Does fragrance need to be avoided?
-thanks for reading in advance! š„°-
Fragrance can be made from essential oils and aroma compounds, solvents, etc, that you probably use on your body. Sometimes it is just added to neutralize the nasty natural odor of a product to make it beyond appealing to the public.
Fragrance is just meant to make you buy the product. I would not buy something that stinks, that would make me think this product will not work or that it simple is past due. NEXT.
But let us get to the point:
Is Fragrance bad to the skin?
YES, YES, YES. It can trigger:
Allergies
Asthma
Headaches (this is me most of the time)
Hives
Eczema
Nausea
Irritations
And it is simple because the more ingredients (chemicals) a scent has, the higher chance that you will get an irritation. The scariest thing is that brands are not demanded to disclose the ingredients of the fragrances, so we do not know how many toxic chemicals or ingredients was needed to make the product smell that way.
Type of fragrances:
Synthetic Fragrance: Made from 20+ ingredients, mostly listed as āFragrance, Perfume or Parfumā. It is not so dangerous as most of the people make it seem.
Natural Fragrance: Extracted from natural ingredients, like citrus and flowers. Mostly listed as ānatural fragranceā, ācitral or limoneneā.
Essential Oils: The is the WORST type. Extracted from flowers, seeds, leaves of plants, etc. You will find it listed as āLavandula angustifolia oil, citronellol, limoneneā.
But is Fragrance bad for me? -I do not even have a reaction to it-
The Expert Paulaās Begoun said:
āYou might very well be thinking that because your skin doesnāt show signs of being bothered or aggravated by the fragranced products youāre using, then it must not be a problem that applies to you. We wish that were true, but it is still a serious concern because skin is very good at hiding when itās being aggravated. You might not see the damage on skinās surface, but it can be silently occurring every day, causing minor problems for your skin in the short term and worse problems in the long term.ā
But is it true?! Well, the truth is that there is not proof yet for this. Maybe she mentioned this in base of one of her studies. But if you are not applying full fragrance ingredients into your skin, the consequences will not appear fast. I still think we should opt out of fragrance; it does not have any benefits either so why use it?
Let us also not forget that a product that it does not have an artificial fragrance can also be labeled as āfragrance freeā, so, be careful.

Do you know what your hair is asking for? š
-Hi! Thanks for clicking on my post! š¤š§”-
Here is a little info about hair care that I found useful. Maybe you will find it useful too. š
There where many times that I wondered what my hair needs. If it needed moisture, hydration, protein, maybe some hair treatments, but which type?
Many questions that I didnāt know.
Well let me summarize what it seems overwhelming, into this useful important but small information. š
Most hair masks and treatments aim to these two things:
strengthen the hair by adding hydrolyzed protein. Which is a small protein that is able to penetrate the hair shaft.
Or to hydrate the hair, by adding moisture.
How to find out what your hair need?
Needs moisture:
Hair is dry, tangled, weak
Hair is frizzy and very dry
Hair breaks easily
Hair is very brittle
Oily scalp with dry ends typically indicated that hair needs moisture.
Too much moisture:
Hair feel overly soft gummy, sticky
Wonāt hold style, breaks easily
Hair frizzes easily but is heavy and flat
Hair feels greasy soon after washing it
Hair feels more lifeless than normal
Needs protein:
Hair feels stringy, limp, sticky
Protein deficiencies can often lead to extreme hair loss and bald spots
Natural curls become limp, weak, mushy-like
Hair that has been recently color treated
Hair feels dry shorty after being moisturized
Too much protein:
Hair feels usually dry/lifeless, and brittle straw like and stiff
Hair lacks natural shine
Heavy shedding, and tangles hard to brush it through it
Dull and dirty looking shortly after washing it
Hair has more breakage than normal
Even learning how to take care of your hair can be hard. But maybe if you know your hair well enough, you can figure how to help him and make him look flawless. āŗļø
I hope this little info finds you well.
Enjoy your day š¤
Is Rice Water Actually good? š³
- Hi! Thank you for clicking on my post! š„°-
There is no much hard research on this rice water beauty secrets, however, rice water is said to provide energy, it helps with stomach issues like bloating, helps to protect from the sun, regulates the body temperature and many other health and beauty benefits that The Ancient Asian cultures used to use.
