My skin during my move from FL to AZ 💦➡️🌵
Two weeks i moved from Florida (aka the most humid state) to Arizona (aka the driest state) and my state didn’t take it very well. The first few days I was here my skin was so dry that it hurt to smile. I even woke up with a rash (maybe from the sun). My lips were SO dry. It was horrible. As a person with naturally oily skin this was super weird. So what did I do? Vaseline - Cocoa Butter Healing Jelly, Rich Moisturizing
Accutane Skincare Routine
Hey! Just wanted to posted a photo of what my skincare routine has been during my accutane journey. I have officially switched moisturizers from the thicker cetaphil/cerave tubs to the neutrogena hydro boost to have lighter coverage now that my skin is not drying out like it used to. MORNING/AM (listed in order of use) Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser CeraVe - Skin Renewing Vitamin C Serum Neutrogena - Healthy Defense, Daily Moisturizer with Sunscreen, Broad Spectrum SPF 50 Vaseline - Cocoa Butter Healing Jelly, Rich Moisturizing EVENING/PM (listed in order of use) Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer Absolutely loving all of these products. No irritation from any of them. Let me know what you think!
Rate my Routine✨
Hi friends👋🏼 I’ve been using this wreck of a year to FINALLY start taking care of my skin! I did a TON of research over the summer and finally started a multi-step routine last month. I’d appreciate some seasoned skincare advice, since I’m still mostly a newbie 🥺 ☀️ Cleanser: LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Medicated Gel Cleanser for Acne Prone Skin (works well, no strong medicated scent, and it makes me feel clean right away!) Toner: DICKINSON'S - Original Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner (not great, not bad, just an average toner) Serums: COSRX - BHA Blackhead Power Liquid (can already see a difference on my nose/chin after just a week!) DERMA•E - Vitamin C Concentrated Serum (LOVE this serum! I can already see a slight brightening of my skin after 1 week. I also love the smell🥰) The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% (Only gave 3 stars because I can’t tell if the recent decrease in acne is due to starting this or my period ending?) Eye Cream: VERSED - VACATION EYES Brightening Eye Gel (pretty sure this isn’t doing anything... I just keep using it because I already have it...) Spot Treatment: Clean&Clear - Advantage Acne Spot Treatment (Similarly to TO, can’t tell yet if this is working or if my acne was more hormonal¿) Moisturizer: LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream Sunscreen: Aveeno - Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer SPF 30 🌚 Make-Up Remover: CeraVe - Makeup Removing Cleanser Cloths (I use these on my lazy evenings) 1st Cleanse: VERSED - DAY DISSOLVE Cleansing Balm (LOOOVE. Helps get everything loose for my 2nd cleanse) 2nd Cleanse: LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Medicated Gel Cleanser for Acne Prone Skin *Same Serums/Eye Creams/Spot Treatment as AM* Retinol: CeraVe - Resurfacing Retinol Serum (using every night and I don’t think it’s too harsh, but it’s also not doing much?) Moisturizer: CeraVe - Skin Renewing Night Cream (very rich & creamy!) Vaseline - Cocoa Butter Healing Jelly, Rich Moisturizing (on lips and extra dry areas for locked in moisture through the night) What’s the verdict? Are there products I should add/remove/change the order of? I REALLY want a better eye cream and have heard good things about THE inkey LIST - Brighten-i Eye Cream??I’m also thinking about replacing my current toner with THE inkey LIST - Glycolic Acid Liquid Toner 100ml. THANKS 🖤

oily skin & don’t know how to manage? I got you
this post is for all the people who have oily skin and sometimes just don’t know how to deal with it! well i’m here for some tips! I have oily/combo skin and I’ve learnt some important info during my skincare journey that I would love to share with you all 🤗 1. still moisturise it is super important for people with oily skin to keep up with moisturising ! you may think that your skin is hydrated and doesn’t need any extra moisture, but it still really does. if you don’t moisturise, or use products to keep your skin hydrated, your skin can overcompensate with releasing it’s natural oils, which in hand, can make your skin more oily 2. don’t be afraid of oils whether this is oil cleansing or any certain type of oil (rosehip, squalane etc), don’t be hesitant to use these products just because of your skin type. for me, oils have made a huge difference to my skin, especially oil cleansing! one thing to remember with oil cleansing, is that oils attract oils, and therefore are oil soluble. products like this help to get rid of grease, blackheads etc and can be great for oily skin! 3. use products targeted for oily skin I know that this one is quite self explanatory, but here are some products that helped my oily skin become more manageable! - niacinamide. this ingredient is amazing for oily skin ! it helps to decrease oil production from within the skin. my fav product is NATURIUM - Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2% , but I also don’t mind The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% -exfoliation. now with this I don’t mean physical exfoliation, but chemical exfoliation! my favourite exfoliant has to be PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator this one is my HOLY GRAIL product of them all ! I have many posts on this product so be sure to check those out for an in depth description. - clay face masks. these are good for absorbing oil and giving your face a matte finish. some of my favs are PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Balancing Oil-Absorbing Mask AZTEC SECRET - Indian Healing Clay I hope this helps and if you have any questions, feel free to comment 🌟🥰
Differin Update - IT WORKS!!
