My Process for Flawless Foundation
While I’m no makeup expert, I’ve found what makes me feel confident and beautiful. Here’s my process for achieving flawless foundation:
Maintaining a healthy base is absolutely key to flawless foundation. Start off with a clean and moisturized face. Listen to your skin and watch how it reacts to products. Focus on skincare so that when you apply foundation, it’ll glide on in a breeze. If interested, I’ve described my skin routine previously for Cherie but if you’d like a spoiler, buy DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel
After my face is prepped, I apply MAYBELLINE - Cover Stick Concealer directly onto any dark spots and redness. The green color helps to offset discoloration but it’s important to lightly blend it out afterwards so that the color isn’t too harsh and can be covered by foundation.
And then comes actual foundation: You’re going to want to do research...and lots of it before you find your perfect fit. I’m not even sure if I’ve found mine, seeing that I mix two different foundations to satisfy my coverage and skin tone needs. There’s sheer, medium, and full coverage foundations so be sure to understand what you’re searching for. Look past just the labeling and what foundations claim that they’ll do. Go the extra mile and research the ingredients too. Try out different shades with specific undertones. Keep in mind that you may be a different color in the summer compared to the winter.
I mixNARS - Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation and MAYBELLINE - Fit Me Matte + Poreless Liquid Foundation and have come to be satisfied with the outcome (although I’d love to only spend $$$ on one foundation). So, yes, it’s a journey and a long one that even I’m still on, but it’s one worth going on.
I contour with KKW BEAUTY - Crème Contour & Highlight Sets and honestly I love these. The contour colors aren’t too light or too dark for me and glide on smoothly, perfect to blend.
I use the typical beauty blender for my foundation and wet it with water as most do to prevent excess product from soaking in. Make sure to gently dab instead of just rubbing foundation in and use product conservatively. I use e.l.f. - Beautifully Bare Blending Brush to blend my highlight contour and really like it because of the brush’s precision.
I can’t stress to you enough how important it is to consistently change your beauty blender and clean your makeup brushes. This goes along with protecting and maintaining skincare. I use MAC - Brush Cleanser and a brush cleansing pad that I bought from Amazon. I simply soak the cleanser onto each individual brush in a bowl, brush it over the cleansing pad, rinse it off with water, and leave the brush to air dry. It may take some time but it’s totally worth it every so often. Trust me, your skin will thank you.

TIPS TO LOOK DECENT IN PHOTO ID’s✨
If you clicked on this, you’re probably like me and care what you look like in your id photos. You have your license with you for quite a bit so it makes sense to want it to look good. Here are some tips I used to take my photo that left results that I’m not embarrassed to show others when needed.
LESS IS NOT MORE
You always hear how less is more and that’s usually the case when you’re not being photographed. In pictures, lots of the makeup can be lost through the lens if it’s not exaggerated. Think false lashes and over lined lips to stand out.
STICK TO NEUTRALS
Today is not the day to try out bright colors and glitters. (Choose shades that compliment your natural skin tone. It is important to match your foundation and avoid using black shadow/ liners.) With bright colors you run the risk of becoming washed out with a color that does not suit you and glitter can create unwanted flashback mistakes, which takes me to my next point.
BE PICKY WITH YOUR SETTING POWDER
Nobody likes taking a picture and seeing that washed out white-cast all over their face from setting powder. To avoid this, simply stick to fine translucent powders such as the laura mercier - Translucent Loose Setting Powder . Powders that advertise ‘HD’ tend to create a flashback when photographed.
CONTOUR/HIGHLIGHTING IS YOUR NEW BFF
Remember those crazy contouring looks from 5 years ago? With photographing ID’s, those skills may come in handy. A photo is 2D so we want to bring more to the photo with these illusions. Choose a highlighter shade up to 2-3 shades lighter than your skin tone and highlight the tops of the cheekbones, down the bridge of the nose, inner corner of the eye, and brow bone. With contouring, chose a neutral shade up to 3-4 shade darker than your skin tone and apply to the hollows of your cheeks, temples of the forehead, down the side of the nose, and finally the jawline. I recommend NARS - Radiant Creamy Concealer for highlighting and KKW BEAUTY - Crème Contour & Highlight Sets for contouring.

