My advice for bleached + colored hair!
I am no stranger to putting my hair through the ringer. I’ve literally done it all to my hair... and I mean shaved it, bleached it, rainbow.. EVERYTHING. One thing I was always stopped and asked was how I kept my hair so soft and healthy with all the bleach and processing. My best tips are pretty manageable, but also a big investment in your hair! >> Bleaching your hair << Go to a professional. Don’t fry your hair off please. It’s really not as simple as just applying bleach to your hair and BAM it’s lighter. NOPE. That’s not how it works. Everyone’s hair lifts different and has its own kind of undertone it will lift to. Some of us can go to platinum pretty quickly, but I could not. It was always an ALL day process for me. Be patient and don’t push your hair too far. It grows back, but do you really want to have to deal with bleach damaged hair? >> hair color! How to maintain it! << Color fades and it either looks cool or you need to get that touch up ASAP.
wash your hair less frequently. Skip a few days and use dry shampoo.IGK - First Class Charcoal Detox Dry Shampoo
use a color depositing shampoo/ conditioner! My favorite to use is Overtone. I have used the bright colors and the natural brown color from the brand. *WEAR GLOVES WHEN USING! Thank me later lol*OVERTONE - Magenta Coloring Conditioner
try a gloss! It will add shine and color the outside of your hair strands. This will cover up greys as well.#dpHUE - Gloss+ Black[products]# >> KEEPING YOUR HAIR HEALTHY!!<< It’s really all in the products you use and what heat you put on your hair. Invest in GOOD shampoo. My best recs:
let your hair air dry. Blow dryer can add so much more damage.
use a scarf and braid your hair to get waves. Throw curlers in over night.
simply limit your weekly heat use on your hair.
don’t use the highest setting. Your hair doesn’t need 400 degrees to curl.
USE HEAT PROTECTANT!
make that hair style last honey! Use that dry shampoo instead of starting fresh the next day.
use a spray conditioner!KRISTIN ESS - STYLE REVIVING Dry Conditioner

Damaged hair? 🤦🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️ YUP that’s me. After a year of bleaching my hair to platinum and random colors, my hair is official DEAD RIP 🥺 BUT fear not because I have found a holy grail shampoo that has slowly restored the shine, gotten rid of frizz, and made my hair so soft and much healthier! R+Co - Atlantis Moisturizing Shampoo This hydrating shampoo has been a big game changer! My dry, frizzy, and damaged hair finally looks soft and shiny. I can run my fingers through my hair and I don’t just throw it up in a bun anymore. I use this product with the R+Co. Palm Springs hair mask for max repairing and hydration. +Vitamin B5 hydrates the hair and adds a beautiful natural sheen. + Prickly pear extract promoters a healthy and balanced pH of the hair/scalp. + Glycerin retains moisture while keeping the water balance of hair. + Nettle Extract adds shine, helps frizz, strengthens hair, and hydrated. + SMELLS SO GOOD + lathers up really nicely + great thick consistency + little goes a long way. + doesn’t make oily hair more greasy. No negatives so far from me! I actually genuinely love this shampoo! Will I repurchase? BIG YES.
Overtone turned my hair orange 👎
My hair is a warm chocolate brown but grows in considerably lighter around my face. I decided to give Overtone a try to help even out my hair. Biggest mistake! OVERTONE - Coloring Conditioner To start, it is my fault for putting it in an obvious place and not doing a test spot. I take complete responsibility. That was my bad. However, this product still turned my hair orange when it was supposed to safely color it a chocolate brown. It is advertised to deposit color in dyed or natural hair, so there’s no reason for this to have happened. After leaving it in for the allotted 5-15 mins, I rinsed it to discover this. Everywhere the product touched turned orange. I do NOT recommend this. It clearly is not safe for all hair like they say it is. Luckily, they are giving me a refund for the product (but not shipping). I’m grateful for that. It’ll go towards fixing this at a hair salon. Has this happened to anyone? Will you buy Overtone?

