Next on my list to review....
Here's my latest skin haul awaiting to arrive in the mail. I'll be trying and reviewing to give you my truthful opinion on how these work for me and why I think they are (or are not) a good product. Have you personally tried any of these? Sound off in the comments your thoughts. Give me time to get through each of these products since I'll be trying them out for atleast a week at a time.
One month later
Since my last post my routine has been all over the place. Cleansers: CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin3 times a week PanOxyl - Acne Foaming Wash Benzoyl Peroxide 10% Maximum Strength4 times a week Treatment: 0.0025% tretinoin 3 times a week. I use after the CeraVe Krave - Great Barrier Relief my skin was struggling in Dec so I purchased this in order to heal my moisture barrier, which was damaged. My skin is now doing better and am back on using my stronger treatments and products above. Moisturizer: FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream SPF: CeraVe - AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 Along with everything I have been on 100mg of Spironolactone since Jan 8th. I do believe my skin is flaring up because of it and it will until my body adjusts to it. I am having a hard time handling the hyperpigmentation on my face from last acne, or so I believe it’s hyperpigmentation. I know there is light at the end of the tunnel. I have been on spiro in the past and it did wonders for my skin, so I look forward to this journey. Will post updates as I see improvements or needed!

FULL Gentle Hydrating Skincare Routine
This has kind of been the theme of my entire Cherie page since its creation, but I’ve been needing to really hydrate my skin more since the weather’s become colder. Having rosacea means I always need to do extra research on the products I try. So after some experimenting, trying a LOT of new products, and deciding to stick to some old favorites, this is the routine I’ve come up with for myself: AM Routine Cleanser - Inkey Oat Cleansing Balm: A recent switch for the winter. Leaves my skin feeling nourished and hydrated, but doesn’t tackle my acne very effectively. Might switch back to my old cleanser (Cosrx Good Morning Gel) and just use this when my skin is feeling tight/for double cleansing. Toner - FAB Wild Oat Ultra Hydrating Toner: Another recent switch. This toner is so hydrating that I don’t need to use hydrating masks or overnight creams as frequently as I used to and it’s very calming. Serum - Peach & Lily’s Glass Skin Refining Serum: This is definitely worth the hype. My skin has been noticeably smooth since using it. Spot Treatment - TULA Go Away Acne: Uses benzoyl peroxide to work on acne which can interfere with rosacea, so I don’t use this on my cheeks but it works well in other areas. Not a repurchase for me. Eye Cream - Cetaphil Deep Hydration Refreshing Eye Serum: I said recently that eye cream doesn’t work for me, but I’m starting to get wrinkles under my eyes and thought it was important to kick up the hydration and attention. This one is quite gentle and pretty affordable. Moisturizer - CeraVe Facial Moisturizing Lotion: Undefeated! If I need some extra hydration I’ll add a couple drops of Leo Oil and mix on my hand using my ring finger. Sunscreen - EltaMD SPF 46 on days with no makeup or ILIA Serum Skin Tint: Both are mineral sunscreens and unscented with protection in the 40s. PM Routine Cleanser - The Inkey List Oat Cleansing Balm: ...and I’ll double cleanse with my old Cosrx Good Morning Gel if I wore makeup that day. Toner - FAB Wild Oat Ultra Hydrating Toner Serum - Paula’s Choice CALM 1% BHA Lotion Exfoliant or 10% Azelaic Acid Booster: I like to alternate between these two serums. The BHA (salicylic acid) targets pores and redness. The Azelaic Acid Boost contains salicylic acid too, but is more effective at targeting rosacea specifically. Eye Cream - Veriphy 20/20 Eye Cream: Received this as a gift and I actually really like it! Contains ingredients like peptides, niacinamide, and cucumber extract. But it’s wildly expensive and I won’t be able to repurchase. Moisturizer - CeraVe Facial Moisturizing Lotion + Astrologiens Leo Oil: At night I always combine these two if I’m not using my Naturium Sleeping Cream (2 pumps + 2 drops). I have individual reviews on a number of these products, so if you’re interested in learning more about something feel free to check those posts out or just ask a question here :) Most of these products are generally rosacea and sensitive skin safe. I have type 1 rosacea for reference.
FAB Instant Oatmeal Mask: Honest Review
FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Instant Oatmeal Mask Oats are one of my favorite ingredients for soothing the skin. They’re gentle, provide hydration, and even help clarify the skin. This mask is meant to be left on for 10 minutes and has small bits of oats in it. After removing the mask, my skin does feel smooth and hydrated, but not nearly as much as I would hope. My comparison point is the Kiehl’s avocado mask, and while this FAB mask does hydrate my skin it doesn’t pack the punch I was hoping for. For heavier duty hydration, I’ll turn back to Kiehl’s or Naturium’s sleeping cream. I think this mask may be preferable for more oily skin types needing just a small boost for the winter or for hydration during warmer seasons when my skin isn’t so dry. As always, this mask is rosacea and sensitive skin safe. I don’t think I’ll be buying it again unless there’s another big sale (this was 40% off) during a warmer season, but I’m going to continue using this whenever I just want to add something gentle to my routine for the day! If you want an oat product from FAB, I would highly recommend their toner instead. Since incorporating the FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Wild Oat Hydrating Toner into my skincare routine, my skin has been so much more hydrated and happy. This mask is $24 whereas the toner is $22, so it’s also a little cheaper. 😉 What was your experience like with this mask? Do you have any hydrating masks to recommend for sensitive skin types?
Toners for Dry Skin
Product Claims: A concentrated essence that helps to visibly smooth texture, improve tone, increase hydration, and help protect from environmental stressors at the same time. Product target concerns: Pores, Dryness, and Dullness and Uneven Texture Texture: watery, non-viscous liquid Thoughts: straight forward essence with great ingredients. I use this in the morning and it is amazing for hydration. It has lotus seeds, which helps increase hydration and help defend against environmental factors. Essences also allow for the following products after it to absorb better. Can be used daily. I would recommend to others: Yes for those that are willing to splurge on an essence. There are others in the market that feel the same for less. Price: $58.00 for 150ml

