✨VITAMIN C✨

iaramasri
I recently incorporated BANISH - Vitamin C Cream
into my routine and so far it feels amazing! My face is softer but not greasy and my acne scars are starting to fade (will post a before and after when I can see a significant difference). I also like it because it’s in moisturizer (and stabilized) form so I have been able to use it with other treatments as well. I use it in the morning after washing my face with BLUME - Daydreamer Face Wash
, toning with PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator
, and using The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
I would highly suggest doing a patch test if you’re gonna be combining these treatments with Vitamin C. I also add in elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46
because vitamin c and sunscreen combine beautifully, and also cause sunscreen duh😂 Let me know if you have any questions/comments/feedback :)

My Skincare Routine for acne/acne scars !!!
I’ve been struggling with acne since I was 11 (I’m 21 now) and I feel like I have finally found a way to keep it under control, so I thought I would share: Morning: - BLUME - Daydreamer Face Wash - this is a great gentle face wash that I’ve been using for almost 2 years. I’m allergic to a lot of ingredients on normal face washes so this was a great find - PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator - I only started using this one 4 months ago (after the first picture was taken) and I didn’t really notice the chance until I put both pictures side by side (every other morning) - The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% - this product has also helped dramatically with skin texture and acne elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 - this sunscreen is amazing, it almost feels like a moisturizer since it has niacinamide and hyluaronic acid Night: - Same cleanser - The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution - this is a more stronger exfoliator that I think has helped a lot with acne scars (every other night) - Vanicream Daily Moisturizer- I couldn’t tag this product because it is relatively new but this is the first moisturizer I haven’t gotten an allergic reaction to so I love it. It also feels amazing on the skin and has played an important role in my overall skin texture That’s pretty much it! Let me know if you have any questions/comments/feedback :)

NEW FAVOURITE CLEANSER FOR SENSITIVE SKIN 🎉
I love changing up my cleanser from time to time and the @blume daydreamer has been on my list to try for awhile now. I have been using the cleanser for a few days now and so far I’ve been loving it. It has a creamy lightweight texture and natural scent which I enjoy. It does a great job of removing my makeup and leaves my face feeling extremely soft. I highly recommend picking up this cleanser! I purchased the cleanser at Sephora! ✨ BLUME - Daydreamer Face Wash

Which Niacinamide would you choose?
This is definitely not a dupe situation. These two formulas are only similar in the fact that they contain the same amount of niacinamide (as well as some texture and preservative agents). I’ve been a longtime user of The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and it does work, but I felt after my first bottle I wasn’t getting any continued results. I was also left unimpressed and looking for a different option due to the fact that this is a very tacky formula that can be difficult to work with. TO includes zinc in their formula which they state can reduce acne and can be anti-inflammatory. At $6 you’re getting your 2 active ingredients; niacinamide and zinc. PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Niacinamide Booster includes the same 10% of niacinamide but doesn’t stop there. They also add vitamin C and a BUNCH of calming, hydrating and restoring products that your skin needs (see attached ingredient list). It’s been a controversy whether or not vitamin C and Niacinamide can be used together, even The Ordinary suggests that their Niacinamide not be used at the same time as vitamin C. Many brands and consumers have disagreed. Paula’s Choice adds the protective ingredients to ensure you’ll have less of a chance of irritation. Paula’s Choice serum is a lightweight watery formula that leaves no residue and I find easy to work into my routine. I wasn’t quite prepared for the thin formula as The Ordinary has more of a tacky texture. I found it best to add it directly from the dropper to my face, versus my hands then face. When it comes to the price difference it does seem that The Ordinary would be the obvious choice. I’m not one that believes that quality skincare has to cost more. But Paula’s Choice formula offers much more than Niacinamide. You’re getting several ingredients that are not found in The Ordinary, hence the price difference. Once I’ve emptied my bottle I’ll be better able to determine if spending 4x’s the amount is worth it. I could choose to use a less expensive option and add the antioxidants and other skin-replenishing ingredients found in Paula’s Choices formula, but I have to admit, I do like the simplicity of fewer steps in my skincare routine. 😉 There are also several other options available that I’ve not yet tried. I have tried The Inkey List and it is just a tad bit less tacky than The Ordinary. Other brand options I’d be open to try are: Good Molecules $6 - formula looks similar to TO and TIL with the only active ingredient being niacinamide Naturium $16 - 10% niacinamide and 2% zinc Good Molecules $14 - similar again to TO and TIL I LOVE how Paula’s Choice lists their ingredients. Behind each one you’ll find out how it benefits the skin. This saves me a TON of time and effort when doing my reviews! Individual reviews on The Ordinary and The Inkey List Niacinamide can be found on my page. What’s your favorite Niacinamide to use? ❤️🍒