Differin update!! These are no makeup pictures! The ones on the left are from the beginning of December 2020, before starting differin. The pictures on the right are today Feb 4th 2021. I am in my 5th week of using Differin. I am so excited about the improvement in my skin I could cry! I will definitely continue to use in order to improve my skins texture and reduce the scars that are left. I will list my am and pm routines below while on differin gel. AM routine 1. Wash face with water 2. NATURIUM - Vitamin C Complex Serum this is a nice lightweight serum! I am not sure if I have seen a dramatic difference in my skin but it does make my skin look glowy! 3. FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Face Moisturizer the perfect day time moisturizer for my dry skin. It feels very simple and soothing. 4. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios 50 Mineral Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid SPF 50 5. A few mornings a week, especially if I am at clinical or work wearing a mask all day I will tone with PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator it is non drying and helps unclog my pores and keep maskne at bay! PM routine with Differin 1. THE inkey LIST - Oat Cleansing Balm THE best cleansing balm IMO! 2. VANICREAM - Gentle Facial Cleanser perfect gentle cleanser that does not leave my face feeling stripped! 3 FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream just started using this and it is the perfect thick moisturizer that does not feel like it clogs my pores like the cerave cream did! 4. DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel PM routine without Differin On these nights I focus on products that will lighten scarring. 1. THE inkey LIST - Oat Cleansing Balm 2. GLYTONE - Acne BPO Clearing Cleanser this is a great gentle cleanser that fights acne. Has been working great for me! 3. NATURIUM - Alpha Arbutin Serum 2% just started using this so I can’t give it 5 stars yet. It is not irritating whatsoever and feels lightweight! 4. The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% I love the texture of this and I think it works great to fade acne scars. Especially paired with alpha arbutin. 5. FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream
I recently incorporated BANISH - Vitamin C Cream into my routine and so far it feels amazing! My face is softer but not greasy and my acne scars are starting to fade (will post a before and after when I can see a significant difference). I also like it because it’s in moisturizer (and stabilized) form so I have been able to use it with other treatments as well. I use it in the morning after washing my face with BLUME - Daydreamer Face Wash , toning with PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator , and using The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I would highly suggest doing a patch test if you’re gonna be combining these treatments with Vitamin C. I also add in elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 because vitamin c and sunscreen combine beautifully, and also cause sunscreen duh😂 Let me know if you have any questions/comments/feedback :)
Gotta love that moisture - especially when you have combo skin prone to breakouts! I cycle through moisturizers constantly, never really marrying any one. However, these two just might make me want to settle down 😌 e.l.f. - Happy Hydration Cream I’ve reviewed this little guy before, but WOW I hope e.l.f. never discontinues this line. It’s the perfect light cream with hemp seed oil, niacinamide, and hyaluronic acid for a long-lasting hydrating feel. All for $12 too! BANISH - Vitamin C Cream I’m using this is conjunction with the Banisher 2.0 for my acne scars, but I’ve also adopted it as a night cream! Though it’s the tiniest moisturizer I’ve ever bought, it’s so rich I barely need any to cover my entire face evenly. The ingredients are INCREDIBLE - aloe juice is the first ingredient, followed by rosehip oil and a bunch of fruit oils, with ascorbyl palmitate and ascorbic acid for the vitamin c 🍊☀️ While it is $39, I’ve been finding it worthwhile for the ingredients list ALONE!
