ingredient is water, followed by citric acid, lactic acid and malic acid. The exfoliation quality of this serum is very gentle yet effective for brightening the complexion. Many vitamin C serums are highly irritating and irritating products are not going to help your skin, there is no point in continuing use of a product that leaves you bright red and irritated constantly. 🔗This also has panthenol, two types of Hyaluronic acid and aloe Vera to hydrate the skin deeply. Peptides in the formula help to train skin cells to act younger, rebuild collagen and firm up the skin. And I have noticed that effect, my skin feels firmer. 🔗 Antioxidant rich green tea, kale and spinach provide protection against free radical damage, making this perfect for use in the daytime under SPF. So, on to how to use this. Do not apply it to dry skin or it will feel sticky. Apply this to doamp skin after cleansing, or after misting your skin with something water based like after misting your skin with something woater based like the Evian Mineral Water Facial Mist. This helps it to sink in deeply and also prevents the Hyaluronic acid from pulling water out of your skin. Trust me, this keeps the serum from feeling tacky. The feeling of this serum is wonderful, it feels refreshing and comforting. It spreads nicely since the consistency is very thin. I use 1 and a half pumps on my wet face and pat it in and l also get my neck and backs of my hands. This doesn't cause any pilling/dry skin patches; it just leaves me feeling so hydrated and ready for the day. ✅This serum is incredible. It's perfect for people with sensitive skin who want a vegan/cruelty free/silicone free serum that will hydrate, anti age and brighten the skin and protect against free radical damage. I give it 9/10 and I would repurchase, given the price is actually not terrible in comparison to so many other vitamin C serums. A little goes a long way and I enjoy using this daily! YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Firm and Brighten Vitamin C Serum

Winter is a tuff time on our skin. I suffer from roseca, eczema and in winter months my skin tends to be super dry. Here are some tips that I use to keep my skin hydrated and healthy during these months. Winter Skin Care Tips~ Sunscreen- Even though it’s not summer you still need sunscreen to protect your skin from harmful uv rays. If your looking for a good sunscreen I recommend Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 Humidifier~ The rising thermostat indoors causes dry air that sucks the moisture right out of your body. My. dermatologist recommended that I Use A humidifier in my bedroom in, to help keep my skin hydrated. I keep my humidifier on my bed side table aimed towards my face as I sleep. It has really help keep my skin hydrated all year long especially in the cold months. 🚨 Tip~ If you get a humidifier get one that you can add scent pads too. You can get vics vapor rub scent pads that help with your sinus or essential oil pads. You can get a Humidifier can Off amazon starting. at $19.99 Drink Up~ We tend to loose moisture more often during the winter months. In the summer I’m super active and I drink on a minimum of 4-5 bottles of water. In the winter months I’m just not as thirsty and find I find my myself drinking less. I use crystal light lemonade packs in my water. Limit Shower Time~ It may be tempting to take a long, steamy shower, but your skin will be much better served with a 5- to 10-minute lukewarm shower (or bath), as the AAD suggests. Hot water dries out your skin by stripping it of its natural oils. Blot your skin dry and apply a thick moisturizer within a few minutes after bathing to seal the water into the skin. This is the one Tip that is hard for me to follow. I Love a hot shower after being out in the cold. Dress Smart~ when heading outside, Make sure you bundle up and Protect your skin from the elements by wearing gear like scarfs, hats and gloves. Avoid materials that might irritate the skin. If you feel itchy under your favorite wool sweater wear a thin, breathable shirt underneath, or switch to a different material like fleece. Modify Your Skin Care Rountine~The key to having healthy and glowing winter skin is using mild skin care products. Choose cleansers that contain moisturizers to avoid stripping your skin of its natural moisture barrier. I use a cream-based cleansers, and apply toners and astringents sparingly during the winter, if at all. Many astringents contain alcohol, which can further dry your skin. When your skin is dry and itchy, the AAD recommends you stop using products that contain alcohol and fragrances in order to help skin retain its natural oils. At night, use a richer moisturizer on your face. Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40