Late October Haul 🎃
This month I decided to treat myself to a little haul! The above products were purchased from Sephora and Amazon. Some of these products I’ve had my eye on for months, while others I compulsively bought! On the second slide are all of the sample products that were kindly supplied by Sephora 🙂 Sephora: PAT McGRATH LABS - Eye Ecstasy Duo: I bough these pallets out of compulsion. I only own one pallet which is the URBAN DECAY - Naked Ultimate Basics Eyeshadow Palette. I really want to start incorporating makeup into my feed, so I went on the hunt for a new pallet. I was able to get both of these pallets for $14 each instead of $28 each. That’s a steal for me! I cannot wait to dip into the Sublime pallet! DRUNK ELEPHANT - E-Rase Milki Micellar Water: Getting back into makeup I knew I needed a makeup remover. Just about everyone I know uses Micellar Water no matter what brand. I decided to go with the Drunk Elephant because I have seen so many product reviews with mixed emotions, so I wanted to try this brand out for myself! Kate Somerville - EradiKate Acne Treatment: This is another product I’ve had my eye on for months! I have seen many reviews of this product and so far everyone has loved it. I can’t wait to give this product a shot tonight after a much needed shower! Review for this product to come very soon! Not pictured: SEPHORA COLLECTION - Makeup Match Highlight Brush Samples: LANCÔME - Bi-Facil Double-Action Eye Makeup Remover Dr Dennis Gross - Dr Dennis Gross Extra Strength Alpha Beta Peel Original belif - The True Cream Aqua Bomb IGK - First Class Charcoal Detox Dry Shampoo KVD VEGAN BEAUTY - Tatoo Liner in Trooper Deluxe Sample laura mercier - Flawless Lumière Radiance-Perfecting Foundation Milk MAKEUP - Hydro Grip Primer CAUDALIE - Vinopure Skin Perfecting Serum GUCCI - Free Bloom Eau de Parfum Deluxe Sample Amazon: StriVectin - Daily Reveal Exfoliating Pads: I saw that StriVectin just recent came out with these. I was quick to purchase these because I have been looking for a product that I can carry with me at all times and quickly use during the day when my face is super oily while I’m out and about! I was originally using the OXY - Acne Medication Deep Pore Cleansing Pads, but the ingredients aren’t great for the skin at all! So I am super hyped to find a much more healthier alternative! Rael - Miracle Ratch: I originally found these on Instagram. I have been on the market for acne patches for sometime. My local target didn’t have any in stock, so I took to the internet. When I found these I looked up reviews, and every single one was positive. I cannot wait to try these!

Save my dry and damaged hair🔥🔥
PRICE: $34 for 180ml I am super fans of Davines and have introduced many of products from this brand in my previous posts, including OI product line’s OI conditioner，Naturaltech product line’s calming shampoo，and mediterranean product line’s MOMO shampoo and NOUNOU hair mask. For today, OI shampoo is my focused product. When matching with OI conditioner, the effect is quite satisfying. 👍🏻Advantages: 1. Ingredients are relatively safe, without sulfate/SLS that is a harmful chemical foaming agent. All hair type can use this. DAVINES is an environmentally friendly brand, so even the packaging is made of degradable plastic. 2. The OI series is specially designed for bleaching and dyeing damaged hair. After washing them off, you scalp is very clean and the hair is soft and smooth. 3 Bubbles are abundant! I love IT！ 👎🏻Disadvantages: 1. I don’t like the smell. The fragrance is so strong sweet that it smells like I already have cavities. 2. Price is relatively high. This shampoo can promote the hair texture into smooth and soft, but not for hydrated condition. So I recommend your guys to mix with OI conditioner. The combination of these can create a surprising effect that your hair is fluffy but not dry! OI conditioner is more close to mask, leaving your hair on 3 to 5 minutes is perfect! davines - Oi Shampoo
How to Create a Textured Pixie Look