Maskne is real!
Oh COVID-19, how you have changed not only the world, but my skin! I, like so many of us, am experiencing the dreaded maskne. Always concentrated around my jaw and chin, lower cheeks, and even the sides of my nose, I always notice these tend to pop up when I am wearing a mask for extended periods. Besides frequently washing my reusable masks, here are some of the products I have been using to get rid of pimples: PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator I use this like a toner just in the areas that tend to get clogged. Really helps with oil control for large pores and clearing away dead skin cells that build up and cause closed comedones (little bumps on the face). I also like to soak a cotton pad and let it sit on my nose for a bit where excess oil production clogs my pores. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Duo (+) One of the better benzoyl peroxide spot treatment on the market. I used a prescription strength benzoyl peroxide mask in my teenage acne years, and even though my acne is under control I still like to use this for pesky ones that pop up. It works well to treat all types of acne and kills bacteria. I use this after BHA as the BHA sweeps away dead skins cells and oil and allows the benzoyl peroxide to penetrate the pore. This product contains 5% BP which is right in the middle of OTC products. The higher the percentage the more drying and irritating it can be to the skin. Margarita Zinc Cream - this spot treatment contains 4% sulfur which kills bacteria and acts as an anti inflammatory, and absorbs excess oil. This one I use more for cystic acne and nodules that are deep in the skin. It contains zinc oxide (in so many spot treatments) and it’s tinted so it works as a quick concealer and treatment in one! All of these are pretty drying so remember to moisturize!!! What are you favorite spot treatments?

Happy First aid Friday 🎉
Any whoooo we made it ya’ll! We finally made it to Friday. Is it just me or did this week lag on forever. I’m so exhausted but I have such a busy weekend so I’m pushing through. I wanted to share my top 3 favorite products right now from @firstaidbeauty. • Bump Eraser: I received this in my @boxycharm last month and I didn’t know what it really was. This quickly became a shower essential of mine. I love using it on my legs and under arms to get rid of all those pesky little bumps that appear. No more bumps thanks to my bump eraser! • radiance pads: I received these in a gift set I bought and for a while I didn’t use them cause I was hooked on my chemical exfoliants. Lately I have been using these at night a few times a week for a light exfoliant. They don’t cause any irritation to my skin and always make my skin feel smoother. These are so easy to use and so gently. • Ultra Repair Cream: ahhh saved my true love for last! I first tried this repair cream when I received a mini in a gift set and I quickly fell in love. I have a full review on this product a few posts back but this truly is my lifeguard of skincare. It saved my skin when I had burns from using my chemical exfoliants too often, it cooled my skin when I had severe sunburn, and it is always there when I need saving. If you are to try any product from first aid beauty I recommend this. 15/10 in my book
Rosen Skincare Acne-Prone Products!
Rosen Skincare sent me two products to try over a month ago and I’ve used them both enough now to have fully developed thoughts ready to share with you all today! The Earth Cleanser ($18) has a texture unlike any cleanser I’ve tried before. The best comparison I can make is it is kind of like slime meets putty meets cleanser? It foams slightly when emulsified with water and is targeted for acne-prone skin. The key ingredients in this cleanser are Fuller’s Earth Clay, Zinc Oxide and Eucalyptus Oil which are all anti-bacterial and astringent ingredients that target spots. It is VERY minty and I find that it is almost too potent of a smell to use on my face because even if I strategically avoid my eyes (which you MUST do with this cleanser- be warned) it still makes my eyes tear up because of how close the minty product is to my eyes. That being said, I do enjoy it to wake up my face and appreciate the zinc oxide and niacinamide in the cleanser, but as someone who doesn’t even have sensitive skin this is a bit of a tricky product to work with. I did find that it helped dry out some active acne and smooth over some closed comedones, but I think I’ll continue sticking with more gentle cleansers and using active ingredients in serums and whatnot to treat my bumps. 3/5, I am glad I tried this product and think it is a great value for the size and price, but I would not repurchase. The Moonlight Moisturizer ($20) is another product geared toward oily and acne-prone skin and contains niacinamide, sacha nichi oil and licorice root extract to balance the skin’s oil production and reduce breakouts. What drew me to this product is the ETHICALLY PRODUCED, light-reflecting mica powder in the formulation that gives the most beautiful pale pink/purple iridescent glow to the skin, which even as someone with combination skin I appreciate! The ingredient list on this one is really impressive and minimal and I quite enjoy this moisturizer. I read a few reviews stating that this was good for all seasons and in my opinion I’ve found this to sit too heavily on the skin in the humid summer climate of New Orleans, but I will definitely get more use out of this in the cooler months when I want more glow. I’d rate this a 4.5/5 and a little goes a long way!
