Here are current favorites and must haves: Left to right: bliss - Clear Genius Clarifying Toner + Serum

Ingredient spotlight: Vitamin C
Now a days you can take your pick of products from most common serums, essences, moisturizer, toners and even in primers and other types of make up. It is just one of those powerful ingredients that are great for all skin types. If you want glows skin, there’s a super ingredient that you should add to your skincare regimen, Vitamin C. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that protects your skin from free radicals and all environmental aggressors. Layered a serum or a moisturizer with this powerful ingredients under a sunblock, it will give you double the protection. Vitamin C also helps with lightening any dark spots you already have, by reducing “the activity of the enzyme that leads to the production of pigment, but it also addresses the existing discoloration,” —Dr Dennis Gross. Obviously, over the counter serums and tonics will not work as well as a prescription with hydroquinone or Retin-A at erasing scars and spots, but it will help even and brighten your skin overall. According to Dr. Gross during his interview with Self.com, when shopping for a Vitamin C to boost your skin routine, look for keywords like L-ascorbic acid and sodium ascorbyl phosphate (which are both water soluble), as well as ascorbyl palmitate and tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate (which are lipid soluble), on the ingredients list. Because skin is consist of both lipid and watery layers, the perfect product/ product that has the best absorption will have a balanced mix of fat-soluble and water-soluble ingredients. Disclaimer: please use vitamin c responsibly. With everything in life, too much of a good thing is a bad thing. So find your balance. Please note, I do not use the combination of these products in one day or everyday. LUMENE - Nordic-C Glow Boost Essence Serum 30ml $12-$25 depends on size and retail. Based with pure artic spring water and two types o hyaluronic acids this serum is super emollient and hydrating. Love love love how gentle this formula is. LUMENE - Nordic C Valo Glow Lumenessence Brightening Beauty Lotion $14-$18 A gorgeous lightweight toning essence with pure artic water, hyaluronic acids and vitamin c rich berry complex. I love that it is gentle and not drying. bliss - Bright Idea Vitamin C + Tri-Peptide Collagen Protecting & Brightening Moisturizer $21-$24. This has been my day/ night cream depending on my mood and what serums I’m using. Sinks in the skin well and has great texture. OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Face Primer $38. A gorgeous and luminous primer for all skin types. I love how youthful it makes my skin looks — a Dewey glow without being oily. #Meebak - Vitamin C & Cica Serum[products]#[FiveStars] $24. Six month update
I feel like I'm still figuring out what works for me, even though it's been six months since my last update. Products that work for 12 hour days in front of a computer at home don't necessarily work for 12 hour days on-site in a mask. Current routine: AM Products 1. DESERT ESSENCE - Gentle Nourishing Organic Cleanser 2. bliss - Bright Idea Serum Vitamin C + Tri-Peptide Collagen Protecting & Brightening Serum 3. Follain - Follain Eye Cream: Firm + Brighten 4. bliss - Bright Idea Vitamin C + Tri-Peptide Collagen Protecting & Brightening Moisturizer 5. I'll be honest, I barely leave my house so I've been lazy about the sunscreen 😬 PM Products 1. DESERT ESSENCE - Gentle Nourishing Organic Cleanser 2. pixi - Glow Tonic 3. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% 4. LANCÔME - Visionnaire Eye Cream Advanced Multi-Correcting Eye Balm 5. Spot treat with dermalogica - Age Bright Spot Faderas needed or bliss - Bright Idea Vitamin C + Tri-Peptide Collagen Protecting & Brightening Moisturizer The vitamin C products have really helped with my acne and dark spots! I also treated myself to patchology - FlashPatch Rejuvenating Eye Gels yesterday and cold eye masks are so soothing. Definitely recommend putting your eye masks in the fridge. Has anyone tried innisfree? I've been eyeing their products...
