Summer Days “CC Me Serum” ✨
✨What is it? •Summer Days SUMMER FRIDAYS - CC Me Vitamin C Serum is a Vitamin C Serum. It is targeted for Combination, oily, dry, normal, and sensitive skin. It has a thin gel feeling leaving your skin soft and smooth. It helps with brightening your skin and keeping it hydrated. Making your skin very even. It delivers instant brightness and makes little spots disappear. •Packed with Squalane to lock-in moisture for that extra glow and to protect against free radicals, along with clinically-proven peptides to promote youthful looking skin (as said on the website) which I find extremely true! ✨How to use: •After you have cleansed your skin, make sure that your skin is completely dry, afterwards apply your serum. It is a pump lid, not a squeeze so you can easily pump it on your face where you would like it. After you apply it - apply your moisturizer 🧴. ✨It is... Vegan, Cruelty-Free, Paraben Free, Brightening, Hydrating, and Anti-aging. I highly recommend this product. It has done everything it says!

Skincare Truths from an Esthetician
One of the first things my teacher harped about was the importance of checking the ingredient list on products! Some brands (even from Sephora) are marketing-based, not fact or science-based. I’m not going to sit here and tell you what brands to avoid, but in this post I will touch on the ingredients that you should avoid while purchasing any sort of skincare. Sulfates (SLS) ex- sodium laureth sulfate. Sulfates strip the skin of its natural moisture and the skin’s acid mantle (protective barrier- more on that in a diff. post) which irritates the skin more. And by disrupting our natural moisture levels and the acid mantle we are throwing of the natural pH of the skin (4.5-5.5). Fragrance -also stated as Perfume or Parfum. Fragrance in skincare products is the biggest cause of contact dermatitis (red, itchy, sometimes inflamed rash). Fragrance includes most, but not all essentials oils. When fragrance is present in a product, companies will “disguise” it by using the scientific name. For example, lavender extract is lavandula angustifolia on ingredient lists. With that being said, you never truly know what is in a fragrance and it can vary from brand to brand. The FDA doesn’t require listed fragrances to be specific as to what’s really in it. Watch out, because some brands will not have “fragrance” or “parfum” listed, they will just have the scientific name of the fragrance. Most commonly found in: cleansers, toners, creams. Parabens ex- methylparabens, butylparabens, propylparabens. Parabens are a preservative to increase the shelf-live of products. Parabens have been linked to reproductive and fertility issues among women and has also shown links to breast cancer as this preservative can interrupt hormonal balance within the body. Most commonly found in: cleansers (mostly milky cleansers), and face masks. If you found this helpful and would like to hear more on ingredients to avoid, let me know😊
skin brightening combo ✨
In love with a good hydrating and brightening serum combo for the AM! I’ve been using these two products together for the past month and let’s say it’s been doing me ~wonders~. The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 My skin instantly feels plump and hydrated when I apply this!🙌 It’s a little bit tacky, but I don’t mind it. SUNDAY RILEY - C.E.O. Rapid Flash Brightening Serum This serum is light weight and soaks well into my skin. After application I feel dewy and it’s perfect to wear under makeup. After one month of use, I can tell my dark spots have lightened significantly and overall skin tone has evened out. $Spendy$ This serum is $80/1oz! I was gifted this item and I feel like the price is pretty high for what you get. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t purchase again because of that.

I realllly wanted to love these makeup wipes
I’m a big fan of PCA Skin and I realllllly wanted to love their new Makeup Removing Wipes but they really fell short for me. After having a bad reaction to another brand’s makeup wipes, I was eager to try PCA Skin’s because of their calming fragrance-free formula and the fact that they are designed for sensitive skin (they contain oat kernel extract to cleanse the skin and aloe/cucumber extract to hydrate, soothe and prevent irritation.) They have a nicer texture than traditional makeup wipes and are a bit tougher. I tried my best to capture its woven, gauze-like texture in the featured pic. I can attest to the fact that the wipes are kinder to the skin and deliver the soothing and hydrating benefits that they claim, but I can’t really vouch for the makeup-removing abilities. This is especially the case when it comes to mascara. The wipes kind of move makeup around without actually removing anything, which resulted in a lot of rubbing to try and get my waterproof mascara off. I followed up with a cleansing balm and cleanser to finally remove all of the mascara from my lashes and water line. If you’re in a pinch, these are fine to remove makeup, but I wouldn’t recommend these if you’re trying to take off heavy-duty makeup. Plus, they’re $20 which isn’t the kindest to your wallet.