Goodbye Old Skin Care 👋
The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser - Left skin soft, but nothing special. Also, affordable! The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Facial Toner - Terrible product, does absolutely nothing. fresh - Rose Deep Hydration Toner The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% - Pretty good product, helped me with my acne, but not my blackheads. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid Serum - Left skin soft and hydrated, nothing amazing. The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting Liquid Exfoliator - Helped me with my acne, but not with my pimples. Didn’t overdry skin. Overall, it’s an overrated product. PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator Milk Makeup Cooling Water - Felt nice on face, but did nothing. Milk MAKEUP - Cooling Water Clean & Clear Spot Treatment - Helped my pimples, but they didn’t fully disappear. Clean&Clear - Advantage Acne Spot Treatment L’Oréal Collagen Moisturizer - Left face feeling hyrated, but a bit greasy. Has wayyyyy too much fragrance. L'ORÉAL - Dermo-Expertise Wrinkle De-Crease Collagen Re-Plumper Day Cream 50ml Krave Beet Yhe Sun - Great Sunscreen, no white cast, left face hydrated! Maybe a bit pricey for a tiny bottle. First review! - Detox oil?!
Hi friends! Fourth Ray Beauty is a cute cruelty free affordable skin care brand that is most known for their face milks. I haven’t seen many reviews on their other products so I wanted to share this one with you! This detox oil has worked wonders on my face. I struggle with oily skin and blackheads so I am very picky with face oils but this one intrigued me with its color! I use it every other night in my routine. This oil is formulated with Bamboo Charcoal, Salicylic Acid, Tea Tree, and Watermelon Seed, which work at night to absorb impurities and support skin clarity while a blend of oils nourish and balance moisture levels. First impressions: No black residue at all. The oil easily absorbed into my skin not making my face greasy at all! There was no smell to it and it didn’t make my face feel congested. The next morning my face wasn’t greasy either. I woke up to my skin feeling smooth and looking radiant! My skin felt so fresh and hydrated. Conclusion: After using this detox oil for the past few months I have noticed a huge difference in my skin. This oil has also helped out with my occasional small breakouts that I get as well. It has become a staple in my night time skin care routine. I noticed the jar does leak if you hold it and shake the product out but I am not sure if this is a issue for everyone or just my container. A little goes a long way! 10/10 would recommend!!! 💚
What's your favorite way to work up a sweat? Mine is indoor cycling 🚲 When fre skincare reached out to ask to try their workout skincare routine, I said yes faster than it takes to clip off the bike: 💧For the past 2 weeks, I've been taking the 123FRÉ set to my classes. These claim to be "specially formulated for sweaty skin." Based on the ingredients, it looks like their products target bacterial acne, dehydration, and irritation. 💦PURIFY ME Cleanser: low pH between 4.9 and 6. This has a milky consistency with little jojoba beads for exfoliating and soothing sweaty skin. This is a really hydrating cleanser thanks to the Shea butter content. My favorite item in the set! 🌤PROTECT ME Moisturizer: SPF 30, argan oil, squalene, vitamins A, B5, & E, chamomile. This is a creamy moisturizer that takes 5-10 minutes to absorb. The cream's richness make this a good pick for dry, irritated skin. It does leave a sheen that you need to mattify with powder - fine if you're working out (especially in a dark cycling stadium), but something to note. 🌿REVIVE ME Serum: Argan oil, fatty acids, squalene. This has a similar ingredient list (minus the SPF) to the moisturizer, but a silkier and thinner texture for faster absorption. This leaves a smooth finish. 🚲I was surprised by how hydrating each product was. They all share a slightly floral fragrance and use argan oil as a foundational ingredient. (FRÉ plants an argan tree for every set sold.) I don't know if it made a difference in sweaty skin in particular, but it's a solid set for active, daily life.