Current Products I'm Using
I have oil/combo skin and been struggling with hormonal acne for a few years now which is mainly around my chin. I have noticed some positive changes but also some negative ones, for example I have more blackheads in areas besides my nose which I never had before. Here are the products I've been using lately. AM Routine I don't cleanse in the morning just splash water on my face and pat dry, then I apply PAULA'S CHOICE - Resist C15 Super Booster after I apply moisturizer e.l.f. - Holy Hydration! Face Cream - Fragrance Free then sunscreen Supergoop! - Play Everyday Lotion SPF 50 With Sunflower Extract PM Routine During the day I don't wear much makeup just some mascara so I just use GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water with Rose Water for my first cleanse, then I go in with PAULA'S CHOICE - Pore Normalizing Cleanser which I am just about out of so I will be using CeraVe - Salicylic Acid Facial Cleanserwhich I haven't tried before but decided to buy it because of all the hype! Than I apply my toner and depending on my skin at the time I will either use PAULA'S CHOICE - Pore-Reducing Toner or I'm from - Rice Toner I have just recently purchased and starting using The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% then I moisturizer with THE inkey LIST - Peptide Moisturizer I use PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator twice a weeks and PAULA'S CHOICE - 1% Retinol Treatment with Peptides + Vitamin C 3 times a week. My skin is still breaking out so I'm gonna try eliminating certain products to see if I can pin point what is causing the breakouts and blackheads. I recently purchased a cleansing brush and I'm gonna start by eliminating the Paulas choice BHA Exfoliator and start using the brush 2 or 3 times a week instead. If that's not the problem then I'm gonna try taking out the Vitamin C. If anyone has any advice or tips I am all ears!!!

UPDATE: I Quit Differin
This is a long overdue skincare update but I have quit Differin because it started to strip my skin barrier, and I kept breaking out even after applying the gel. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel -I’m about to run out of this cleanser and I’m thinking about replacing it with a more moisturizing cleanser from the same brand. This cleanser is excellent but I wish it was a bit more effective PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator -This has been a little too gentle on my skin so I wasn’t able to experience a huge difference after using this product The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 5% + HA -This serum is gentle on my skin and I have noticed an improvement in my skin’s tone VERSED - DEW POINT Moisturizing Gel-Cream -I came back to this moisturizer to give it a second chance and I’ve come to the conclusion that it is better for people with very oily skin and I have combination skin PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+ -This product is a chef’s kiss. It is gentle, hydrating, and very effective at protecting your skin from the sun I am still breaking out but I’m not sure which route to take. I’ve been exfoliating quite a lot and I’m thinking about going the other path and restoring the hell out of my skin. Any recommendations to restore my skin’s barrier and to increase collagen as well as clearing out my pimples and acne scars would be much appreciated!

It’s empty and...it’s worth it!
Hiya! I was lucky enough to receive this elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 from a giveaway through@cherie(thank you 🥰🥰). It actually lasted me way longer than I thought it would and... I miss it. The good: + Feels like a very light-weight moisturizer + Works well with all types of makeup on top (no pilling) + Easy to reapply and absolutely no white cast + Great packaging, I love the pump + Definitely plays well with active acne and general acne prone skin + Absolutely zero skin irritation, it feels very very gentle + Doesn’t leave skin oily or too shiny The not so good: - It’s actually kind of hard to find... so to buy this I need to either order online or pick up from a dermatologist. It’s not a super affordable sunscreen, but I’m okay to invest a little bit more money in sunscreen. And this also feels like it’s worth the price tag. I’m currently working on another bottle of sunscreen but once that’s done I’m likely going to be going back this one. If I can find it 🙈 Ps I have combo, acne prone skin