Apostrophe: Please Save My Skin ❤️
Hi Cherie family & Apostrophe crew! This year I have definitely gone on a journey with my skin. As you see in the photo, (the left is before my journey even began & the right is me today) I had very textured, uneven skin. It was oily, prone to breakouts whenever it felt like it (which to me felt like always), & I had a bit of hyperpigmentation. Today, I have a consistent routine, that I am content with. My skin is significantly clearer & smoother. But there is always room for improvement. I feel like my skin still gets so bright red in certain areas like my cheeks & nose & no matter what I do, it still feels super dry. One of my BIGGEST concerns to this day is my chin. I have always had consistent breakouts on my chin, even to this day. But it is also superrr textured, no matter what I do the texture won’t go away! Some products I have used that I’ve had success with are: I'm from - Rice Toner & AZTEC SECRET - Indian Healing Clay They both have worked very well for me. The toner brightens my face & when I use the clay mask, I feel the impurities being pulled from my skin. & after I wash it off, my face is always smoother. A product I tried & didn’t have any success with is: bliss - Drench & Quench Moisturizer It was definitely a no go for me. This product irritated my skin from the beginning & didn’t moisturize it at all. I feel like Apostrophe partnering with me on my journey would help me out SO much. They could help me figure out what I’m doing wrong & what I should be doing with my problem areas. Why my skin seems to always be dry & itchy at times & how I can work to fix that! They could also help me figure out how to handle my biggest insecurity (my chin!!!) & how to get rid of all the texture & make the skin around it smooth! That would mean so much to me & I would be so beyond thankful for the opportunity! Thank you so much for reading & I hope to speak with you guys soon!! 💖💋☺️
Best moisturizers for every skin type
Moisturizer Monday! 🌼The first moisturizer is the Ultra Repair Cream from @firstaidbeauty. Over a month ago, I had a patch of really dry skin on one side of my face, and while other products helped soothe my skin, this was the only one that actually healed and protected my skin. It has colloidal oatmeal with helps soothe skin this making this is definitely a must for my skincare collection. 🌼 Next is the @bliss moisturizer which I also like, it’s an inexpensive moisturizer for people with oily skin, I use it on nights that I have used thicker products on my skin. 🌼 The Niacinamide Gel Cream 5% from @naturiumskin is amazing! This is a great moisturizer for when you go back to the basics with a cleanser, a moisturizer and sunscreen. It’s lightweight and just skins into my skin. 🌼 Finally is the Natural Moisturizing Factors from the Ordinary, this is great for skincare beginners and just getting into understanding what they want from skincare. 🌼 What is your favorite moisturizer? . . . . #moisturizermonday #moisturizer #naturium #naturiumskin #firstaidbeauty #blissskincare #theordinary #skincarecommunity #skincarecollection #skincare101#affordableskincare #skincare #skincareroutine #skincareproducts #skincareblog #skincareblogger #ihaveathingforskincare #vitaminc #selfcare #glowingskin #deciem #skincarecommunity #skinessentials #skinessential #skincarereview #skincareregimen #skincareaddict #skininsta #hyperpigmentation #acne #discoverunder1k
Fall-Winter Nights Moisturizing Edit
bliss - Renew & Smooth Night Serum If you are new to glycolic acids or AHAs this is a great beginner’s choice. For me I thought this quite a gentle formula... I didn’t feel any discomfort or irritation. The gelly consistency feels really nice on my skin and the formula absorbs quickly into the skin. I have been applying this nightly on cleanse skin and allow the product to completely absorb and dry before applying other serums and oils. ✅✅✅Super Clean & 🐰Cruelty Free Bliss products are also made without: PARABENS • SLS/SLES • ADDED PHTHALATES • FORMALDEHYDE OR FORMALDEHYDE DONORS • TRICLOSAN • TRICLOCARBAN • PETROLATUM • TALC • NPE (NONYLPHENOL ETHOXYLATE) • BHA (BUTYLATED HYDROXYANISOLE) • BHT (BUTYLATED HYDROXYTOLUENE) • HYDROQUINONE • PLASTIC MICRO-BEADS The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalane I’ve been loving this squalane serum on my face and body this month. I have eczema on my face, neck and arms and omg guys... This is so light weight and it absorbs instantaneously! So far I’m just happy that it soothes the irritations (eczema) and give my skin an extra layer of moisture where I need it most. Clean product: 🌱No Parabens 🌱No Alcohol 🌱No Sulfates 🌱No Nuts 🌱No Oils 🌱No Silicones 🐰Cruelty Free 🐰 Vegan COSRX - Low pH BHA Overnight Mask This is ultra moisturizing. It has the consistency of Vaseline and ointment cream.. so use sparingly. Half a pea- size is more than enough for the entire face and neck area. Even though it is very moisturizing and goes on quite thick— give it a few minutes and it’ll sink in like a dream. I use this overnight mask once or twice a week/ when I really feel like my face just need that extra boost and glow in the morning. This is a staple product in my travel bag! Gorgeous product! I ordered mine from ULTA but you can also order them on Amazon, Soko glam, Cosrx, etc. This product is also 🐰cruelty free. Please let me know if you have any recommendations for eczema relief below. 