Creating texture, especially on short hair, can be tricky and downright frustrating if you don't know how to encourage texture properly. As someone who has naturally curly texture, it has been easy for me to create that desired piecey look. For those of you whose hair resists texture at all costs, I will go as much into detail as possible to help encourage texture within your hair. To get this look you need: KENRA PROFESSIONAL - Platinum Texturizing Taffy 13 ORIBE - Dry Texturizing Spray How to: Start with clean towel-dried hair and begin blow-drying your pixie from the crown to your front hairline in a forward motion. Don't use a brush to blow dry, just use your fingers to rake through your hair. If you can, blow dry your hair following its natural growth pattern (wherever your hair wants to lay naturally), this will give you the best results and prevent any resistance from any unruly areas. Once your hair is about 90% dry (still damp/cool to the touch), grab your Platinum Texturizing Taffy and add a fingernail size to your palm (just go by the size of your nail on your pointer finger). Rub your hands together to distribute and melt product; this will ensure even distribution onto your hair. Rake fingers through your hair in a forward and backward motion. Don't be afraid to make your hair super crazy to ensure you get the product all over (you should look like you just got electrocuted). After you are finished applying, brush your fingers through your hair following your natural growth pattern to tame the craziness and begin blow-drying until hair is 100% dry. To add the finishing touches, take your Dry Texturizing Spray and apply it to the roots through the midshaft of your hair. Do this in sections working your way back to your crown. Using your fingertips, shake, and massage hair at the roots to encourage volume. Tip: For extra texture or pieceyness, take a tiny bit of your Platinum Texturizing Taffy on your fingertips and work different sections into a point by pinching and sliding your fingers from midshafts to ends. (if this is confusing let me know and I will post a demonstration) Feel free to share your finished styles or comment with any questions!
I tried the “Curly Girl Method” and....
The Curly Girl Method isn’t new. My mom has been using this method for so long. I had never done it before because I have naturally curly hair and didn’t think it would make a difference...well.... I was wrong. My curls are dry and thick and nothing seems to make them bouncy and full except a good haircut with layers. But, you know, quarantine and all...so I haven’t had a haircut since February! This is my take on the curly girl method: 1. Start with wet hair! This is me about 10 minutes after I got out of the shower. 2. Use a curl defining cream or gel and scrunch it through your hair. Yep, from bottom to scalp. I used my current favorite Briogeo - Curl Charisma Rice Amino + Avocado Leave–In Defining Cream which smells great and is such a good amount for the price. 3. Grab an oversized t-shirt. The softer the better, but as long as it’s cotton. 4. Turn your head upside-down. Take the bottom two corners of the shirt and tie them around your forehead to your neck like a headband. 5. Grab your hair and “plop” or stuff your hair into the shirt while pulling up the rest of it. 6. Trap your hair in the shirt and wrap the sleeves up around your head like a headband again. 7. Tie the sleeves together in the front! 8. Leave it on for 20-60 minutes. My hair usually takes about 8-10 hours to fully air dry so I let mine sit for an hour. 9. Take your hair out of the shirt and let it air dry the rest of the way. If it gets too crunchy, re-wet it with water to further disperse the curl cream or gel. ...VOILA! My hair looks super voluminous and full. My curls are also really defined and beautiful, I also love how my strands aren’t clumped together so it looks lighter and thinner. I really love how it turned out. Have you used the curly girl method? What’s your favorite curl cream or gel to use with it? #CheriePartner

hairstyles for a chubby round face 😊
🌸 you can really see the difference in my comparison photos — i use my hair to cover my face and slim it down! 🌸 I’ve got no defined cheekbones, and my jawline is pretty wide — i got a round baby face! Its not always bad, but i have also got a wideee forehead that can make my head look a little big 🌸 my hair is naturally long and straight, and its not naturally blonde! i’ve got jet black hair that i get professionally done til it looks light 🌸 if you have a round face... use your hair to create shadows around your face by keeping it in front of your shoulders. A defined jawline can also be mimicked with a short haircut, as seen in the second photo. in the first and third photo, with no hair in front of my face, you can see how chubbi my face really is!