I did some experimenting with all these our thray beauty products, it was pretty fun. I mixed a 1-2 drops from a few different bottles to create a customized lotion, which I used as a serum step, then followed up with my moisturizer. These products are meant to be used as moisturizers, and their definitely moisturizing, but the texture was so light that even using them underneath a moisturizer didnt feel tacky or sticky or too heavy at all. The texture absorbed really well for lotion, and felt really refreshing! In the future I’d probably use them as the moisturizing step in my routine and use actual serums underneath because since they’re moisturizers, they probably wont travel as deep down the epidermis to give the same hydration a serum does, but I think I will always mix the different milks together depending on what I want that day 🧖🏼♀️ Matcha 💚- energizing and moisturizing, best to use in the morning Turmeric🧡- brightening and illuminating, could use day or night Papaya❤️- revitalizing moisturizer, night time for resurfacing Watermelon 💕- hydrating moisturizer, day or night Acai 💜- moisturizing antioxidant, beat for day time I really enjoyed the textures of these 🙋♀️

Products that I will non-stop repurchasing!
I have super dry skin. So I need skincare products that are super hydrating to protect my skin especially in winter. I have tried a lot of stuffs and these two are my favourtes that I will keep repurchasing them for million times. DECORTÉ - Liposome Moisture Serum It's lightweight that won't ball up on face. But it's hydrating enough for dry skin. It can obviously improve your skin since it's so moisturizing. When I use this in winter morning before using makeup products, it's easier for me to make a perfect base makeup that won't be cakey at all. Besides hydration, I don't feel any other effects of this products, neither brightening nor helping with fine lines and wrinkles. But I still love it. It's the saviour for people who have dry skin just like me. belif - The True Cream-Moisturizing Bomb It's very good for all skin types to use. It's weightless but hydrating enough. So for oily skin, it won't be sticky and greasy. And for dry skin, it's super moisturizing! It's the best cream moisturizer I have ever used. It's calming when I apply it and after blending it, I can barely feel it on my face. Recommend to anybody!

