What are you hoping Santa brings? 🎅🏻
With December soon to be here and after reviewing the 2020 including my favourite products of this year it got me thinking: what beauty products are everybody hoping Santa brings this year? In my house Santa (my husband 😂) and I exchange Christmas wishlists each year and what I’m hoping will be under the tree on Christmas Day is: 🎄 ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Norvina Eyeshadow Palette 🎄 fresh - Vitamin C Glow Moisturizer 🎄 OLE HENRIKSEN - Let's Get Luminous Brightening Essentials Set 🎄evo - Bruce 38 natural bristle brush What are you wishing for this Christmas — skincare, makeup, hair care? A bit of them all like me? Tell me what’s on your Christmas wishlist or do your own post and tag 🏷 Christmas wishlist

My beauty year in review 👏🏻
From starting 2020 with a seven day old newborn baby and all the crazy hormones and changes to my body, skin and hair which goes with a new baby (yes, this is why I look exhausted and have something spilt on my top in the February photo 🙈😂) to a global pandemic which resulted in my husband working from home and suddenly needing to learn how to homeschool my older daughter this year has been crazy and challenging to adjust and find the right balance. Inspired by joining Cherie I completely overhauled my skin routine while stuck at home during lockdown and went from a basic routine to learning how to read ingredient lists and incorporating serums and actives into my skincare to address my changing skin postpartum and also due to ageing now I’m in my 30’s. Once my skin started looking and feeling brighter and healthier I was able to jump back into my love of makeup which I hadn’t had the energy to do in over a year while I was pregnant and with a new baby which is a great creative outlet for me and really helps my self esteem ☺️ The more I’ve focused on taking the time for self-care the better frame of mind I’ve been in (which is so important as someone who suffers with anxiety and OCD and needs to manage stress well to keep my anxious habits in check) and the better person I’ve been able to be for everybody around me. I’ve also been lucky enough to join the Cherie creators team and get to know an amazing group of girls including @Jillianb1@LindseyRR@D.Bennett@madihomewood@Beautycation_by_shruti@christyr@emiskiier27@bealizbeauty@BeautyRoams@JaNeeReviewsand @Tangibeautywho have given me so much inspiration in my beauty journey this year ✨ So to finish off my year in review here are my top five new products I’ve tried in 2020 🥳 🏆 SOL de Janeiro - Brazilian Kiss Cupuaçu Lip Butter 🏆 alkira - Mineral Radiance Facial Masque 🏆 The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA 🏆 GO-TO - Face Hero 🏆 tarte - Maneater Mascara

L’Oreal Colorista washout dye — any good? 🤷🏻♀
Sooo a couple months back on a whim while bored at home I decided to use L’Oreal Colorista washout hair colour to dye my hair blue. L’Oreal claim these colours wash out in 5 to 20 washes and that the red colours hold for longer particularly on light hair so given I wasn’t using red and my hair was virgin untreated light to medium brown I was expecting that by the time I’d washed my hair a dozen times the colour should be gone. My impressions and experience: ❤️ PROS ❤️ Leaves hair soft and hydrated initially Reasonably priced (AU$14 for a 80ml tube compared to Manic Panic which is around AU$25 for a 118ml tub) 💙 CONS 💙 Colour is much greener than expected (colour used is called Denim Blue and you can see from the box and chart it appears much bluer) Incredibly messy and colours everything it touches! It literally turned my entire body blue everywhere the water ran while rinsing it out which I’ve never experienced with any other hair colour. My back and legs were blue for almost a week afterwards 😢 Transfers onto everything after use — every time I touched my hair it discoloured my nail polish top coat and every pillow case I’ve used for two months afterwards has been turned blue 🤦🏻♀️ I’ve washed my hair at least 20 times since the beginning of September and the colour is still not completely gone — given the colour was applied to virgin hair so there was nothing to interact with the colour I’d be concerned what this would do to hair that was currently or previously colour treated! Hydration was short lived and my hair felt drier than normal after a couple washes So I’m sure you can guess based on the mess, transfer and fact that my hair still has a slightly green undertone that this isn’t a product I’d recommend 🙅🏻♀️

