My full current routine
My skin is very acne prone skin and has been as long as I can remember, yet I’ve never been able to find anything that really works, you know? Thus, I’ve decided to put my current routine out there in the hopes that someone, anyone might be able to offer some advice or tips to help. Morning:
wash with the 3.5%Neutrogena - Rapid Clear Stubborn Acne Cream Cleanser(I’ve searched for a 10% formula but I guess it’s not carried in Canada)
tone withpixi - Glow Tonicwith 5% glycolic. Sometimes I also use THAYERS - Lavender Facial Tonerbut not as often anymore
mix 3 drops of lavido - Invigorating Facial Serumwith 3 drops of íUNIK - Tea Tree Relief Serumand a pump of vitamin C serum from a local brand called Truly Lifestyle Brand. I’m not sure it’s the best to mix my serums like that but hey. Also the vitamin C serum is a 17% concentration.
moisturize with Cetaphil - DermaControl Oil Control Moisturizer SPF 30. I actually do feel as if this has helped my acne but I could just be imagining it; I used to believe that my old moisturizer broke me out before I switched to this one. Sometimes I feel dry since it’s oil absorbing I guess but it’s not frequent.
lastly isOLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Eye Crème; I don’t suffer from dark under eyes but I still like this one.Evening:
wash with same neutrogena face wash
tone with pixi toner
I used to use the proactiv md 3 step routine and although I don’t use the cleanser and rarely use the sunscreen-moisturizer, I recently started using the proactiv - Adapalene Gel 0.1% Acne Treatmentagain
use the same serums minus the vit c serum
moisturize with the CAUDALIE - Vineactiv 3 in 1 Vitamin C Anti-Wrinkle Moisturizer. I’m not concerned about anti-aging, I was recommended this for helping with the skin barrier. Sometimes for nighttime I also mix this moisturizer with the LANEIGE - Cica Sleeping Maskor SUMMER FRIDAYS - Jet Lag Mask
spot treat overnight with CLINIQUE - Acne Solutions Clinical Clearing GelWeekly:
one or twice a week, surprise surprise, I use The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution for my pores and to fade my dark spots.
usually once a week, sometimes twice I use the AZTEC SECRET - Indian Healing Claywith acv
a bit less frequently I use the alya skin. - Skin Pink Clay Mask, this one I feel is less effective than the Aztec clay mask but I still like itIt might also be worth mentioning that I also have been taking 30mg of zinc which I heard helps with acne, and in the mornings I drink a mixture of acv, lemon juice, turmeric, and cayenne in hot water. I also used to juice celery but I don’t have a juicer right now so haven’t been doing that recently. I feel like that’s enough information but I love getting advice about skincare and talking about it so I’d be happy to give more info if anyone would like it😊😊

Reviewing My Followers Skincare Routines pt. 4
Hey ya’ll! In part 4 of Reviewing My Followers Skincare Routines we’re reviewing @Raks and @juliachristine’s skincare routines. Starting with @Rakswho reached out to me via Cherie message because she started skincare about a year ago because of her upcoming wedding. She starts by cleansing with theThursday Plantation - Tea Tree Face Wash Foam which costs $8.99 for 5.1 fl oz. This cleanser is very basic. It has tea tree oil, and eucalyptus oil. My issue is with the eucalyptus oil, which is a very irritating essential oil right up there with lemon oil and peppermint oil. If this doesn’t irritate your skin then it’s a great cleanser, but I can’t recommend it to those with sensitive skin. Then she goes in with 4 serums. First is thepura d'or - 20% Vitamin C Serum which costs $14.99 for 4 fl oz. This is a really good serum. It has aloe vera juice, glycerin, jojoba oil, and argan oil which are hydrating ingredients, and then it has hylaronic acid, retinol, and Vitamin C. I love it! Then she uses#The Ordinary - Nicinamide Serum[products]#[FiveStars] which costs $5.90 for 1 fl oz. We’ve talked a lot about this serum, it’s very good. Next is the#Tree Of Life - Hylaronic acid serum[products]#[TwoStars] which costs $10.95 for 1 fl oz. I don’t like this serum. It started off good with hylaronic acid, aloe vera juice, Vitamin E, and Vitamin C, but it contains way too many Essential oils and irritating extracts. And her final serum is theSkinMedica - LYTERA 2.0 Pigment Correcting Serum which costs $130.90 for 2 fl oz, which is very expensive. This is not worth the price. It has nicinamide and glycerin, and then some not very researched acids. I don’t recommend continuing use of this serum. Then to moisturize she goes in with theOLAY - Regenerist Regenerating Day Cream which costs $29.99 for 1.7 fl oz. I don’t like this moisturizer. Let’s start with some positives. It has nicinamide, glycerin, and Vitamin B3. Now it has a lot of bad ingredients also. It has Sodium Laureth Sulfate, which is a harsh cleansing agent, as well as fragrance being the 6th ingredient. The she uses a Neutrogena sunscreen, and occasionally usesThe Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution which costs $7.20 for 1 fl oz. This is a great exfoliant. I think @Raks is using too many serums. I would stick to only the Pura D’or and The Ordinary serum, and ditch the other two. Keep the cleanser, and maybe try a different moisturizer. You asked for mineral sunscreen reccomendations for dark skin tones that don’t have a white cast, so I got you girl! I have light skin, but I did some research and I’d recommend the#First Aid Beauty - Weightless Mineral SPF 30[products]#[FiveStars] which costs $34 for 1.5 fl oz, and the #Biossance - Squalane Zinc Sheer SPF 30[products]#[FiveStars] which costs $30 for 1.7 fl oz. Both of these have minimal white cast, and Skincare by Hyram recommends them. Next is @juliachristine’s night routine. She starts off by cleansing with the #Vanicream - Unscented Gentle Cleanser[products]#[ThreeStars] witch costs $8.99 for 8 fl oz. This a nice basic cleanser with glycerin. Next she uses the#OBAGI - Tretinoin 0.025% Cream[products]#[TwoStars] which costs $84 for .7 fl oz. This cream has tretinoin which is a Vitamin A derivative which can treat acne, as well as retinol which also Vitamin A. I don’t think it’s worth the price, but it’s okay. Next she uses the #The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%[products]#[FourStars] which costs $7.99 for 1 fl oz. Along with azelaic acid, it has dimethicone which is a great moisturizer for dry skin. Next she uses theCeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin which costs $17.99 for 15 fl oz. Y’all know I love this product! Finally she finishes off with theVERSED - ZERO-G Smoothing Eye Cream witch costs $17.99 for .5 fl oz. Eye cream is definitely not necessary but this one is great! It has glycerin, algae extract, and olive oil which are hydrating, along with shea butter and a blend of peptides which can help firm the skin and increase collagen production which can help reduce fine lines around the eyes. Overall @juliachristine your routine looks great! That’s it for this post please cheer for this post if you liked it, comment your opinions on these products, and follow me for similar content. Upcoming posts include a 1 month Curology review and unnecessary skincare steps you don’t need. -Mae
Suggestions help?? 🥲
I’m still having trouble with my acne, at first it was clearing up then all of sudden it keeps getting worse, any recommendations will help ! 😣 Cetaphil - Cetaphil Gentle Foaming Cleanser epielle - Black Charcoal Peel-Off Mask The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution Sometimes I would use .. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% but if I don’t I would skip it and use .. The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2%