Face update
Ok guys if you been following me my bumps are starting to dry up and now I have dark spots. My right side is completely healed and the left is my trouble side. After seeing my dermatologist for my follow up appointment she went up on the dose of the retinoid I use at night. If you are wondering my routine this is what I'm using. Also go look at my old pics to see where I started from. Neutrogena - Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask I love this as it dries out my bumps LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser I use this at night and love how it's super light CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion light way and keeps face moisturizer at night elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 I use the tinted version now great for black girls only in the morning and I do two fingers when I apply it The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I just started using it super light weight. I started as a suggestion to help purging. Haven't told my dermatologist I'm using it but it has made the bumps on the right side calm down so so far so good. I'll update this to five stars after I have enough data to support if it really works.CeraVe - Healing Ointment I use when I experience dryness from the winter. A lot goes a long way .

My skin during my move from FL to AZ 💦➡️🌵
Two weeks i moved from Florida (aka the most humid state) to Arizona (aka the driest state) and my state didn’t take it very well. The first few days I was here my skin was so dry that it hurt to smile. I even woke up with a rash (maybe from the sun). My lips were SO dry. It was horrible. As a person with naturally oily skin this was super weird. So what did I do? Vaseline - Cocoa Butter Healing Jelly, Rich Moisturizing all over my lips 2-3 times a day I also started using my Vanicream moisturizer twice a day and my BANISH - Vitamin C Cream religiously. Now my skin is starting to get used to it and I kinda like it. I haven’t had a single pimple since I got here which I cam get behind. PS if anyone has recommendations for pores lmk (I already use PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator )

Gotta love that moisture - especially when you have combo skin prone to breakouts! I cycle through moisturizers constantly, never really marrying any one. However, these two just might make me want to settle down 😌 e.l.f. - Happy Hydration Cream I’ve reviewed this little guy before, but WOW I hope e.l.f. never discontinues this line. It’s the perfect light cream with hemp seed oil, niacinamide, and hyaluronic acid for a long-lasting hydrating feel. All for $12 too! BANISH - Vitamin C Cream I’m using this is conjunction with the Banisher 2.0 for my acne scars, but I’ve also adopted it as a night cream! Though it’s the tiniest moisturizer I’ve ever bought, it’s so rich I barely need any to cover my entire face evenly. The ingredients are INCREDIBLE - aloe juice is the first ingredient, followed by rosehip oil and a bunch of fruit oils, with ascorbyl palmitate and ascorbic acid for the vitamin c 🍊☀️ While it is $39, I’ve been finding it worthwhile for the ingredients list ALONE!

daily skin care routine 🧚🏼‍♀️✨🍒
daily skin care routine 🧚🏼‍♀️✨🍒
so this is my first post !! i’m so excited i found this beauty community !! a little about my skin,,, i have oily, sensitive, acne prone skin, with a bit of eczema so i’m always weary to try new products in fear of a reaction. i’ve had acne for 7 years now and have tried every product under the sun,, but nothing seemed to work for me. but this quarantine has given me so much time on my hands i’ve been able to do a bunch of research on ingredients and different products. but i’ll get right into the review & my opinion on these products :)) 1) CeraVe - Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skin i really like this cleanser because it is super gentle on both the skin and acne, and i can actually feel it soothing my face when i wash with it. it doesn’t lather a whole lot and my face doesn’t feel stripped or dry after using it. i don’t use a full pump either, just half works for me. it has helped soothe some irritation and redness in my skin. 2)The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% this product or ingredient even isn’t something i had heard of until i really started getting into skin care but it is totallyyy underrated. i feel like not many people know how amazing this product is for so many skin concerns. i have a lot of hyperpigmentation and redness and this has helped calm my skin down a wholeee lot. i don’t look like a complete tomato without makeup now. my scars and pigmentation are starting to fade and my face just feels so much less irritated. definitely one of my holy grail products. 3)The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA okay so this isn’t one of my favorite products in the world, but it gets the job done. i’m actually just using this until my new moisturizer arrives in the mail. this product is a bit thick but does a good job of moisturizing. i just prefer a lighter consistency. it doesn’t make me oily at all, even after 12 hours of wear. i don’t hate it, but i’m not in love with it either. 4)CeraVe - Resurfacing Retinol Serum now i would like to say that the general population is completely misled about retinol. it is marketed as an anti-aging product, which it does, but was originally developed to treat acne ! this is the very first retinol i have ever used and i started about a week & a half ago. even with this little time it’s been used, it has helped my acne sooo much. all of my pimples have gotten smaller, my texture has smoothed out dramatically, and it’s even changed my skin from oily to combination. i am in love with this product so far and i can’t wait to see more results in the weeks to come. definitely my holy grail !! (I only use this at night) 5) PURITO - Comfy Water Sun Block something every skin care fanatic needs and should use everyday is a good sunscreen. as an oily-skinned gal, i was less than thrilled when i found out as sunscreen usually just made me an oily mess. but this sunscreen is great !! absorbs quickly with no white cast. works great under makeup too.