VITAMINS are a must!
I’ve been using vitamin C products for over 3 years and it’s become one of the most beneficial ingredients to incorporate into my routine. I use pure vitamin C oils or serums and have noticed such a big difference in my skins texture and brightness. These are my fav vitamin C products: OLE HENRIKSEN - Truth Serum THE inkey LIST - Vitamin C Serum 30ml OLE HENRIKSEN - C-Rush Vitamin C Gel Moisturizer I started using retinol (vitamin A) about 1.5 years ago and I wish I started in my early 20s! I absolutely love retinol and how well it works for acne prone skin. My blemishes have been SO much more controlled now that I use retinol daily and my skin also looks so much smoother and more even. These are my fav retinol products: THE inkey LIST - Retinol Anti-Aging Serum DRUNK ELEPHANT - A-Passioni Retinol Cream KNC BEAUTY - All Natural Retinol Infused Eye Mask Niacinamide (vitamin B3) was the last vitamin I started incorporating into my routine and that was about 8 months ago. Niacinamide has quickly become my fav ingredient to use because of the fact that I saw results so quickly! I’ve gotten so many compliments on my skin ever since I started using Niacinamide. My blemishes are all gone, my skin looks smooth and clean, and my skin looks brighter. These are my fav Niacinamide products: The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% THE inkey LIST - Niacinamide Oil Control Serum FIRST AID BEAUTY - Eye Duty Niacinamide Brightening Eye Cream I’m always on the internet trying to find graphs and charts to help me better understand the products and ingredients I use.

How to exfoliate body safely.
Okay so I struggled with hyperpigmentation, cellulite, strawberry legs, and dry skin (a lot I know). I always felt like it was a way to get results and try and better my skin so I did a lot of research, even in different cultures. So, when I came across the Japanese Salux clothes I was highly excited! It’s a microdermabrasion cloth that exfoliates and cleanses your body really well. I bought 2 for $9 off of amazon prime and I haven’t stopped using them since. The great things about these are they are self cleaning, last for months, and even come in a variety of colors. WARNING: they are kind of rough! I used it with Dove beauty cleansing bar and an amazing lotion I also bought from Amazon (I’m a Amazon junkie). The lotion is; ALPHA SKIN CARE - Revitalizing Body Lotion . AHA are really good exfoliating acids that help your body replenish and resurface your skin cells. There are three layers to your skin Epidermis, Dermis, and Hypodermis. When worrying about stretch marks and things of that nature you want to focus on your dermis and epidermis. These products helps to exfoliateTHE SALUX SHOP - Nylon Washcloths to this level (only the top layer of dermis) and makes it a quicker way to get the skin you want!

I don't have the Kylie's figure, but I can follow her eye makeup👀
I always like Kylie's eye makeup and figure! Since there is no way to have same figure, I am gonna get the same eye makeup. This kind of makeup looks difficult, but it is actually quite easy to learn. Step 1: Use an orange and brown eye shadow to base the eyelids in a large area. Step 2: Make a cut crease with bright concealer. This step is very essential which helps create clean eye base. The eye concealer brush I used is BOBBI BROWN - BOBBI BROWN Concealer Blending Brush Step3 :From left to right, apply light pink and green eyeshadow. Light green is used to faint the connecting part in the middle. And then add green glitter. Step 4: Draw eyeliner and apply mascara. Products: Eyebrow pencil: MAYBELLINE - Expert Wear Twin Brow & Eye Wood Pencil Light Brown Concealer: KRYOLAN PROFESSIONAL MAKE-UP - Concealer Circle Mascara: MAYBELLINE - Lash Sensational Mascara Full Fan Effect Contour: CATRICE COSMETICS - Prime & Fine Professional Contouring Palette Eyeliner: MAYBELLINE - Eye Studio Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner Eyeshadow: MORPHE - The Jeffree Star Artistry Palette

❌Ingredients NOT meant to be mixed! ❌
It’s so important to know what ingredients work well together, which ones cancel each other out, and which ones work against each other and ruin your skin. This is one of the most helpful graphs I’ve seen I used to not think much of it until I learned the hard way and got irritations/breakouts. Now that I think back on it, it only makes sense to educate yourself on what ingredients and products work well with each other.
$25 vs $10 MASCARA DUPE 🛍
Too Faced’ Better Than Sex mascara and the L’Oréal Voluminous Lash Paradise not only look very similar but perform pretty identical as well! A minor difference includes the BTS mascara having a heavier tube than the VLP. When it comes to performance; BOTH: Create multidimensional volume Available in a waterproof formula Flake slightly at the end of the day Better Than Sex Too Faced - Better Than Sex Mascara : Curls the lash Contains peptides that nourish the lash Clumps Harder bristle Voluminous Lash Paradise L'ORÉAL - Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara : Lengthens lashes No clumping Softer bristle These two mascaras are both great for different reasons it just depends on what you are ultimately looking for in a mascara. I prefer the Voluminous mascara for it providing added length to my lashes. Have you tried both? Which do you prefer? (These are my experiences with using both mascaras)