Best Acne Treatment!
I have very acne prone skin and I frequently struggle to get it under control. This is by far the most effective treatment I have ever used for active acne spots. CLINIQUE - Acne Solutions Clinical Clearing Gel If I could only use one acne treatment for the rest of my life it would be this one! It contains salicylic acid to clear blemishes and can be used as a spot treatment or, if you have acne covering a larger area, you can use a thin layer all over your face. It does have some ingredients that can cause your skin to be dry or irritated if it is over used, but it wouldn’t be an acne treatment without them and it shouldn’t cause any issues if you only use it on acne spots. I’ve seriously never had an issue with this. If you have tried this product or have any recommendations please let me know in the comments!
Clinique Acne Products That Are Worth Buying!
Part 3 of my skincare routine posts! This one is all about the Clinique products I use. I’m fully convinced these products have stopped/limited any acne. ✨CLINIQUE - Acne Solutions Clarifying Lotion - I use this in both my morning and night routine after cleansing (check out previous post for my cleansers). It’s so nice and doesn’t irritate my skin at all! I believe this is in combo with my other products is helping lighten acne scars too. All I do is shake the bottle to mix the product, then apply to a cotton ball or pad and wipe on the face. I focus this more on areas where my acne usually pops up. Side note: I recently bought reusable cotton pads and this works great with them! ✨CLINIQUE - Acne Solutions Clinical Clearing Gel - I also use this product for both day and night routines. I apply it after the clarifying lotion and usually let it sit for a few minutes before doing my next steps. I LOVE this stuff. It can be thinly applied on the whole face or just target certain areas (which is what I do). A little goes a long way so I only need 1-2 drops of this. The formula is strong and works great without bothering my skin or making it incredibly dry. It’s a bit pricey for the size, but trust me it’s worth it (and it lasts longer than you think!). For me personally, I found this works better than any benzoyl peroxide product. ✨CLINIQUE - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel - My skin is combo but it’s highly dependent on the season too. Winter I’m more dry, summer I’m more oily. This moisturizer is definitely a fav, perfect for summer! It soaks in and doesn’t sit on the face, so I’m not left with any oily residue. I use this only in the morning as I prefer a thicker, richer cream for night. Right now it’s winter here so I do have to use my old favorite Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer for certain super dry areas on my face (nose and sides of mouth), then I go over my whole face with the Clinique gel. **I highly recommend looking into their complete moisturizer line, they have so many ways to customize for your skin type.** Overall I recommend all these Clinique products! It’s a great brand that can cater to so many skin types.
OTC Epiduo Dupe Part 1
**Disclaimer: This post is not meant in place of medical advice. It's best to consult a dermatologist about skin concerns when possible. This is another long one, y'all. I've broken it up into two posts to allow adequate explanation, but please, PLEASE, stick around to read part 2. Failure to properly use the products mentioned can result in skin injury!! WHAT IS IT? For those who don't know, Epiduo is a topical acne medication available by prescription only. It's two active ingredients however, are available over the counter. Epiduo consists of a combination of 0.3% adapalene and 2.5% benzoyl peroxide. While you won't find adapalene in that high of a concetraion over the counter, the lower concentration (0.1%) can be just as effective with less irritation. Benzoyl peroxide however, can be found in varying concentrations from 2.5% to 10% with the lower concentrations also being as effective as the higher. HOW DOES IT WORK? For the sake of brevity I'll just give you a brief rundown here. Adapalene adjusts the rate of skin cell turnover to regulate the process. In the case of acne, skin cell turnover is in overdrive. That means new skin cells are being produced while old skin cells are not being discarded properly. These old skin cells, along with sebum and bacteria, clog pores. The regulation of skin cell turnover prevents accumulation of all that gunk thereby keeping pores from being clogged. Adapalene is also renowned for it's anti-aging benefits, but that's another post 😉 Benzoyl peroxide (sometimes abbreviated BPO) penetrates the skin and is metabolized into benzoic acid and oxygen. The oxygen free radicals kill anaerobic bacteria. For a more in-depth look at BPO, see my last post! Together these ingredients prevent clogged pores and limit bacterial growth, addressing two of the main causes of acne. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN TO YOU? It means that your local drug store can supply you with everything you need to get started with an (almost) prescription strength acne treatment. Here are some adapalene products to consider: DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Adapalene Gel .01% Topical Retinoid Acne Treatment CVS Health Adapalene Gel ACNE FREE - Adapalene Gel USP 15G proactiv - Adapalene Gel 0.1% Acne Treatment And here are some BPO products: Neutrogena - On-the-Spot Acne Treatment Neutrogena - Rapid Clear Stubborn Acne Spot Gel ZAPZYT - Acne Treatment Gel LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Duo (+) *Stores like Walmart, Target, and several drug stores have their own brands of BPO spot treatments which are typically comparable to name brands at competitive prices. *Make sure to check the concentration of BPO. In this instance, the lower the better. Stay tuned to find out how to use this hack and to hear about my product picks explained.
Fight Acne with Retinoids and Retinol to GLOW ✨
🚨If you suffer from stubborn acne (like I have) you may want to consider adding OTC retinoids to your routine! 🔑Retinoids, a vitamin A derivative, are a key player in the skincare industry. Many studies have proven retinoids fight acne, promote collagen, reduce wrinkles and hyperpigmentation to give skin a healthy glow. The good news is now there are plenty of options for Rx strength one now available OTC! 💁🏻♀️I only mentioned products I’ve use and that work! Best OTC Rx Strength Adapalene 0.1% proactiv - Adapalene Gel 0.1% Acne Treatment DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Adapalene Gel .01% Topical Retinoid Acne Treatment This former prescription-only retinoid works to unclog pores by slowing pore lining growth and reduces the skin’s sensitivity to inflammation! This is a great introductory retinoid if you’ve never used any before. ✨Prevents pimple formation ✨Speeds blemish healing time ✨Reduces inflammation and redness ✨Evens skin tone and texture ✨Anti-aging benefits Best OTC Retinol Serums Why do I like OTC retinoids better than retinol? Retinol actually takes much longer to work. In fact, because retinol must convert at the cellular level of the skin, it can take 6 months to a year before seeing results. Retinol can be 20x less effective than a Rx strength retinoids. Murad - Retinol Youth Renewal Serum dermalogica - Retinol Acne Clearing Oil SUNDAY RILEY - A+ High-Dose Retinol Serum The Ordinary - Retinol 0.2% in Squalane The Ordinary - Retinol 0.2% in Squalane DRUNK ELEPHANT - A-Passioni Retinol Cream ✨Gentle formulas - good for sensitive skin ✨Decrease fine lines over time ✨Serums contain other skin hydrating ingredients Myths True and False: ⚡️Retinoids thin your skin - FALSE They actually strengthen your skin by promoting collagen production. ⚡️Retinoids have drying side effects - TRUE and FALSE When you start using retinoids, skin may go through a process of Retinization, the adjustment period in which dryness, flaking and redness can occur. Symptoms subside in about 4 weeks and are almost eliminated my using a great moisturizer. ⚡️You should wait till your older to use retinoids - FALSE Retinoids and retinol are safe to use ages 12 and up! 💁🏻♀️Right now, I personally use Proactive adapalene 0.1% for acne fighting and anti-aging at the same time! How save retinoids improved your skin?