AM skincare routine: YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser I just started using this two days ago because I felt my other cleanser was too stripping, so I don’t have any opinion on this besides the fact that it smells good! NATURIUM - Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2% I just started using this for my large ass pores and acne scars, it is super soothing and soft on the skin, but I haven’t noticed any difference in pore size or dark spots yet. HONEST - Hydrogel Cream I just recieved this, I ordered because it is oil free and I do seem to get fungal acne from using oils. I haven’t used yet, but I plan on using this as my daily moisturizer, but wanted opinions on it! elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 This can be a little too mattifying for me, but it gives me such an amazing glow when initially applied. I think I may have a sensitivity to silicones (dimethicone has been in like every product i use) & also is a mineral and chemical sunscreen which I just learned so I have ordered the purito comfy water spf to replace. PM skincare: Argan oil from the brand Cliganic to oil cleanse, I have been using their jojoba oil, but my skin kind of burned after I was done cleansing and I read that argan oil is a 0 on the comedogenic scale Cleanser: YTTP Cleanser again CLEAR SKIN Program - Bare Faced Moisturizer This is the moisturizer I have been using, if someone could please tell me what they think of the ingredients because I’m not great at knowing what is what yet. It looks beautiful on, probably because of the dimethicone but I am weary of it because I think dimethicone could be causing breakouts. I planned to replace this with the honest beauty moisturizer I spoke of earlier since that one is oil free and silicone free as well! **I use epiduo forte every other day right now, I’ve just started this as an acne treatment about 3 weeks ago and am slowly working my way up to be able to use it every day** I was using the ordinary’s peeling solution twice a week which I thought worked beautifully, but I am scared of overdoing it since epiduo is very drying to my skin as is. I also just order this Murad - Rapid Age Spot and Pigment Lightening Serum serum (travel size) to use as a spot treatment because it was on sale, and am excited since hydroquinone is so strong. Any input would be greatly appreciated!! ❤️ *I do not wear makeup and also mask acne is kicking my ass*

Healing acne and leftover scarring
Healing acne and leftover scarring
In high school, I never had problematic skin. It wasn’t until I became an adult that acne presented itself and it was everywhere. My forehead, chin, cheeks, neck, etc. I felt really ugly and would put makeup on to hide everything. I never left the house unless I had a full face. As silly as it sounds, it does put a toll on your mental health and self worth. After years of trying these products that promised me the world, I decided that I was going to go back to the basics and I started using 3 products. Yes, just 3 products. I used Cerave hydrating facial cleanser, zapzyt acne treatment gel and cerave daily moisturizing lotion. I really started to notice a huge difference with my acne cleaning up. From there, I slowly added active ingredients like the ordinary’s niacinamide and zinc as well as Sunday Riley’s Luna to help with my scarring as well as supergoop’s sunscreen. My skin is not perfect, but it has come a long way.

My skincare routine for clogged pores
My skincare routine for clogged pores
Growing up I’ve struggled a lot with my skin. Even when I finally stopped getting pimples I struggled with clogged pores which I was worse because every time I used makeup it was very visible. I kept using a LOT of skincare products hoping something would help but it just made things worse. SO I completely got rid of everything I was using and just started with Kiehl’s Kiehl's - Midnight Recovery Concentrate Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Cream Kiehl's - Calendula Deep Clean Foaming Face Wash and Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Overnight Hydrating Mask which completely changed my skin for the better. I really struggled to find a moisturizer that didn’t give me clogged pores and this one really made a dramatic difference to my skin. I also use the KYPRIS - ANTIOXIDANT DEW as my serum sometimes and it leave my skin really soft and glowing. Now I started adding the ordinary skincare products to my routine and it’s been helping my skin a lot. I use the The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% for my pores and I also lovee The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 and use it everyday to keep my skin healthy looking. Sometimes I use The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution or The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution I don’t use it too often (twice a week) because these products a little too strong for me. I also started adding The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA to my skincare routine to help with my pigmentations. I use The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG sometimes under my eyes but I didn’t see any difference. And since I have darker skin tone most sunscreen leave a very bad white cast on my skin and I’ve been loving PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+ it feels like a moisturizer and the ingredients are really good!! Hope this helps anyone that’s struggling with clogged pores like me.