⚡️EXFOLIATION NIGHT ROUTINE⚡️
⚡️EXFOLIATION NIGHT ROUTINE⚡️
On Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays I exfoliate!! Monday nights are the days I apply my retinol, while Thursday and Saturday I use my regular chemical exfoliant ✨ 🌿CLEANSER- Krave - Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser I LOVE this cleanser! I have combination-oily skin, but recently I’ve been trying to hydrate my skin more and it’s done WONDERS for my oil production! This cleanser is not stripping at all and leaves my skin soft and hydrated! ⚡️EXFOLIATOR- 💙RETINOL (Monday’s)- DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel I’ve been prescribed this by my doctor about a year ago and saw a huge difference with my acne. I just started using it again, and I forgot how much it helps. The only con is that I forget how drying and irritating it can be. Once a week is a good spot for me right now at this dosage. ☕️CHEMICAL- YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Kombucha + 11% AHA Exfoliation Power Toner This is my first chemical exfoliator and it’s lasting me a longgg time. I enjoy using this as it’s very good at deep cleansing my pores and getting extra dirt out of them. It has a ‘natural’ smell, aka not an amazing one. But still gets the job done! 💧SERUMS- ☁️The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I LOVE THIS it’s absolutely amazing at controlling my oil production and evening out my skin!!! I will say though, I haven’t noticed it help with my acne, but I don’t believe niacinamide is supposed to treat acne. 🌊The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5Just started using this, so can’t really rate it. But I love hyaluronic acid serums so I’m sure it’ll be great :) 💦FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum this could be so good, but I’ve noticed that it burns my face, especially my cheeks when I apply it. Shame. 👀 EYE SERUM- The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG I’ve struggled my whole teenage life with bags under my eyes. It seemed as if it didn’t matter how much sleep I got, I was always puffy and baggy. This is helping reduce the bags so much!! Bless the ordinary 🐘MOISTURIZER- DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream I have been using this for about 2.5 weeks, and i just love the look and feel of my skin after I use it and when I wake up in the morning. It’s plump and hydrated 👄LIPS- LANEIGE - LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask this is only 3 stars because honestly I get the same results if I put on carmex before bed. It’s a nice experience with the spatula applicator and everything, but it’s not worth the money.

A roundup review of some pink products I’ve been using! ACURE - Seriously Soothing SPF 30 Day Cream This SPF moisturizer boasts niacinamide and blue tansy to sooth and even skin out in addition to being a moisturizing mineral SPF. I gotta say I’m not a huge fan of moisturizing SPFs in the first place but this one looked nice to me. It’s got a thin consistency coming out the tube but as you spread it on it’s pretty thick and heavy feeling. In about the middle of the ingredients list is coconut oil, a very occlusive and comedogenic oil, so I definitely wouldn’t recommend this to anyone who is oily or acne prone, but it hasn’t broken me out at least. It’s not my favorite SPF I’ve ever used, but if my skin is super dry or sensitive I’ll use this over my others. fresh - Sugar Strawberry Exfoliating Face Wash I love this cleanser! I use it twice a week for some nice exfoliation. I’ve always preferred physical exfoliation over chemical (I know I’m in the minority here) and this one is super gentle! The sugar granules are small and dissolve pretty quickly, and the cleanser itself is a non-foaming jelly, plus it smells like a delicious strawberry smoothie. My skin doesn’t feel dry or tight at all after using it. I will definitely be purchasing the full size when I finish this! FARMACY - Very Cherry Bright 15% Clean Vitamin C Serum with Acerola Cherry This is the serum that changed my opinion about serums! I used to avoid them because I hated the sticky feeling they would leave on my skin, but my skin had been lackluster and I wanted to add a vitamin C to my routine. This serum is amazing y’all! It’s only 15% vitamin C derived from cherries, so it’s gentle and natural, plus it has 4 different derivatives of hyaluronic acid. It just smooths over my skin like butter, I love it, I use it as needed for extra hydration or if I just wanna feel extra glowy, plus it smells so good and sweet! I’m glad I took this plunge, I highly recommend it! ORIGINS - Retexturizing Mask with Rose Clay I’ve only used this mask twice but so far it’s been really nice. I am a masker, always have been, and while clay masks aren’t really my go-to since I have dry skin, I’m glad I have just this one. It really tightens up my pores and my skin just feels sooo smooth after. It is a bit drying after washing it off but after serum and moisturizer it’s not an issue, and when I wake up my skin feels smooth and clear. Overall i think it does what it claims to do very well!