I used the skin ceuticals Vitamin C holy grail
6 months after I started to take better care of my skin. Here’s some pics non filtered of my routine. 1. I purchased the SKINCEUTICALS - C E Ferulic With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C Serum the most recommended from dermatologist and was definitely not sure whether to purchase or no because of its price. Thank god I did 🙏 this is really the holy grail. 2. The OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Eye Crème this eye cream was gifted to me by cousin over a year ago. I love it. It’s absolutely amazing. 3. Last but no least thanks to Cherie for gifting me absolutely the best eye cream ever used Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 Highly recommend these products. The most important is being consistent and using them every morning. 😘
eye cream so BRIGHT 🌟🌞⚡️💥
OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Eye Crème thank you cherie for gifting me my first ever eye cream !! I had heard so much about this product, so I was super excited to try it. the first thing we gotta talk about is the scent. i’m not the biggest fan of fragrance in skin care, but this product is too good that I don’t mind at all ! it smells like a freshly squeezed glass of orange juice 🍊 and I love it ! as you can see, the texture of this product is amazing! it has a creamy thick texture that glides on the skin so smoothly. I guess a disclaimer would be that I don’t have dark under eyes, but I do notice a difference when I put this on! it brightens my whole under eye area and makes me look so much more awake! a little goes a really really long way with this product ! even if the tub is a little small, I don’t see it running out any time soon. $39USD for 0.5oz

Tour of what’s in my fridge
A skin care fridge is totally not a necessity but they are super fun to have. Things to consider before buying one is: does it fit in your budget, will it fit in your bathroom, what products will go in it? I got mine from Amazon where they range from $60-$150 cad but you can get them from tons of places. The way I use mine is to keep products cold for the experience (de puffing) and to extend their shelf life. Here’s a tour of what I currently keep in my skincare fridge. The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% This serum is great to keep cold as it ensures it is kept at a consistent temperature and in a dark place which helps with stability. The combination of ascorbic acid and alpha arbutin make for a great brightening and hyperpigmentation treatment. THE BODY SHOP - British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask This is a really nice hydrating and plumping face mask that gives a very spa like vibe. The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil I love to keep this oil cold as it increases the shelf life. This is a great hydrating oil that also helps acne and hyperpigmentation. THE BODY SHOP - Chinese Ginseng & Rice Clarifying Polishing Mask I love keeping this mask chilled as it helps depuff my face in the morning. This is a very nourishing mask that is also gently brightening. pixi - DetoxifEYE These are great cold as they really helps get rid of any puffiness from waking up. This pot holds 30 pairs which is great value from money. VERSED - LOOK ALIVE Hydrating Plumping Mask This is a great hydrating mask that really plumps my skin and helps when it is dehydrated. Keeping it cold makes the experience even more enjoyable. LANEIGE - Cica Sleeping Mask This is a creamy sleeping mask that highlights cica which is a very soothing ingredient. Applying it cold makes the soothing power even more effective. LANEIGE - Lavender Water Sleeping Mask This is a gel mask that feels great when applied cold as it feels very soothing. The lavender scent can also be very relaxing. grace & stella - Rose quartz face roller I love doing an evening massage, it feels amazing if the tool is kept cold. It helps with lymphatic drainage and product absorption. 👜Sheet masks ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I love to keep all my sheet masks in the fridge as the experience of a chilled mask is very enjoyable.
PM skincare for acne!
Hi friends❤️ in this post I am going to go through the products I use on nights that I am not using DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel Step 1: First cleanse I raved about theTHE inkey LIST - Oat Cleansing Balm in my other PM skincare post! This is one of my favorite products in my whole routine. Very soothing and removes all makeup! Did I mention it’s only $10 freaking dollars?!? Step 2: second cleanse GLYTONE - Acne BPO Clearing Cleanser I just started incorporating a benzoyl peroxide cleanser on the nights I do not use differin because I have never tried benzoyl peroxide for my acne besides spot treatments. Spot treatments with BPO always burn my skin so I thought this cleanser would be a great alternative! It feels very hydrating and non stripping on my skin, it has 4.5% benzoyl peroxide. I can’t give it 5 stars yet because I just started using it, but I will keep y’all updated! Step 3: toner I never use the PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator on the same nights I use the benzoyl peroxide cleanser. But I have loved this product so far. I focus this mostly on my t zone where I get a lot of clogged pores and it seems to be helping so far! Step 4: moisturizer/mask LANEIGE - Cica Sleeping Mask I have been wanting to try this product for a long time because I have a lot of redness from active acne and scarring. I use it as a moisturizer/ leave in mask some nights and it is very soothing and hydrating. It can feel greasy if you put too much on, a little goes a long way! I am not 100% sure if I would repurchase because I haven’t had any drastic results and it is a bit pricey at $34. Step 5: pimple patches! I use HERO COSMETICS - Mighty Patch Original for Madewell almost every night on any white heads I might have and they keep me from picking yayyyy!!