Today we are just going to talk a little about rice water benefits for the hair and a little for the skin. š
Hair Growth: Rice water contains vitamins like B, C and E and some amino acids for faster hair growth.
Repair hair damage: Spray your hair with some rice water before going to bed to repair hair damage during the night.
Add hair shine and volume: You can use some fermented rice water to rinse your hair to add shine and volume.
Healthy scalp: Having some acne in your scalp? Maybe some product build up? Well, you can rinse your hair with rice water as well. This helps to maintain a healthy scalp.
Glowing skin: Asian cultures used to use rice water to wash their faces. This secret ingredient will help them to keep their skin smooth, keep their skin bright, to minimize pores and to tighten the skin.
How do you make rice water?
Put two or three table spoon of whatever rice you have at home into a small saucepan.
Add 2 cups of water (add more than what the rice portion is)
Is the starch from the rice we are after, so donāt add any butter or salt please.
You can boil it for 10 minutes or simple let it soak in there for like 30 minutes. However, I have read that boiling helps to take even more starch from the rice than just letting it sit.
After you do that, just separate the rice from the water and storage the water in a clear glass container with a lid. You can store this in your fridge for 4 days.
I tried it for my hair, since I have some bumps on my scalp for a new hair product that I used. It totally healed my itchiness and it seems less inflammation and less pain as well.
Try it!
Let me know if you did it! š¤
First impression vit C and dust hair wash š¤
Hi guys! š
Last Friday I got this lovely Cherie package.
They gifted me the OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Vitamin C Serumand the OWA HAIRCARE - Moondust Collection Unscented: Hair Wash
It is my first time seeing a non liquid hair wash. I was so surprised when I saw the dust šÆ
It doesnāt have a smell at all.
Neither a color, it is just plain white dust.
According to the directions I just need to apply the dust in my hand and activate it with some water before applying to my scalp.
I might try it on my next wash to see how does it feel. š
I also got the Vitamin C serum. I have read some mixed reviews about this product. The majority of the reviews are about causing acne on acne prone skin. š³
The texture is liquid with an orange color, it also has an orange smell. I am kind of scare to give it a try, but I will for one week. I will take before and after pictures just to double check at the results. š
Thank you so much to my @cheriefamily for sending me these lovely gifts. š
And stay tune for future reviews on these. āŗļø

Too sensitive for a BHA toner? I got chu! š¤Ŗ
-Hey! Thanks for reading me in advance. šš-
I can say that everytime I would try any other toner that contains BHA (a type of salicylic acid derived from natural sources) my face would have a reaction to it. I would look red, my breakouts would go crazy and it would even strip my skin barrier.
Having acne is already enough of a problem to also have these reactions from a toner that itās supposed to help me.
But wth. Either way I found the perfect sensitive skin toner for my acne prone skin. š
What is this toner?
Is an Alcohol free toner with a 2% of BHA that gently exfoliates the skin, deep cleans pores and controls oil without stripping your skin barrier. YASSS thatās what we look for š„°
Whatās special about it?
2% BHA (salicylic acid) plus the Papaya Enzymes helps to exfoliate and minimize the look of your pores in a gently way.
The water light formula draws out the excess of oil to help reduce shine.
There is Moringa (is an anti fungal and anti inflammatory plant) which helps to purify and refresh the skin with its antioxidants.
My experience:
I began to use this toner about 4 weeks ago.
Honestly, I donāt have a complain. š¬
It is so gentle to my acne prone skin.
It helps to minimize those pores that I had on the sides of my nose and checks. Now that I use make up they are barely there.
The oils of my T-Zone are controlled.
And I have also seen that it helps my moisturizer to be better absorbed after applying this toner.
Itās surely helpful and not harsh at all.
If you have a sensitive skin or acne prone skin like, this is a go to for you. š„°
Canāt complain about the cute little glass bottle as well. It is so nice to look at, as you can see in the pics. š¤

My TOP Ingredients for Hydration and Glow!āØ
Hi everyone- itās been awhile! Between moving houses and the Holiday season, Iāve been super busy. But that doesnāt mean I havenāt been trying out some new products for you all! Over the last month Iāve found some new staples from an amazing New Zealand brand called Antipodes that really take my natural glow to the next level.
