Beginning of my journey
So I’m very to get back started on my skincare routine. Once I followed the Korean skincare routine which consists of a variety of number of steps (I.e. 7, 10, etc.) I had gotten some improvement but once I tried Zein Obagi, it sped up the process. I could see results with the first wash! I had ran out of products and did not buy anymore because they can buy pricey but tried to maintain the Korean skincare routine which helped maintain my skin, however, I had a child and surgery so I fell off the bandwagon for quite some time now. I am ready to continue my journey and show you my results and why I love zein obagi and will be posting pics and will inform everyone of the products I buy a long the way because as I said they are pricey! Sorry for the late response. Long story short I had a lot of personal/family issues throughout the week. Some nights I couldn’t do my usual skincare routine but still do every morning. Well enough about that stuff so after week 1, I don’t see much difference. Perhaps a little lighter but I also have been using other products I have not mentioned a long with basic spray on sunscreen to prevent further sun damage and wrinkles. Along with that Korean skin care routine it has been said (no cite sourced) that the oriental culture and their secret to youthful bright skin is because they are raised with using and live by sunscreen. Apparently the recommendation (still haven’t read the can) is that we should apply sunscreen every 2 hours that we are outside. We should even use it in the winter/all other seasons because we still get those UV rays. I did not know this! I thought one application and we’re good but nope! No wonder I still get tanned/sunburn after application in the past! So back on to the rest of the products! OBAGI - Exfoliating Polish - I still really love this product, I felt like this first week and 2 I have not used it as much as I liked. I have dry skin and with the other products that cause dryness (will explain later) I should have used it more. I have combination so when I have dry skin I use this product 2-3 times a week. On my “oily-er” days. I use it 1-2 times a week. I bet if I used this product more my milia/clogged pores would have diminished quicker. ZO SKIN HEALTH - Exfoliating Cleanser Normal Cleanser - I actually like this cleanser. I find it odd though, perhaps because I’m not used to having normalized skin lol, but afterwards my skin does not feel tight nor oily. This is by far the best cleanser I have used when it comes to my combination skin. However, I’m not sure if things will change during winter due to the fact that my skin is extra dry during cold weather but for the summer it seems to have my t-zone and other areas balanced. ZO SKIN HEALTH - Complexion Renewal Pads - er... I have brought down my rating due to the fact that I do not see any difference. I meant to get my vitamin-c brightener from Zein Obagi and accidentally got the wrong bundle but I tend to love all their products so I was willing to try. I see no difference in my skin and either this product or the Acne Control dried up my skin for the first week. I will not be getting this product again. Although, this may help with sensitivity and ph balance. Their other products tend to have multi-purpose (eye cream has retinol which also fights acne, milia, clogged pores, blackheads.) So I’m not too concerned about using this particular product. I rated it a 3-star because it did not break me out or cause any redness. ZO SKIN HEALTH - Daily Power Defense - I also lowered the ratings for this because you literally won’t see any(to be continued..)

Three must have Farmacy products!
Trying out some Farmacy Beauty products! I decided to treat myself with this because I just got a new internship!! (Technically ordered this before they officially offered me the job but oh well I’m counting it)! 🐝💛 I also just couldn’t wait any longer to try FARMACY - Honeymoon Glow Serum , and when I saw they had this kit with the FARMACY - Honey Potion Renewing Antioxidant Hydration Mask and the new FARMACY - Honey Halo Ultra-hydrating Ceramide Moisturizer minis I knew it was time! Let me know what your favorite farmacy beauty product is if you’ve tried them (deep sweep is def next on my list!) and I hope you all have a great weekend!