my progress in the span of 3 years
This is my first post pls be gentle I am soff My experience and exposure to skincare was...odd growing up. I came from a poor family and was constantly switching between households. Consistent skincare routines did not exist for me, if we could afford it at all. I also had no idea what was going on with my face or why, just that I was being mocked and berated for it as though it was some sort of lack of hygeine or moral failing on my part. About 3 years ago, I started using a consistent skincare routine with more than just a face wash in the shower. Granted, it was whatever the cheapest face wash I could find at Safeway that week (likely biore or st. ives) and argan oil that I found at Marshall's. I had no idea what ingredients to look for or even what my skin type was. That first pic STILL marked a huge improvement for me and kicked off my desire to learn more to finally rectify this issue that had plagued me for more than a decade. The 2nd pic is from a few months ago. I kinda think I peaked there. I was using Neutrogena - Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser in the shower. I have oily, sensitive skin (thanks eczema) and it's very gentle, not irritating in the slightest. However, it feels like all it does is clean my face. No real benefit apart from that. I was using pixi - Glow Tonic as a toner which I loved and gave me great results but rent is literally over half my monthly income and that doesn't touch all the other bills I have and at anywhere from $18-$24 a bottle? Well... I'd rather eat tbh. I also got over the "oily skin don't need moisturize hurr durr" mentality and began to use (still do, this jar has lasted me since like July) AVALON ORGANICS - Intense Defense, With Vitamin C, Oil-Free Moisturizer . Works fine, nice and light, absorbs pretty quickly, and I like the smell. I'd like something that qualifies as a night mask instead tho, just because my entire routine is done exclusively at night with extra moisturizer or treatments as necessary. 3rd pic is from about a month ago. I've changed up the roster a few times. I'm really feeling FORMULA 10.0.6 - One Deep Attraction Daily Foaming Face Wash as I used it years ago, liked it then for the suds and the actives, but haven't gotten much in the way of results. I might try the FORMULA 10.0.6 - Three Times Sublime 3-in-1 Blackhead Wash + Scrub + Maskand FORMULA 10.0.6 - P.M. Perfectorinstead of the moisturizer I use as mentioned above. I'm also alternating between Cos De BAHA - BHA Salicylic Acid 2% Exfoliant Liquid 4oz with Niacinamide Acne Spot Treatment + Redness Relief + Pore Minimizer + Pore Cleaner and The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% . The serum makes my skin incredibly soft and the suspension helps a bunch with oil control. If y'all have any comments, questions, or suggestions regarding my routine, I'd love to hear what y'all have to say!
How I Built an Entire Routine for Under $150
For a long time I was intimated by skincare because it seemed very expensive and overwhelming. How do I know what to buy 🤷🏻♀️ When I started noticing wrinkles that was enough of a push for me to invest in skincare. Here’s some great lessons I’ve learned to build your skincare routine affordably: 1. Research to figure out what you need- here’s where my love of @cheriestarted! I read lots of reviews, advice, so I knew what type of products I should buy and what ingredients I should focus on. 2. Keep it Simple It’s easy to want to buy new products, adding new steps or ingredients to your routine, or try out the hype after reading reviews! Focus on your concerns and add slowly to give your skin time to adjust and see what’s working. It’s better to have a few great products that you love than many products you don’t use. I started with: Cleanse AM antioxidant serum, PM anti-aging serum Moisturizer Sunscreen Toners, eye cream, facial oil, and masks can be extras if you are looking to save money 3. Spend your money on the middle - if you can only splurge on one product make it the serum! This has the most benefit. Drugstore cleansers, moisturizers, and spf are great! 4. Try some great affordable brands such as The Ordinary, The Inkey List, Versed, or CeraVe 5. Buy trial size first, Value Sets or better free rewards before investing in a new product 6. Once you’ve found your Holy Grails keep your eyes open for sales to stock up, join the brands mailing list or reward program, buy value size Here’s my current skincare line-up and how much it cost me: CLINIQUE - Jumbo Liquid Facial Soap Mild Use AM & PM Bought on sale for $27 for 13.5oz CLINIQUE - Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm Use PM Free from Clinique rewards pixi - Glow Tonic pixi - Milky Tonic Rotate PM Bought multi-pack on sale for $22 OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Eye Crème Use AM and / or PM Bought on sale $25 The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Use AM $6.80 VERSED - STROKE OF BRILLIANCE Brightening Serum Use AM $26.99 OLAY - Wrinkle Correction Serum with Vitamin B3+ Collagen Peptides Use PM Bought on sale for $32 BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Lactic Acid Resurfacing Night Serum Use PM 1-2 times per week Free from Sephora Rewards Bazaar CLINIQUE - Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator Use AM & PM Free gift with purchase from Clinique CAUDALIE - Vinoperfect Instant Brightening Moisturizer Use PM when not using lactic acid Free offer with purchase from Sephora The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil Use PM $9.90 (Not pictured) currently using my kids Banana Boat Kids Simply Protect SPF 50 as my sunscreen

oily skin & don’t know how to manage? I got you
this post is for all the people who have oily skin and sometimes just don’t know how to deal with it! well i’m here for some tips! I have oily/combo skin and I’ve learnt some important info during my skincare journey that I would love to share with you all 🤗 1. still moisturise it is super important for people with oily skin to keep up with moisturising ! you may think that your skin is hydrated and doesn’t need any extra moisture, but it still really does. if you don’t moisturise, or use products to keep your skin hydrated, your skin can overcompensate with releasing it’s natural oils, which in hand, can make your skin more oily 2. don’t be afraid of oils whether this is oil cleansing or any certain type of oil (rosehip, squalane etc), don’t be hesitant to use these products just because of your skin type. for me, oils have made a huge difference to my skin, especially oil cleansing! one thing to remember with oil cleansing, is that oils attract oils, and therefore are oil soluble. products like this help to get rid of grease, blackheads etc and can be great for oily skin! 3. use products targeted for oily skin I know that this one is quite self explanatory, but here are some products that helped my oily skin become more manageable! - niacinamide. this ingredient is amazing for oily skin ! it helps to decrease oil production from within the skin. my fav product is NATURIUM - Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2% , but I also don’t mind The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% -exfoliation. now with this I don’t mean physical exfoliation, but chemical exfoliation! my favourite exfoliant has to be PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator this one is my HOLY GRAIL product of them all ! I have many posts on this product so be sure to check those out for an in depth description. - clay face masks. these are good for absorbing oil and giving your face a matte finish. some of my favs are PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Balancing Oil-Absorbing Mask AZTEC SECRET - Indian Healing Clay I hope this helps and if you have any questions, feel free to comment 🌟🥰