I have sensitive combination skin that is acne-prone. I was dealing with a lot of hormonal acne as well but I’ve finally gotten it a bit more under control but do get breakouts and acne scars still. I’m also very sensitive to fragrance. Recently I bought a few products from Krave and I never plan on going back. They don’t have the fullest range just yet but the products they do have are total rockstars in affordability and ingredients. 🌱 Krave is all about taking a clean break. There are a lot of misconceptions and nasties in the skincare world that are not needed and not smart. Krave is all about taking a break from that and resetting. Here are my current favorites: ✨Great Barrier Relief Serum $28 for 1.52 fl oz 🔑 Key Ingredients: Tamanu Oil, Safflower Oil, Rosehip Oil, Vitamin B3, Ceramide These ingredients are for skin regeneration, hyperpigmentation, anti-aging, brightening, acne-fighting and generally repairing a damaged skin barrier. This serum is turning into an all time favorite between the ceramide and niacinamide ingredient list. I actually use this after a lighter Vitamin C serum during the morning on my mask area and I think it’s been really helping to create a barrier and prevent breakouts from constant mask wearing. This product is great for mimicking your skin’s natural moisture barrier so it’s great for skin that needs help from too many actives, sunburn, etc. ✨The Beet Shield $20 for 50ml 🔑 Key Ingredients: Beet root, Allantoin, Vitamin C, Resveratrol and EGCG. This daytime fluid has ingredients that overall give skin antioxidants, prevent signs of aging, soothe skin, fight free radicals, reduce pigmentation, reduce blemishes and moisturize. This is a chemical screen that is very lightweight. It doesn’t leave skin sticky or leave a white cast. It also has Vitamin C which I love! I feel like using this and their serum has maintained my clear skin even with the mask. Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser $16 for 4.05 fl oz 🔑 Key Ingredients: Matcha, hemp seeds, oats, almonds, Vitamin B5 and Sodium PCA. ✨This cleanser is stunning. It is highly hydrating and skin barrier friendly. This can be used morning and night and a little goes a long way. The normal amount I’ve used in the past covered my fave, neck, chest and back so I’ve been able to use less by using this product as well. It doesn’t strip the skin and packs a gorgeous punch of antioxidants and hydration while cleansing. Perfection. ♻️ You can also choose carbon offset shipping for $1 more when ordering from them and the products come in a 100% recyclable carton with no excess fillers. Review my routine!
Review my routine!
Hello everyone, I am going to show you my routine every night, I hope you can read it and my thoughts will help you! remember each product works differently depending on your skin type. 〰️ 〰️ 〰️ 1️⃣ I start by washing my face with fresh - Soy Makeup Removing Face Wash I really enjoy using this cleanser, It is my favorite since it leaves my skin super clean and refreshing, it has a cucumber smell that I love. 〰️ 〰️ 2️⃣ my next step is to spray YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Soothe + Hydrate Activated Mist with Reishi + Ashwagandha , I use this once I get my face clean and let it dry, also this is wonderful as a last step in my skin care routine in case I do a chemical peel or an enzyme powder to exfoliate. 〰️ 〰️ 〰️ 3️⃣ my third step I only do it when I have dark spots ( thanks to my hormonal acne) on my skin, and I really like Kiehl's - Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution It feels super light, dries very quickly and I have noticed a difference in the area of my cheek where I have had dark spots. 〰️ 〰️ 〰️ 4️⃣ my fourth step is to apply my moisturizer GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturizer This is my favorite light weight moisturizer. It doesn’t feel heavy on the skin, it doesn’t freak out my oily T zone but still leaves my dry skin feeling nourished. 〰️ 〰️ 〰️ 5️⃣ don't forget to hydrate your lips 👄 so lastly I use LANEIGE - LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask Leaves my lips super hydrated, soft, I am so happy with this product, since I started using it the skin on my lips does not break like Before. if you got to last part, I hope it helps you some of my routine. 👏🏻 Thank you!

😎Complete skincare routine fo
😎Complete skincare routine for under $100 USD 😎. I wanted to put together an affordable starter skincare routine for someone with my skin type - acne prone/hormonal/sensitive. Truthfully I think this would work for almost anyone 😊 Here are my recommendations; 1. Double cleansing is essential. I chose this Cerave Hydrating Cleanser because it’s versatile and you can use it to remove makeup/spf and you can use it as your second cleanser too. You can also use this in the am. It’s super gentle and versatile. $15.99 CAD from Shoppers Drug Mart. 2. I’m obsessed with the Mad Hippie Vitamin C serum for the morning. It’s super gentle, lightweight, brightening and gives you some nice antioxidants to defend against pollution throughout the day. $36.99 CAD on iherb 3. Acne prone/sensitive skin needs moisture! You want to make sure your skin barrier is healthy to heal up any irritation or breakouts. Bioderma Sensibio Light Soothing Cream - I chose this over the FAB Barriair that I am obsessed with because of the price point ($24.90 vs. $37), but truthfully the FAB could possibly be a better value since the Sensibio doesn’t seem to last all that long. Both are great options though.