My Favorite Serums 🌸
I have sensitive combo skin that is acne-prone and these are my favorite skincare serums! A lot of my serums are focused in helping with acne and its aftermath and these are the best I’ve found. ✨Antioxidant Pore Purifier by Paula’s Choice $31 for 1oz This serum has salicylic acid in it and white tea. It is meant to unclog pores and help with airborne pollutants. It’s a light fluid that is the tiniest bit sticky on skin before adding a moisturizer. Before finding this, I was dealing with a lot of really intense cystic acne. After using for about two months, I eased up on this product and noticed my breakouts got worse which is when I realized what an effect this was having for my skin. I eventually did ease out of regular use and my skin has been behaving but if it does get bad again, I’m definitely repurchasing this product. ✨Very Cherry Bright by Farmacy $62 for 1oz This is a lightweight Vitamin C serum by Farmacy made with four forms of Vitamin C, the most obvious being from the Acerola Cherry extracts which make this smell so good! This serum is gorgeous. It’s lightweight and effective. This is a clean brand and comes in packaging that is meant to reduce oxidation which makes Vitamin C serums less effective. I find this helps with red spots, scarring, brightening and fighting free radicals. My biggest issue is the price but this brand does regular sales which helps. I’m about to try the Naturium Vitamin C Complex so we will see how that compares given the lower price point. Stay tuned! I’m also liking the Naturium Niacinamide one a lot. ✨Great Barrier Relief by Krave $28 for 1.52 fl oz This is a moisture barrier saving serum by Krave which I fall more and more in love with each use. It has Tamanu Oil, Safflower Oil, Rosehip Oil, Vitamin B3 and Ceramide for for skin regeneration, hyperpigmentation, anti-aging, brightening, acne-fighting and generally repairing a damaged skin barrier. This serum is turning into an all time favorite. I actually use this after a lighter Vitamin C serum on my mask area and it’s been helping to prevent breakouts from mask wearing. This product mimics your skin’s moisture barrier so it’s great for skin that needs help from too many actives, sunburn, etc. ✨Honeymoon Glow by Farmacy $58 for 1 oz This is an nighttime resurfacing serum that for me gets rid of breakouts and leaves me glowing the next morning. It has AHA, flower acids and honey in it. It tingles a bit when first applied but that quickly stops. I couldn’t go without this one and have a back-up. I like to use acids like this with a stronger nightly moisturizer like Healing Ointment by CeraVe! I use this maybe twice a week at most. 🌸What serums are you loving? Let’s Talk Anti-Aging Eye Treatment!
I have always felt like the area around the eyes is most telling when it comes to aging. That’s why I have always prioritized good eye creams and treatments. The JUICE BEAUTY - STEM CELLULAR Anti-Wrinkle Eye Treatment claims to reduce the look of fine lines and dark circles, and I truly believe that it does! This gel-like treatment glides onto the skin so smoothly, and I love the applicator that is used to work the product onto the skin. After using this for a few weeks, I have found that my dark circles are not as bad as usual, and I do believe it is keeping that thin skin very hydrated, and thus combatting fine lines! 👊🏼 At $50 per bottle, it is a very hefty price. However, a little goes a long way and I anticipate that this product will last a long time (around 6 months). For preventative, anti-aging skincare, this is worth it to me, and I still recommend it wholeheartedly to all! So far, I give this product a 5/5! I love using this, and look forward to this part of my routine every morning and night!
My skin improves when I don’t wash it??
Hi there! I’ve been into skincare pretty heavily in the last year. Ive struggled with hormonal and cystic acne since I was 4 (there’s pictures I swear!). While 2 rounds of accutane, age, and a hundred different regimens have made my skin a lot better today, I still get acne. I’ve experimented with serums, exfoliants, toners, cleansers, and the whole shebang and I thought I was doing it right. My routine: CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin PM The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution every other PM BURT’S BEES - Natural Acne Solutions Clarifying Toner AM/PM The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% PM LUÉ by Jean Seo - BALANCE AM The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution once a week/two weeks CeraVe - Resurfacing Retinol Serum PM pūrlisse - Watermelon + Charcoal Purifying Cleanser AM MARIO BADESCU - Vitamin C Serum AM When I was away from home, I didn’t wash it at all except with makeup wipes and my skin cleared up!Its also stayed clear for almost 2 weeks now and I haven’t had skin this clear in 3 years! I have sensitive normal skin with an oily T-zone. Should I keep not washing my face?

It has SPF 15 which is so important to me. LANCÔME - Hydra Zen Anti-Stress Glow Liquid Moisturizer Hydra Zen when my skin does not need tons of moisture I love this product. It smells like roses and does not feel heavy on my skin. @freshbeauty Lotus Youth Preserve we all know this brand is superior when it comes to the scent of their products. And this cream is no exception. But besides the wonderful scent I love the way it nourishes my skin and it doesn’t leave my oily areas too oily but it helps with my dry areas throughout the day. . I plan on trying a few new products here soon. After I give them all a fair trial I will be sure to leave my reviews and post an updated photo.