Jet lag mask for the jetless ✈️
I got this full sized product from my favorite subscription beauty box, Boxycharm. From first impressions, the packaging is absolutely elegant! I felt so fancy😂 I use this in the morning as part of my wake up routine, and I absolutely love it! It goes on smoothly, and it gives the skin a slight tingling sensation, which I love. It’s great for dry skin, and leaves my face looking refreshed and awake- ready to tackle mommin’ my 4 wild sons. It’s a pretty pricey product, so I’m conserving, but I will definitely repurchaseSUMMER FRIDAYS - Jet Lag Mask
How many masks are too many...?
I used to love masking! I’d do at least 1 to 2 a week. Now I’ve gotten lazy and just don’t do them and I have so many I need to start using before they expire! For me, I feel having an exfoliating mask and a hydrating mask is all you need. Unless your using the product consistently you’re not going to see changes. Masks are great for plumping up the skin, adding hydration and even a soft glow. But of all the masks I’ve used I’ve never found long term effects from them (except exfoliating). One way I like to use them is right before a big night (or day) out. To give my skin that added boost. Some that are great for doing so are: FARMACY - Honey Potion Renewing Antioxidant Hydration Mask GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon + AHA Glow Sleeping Mask (use as a 10 min mask) SUMMER FRIDAYS - Jet Lag Mask FIRST AID BEAUTY - Hello FAB Ginger & Turmeric Vitamin C Jelly Mask And many others that help brighten and hydrate! I will also not go without my exfoliating masks which I do once a week. Some faves are: PAULA'S CHOICE - 25% AHA + 2% BHA Exfoliant Peel YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Yerba Mate Resurfacing Energy Facial The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution HERBIVORE - Prism 20% AHA + 5% BHA Exfoliating Glow Facial And a few others I have that I liked to use; BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Tea Tree Detox Mask ELEMIS - Superfood Vital Veggie Mask bliss - Mighty Marshmallow Mask Unfortunately as I said, I just don’t mask as often as I used to. And I feel it isn’t necessary. If you like to then I suggest you get yourself an exfoliating and moisturizing/hydrating mask and you should be good to go. Treatments are where you want to really zone in and specialize your finances for. Is it Friday yet? Ugh! I’ve been down all week with a neck I cannot turn - ouchie! And a migraine on top of that! I’m ready to knock my dogs out cause they are wanting out every half hour (it’s nice here ⛅️) Much ❤️ my skinnies 🍒

IS THIS REALLY WORTH THE HYPE?
THAYERS - Lavender Facial Toner NOW as this is like my 3rd travel size bottle that I have finished..... I finally did my research and this will be the LAST bottle I will ever look at. When I had my first bottle, I used it religiously, everyday, maybe even twice a day. I’d use it after I cleansed and then later on it the day because my face would get super oily especially since I live in the southern heat. My second bottle I would only really use once everyday/ every other day and it would be like in the afternoon/ late afternoon when my face was, again, super oily because of the southern heat. Now this bottle, my third. I did a lot of research and reading about witch hazel, this brand especially. After reading about it and everything I used this very rarely. Now I wasn’t going to waste the product so I did finish this up. As exciting as it may seem to just have a few swipes of this on your face with a cotton ball/pad and see your pores be minimized and oil completely gone... it all leads to unhappy endings. Witch hazel DRYS/ SUCKS the LIFE out of your skin. It makes your skin like the freaking Sahara desert and it later in causes many problems such as your skin creating even more oils than usual because you have just stripped the living crap out of your skins ph levels. It also leads to having larger pores. Now I haven’t experienced that my self but have heard many others. I do not recommend this product at all But i do recommend doing your research on witch hazel and reading other people’s reviews about this on this app, it will be super helpful and beneficial to you :) For people with oily skin like me there ARE other and BETTER toners out there!! ⭐️⭐️ with that being said, if anyone does have toner recommendations for oily skin, please leave them in the comments!!⭐️⭐️
MOVE ON FROM WITCH HAZEL!
I'm gonna be honest and say: I BOUGHT THE THAYER'S TONER BECAUSE OF THE HYPE! You remember when this was almost always sold out & it was plastered all over the internet. I did not do enough research of my own & that's okay, we all make mistakes especially when it comes to skincare. All I knew was, I have oily skin, the formula is alcohol-free, and witch hazel is good for your skin! Right? ....Kind of. THAYERS - Lavender Facial Toner I used Thayer's Lavender Witch Hazel Toner EVERY DAY for almost a year and short-term, I did see results. Witch hazel is a natural astringent that can dry out inflammatory & noninflammatory blemishes. My blackheads started clearing and my skin was less oily which made me keep it in my routine. But over time, my skin started feeling tight and needed more & more moisture with every passing day. It even became more sensitive to masks/peels I had done before! I hated my oily skin but being completely dried out is not what I wanted either. So... I made the transition to Pixi! pixi - Collagen Tonic For some info on this product & its ingredients: Acacia Collagen: plant-derived collagen substitute; plumps & volumizes skin, hydrates the skin, works to maintain hydration. Peptides: tone/firm the skin, improve the skin barrier, & helps ease inflammation. Coconut Water: conditions & hydrates. Fruit Extracts: promote youthful skin with antioxidant benefits. For myself, this toner lasts in my medicine cabinet & comes in easier to use packaging. I used to use cotton pads but with this, I can tap the product into my hands. This makes me spend less on cotton pads & helps the environment (side note: invest in reusable cotton pads; you won't regret it!). On top of that, it's NEVER too soon to start anti-aging. The vegan collagen & peptides work to balance the skin. Lastly, this product is helping me reverse the long term effects of witch hazel. Slowly but surely it has made my skin feel smooth, supple, & happy again! My skin stays hydrated throughout the day & I honestly feel like my makeup is starting to go on smoother. If you're looking for a hydrating toner, LOOK NO FURTHER!
Hello beauty! 💫 I want to share my night skincare routine. I have been suffering from acne since I was in elementary, middle and high school, my acne became very bad. I have tried many products, some good others not so much. Since I discovered these products they have helped me a lot with my acne, and that is why I share them with you guys. 1. The first thing I do is wash my face with Cerave Foaming Cleanser. 2. I apply The Ordinary Niacinamide + Zinc serum that helps me a lot to control the sebum of my face and eat the spots. 3. I apply this cream moisturizer that is for combination to oily skin, does not leave my face greasy and is very light, it adsorbs very quickly. (It also helps to control the sebum on the face but without drying it too much) 4. Even if it is at night you should always apply sunscreen because even if you don't believe it, the lights on your phone, or home light can also cause damage. 5. Finally I apply a localizing treatment for the pimples, it helps me to dry it and reduce its size. I hope this information is helpful. 🧡 CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Neutrogena - Neutrogena Combination Skin Moisture Australian Gold - Botanical Tinted Face Sunscreen SPF 50 Neutrogena - Rapid Clear Stubborn Acne Cream Cleanser
Are you dealing with butt acne? Read this!
-Hi! Thanks for reading me in advance. ✨- Buttne is a shorthand for butt acne. Which is a very common and uncomfortable skin condition so don’t feel bad about it. 😋 In addition of giving you a very bad bump in your butt it is also very painful and itchy as well. Butt acne is not usually the common acne, is a folliculitis. What is a folliculitis? Well, is a mild infection of the hair follicle that leads to pus pimples or red bumps. This non regular pimple are caused by a combination of your follicles getting blocked and a bacterial infection. Sometimes the causes are very gross, or they can be a “wait, really!?” 😳 If you keep your wet sweaty clothes after you hit the gym, then expect buttne. If you spend long hours sitting down, then this friction and irritation will cause those follicles to get clogged. If your case is wearing undies past their time, which is gross, but totally expect Buttne with this. Do not wear tight-fitting clothes too much either! This traps sweat and oil against your skin, which... you know what can happen. Let’s say you have these, well there is not problem with it. We got the solution! 😗 I suggest you to try these at home options to help your peach look better. 🙊 Try a salicylic acid body wash. This will help you to unclogged those pores by exfoliating your skin. You can also try to target your butt with a benzoyl peroxide body wash. This is very effective to treat acne and folliculitis because of its antimicrobial ingredients. You can also bright up acne marks with glycolic acid. Try to moisturize your butt with a lactic acid lotion whenever you get the chance. Don’t feel scare, this won’t clog your pores. If you shave, try to shave the right way. Don’t go against the grain of your hair. If these solutions or any other don’t work. Then a consultation with a dermatologist will help you more. :) I useful tip is to leave the acne medication sit on your skin for 8-10 minutes. This way it can penetrate the skin before washing it off. Maybe put the product before you step on the shower, shampoo your hair, condition your hair, maybe shave, sing some songs. And then wash it off :) Some good products for Buttne: PanOxyl - Acne Foaming Wash Benzoyl Peroxide 10% Maximum Strength Neutrogena - Rapid Clear Stubborn Acne Cream Cleanser PETER THOMAS ROTH - Max Complexion Salicylic Acid Pore Refining Pads skinfix - Resurface+ Glycolic Renewing Scrub Amlactin - Daily Moisturizing Body Lotion I hope this little info helps you out! Let me know if you try them, and which one worked for you! :) There is not shame on having Buttne. I myself have experience this and is totally normal! Enjoy your day! 🥰