🌟What is squalane? According to goodhoursekeeping.com “Squalane is the hydrogenated form of squalene (with an “e”), which is a lipid that is naturally produced by the oil glands in our skin that hydrates and maintain the our skin’s barrier.” With age, our skins squalene production decreases and scientist have found that hydrogenated plant or animal squalene will lend the same benefits. Traditionally, squalene are sourced from sharks’ livers— but thank goodness for modern technology— it can also be sourced from plants. Most common are olive, rice bran, wheat germ and sugar cane. 🌟What are the benefits? Squalane oil has great emollient properties— soften, keep skin hydrated and moisturized. It’s lightweight and absorbs instantly into our skin— because it’s a form of a substance that our bodies produce. Other than preserving skins moisture level, squalane can also increase luminosity of skin, reduce the looks of wrinkles, fine lines, and redness. It also has natural antioxidant properties— as it helps to repair your skin barrier and also protects your skin from free radicals. It is particularly great for dry inflamed skin, but it is beneficial for all skin types. 🌟How to incorporate into daily routine: Dermatologist recommends that you massage a couple of drops on your skin after cleansing, toning, essence, and serums. Then follow with moisturizer and SPF (for AM routine). Depending on the formula/ product There are heaps of articles saying that you it on your hair, scalp, and nails. Got to give that a go! The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalane — Clean product: 🌱No Parabens 🌱No Alcohol 🌱No Sulfates 🌱No Nuts 🌱No Oils 🌱No Silicones 🐰 Cruelty Free 🐰 Vegan I’ve recently incorporated this 100% plant based squalane to my skin care routine and I am loving the way it makes my skin feel. I have combination to dry skin with eczema patches on my (left) eye and neck and I have been loving adding a couple of this light weight oil after my serums. AM: squalane oil then follow with bliss - Rose Gold Rescue Moisturizer and MISSHA - All Around Safe Block Soft Finish Sun Milk SPF50+/PA+++ PM: squalane oil then follow with COSRX - Low pH BHA Overnight Mask I’ve also been testing this on my eczema patches on my body for the last couple of nights and it’s been good— so far no additional irritations. Fingers crossed! Please let me know what other squalane oil I should try after this one. Thank you! Be Kind, Stay Beautiful.
Amazing Products
hey, this is my skin care routine and it works very well for me. my skin rarely has pimples! i also use different face wash items that i will show in my next post! this is the stuff i use when i get out of the shower! mario badescu-witch hazel and lavender toner: the scent is very calming as most lavender scents are. this works very well for me, and is always very refreshing! bliss-rose gold rescue moisturizer: i have very sensitive skin, so this moisturizer is the bomb! it doesn’t have a strong scent, and it soothes my skin every time i put it on! mario badescu-facial spray with aloe, chamomile, and lavender: this has the same scent as the toner! this always hydrates my skin, and leaves it looking bright! the body shop- tea tree oil: this stuff works miracles. i put it on all my target areas, and somehow it works by the next day! this scent is very strong, but i still love it!
This $4 hand soap smells just like Tatcha!
If you love Tatcha products, you’re probably down with their included fragrance that is, in my opinion, quite similar across many products. I haven’t tried every Tatcha product, but I’ve tried a lot of them. This is such a good find! So affordable, but smells so luxe! 💎This particular “bluebell” hand soap by Mrs. Meyer’s smells exactly like the slightly floral, herbaceous scent of Tatcha creams, the Rice Wash, The Deep Cleanse & more. #Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day - Bluebell liquid hand soap[products]#[FiveStars] $3.99/12.5 oz So, in addition to smelling very luxury & expensive, like Tatcha, this is also a really good liquid hand soap. 🪴Mrs. Meyer’s site describes the scent as “garden fresh blue-violet & delicate floral fragrances” 🫒It’s not as drying as other hand soaps I’ve used the $2-$4 price range, thanks to olive oil & aloe. (Full ingredients in the slides) 🦋It only contains natural fragrances, & is free of Phthalates & Parabens. No dyes or artificial colors & it’s not tested on animals! No MEA or DEA. This brand is pretty easy to find, I know it’s often at Target!
Review on this baby
TATCHA - The Water Cream I got this sample from Sephora using my points. It has been laying around for a while, and I finally decided to give it a try a couple of weeks ago! I swear by my Lancôme creams, but I wanted to see what this hype is all about. - It feels lighter than my Lancôme facial cream. A little bit spreads so easily like water all over my face and neck. It has a nice scent to it. I thought it smelled like Eucalyptus oil, but it has Japanese wild rose and Japanese Leopard Lily. I have combination skin- I am only trying this during the day time, as it’s not creamy enough for night time use in Chicago cool weather. - The foundation spread very easily and looked flawless. At the end of the day- my face felt a little less shiny and less moisturized as opposed to my Lancôme cream. -Japanese Wild Rose is supposed to improve the look of pores. I do have some on my cheeks- but I didn’t really notice much difference. Most importantly! It did not break me out at all!! - So far, I still prefer Lancôme, but I can see this as a nice and less expansive alternative option in the summer. ❤️ Lancôme cream feels thicker and is more moisturizing- especially now with the cool weather! With this- I would have to wear a sunscreen. I have yet to find a sunscreen that does not break me out.