Worth it? UOMA Beauty Concealer + Contour Stick
UOMA Beauty Concealer and Contour Stick are very popular (at least in the makeup circles that I follow). UOMA Beauty in general has garnered a lot of attention, and, I finally got around to trying some products out. So, for these two products, I’m going to answer: are they worth it?
Answer is: YES YES AND YES!!!!!
These two products are amazingggg. First, the concealer UOMA BEAUTY - Stay Woke Luminous Brightening Concealer has a beautiful consistency that brightens and conceals without looking cakey. Retailing for $25, I think you get a BANG for your buck with this product. And this is coming from someone who has never spent more than $10 on a concealer 😂
Second, the contour stick UOMA BEAUTY - Stay Woke Luminous Brightening Concealer is a wonderful product that gives nice 2-in-1 action. I adore anything that is a multi tasker because I am constantly on the go and, well, late, haha. It’s simple to use, and they have a wide range of shades for a wide range of skin tones. UOMA Beauty in general has done a great job with their shade ranges, and the quality of their products is unbelievable. And that’s on beautifully Black and Woman owned baby 💃🏾
Final thoughts: I highly suggest these two products. I use the “bronze venus” shade for the concealer and the contour stick. If you are someone who is commonly left out for makeup selections in contour products and high quality concealer products, this is definitely a dynamic duo to give a try. Happy makeup hunting and thank you for reading ! ❤️

New #makeupmonday
I have made the decision to explore WOC makeup (and skincare) brands and made my first purchase with Uoma Beauty.
I absolutely love what this brand stands and knew I needed to give it a try!

I’ve started with their UOMA BEAUTY - Brow-Fro Kit as I am always struggling to fill out my brows. I love all three products but unfortunately the shade it too light for me. This is the only disadvantage I’ve found to ordering makeup online. It’s so hard to guess which shade will be right for you. But each brow product it so easy to work with. I especially love the UOMA BEAUTY - BROW-FRO Blow Out Gel ! I can hopefully get it on my range the next time I place and order as I’d like to give the foundation a try in the future.
I am LOVING the UOMA BEAUTY - Double Take Contour Stick in shade 3 honey/honey as the deeper color blends like butter and the highlight is gorgeous! Perfect for my brow bones, nose and high points of the cheek! And you can’t go wrong as right now instead of $40 it’s a whopping savings and only $15!
The Brow-Fro Kit is on sale as well from $70 to $50!
Have you tried anything from Uoma Beauty? I’d be very curious to hear what your faves are as I make the change to be more inclusive!
Also, if you don’t follow @heysharonc on IG (founder) you’re missing out!
An absolute beauty inside and out! ❤️

Monochromatic makeup! Blush on cheeks & eyes!
Not sure what to do with your makeup today? Pick up your favorite blush and let’s use it everywhere for a monochromatic look!
One of my best tips for makeup is keeping it simple!
For this look I took a go to blush of mine and used it on my cheeks and eyes and found a matching lipstick to match.
Get your beat going and apply your blush onto your cheeks and then take an eyeshadow brush and dip into it and blend it out on your eyes. You can go soft and subtle to keep the look cohesive OR you can go with a bang and really be the center of attention. It’s really easy and great for when you are out of inspiration or just need something simple.

Tarte has some of my favorite blush! It has the best wear with pigment and longevity.

3 steps for a perfect base!
these are the three products I use if I want a super flawless face of make up. this is not what I use instead of skin care but rather, in addition to. I always start my make up by making sure I’m wearing SPF.
what I love about these three steps is they’re a perfect starting point—you can either add products if you want to glam it up, or keep it like this for a simple, fresh face look.
tarte - Shape Tape Concealer
I like to start my base my concealing. a high coverage concealer like this one covers most of my imperfections, which in turn causes me to use less foundation than I would if I started with foundation first! I like to apply it under my eyes, around my nose, and a bit by my mouth, the areas where I have discoloration.
L'ORÉAL - Infallible Fresh Wear 24HR Foundation
this is my favorite foundation, it’s pretty good coverage but doesn’t look or feel cakey at all! I use 1 pump & usually just dot a few spots of this with my beauty blender.
ILIA - Color Haze Multi-Use Pigment
I love this pigment because it’s super natural looking and just a few specks add a beautiful effect to the skin. I use it on the tops of my cheekbones and along my nose to mimick where the sun would kiss my skin. I blend this in with my finger tips and rub any excess on my eye lids.
that’s it! this super simple routine really helps me feel a little more comfortable in my skin, and looks ultra natural.

Hint hint skin tint- Morphe 2 🔥
Okay so it’s been about a solid week since using this foundation and I’m beyond blown away! Normally I lean away from anything that is sheer or light coverage because I have acne scars that show through that but this stuff is amazing! It’s so hard to explain because I’ve never used anything like this! It’s a thin water-based formula and goes on super watery but after it’s blended out it just sticks in place! The craziest thing is how it leaves this dewy finish when it dries down!!! Most “dewy” formulas tend to break me out because they’re heavy in oils and they also shift around if I don’t set them right away. However THIS is a game changer. A breathable, Water-based formula that leaves the skin dewy and not oily! I use the shade “Hint of Toffee” for reference. If you’re looking for something a little different, that can build up coverage and still look natural then I 100% recommend this foundation. Morphe hit it out of the park with their Morphe 2 line 🔥 MORPHE - Hint Hint Skin Tint

This makeup and hair was inspired by Audrey Hepburn in “Sabrina.” I have always loved Audrey’s simple yet sophisticated makeup looks, and her trademark bold, straight eyebrows. “Sabrina” is one of my favorite films, just for the gorgeous costumes and makeup looks alone.