It’s Texture Tuesday! Sharing a Few Favourites
Hi Beauty’s 🙋🏽♀️ I thought I’d take some timeout over the weekend and re-energise so I haven’t been on since Friday. 😲 I post a lot about nutrition and self-care so I like to take my own advice. 😉 But sharing is caring so I’m here to highlight some of my favourite skincare products as part of Texture Tuesday. It’s a thing 😉 Moisturisers 🧴 OLAY - Regenerist Micro Sculpting Cream I used the Olay Regenerist range including the essence and eye cream for over 10 years. I’ve mentioned in previous posts I only cleansed sporadically before joining Cherie 😱 it’s now a twice a day ritual 😁 Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer I did a review on this product previously and I love the texture and smoothness. I use it before I apply my day cream as another layer of hydration. My night cream is pictured beside the OLAY - Regenerist Micro Sculpting Cream it’s a herbal retinol cream from China. I don’t know the brand because the packaging is in Chinese. I love it and have repurchased 4 or 5 times from Wish. Masks 😷 alya skin. - Skin Pink Clay Mask Pink Clay is a personal favourite of mine, it’s the most sensitive of clays and suitable for sensitive skin. The Alya Clay does what it says it will do and detoxifies and brightens skin. The pastel pink colour is gorgeous but it does have a fragrance, which gets cloying and may irritate. sukin - Pink Clay Facial Masque Sensitive 100ml Another pink Clay, the results aren’t as good as alya skin. - Skin Pink Clay Mask but it’s fragrance free and has great natural ingredients like aloe Vera, kaolin and bentonite Clay, cucumber 🥒, chamomile and Tasmanian pepper 🌶 Sleeping Masks GLOW RECIPE - Avocado Melt Retinol Eye Sleeping Mask I’ve been using the Glow recipe for a couple of weeks, it’s my first eye mask purchase. I can’t believe how plump and hydrated my under eyes look in the morning. I’m sold on eye sleeping masks and can’t wait to try more. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🎅 Last, but definitely not least, Aloe Vera (pictured by Avocado Melt 🥑), I use aloe as an ingredient in my natural face masks and because it’s summer here in Australia 🇦🇺 it’s also used to soothe sunburn 🥵 I may regularly use sunscreen now but I still get burnt if I’m out in the sun 🌞 too long. 🙃 What’s some of your favourite textures? I love to see them! Drop me a line and let me know. 🤗 And don’t forget I have a giveaway running exclusively for our Cherie Community 🍒 follow me on Cherie, like my new business page on Facebook and leave a comment on the original post to enter! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Have a wonderful day! Jade 😊
BATTLE OF INSTA CLASSICS⚔️🤯‼️
Two VERY aesthetically pleasing products, but which come out with the gold?!🥇🍾 Both of these masks blew up Instagram and ultimately divided us all. We picked our teams and bought every new product our respective favourite released, or at least that’s what I did🤷🏻♀️😂 I’m trying them both (in an attempt) to create an objective view on the pros & cons of each product! I hope that this helps those who are unsure or feel uneasy stepping out their comfort zone, to those who might even get a bit of enjoyment reading this! Either way I’ve painted my face in the name of answers😅 FIRST UP‼️ Sand & Sky Pros: minimalist packaged that is very eye catching✔️ Smells exactly as advertised - natural pink clay✔️ low key love how it dried evenly🙏🏻 Cons: if you have struggled with your skincare upkeep and don’t wash your face before applying this is can feel like a sting on your skin, this also happens if you have sensitive skin she is NOT cheap💲💲💲 Alya Skin Pros: just as aesthetically pleasing as sand & sky✔️ more affordable💲✔️ minimalist packaging Cons: Doesn’t dry evenly on the face has floral/perfume scent - doesn’t feel as natural and could also irritate those with skin sensitivity while it did not feel like it irritated, when removing the mask my skin looked so angry and red. This died down quickly however is not something I enjoyed Both products have very close pros and cons! It all depends on your individual needs and what is best for you and your skin! Now for my own personal choice, the winner is.... SAND & SKY🥇🎉🍾 I LOVE💖 this product despite its price tag😅 I find it’s amazing for my skin and leaves it feeling refreshed and hydrated SAND&SKY - Australian Pink Clay Porefining Face Mask $69.90 for 60ml alya skin. - Skin Pink Clay Mask $49.95 for 120ml Drop comments below for any questions or feedback!⬇️