I want to share with you one more my discovery - US based brand Saian® which creates the most advanced natural hypoallergenic skincare products containing no artificial color, no artificial fragrance, and no parabens for use on the most skin. Brand believes all women are beautiful, this is why they specialize in ethnic skin, which is often overlooked by the mainstream cosmetic industry. Saian encourages us to love and honor our complexion by using finely-tuned products that the skin and prevent premature aging. Pure and clean American skincare, instant and cumulative results, support and education. This is Saian’s mission, so let's all be esty-besties. Strawberry cleanser, herbal toner, tri-active collagen serum, amino-lift mask (overnight) and replenishing cream. I have tried everything except cream. Let me say, I am absolutely in love with serum and mask. They both include fantastic ingredients in quite simple formulas (swipe to see ings). Serum has almost watery texture, like very thin gel, but it hydrates and plums so good. Mask replenishes my skin overnight and makes it supple and glowing. Cleansing gel is non-ing and I love to use it in the morning for gentle cleansing. Toner has some great ingredients too. It does contain alcohol denat, but its concentration is under 1% as it goes after sodium hylauronat. I try to avoid alcohol in skincare products but I personally find this concentration too low to worry about. This is my favorite in skincare products - clean formulas + science proven ingredients, they always work great on me.
Just realized that I’ve never
Just realized that I’ve never posted about my favorite local brand yet so here’s one dedicated to them! In Her Element is all about using only the cleanest of ingredients (no fillers whatsoever!) and seeking new formulations that is highly effective. They promise only one thing: maximum glow for minimum effort—which I am all about. Low pH Rose Gel Cleanser - one of my top 3 favorite cleansers ever. This has a pH level of 5.5-6 (perfect for maintaining your skin’s moisture barrier) and contains active botanical ingredients that gives you brighter skin. Lathers just the right amount and smells absolutely beautiful! Glow Job 5% Glycolic Gel Cream - I’m going to be honest, I haven’t used this consistently enough but just to give a little info, claims to get rid of dark spots and dull skin gently. Has AHA that is able to penetrate into your skin to unveil bright skin. Petal Skin Rose Toning Essence - so good I’m almost done with it. Rose water infused with anti-oxidants and niacinamide to clear up your complexion. Great for that layered skin method for extra moisture so you can use less products in your routine. Petal Skin Rose Clay Mask - features rose water with rose clay to get rid of impurities as well as glycolic acid to quicken dead skin turnover. Out of all the masks I’ve used this burns the sides of my nose the most but I actually like it, that way I know that it actually works!

Good Molecules : Niacinamide brightening toner.
Good Molecules : Niacinamide brightening toner.
Hey peeps. Good molecules gifted me some of their product and among them was this Niacinamide brightening toner. This is a pire minimiser toner. It helps refine your pores but also even and brighten your skin tone. I pour a little bit of the liquid toner -which is a little bit thicker than the usual one- in my palms (I prefer doing this instead of the cotton option) and pat it on my face and wait until it’s dry to proceed with the rest of my routine. My skin doesn’t feel dry after using it, which I love especially with my dry/sensitive skin. Also it’s alcohol free which would explain why. I didn’t notice any change right away but after a good week of use every PM routine, I definitely saw a change. My pores are noticeably smaller and my skin brighter. I can also tell that my redness have reduced. To conclude I’m not a toner person but this product totally made me change my mind about it. I’m sold on that one for sure and it’s only 14$ (++ it’s a glass bottle I LOVE THAT) Bisou 😘 *gifted but opinion not bought !
A pore minimizing toner!
A pore minimizing toner!
The Good Molecules Niacinimide Toner is an alcohol free toner that helps to reduce the appearance of large pores, brighten and even out the complexion. While using a blend of some amazing ingredients, like vitamin B3, naturally derived arbutin, and vitamin C, this toner does exactly as it claims! This is a toner; so it should be used directly after cleansing, and applied with a cotton round and gently swipe it on the face. The texture is just a bit thicker than water, but really just sinks into the skin like nothing, it doesn’t leave any sticky residue behind, and it doesn’t have any fragrance, which is great for my sensitive skin. This toner was gifted to me from the brand, before receiving this I never had any interest in using a toner, and often thought that they would dry out and irritate my skin. I am so happy that I gave this one a try, I have noticed my pores becoming less and less noticeable as I continue using this, which has been for about 3 months now, my skin is brighter but I am not sure if it is from this product alone as I do use other brightening products, as well. My skin hasn’t dried out from this, thanks to the alcohol free formula. At the price of $14, I would recommend this product to others, to anyone really looking to shrink their pore size and need a gentler toner alternative. The price, effort and the extra step is definitely worth it in my opinion. I am giving this product a 5/5, because I love that it has been shrinking my pores and not irritating my skin!