The first things that caught my eye were the scientific and ethical claims, completely vegan and scientifically backed bioactive ingredientsā this means whatever ingredients they include has a claim that is scientifically and clinically tested by independent labs. Antipodes is also committed to repurposing, reusing and recycling. This includes using recyclable boxes made from 100% biodegradable cardboard from sustainable forests as well as glass bottles, aluminum tubes, and printing with 100% eco ink from vegetables. Totally amazing! And no guilt from purchasing.
They have various skincare lines based on different ingredients. I was looking for hydrators and glow, so I picked the manuka honey line. I love honey, itās one of my favorite things to use in skincare so it was an easy choice.
ANTIPODES - Aura Manuka Honey Mask utilizes sustainably wildāsourced manuka honey from New Zealand which locks moisture into the skin, while helping to keep skin super fresh and blemishāfree because Itās antibacterial, which means acne causing bacteria canāt grow as easily on skin. The second key ingredient is Pohutukawa, which is extracted from a New Zealand native tree (donāt worry, they sustainably grow and harvest!) that conditions and deeply moisturizes. These essential minerals are easily absorbed into the skin because of the mudās fine texture. It can support the stimulation of skin regeneration and help to powerfully detox and transform the texture of your skin. It smells like oranges and vanilla with a touch of honey and leaves you soft, smooth, HYDRATED, and glowing. At 32$, a little goes a long way. Itās not priced as expensive as other masks though it could be with all the amazing ingredients.
Another winner for amazing glow and hydration is ANTIPODES - Manuka Honey Eye Cream 30ml which is the best eye cream Iāve used. No irritation or milia no matter how much I apply, and it doesnāt sting eyes. Manuka honey hydrates while kiwi and grape seed extracts brighten even the darkest bags and veins. This smells like oats and honey, and is super luxurious feeling. I need half a pea for both eyes, morning and night. Though eye cream sometimes feels like a chore, I really enjoy using this one. Though itās 46$, I can see it will last me for a very long time.
Do you have a go-to ingredient youāve always used? iāve always used honey, even as a kid making oat and honey face masks. I love finding products that elevate my skincare experience while keeping true to what I believe!

PETER THOMAS ROTH - Max Complexion Salicylic Acid Pore Refining Pads
Was something that caught my eye because the dr Dennis ones were getting pricey and this just was much less waste as well
Price $46/ 60ct which is reasonable as itās meant as a daily use item so $0.76 cents/day
Claims to improve look of pores ,help uneven texture and clear blemishes
Ingredients that exfoliate like salicylic and glycolic acid as well as anti-aging ingredients like peach fruit extract
Initial reaction to this product was wow this smells strong definitely held my breath a little when using and not in a small room but product size wise itās more than enough for your whole face , product is on a nice round cotton , with a wet wipe like texture that comes in a plastic jar container
Long term benefits/short term benefits I saw from this product were pretty efficient, felt tight and polished initially after the product dries on my face also not a daily use product for me as it does have some long term benefits helping texture on my forhead and even reducing the look of my pores so I started to use other products
Only reason I really rated it a 4 was because wow that smell was very potent and hurt my nose when inhaled too much also my skin isnāt sensitive so if your skin is sensitive please do a patch test!!
anese - That booty tho. The Original Booty Scrub
This product has been a repurchase for me and was honestly originally done on a whim after seeing their Instagram page ads and such
Luckily it was a product I got good use out of and nice results
Price $29 /2oz which isnāt bad at all especially since itās not a daily use item
Claims to help with acne, cellulite and stretch marks
Ingredients that exfoliate like walnut shells and hydrating ingredients such as Shea butter and jojoba seed oil
Initial reaction was wow this smells different not a ānice āsmell almost earthy but texture wise definitely felt like a scrub they recommend one scoop 2-3x week for a nice plump look but only used in shower so kept it there as it comes in a nice sturdy glass jar
Long term benefits/ short term benefit is that initial hydration it leaves behind definitely like an oil like moisture not cream like left behind and long term I saw great improvement on my bum clearing up and even looking almost polished! And was as smooth as butter š§ I recommend this scrub for the bum!

How can I bring my curls back to life? š¢
When I was younger I would want āstraight hairā like all my friends. I never liked my curly hair I thought it was to much work and Iād look prettier with straighten hair.