K beauty serum easy to include in your routine
As some one who both loves skincare and has a variety of issues I want to treat (preventing acne, fading acne scars, dry and flaky skin, prevent signs of aging (I’m 27) and keeping my skin protected) I like to try out lots of products and ingredients. I am also very careful of keeping my skin hydrated and not over doing it to my skin. I am a huge lover of K-beauty as they are known for soothing and hydrating ingredients. They have a focus on harnessing the power of nature to keep the skin healthy. Blending K-beauty with Western beauty has really made a difference to my skin condition. Iunik is one of the K-beauty brands I have recently been investigating. This serum is probably there best known product as it has been featured by many influencers. This is known for being soothing and preventing acne. What is it: This serum has 2 primary ingredients. The first being 67% tea tree leaf water which is an antibacterial ingredient that can eliminate acne causing bacteria. It also soothes redness and inflammation. The second ingredient is 19.5% centella asiatica leaf which is another anti inflammatory ingredient. It soothes skin redness and repairs the skin barrier. Price: This serum is $27cad for 50mls which is larger then an average serum. Texture: This is a rather watery serum. In the second picture you can see that the serum is a light green. Effectiveness: overall I have noticed that my skin feels less irritated when I use this serum and it has helped keep my acne away. íUNIK - Tea Tree Relief Serum
Tea Tree Relief Serum
This product is infused with 67% tea tree and 19.5% centella asiatica leaf water, as well as other ingredients and plant extracts to provide multiple skin benefits: wrinkle care, improving skin tone, and healing acne scars. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This serum has a watery consistency and is very gentle and quick-absorbing. It is great for all skin types, especially those with oily and/or sensitive skin. I personally use this product when my skin is breaking out and when I sense a pimple coming 😂⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Although you will not see immediate results from using this product, it is very soothing, calming, and hydrating. So, if this is the type of serum you are looking for, I highly recommend that you check out this brand and especially their mini serum set! íUNIK - Tea Tree Relief Serum
Four lovely Caudalie creams, but which is my favorite? The winner is definitely the Premier Cru La Creme. Here's why I like it the best of of all four. The SOS Intense Hydration Cream, one of their newest launches, is a lovely cream with a beautiful texture, but I find it a little heavy during the day, meaning that I save it for nights when my skin really needs to be replenished. If I wear it during the day I can still feel it on my skin a few hours later, which isn't always what I want. I don't use it as often, but I still keep it in my rotation. The Vinosource Creme Sorbet is a lighter gel-like cream, and is surprisingly moisturizing for a light cream. But I find that my combination-dehydrated skin needs more. The VineActiv 3-in-1 moisturizer is probably my least favorite of the four. It tends to separate in the tube and feels a little oily going on. I find it less moisturizing than the SOS and Premier Cru creams. It's still a perfectly fine cream, but didn't wow me. Finally, the Premier Cru La Creme strikes the perfect balance for me. It's a "creamy" cream and absorbs beautifully, without leaving a film over my face and without feeling heavy. It's surprising because the Premier Cru range is Caudalie's premium anti-aging range so you might expect the cream to feel heavy and rich, but it's actually great for all skin types I think. For the day, it's the perfect amount of moisture for my dehydrated skin, but doesn't make my skin oily. At night, it works too, but I just tend to layer more toners and serums under it. Overall I find this to be the most multi-tasking cream of the four.
My skin care routine for acne prone / oily skin
MORNING ROUTINE ☀️ PCA skin - BPO 5% Cleanser The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% CeraVe - Ultra-Light Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 For Normal To Oily Skin NIGHT ROUTINE 🌙 PCA skin - BPO 5% Cleanser The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalane BURT’S BEES - Lip Balm with Vitamin E & Peppermint WEEKLY MASK The Ordinary - Salicylic Acid 2% Masque I have been using PCA skin - BPO 5% Cleanser for over a year and have been absolutely loving it for keeping my skin clear. I recently added The Ordinary’s products into my routine as well as a daily spf and my skin has truly never looked better. If you suffer from acne, dark spots and dull skin- I highly suggest this routine ❤️ ** Also, when using Vitamin C (such as The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% ) I chose to moisturize with the Squalane because any water in products will neutralize the Vitamin C and stop it from working on your skin, so always make sure to use a moisturizer/ oil / serum with no form of water on the ingredient list while using a vitamin C product! :)

Skincare 101: Exfoliation Basics
Exfoliation is the best way to slough away debris and dead skin cells that are sitting on top of your skin and can clog your pores. Exfoliation speeds up cell turnover. If done correctly, it leaves you with healthier and happier looking skin, and makes moisturizing and applying actives more effective. There are two types of exfoliators: 𝐩𝐡𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐱𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 ~ are body scrubs and products formulated with grainy particles that provide the actual scrubbing sensation. I think the best physical exfoliating method is, still, the use of 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐭𝐡 — which most of us already have at home. Gentlest of them all, and is even safe to use nightly. Simply dampen the washcloth in warm water, add your cleanser, and rub in small circles beginning at the forehead and working your way down - be sure to use medium pressure. I also love 𝐏𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐆𝐞𝐥𝐬. My favorites are Cure - Natural Aqua Gel and Pyunkang Yul - Pyunkang Yul Peeling Gel . While they don’t exactly fall under the category of physical or chemical exfoliators , I find them innovatively helpful and safe even for sensitive skin. Peeling gels use high acidity ingredients and utilizes a blend of surfactants like dicocodimonium chloride and carbomers that help to bind oils together to attract and remove dead skin. I also enjoy using facial scrubbers like the DERMAFLASH - Dermapore Ultrasonic Pore Extractor & Serum Infuser 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐱𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 ~ use acids such as glycolic acid, salicylic acid, or retinoid to mildly exfoliate deeper the skin. One of the main benefits of chemical exfoliation is that it does not require scrubbing, so it’s less likely to cause major irritation to the skin. I have written about AHAs and BHAs in my recent posts -- do check them out if you’d like to learn more about the ingredients🙈Most results aren’t seen until 4-8 weeks with chemical exfoliators. Some of my favorites are: Neutrogena - Rapid Clear, Stubborn Acne, Daily Leave-On Mask PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution janssen - Retino-A 0.05% Tretinoin Cream Curology - Curology formula Still not sure how to exfoliate? you can actually use both a chemical and physical exfoliator if you’d like to. I personally find alternately using two types beneficial for me (don’t overdo it!). Skincare is a tough job. It’s best to listen to your skin, try out different methods, and you’ll learn what works best for you eventually❤️