Restorative niacinamide will purify and calming zinc soothes stressed, blemish-prone skin Promises: • Improve skin texture and smoothness, while calming any breakouts and reducing excess oils. Ingredients: • Niacinamide AKA Vitamin B3 - reduces the appearance of skin blemishes and congestion. • Zinc is an anti-inflammatory. Encourages collagen production to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. Texture: It’s lightweight textures permit delivery of potent anti-aging, brightening, tightening or radiance boosting actives. Cons: it can get stinky, hence why I use it over night. I like it because it does what I promised. I can see my skin brighten and glow almost immidiately. My blemish disappear faster and my acne and redness is soothed. I add my Skin Inc Tri-light for extra activation. I would definitely recommend because for an affordable price ($15 at Urban Outfitter) you get a serum that truly works wonders in your skin. (And you can also find the at TJ Maxx or Marshall’s most of the time for half the price 🤫) Although, if you are anti sticky serums this might not be for you. I use it before going to sleep so it doesn’t bother me. Rating*: 4.5/5 *I can’t find the product in the list in order to rate through the app.

OLEHENRIKSEN Truth Serum
It smells like a big orange! The bottle is matte clear glass look, delicate and straightforward. The serum is clear and fluid, lightweight, and easy to absorb by the skin. And it won’t disturb the next step of my skincare. It can use day and night, but I usually put it in my night skincare routine. Because VC product is easy to oxidation, and the sun will accelerate the oxidation process. You need to apply more or stronger sunscreen to anti-oxidation. After two weeks of use, I can feel the changes in my skin. It looks a little bit brighter and smoother, and it doesn’t cause me breakouts. So I think this is mild and good for sensitive and acne skin. #OLEHENRIKSEN - Truth Serum[products]#[FiveStars]
Retinol: The Jack-of-all-trades
I remember reading somewhere a year or two ago that if your 20’s are about making sure you wear sunscreen, then your 30s should be incorporating Retinol. And to be fair, I was very skeptical that it was so “amazing” in helping anti-aging. But here I am writing this to admit I am a full advocate for Retinol. Let’s dive into why! WHAT IS RETINOL? Retinol - a Vitamin A derivative- is a power antioxidant. We consume Vitamin A daily in our food (think animal protein, eg. Salmon; as well as dark leafy greens and other vegetables). But does this translate to noticeable skin care benefits? In short, not really. At least not as noticeably as when it is applied directly to your skin. You can find retinoids both over-the-counter (OTC) and with prescription. The main difference between them is the concentration and type of retinoids- prescriptions tend to be much stronger. OTC retinoids come in 3 main forms; Retinyl palmitate, Retinaldehyde, and Retinol. Also the OTC retinoids are less likely to irritate your skin. WHY IS RETINOL SO GREAT? The reason it’s so great once you hit your 30s is because of its ability to help regenerate your skin’s foundation. Retinoids (the broader family that Retinol pertains to) work to increase both collagen and the rate at which cells turnover. Collagen helps keep skin plump, so you target fine lines and wrinkles and well as larger pores (all signs of aging). Meanwhile, cell turnover helps clear away dead skin cells exposing fresh cells. This helps with skin imperfections like hyperpigmentation, dark spots and even acne! WHO SHOULD USE IT? Originally, it was derived to treat acne. It’s ability to turn over cells, combined with its inhibition of sebum production it makes it an awesome addition to those who suffer from acne. Anyone who has signs of sun damage (🙋🏻♀️this girl), it helps fade the dark spots and even our skin tone. Maybe skip this if you have really sensitive skin. Retinol can be harsh on skin and cause irritation. WHEN/HOW TO USE IT? For a long time I thought you could only use retinol at night because it would degrade under the sun. But recently I read an article that said it’s integrity is kept in tact under high grade SPF. But in my particular case, I still only use it at night. My routine (works well for me): After I cleanse, exfoliate, and tone, I will take 2 pumps of PAULA'S CHOICE - Resist Intensive Wrinkle-Repair Retinol Serum and warm in my hands. I apply all over my face and down my neck, being gently around the eye area. Then I wait for it to absorb (takes about 3-5 minutes). Sometimes I will finish my routine there, and others I will then apply a sleeping mask. RESULTS: I have one particularly awful dark spot that’s been lingering for about 6 months, and I only saw major improvements once I began using this serum. Disclaimer: Retinol can cause irritation if you use too much of it (either in frequency or concentration). ✌🏼💕
PAULA'S CHOICE-Resist Intensive Wrinkle-Repair Retinol Serum
N e w b i e theinkeylist Retinol Serum Retinol seems to be the only thing that can keep my acne at bay. Skin has been wild lately without it and I've just introduced this serum into my routine. This particular serum is 1% stable retinol and 0.5% granactive retinoid with Squalane for hydration and nourishment. My thoughts on the serum, it's a lightweight formula that absorbs quickly, doesn't leave any stickiness, oiliness and doesn't leave my skin feeling dry. I get no irritation from using this and it's really helped speed up the process of bringing my cystic/nodule pimples to a head. For those who aren't sure what retinol/retinoids do, here's a brief summary 👇🏻 Retinoids and Retinol are derivatives of vitamin A and have been proven to boost collagen production thus reducing fine lines and wrinkles, speeds up cell turnover helping battle hyperpigmentation, soothing inflammation, rosacea and keeps acne at bay.