SIMPLE PM ROUTINE FOR LONG & FRIZZY HAIR
SWIPE LEFT TO SEE END RESULT🚨 SOOOOOO before I go to sleep, EVERY SINGLE NIGHT, I have to braid my hair. Over the years (four to be exact), I’ve just become accustomed to braiding it because it’s the easiest way to manage my hair texture. (I have flat hair, but it’s not bone straight if ya know what i mean.) So along with the refusal of damaging my hair with heat, I settled for braiding. It’s been forever since i used a straightener.... I love being simplistic. Hehe . So heres a 3-step routine for nightly hair care to keep hair untangled and frizz-free. I also chose NOW Sweet Almond Oil ( promotes softer texture/lightweight) because I just love natural/simple products. I love using holistic remedies as my #1. I did add in some Rose Geranium. Although essential oils aren’t considered holistic, they are still natural and extremely beneficial (promotes hair growth& natural perfume) Step 1: After washing hair , let hair air dry and comb it out with a wide tooth comb (don’t completely dry , leave damp) Step 2: After detangling , apply a generous amount of oil starting from the tips of hair, making your way up. Being mindful not to add to much oil Step 3: Detangle one more time, now braid WHAT’S YOUR HAIR ROUTINE/WHAT OIL DO YOU USE?

What to except from hair salons during SIP
We are officially SIX MONTHS into social distancing and sheltering in place. Here in LA things have somewhat eased up with al fresco dining becoming available, stores opening up, and more outdoor activities (like drive in concerts and such) becoming available. The beauty world has also opened up with nail salons and hair salons now accepting clients, all with precautionary measures. I have yet to go to a nail salon but I did desperately need a haircut! After debating whether or not I should attempt an at-home cut, I ultimately decided to leave it up to pros. So, what is a cut during corona virus like? No wash and blow dry This one bummed me out a bit because getting my hair washed is one of my favorite parts of hair cuts! But no washing minimizes time in contact with each customer. They still style your hair with hot tools, though! Hair cuts done outside Technically, indoor hair salons and barber shops are meant to be closed still, but many businesses have simply moved their operations out doors in order to accommodate guests and keep their doors open. Prices are the same I guess a part of me thought that maybe hair cuts would be a tad cheaper to make up for the not-as-pleasant experience of sitting out in a parking lot, and not getting a wash and blow dry. But the level of expertise is still there and in times like these, I’m willing to pay what every hair stylists deserves! You know the saying, if you can’t pay the tip (in this case the rate) you can’t afford to get it done!
How I tone my brassy hair at home 👀👀
As a natural brunette having blonde balayage comes with A LOT of upkeep. With COVID it is hard to make trips to the salon for just a toner, so this is my at home method/products! I try to do a toner product after every other wash. The before picture I believe I went 5 washes without using it so as you can see it got pretty brassy (5 washes = about 3 weeks). The two products I use to tone my hair are both treatment “masks” that need to be applied to wet hair and rinsed out after 10-15 minutes. I apply using a pair of latex gloves that I got from Sally’s Beauty Salon! (It will turn your hands purple if you don’t use gloves). I use: MATRIX - Total Results Brass Off Custom Neutralization Hair Mask which is the thicker texture on the left for reference. I also use this line’s shampoo every now and the (not every wash because it is extremely drying). This mask works pretty well as you can see. It has more of a blue tone to it so it combats the orange that comes out in brunette hair. Lightened brunette hair turns orange. Think color wheel. Blue is opposite of orange. The only downfall of this is that you have to use a ton of product to coat your hair. I wish the texture was easier to spread throughout! The next product is a product my hairdresser sold me and recommended for me. This was from a South Korean hair salon and the brand is korean as well (not sure about shipping to US). I looked for this product specifically on their website and couldn’t find it 😭😭😭 I guess I’ll have to stock up before I leave Korea. #Mielle Professional - Effector Silver[products]#[FiveStars] This stuff is professional level treatment (she even uses this on me when I am at the salon). It has a runny liquid consistency that spreads super easy in the hair. It is supposed to help brighten the hair and leave a cool-toned effect. I also really love the convenience of it having a pump so I can control the amount applied to sections of my hair. This product is extremely effective in toning my hair. Hopefully they will sell it online and ship to the US 🤞🏼🤞🏼 #cheriepartner