What happened after 10 days of a vitamin C line
Over the past 10 days I have been trying out Georgette Klinger’s Vitamin C line! For a bit of background, I have acne prone skin and some hyperpigmentation from previous pimples. I went into this hoping to see improvements. To get the negatives out of the way first, I really dislike that these products have fragrance. All 4 products in this line have fragrance listed as the last ingredient. I would prefer products with active ingredients such as vitamin C to have no fragrance at all as to reduce any chance of irritation. The Vitamin C complex in particular was irritating to my skin so I omitted it from my routine early in the 10 days. My favorite from his line is the Vitamin C mask. I’m a big fan of masks and wash off treatments. I also love thta this is a bentonite clay based mask because those tend to work well with my oily skin. I will definitely continue to use this mask and don’t mind the fragrance in this formula because it is a wash off. As for the toner and cleanser, I didn’t see much positive or negative effects on my skin. They were okay and got the job done but I’m not sure if they’re something I want to include in my everyday routine. At the end of this challenge I can definitely see an improvement in the brightness of my skin. I will say however that my skin took a while to recover from any irritation it faced and I’m not sure if including an active ingredient in every step of your routine is necessarily more effective.

My skincare routine for clogged pores
Growing up I’ve struggled a lot with my skin. Even when I finally stopped getting pimples I struggled with clogged pores which I was worse because every time I used makeup it was very visible. I kept using a LOT of skincare products hoping something would help but it just made things worse. SO I completely got rid of everything I was using and just started with Kiehl’s Kiehl's - Midnight Recovery Concentrate Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Cream Kiehl's - Calendula Deep Clean Foaming Face Wash and Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Overnight Hydrating Mask which completely changed my skin for the better. I really struggled to find a moisturizer that didn’t give me clogged pores and this one really made a dramatic difference to my skin. I also use the KYPRIS - ANTIOXIDANT DEW as my serum sometimes and it leave my skin really soft and glowing. Now I started adding the ordinary skincare products to my routine and it’s been helping my skin a lot. I use the The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% for my pores and I also lovee The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 and use it everyday to keep my skin healthy looking. Sometimes I use The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution or The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution I don’t use it too often (twice a week) because these products a little too strong for me. I also started adding The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA to my skincare routine to help with my pigmentations. I use The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG sometimes under my eyes but I didn’t see any difference. And since I have darker skin tone most sunscreen leave a very bad white cast on my skin and I’ve been loving PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+ it feels like a moisturizer and the ingredients are really good!! Hope this helps anyone that’s struggling with clogged pores like me.

New to skincare and looking for suggestions
Hi all. I'm relatively new to this whole properly taking care of my skin thing. I have combination skin, uneven skin tone, large pores and redness/discolouration. I've recently incorporated these products: Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Gel-Creami think i'm going to switch this out to the regular skin, as i'm finding it really makes my face oily. I do, however, need the moisturizer mostly around/on my nose. Or for when my pimples dry out. C&C by Clean & Clear - Persa-Gel 10, Maximum Strengthuse this mostly as a spot treatment. It dries my skin out a little bit, but i find it really helps flatten my pimples pretty quickly. I've only been using this product for a few days. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%literally just started using this today. As you can tell, i have MASSIVE pores. I have for as long as i can remember. Lately, it's really bothering me that my makeup sinks into my pores. I got a new pore primer today though and, so far, I'm impressed! Neutrogena - Pore Refining Cleanseronly been using this one for a few days. So far i'm pretty happy with it! Feels great on my skin and the scrub has been helping remove dry skin. I have also started using a salicylic acid acne treatment, for Clean & Clear. It's supposed to help remove blackheads. I have always been very nervous to use toners as I had bad luck with the Pro Activ system as a teen. This dries my skin out a bit, but i do find it helps reduce the oiliness throughout the day, especially at work when I have a full face of makeup on. I'm trying to give my skin as much of a break as possible when I'm not at work. I wake up really oily no matter what, but I'm wondering if this is just a regular thing for people? I hate it lmao I'm extremely self concious about my skin. I hate it and I have since i first got acne at age 10. It was so bad, I'm pretty sure my pores are also so big because they're probably partially acne scars. Any suggestions would be great!! I find my skin is a little sensitive, but i'm quickly getting used to the burning of the toner lol Thanks in advance :)
Neutrogena-Hydro Boost Gel-Cream
Best Acne Nighttime Treatment (non-fungal)
Okay so I’ve posted results of my use of Differin Gel & now I’m going to post my usual routine. (When I’m not wearing makeup). My skin is so weird now since I started using Differin Gel (I went from extreme oily to more combo/oily). Step 1 cleanser CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser I use this when my skin is dry from the day. If I used a mask earlier or a scrub this usually happens. I also like this because I find that adding that extra moisture is important to prep for the Differin gel -or- LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel Cleanser for Oily Skin I use this of my skin is extra oily from the day. It’s for oily sensitive skin . Sometimes when I go outside with my heavier sunscreen it leaves that annoying oily feel at the end of the day (especially in my t-zone). This cleanser is amazing. I bought the travel size because it was first time trying it but I’ll definitely get the biggest size when I run out! Step 2- I left out my toner because I threw away my Kiehl's - Cucumber Herbal Alcohol-Free Toner after doing more research into the ingredients & ordered my regular toners I used to use. Step 3 Treat: Serum: The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% this is great for my pores and acne breakout I already have. I know it’s totes for oil control to, but I use it all over my face. *Actives* DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel this is my HG acne treatment. I’ve been using religiously it & now I need to buy a new! (I have a lost how to apply correctly). BURT’S BEES - Natural Acne Solutions Maximum Strength Spot Treatment Cream **NEVER USE THIS THE SAME NIGHT AS DIFFERIN GEL!** I use this if I get a really bad spot that I want gone by the morning. It’s the highest concentration of salicylic acid you can get over the counter & it has willow bark (a great pair for salicylic acid). I love a majority of Burt’s bees products due to the high natural ingredients. BURT’S BEES - Renewal Smoothing Eye Cream I did a previous post about using this & how its a effective retinol alternative. I have sensitive under eyes and don’t like to put too many harsh ingredients. This works great for my fine lines. Step 4 moisturize: CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion I love this moisturizer. It’s not too heavy but just enough ingredients to be effective. It has that extra added niacinamide I need fr my pores & it doesn’t clog my pores at all! WELEDA - Skin Food Original Ultra-Rich Cream I only use this if my skin is extra dry. This will replace my CeraVe (don’t want too much moisture). A little of this goes a long way! I use like two pea-size dots and it covers my entire face dr. brandt - Hydro Biotic Recovery Sleeping Mask after my moisturizer. I love how this replenishes my moisture. I use this mask 2 times a week.

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