Omega+ Serum: Hit or Miss?
The product I’ll be talking about today is PAULA'S CHOICE - Omega + Complex Serum So let’s get to it! What is it? - A superfood serum for your skin with omega fatty acids that strengthen skin's surface with the essential nutrients it needs to be healthy, hydrated and visibly strong. - Available in 1oz for $37, or travel size (0.17oz) for $8. (PC offers 15% off when you sign up for emails, plus they frequently have sales) What’s in it? - Concentrated levels of omega fatty acids help replenish dull, dehydrated skin, revive a beautifully smooth, supple feeling, plus visibly soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. - This serum also contains skin-identical ceramides and hydrating ingredients to visibly improve skin’s health. How to use- - Apply 1-2 pumps onto face and neck. For optimal results, use AM and PM. For daytime, follow with a broad-spectrum sunscreen rated SPF 30 or greater. My review- - I have been using this serum for almost a month. I have dry, sensitive, acne-prone skin. - The serum has a milky, creamy consistency. It has a light, ceramide-like scent. I apply two pumps onto my face AM and PM after my toner and before my moisturizer. It spreads easily onto the skin and absorbs at a medium pace. - My experience with this serum thus far has been pretty lackluster. There hasn’t been any results that make me think, “oh that’s definitely the omega+ serum!” It doesn’t make my skin noticeably softer or smoother. I will say that the one time I chose not to put it on, my moisturizer stung a little, so maybe the serum acts as a barrier to decrease sensitivity? I haven’t had any negative results, which is why I gave it 4 stars. It is pretty expensive, and with not having any noticeable positive effects, I won’t be repurchasing this. My plan is to try Krave’s Great Barrier Relief serum after I finish this one! - This serum was a miss for me ❌ Source- - https://www.paulaschoice.com/omegaand-complex-serum/213.html
PAULA'S CHOICE-Omega + Complex Serum
The Ordinary’s Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% is the kind of product I can’t be without, because my skin will look worse after a few days. Azelaic acid is also the most underrated ingredient out there. At least in my opinion. It’s an active that brightens the skin, helps with spots and inflammation, helps with redness and can even help with skin texture (that one will take time though). Unlike other acids, azelaic acid is suitable for sensitive skin: It will even help with rosacea (Skinoren and other 20% formulations are a common rosacea treatment, prescription only though). Let’s talk personal experience: My skin didn’t get brighter, I use loads of vitamin C though, so my skin was “bright” to begin with. It might help you with that, who knows! Then why do I love it so much? Azelaic acid was the one product that finally got rid of those annoying small bumps on my chin and cheeks that never quite turned into pimples but also never quite disappeared. Azelaic acid also makes my skin look so much calmer and less red. I ran out of it once and three days later my skin was bumpy and red again. Apart from plumping serums, no other product has such an immediate effect on my skin! Warning: it’s super silicone-y. I know that many people avoid silicones. I was actually one of them for years. Guess what changed that? Yup, also azelaic acid. I was super scared of silicone blocking my pores and giving me more bumps, so I completely avoided it. After using a few The Ordinary products, I really wanted to try azelaic acid though, it sounded so promising. After lots of back and forth I finally did. When my pores didn’t get blocked and my skin didn’t break out I slowly introduced other silicone-containing products and realised that I don’t react to any of them. Thanks azelaic acid!