murad - City Skin Overnight Detox Moisturiser. MY RESULTS: 🧡 I’ve been using this product for 6 months now so it’s had a good test. 🧡 Like I mentioned for the Retinol cream it’s all encased which I love. 🧡 It’s a rich cream but it absorbs quickly and doesn’t feel heavy or leave an oily greasy residue. It also has a zesty scent which I love. 🧡 Since using this there has been a definite improvement in the dark spots from sun damage years ago. My skin looks a lot brighter now. 🧡 When I wake up in the morning my skin is hydrated and plump and was a lot brighter after the first use, but I saw more obvious differences in after a month of use. 🧡 This product didn’t cause me any irritations or side effects that you can normally experience when using Vitamin C products. 🧡 Like the Retinol Cream this product layers really well with serums and oils. I usually apply serums 5 minutes before following products, I’ve found this prevents products from pilling, and if I want to use an oil for an extra boost of hydration I just add a drop of two into the cream.
Murad-City Skin Overnight Detox Moisturizer
Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum It’s enriched in viniferine, extract from grapevine sap, that helps with dark spots and Olive Squalane that moisturizes, Supposedly, this serum was tested in 60 patients by 9 dermatologists for three months . 70% of these people saw their dark spots disappeared, and 80% of the people saw a decrease in dark spot appearance. 💖My Thoughts; This has a very light scent and I use this AM and PM. I love it! My skin tone has been exceptionally more brighter and smoother. It hydrates my skin very well all day. I highly recommend this product. Caudalie Beauty Elixir Mist is rich in grapes, rosemary, and rose oil. It is supposed to hydrate, tone, give radiance, and set makeup. 💖My Thoughts: I have used this product for about 5 years, and it has been my go to mist. I love it! It is actually one of my HG mists. It gives my skin this radiant glow and hydrates my skin exceptionally. I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a good mist. Caudalie Moisturizing Sorbet Cream:It has organic Camomile, organic grape water, vinolevure, polyphenols. It claims to hydrate and moisturize skin while maintaining suppleness. 💖My thoughts: this is a great moisturizer for sensitive skin. It moisturizes and leaves my skin comfortable the whole day. ✨Instant detox mask: It has grape marc and pink clay. It is supposed to detox your skin from impurities. I bought the trio masks from them a while back, and tried them. Clay masks make my skin very dry. So, I haven’t even opened this yet. I probably won’t use this big tube because I don’t mask often. If you know me, I only mask once a week or none at all!!

What does it do? Rose
Rosewater, rosehip oil, rose essential oil, and the list goes on ... Roses have been an essential beauty product for centuries From perfume to oils to face creams to medicine, it has been in something. So for this “What does it do?,” I decided to breakdown the properties of roses in skin care. I mean roses may smell nice, but what can adding it to your routine do for you? Let’s talk about it ... What does it do for the skin? Roses are full of antioxidants, essential fatty acids, vitamins and minerals. They also have antibacterial, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory benefits. Antioxidants help your skin fight against free radicals, which can reduce the strength of your skin. Basically, look younger for longer. (Is there a way to get an IV of this stuff? 😂) Rose byproducts tens to be used by people of all skin types: dry, combination, normal, oily, sensitive and mature. Smelling like roses: Rosehips are packed full of high levels of vitamin C, which is why the oil has recently been suggested to help with hyperpigmentation. Vitamin A also may treat the appearance of lines and wrinkles and other visible signs of aging. The oil from roses also moisturizes your skin and protects your skin from moisture loss. It also keeps free radicals and toxins out. Actual rosewater hydrates your skin, provides antibacterial help while it regulates your skin’s pH. Talk about a multitasker! Your roses really smell like: Because of the growing numbers of people with a smell sensitivity, I am sure there are people who have experienced a negative reaction. Now let’s talk about the two products I decided to highlight: 🌹 fresh - Rose Deep Hydration Toner is a daily toner that should hydrate and balance your skin. It comes in two sizes. (Previous review on Dec. 9.) MY THOUGHTS: I opened this toner a few months ago and I still really like it. The rose smell isn’t in your face like other rose toners. (I mean it is a toner, not perfume.) The petals in the toner are a nice touch, but when you start to get to the bottom of the bottle, it can distort the color more and look ... not the best. Recommend? Yes! 🥀 fresh - Rose & Hyaluronic Acid Deep Hydration Moisturizeris a lightweight gel that is infused with “advanced hyaluronic acid and time-release hydro-patches” to give you 24-hour hydration. Fresh says hydro-patches “form a protective moisturizing veil to help attract and retain moisture.” (Can I apply hydro-patches to my dating life?) It comes in three sizes ranging from $15 to $68. MY THOUGHTS: I like the consistency of this cream. I was keeping this face cream in the fridge, but it was harder to immolate. It can also pill when it is layered over something it doesn’t agree with. Recommend? If you have the money to spend, then yes. Fun rose trivia: • There are 150 species of roses. • It is the only vegetable oil that naturally contains retinol. Note: I got both in a Sephora set.