Well as I got older I regretted straightening my hair - I ruined my natural curls... I now try to do what I can to always do natural hair - no heat to it - I always use product because of the waves/curls and frizzy ness it brings.
Products used :
šæ shampoo/conditioner: Dove (hydration)
I love Dove as a brand - Iām starting to see more options for different textured hair from them - I am for sure going to be trying them.
š§“Hair Moisturizer (after shower): Cantu Natural Hair Moisturizing Curl Activator Cream.
š§“Hair Mask 2-3 times a week: Raw Sugar Healing Power
Iām starting to like Raw Sugar as a brand that Iām willing to try more then just a mask from them.
Everything Iām doing is a process I know will be worth it ...
Thank you āŗļø
TikTok life hack! Got rid of my razor bumps š³
I kid you not, this works !!!! Really smooth out my skin. Usually when I shave there is some irritation and itchy going around. When I instantly put the deodorant after I finished shaving it automatically soothe and calm my skins. You must try to see it yourself!!!! I typically like to keep my private part area clean so thatās where I applied the deodorant.
Here is some knowledge and truth why this work! Razor bumps are not very appealing, but shaving, plucking, and waxing are the primary culprit.
The deodorant offer a bit of healing that consist of aluminum chloride that works like an astringent to cleanse any bacteria hanging around your bumps.
āAluminum chloride is an antiperspirant that works by affecting the cells that produce sweatā (https://www.mottchildren.org/health-library/d01322a1#:~:text=Aluminum%20chloride%20hexahydrate%20is%20an,excessive%20sweating%2C%20also%20called%20hyperhidrosis.
Even though this ingredient help reduce your sweat, in other terms it also help treat my razor bumps.
This is based on my understanding and research, that personally works for me. I highly recommend you do more research before you use!
In my opinion, menās razor works more efficiently than the women. I got mine at Costco, or you can get at any drugstore.
NATIVE - Coconut & Vanilla (Sensitive) I honestly cherish this deodorant. Clean ingredients, and stay on for a long time! Even though it is a bit pricy, it is worth every penny. They also have different scents, by far the coconut vanilla is my favorite^^

Closed comedones breakout
BACKSTORY:
A few weeks ago I had no idea what was going on because my skin has never broken out before! Iāve practically had pretty clear skin all of my life.
WHAT HAPPENED?? :
Iām 22 now and I tried out oil cleansing to clear out my black heads... worst. mistake. of my life. It completely broke me out into tiny little bumps that were skin colored and it was gross genuinely gross. When I would wash my face or run my fingers on my face it was bumpy practically everywhere. Specifically my t zone forehand was minimal, cheeks around my nose, around my mouth and chin. My skin was super textured everywhere. Then BOOM!!! š„ my face exploded into a ton of pimples one after the other it seemed like it was never going to get better. One would heal and 3 new ones would pop up. I tried everything underneath the sun. I had many breakdowns and breakouts! My skin is finally getting better and could not be more thankful!!!!
WHAT BROKE ME OUT:
DHC - Deep Cleansing Oil and Lip Cream Gift Set
- This is really just is not for everyone.
ROUTINE:
CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin
- The only reason Iām giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I find it drying but itās been helping a lot!!
#Dr. Eddieās - Happy Cappy[products]#[FiveStars]
- This contains zinc pyrthione which helps so much with acne, closed comedones, fungal acne and itās a shampoo for babies so i found it to be really gentle on the skin
CeraVe - AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30
- again I didnāt find it to be super moisturizing, but itās okay I need to find something non comedogenic that will help my stay hydrated.
⢠⢠⢠⢠⢠⢠⢠⢠⢠⢠⢠⢠⢠⢠⢠⢠⢠⢠⢠⢠⢠⢠⢠⢠⢠⢠⢠⢠ā¢
MY SKIN TYPE:
I stripped down to the basics and just for reference I have comboish skin (oilier T zone, dry/normal everywhere else) although lately itās been more dry since I started moisturizing which is odd but really I need to find a better moisturizer.
**** These pictures were taken 6 days apart ****
š· September 9th - September 15th
I hope someone finds this helpful ā¤ļø if they have experienced an oil cleansing disaster like I did