review my morning routine!
review my morning routine!
Hi guys! Here’s my core skincare routine for most mornings. I’ll throw in extra products or swap some out according to my skin’s needs, but this is it about 90% of the time because consistency is key to seeing results. My current concerns are acne and post-acne red marks, as well as dryness from tret. 1. I cleanse with Dewy·er - Spirulina Face Wash . I got this because it’s touted as a miracle product for hormonal acne, and while I really like it, it’s not enough on its own to tackle my hormonal acne on my jawline. It lathers very well and doesn’t leave my face dry or tight, though. 2. Next I use PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator . I love this for gentle, everyday exfoliation and blackhead control. 3. LilyAna Naturals - Vitamin C Serum is my favorite vitamin C serum—it’s affordable, effective, and doesn’t smell like hot dog water! It also has vitamin E and hyaluronic acid. 4. I use Neutrogena - Rapid Clear Stubborn Acne Spot Gel on the days I have a few pimples I need to get rid of fast. BUT note that if I use this, I don’t use the vitamin C because benzoyl peroxide oxidizes vitamin C and makes them both ineffective. 5. I moisturize withPAULA'S CHOICE - Omega+ Complex Moisturizer , the only moisturizer that’s been able to actually get rid of my flaky tret skin. I love this stuff! 6. Last, I protect with PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+ , the only sunscreen I’ll ever purchase for the rest of my life. Seriously, the hype is real. What do you guys think? I’m happy to talk more about any of these products or my routine as a whole!

Review my routine for... redness 😚😚
Review my routine for... redness 😚😚
My main skin concern is redness (maybe mild rosacea?) on my cheeks and t-zone. It always looks like I am blushing and makes my face feel hot, so it is something I am always trying to solve! The two main redness-reducing products I use are the Niacinamide and EUK 134. The rest of the products I have included here are those that are just gentle and soothing in general. Glossier. - Milky Jelly Cleanser : This cleanser is so gentle on my skin and never leaves my skin feeling tight. It is perfect for my sensitive skin. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% : I was recommended this product by @leena.tabajaand@jane_brownto help even my skin tone! After doing some research, I found out that this is great for getting rid of dark spots, soothing redness AND decongesting pores, so I was sold! I have been using this in combination with the EUK serum for 2-3 weeks, and it has honestly made a world of a difference. I use this product in the morning so that I can still use my Tatcha Violet-C serum at night. Apparently Niacinamide can negate the effects of Vitamin C, so they always need to be used at alternating times. Kate Somerville - Goat Milk Moisturizing Cream : This is a perfect lightweight moisturizer for summertime. It is gentle and gets the job done! COOLA - Full Spectrum 360° Sun Silk Drops Organic Face Sunscreen SPF 30 : Always have to have SPF as part of the routine! This is the one I am currently using. It is lightweight but does have a pretty strong sunscreen smell. But it definitely gets the job done. With sensitive skin like mine, you should always use SPF. TATCHA - Violet-C Brightening Serum 20% Vitamin C + 10% AHA : I use this product at night to help even out my skin tone and give my skin a boost of antioxidants. It is a bit overpriced. I definitely enjoy using it, but definitely won’t repurchase. PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator : Since I have sensitive skin, I need to use a very gentle exfoliant. This leave-on exfoliant always leaves my skin feeling soothed and not stripped. This is a holy grail product that I will purchase again and again! The Ordinary - EUK 134 0.1% : This serum has a long scientific explanation of why it works, but basically it is designed specifically to soothe redness! It feels more like an oil than a serum and burned the first couple of times I used it, but my skin got used to it fairly quickly. Like I mentioned above, I use this at night to go along with my Niacinamide. The two together are really soothing my redness, and these are the only products I have ever used that do. And since they are both by The Ordinary, they are both under $10. So… rate my routine!! 🤗🤗🤗
