CERAMIDES! What & why? ALL SKIN TYPES.
Ever heard of a healthy skin barrier? Are you using products with ingredients that help the skin barrier? Let me introduce to you, CERAMIDES. Ceramides occur naturally in the uppermost layers of our skin. They are lipids (fats) that help form our skin barrier and retain moisture. Ceramides also protect our skin from environmental aggressors. Why do we need them? As we age and our sun damage increases, we loose our natural ceramides. Not enough ceramides means a compromised skin barrier aka dry, itchy, and irritated skin. What do Ceramides in skincare do? They help rebuild and reinforce our skin barrier, increase hydration and decrease skin’s signs of sensitivity. Basically plumper, smoother, firmer, and less irritated skin! What skin type needs ceramides? ALL SKIN TYPES! Since Ceramides are natural and part of our skin, everyone can use products with Ceramides in them. Ingredients list! Most of the time it’s pretty obvious, products will say the word Ceramide, but they can also be identified as phytosphinogosine and sphingosine aka ingredients that get the skin into making ceramides. To sum it all up! Ceramides help keep our skim barrier in tip top shape! A good skin barrier means healthy skin! My favorite Ceramide products are listed below! Dr. Jart+ - Ceramidin Liquid

Luxury? Worth it or over spending? *Dry skin*
Is luxury skincare worth it or are we over paying for packaging and a brand name? Read about my luxury skincare collection below. As much as a skincare junkie (and hoarder?) I am, my luxury skincare collection is actually pretty small. Now what do I consider LUXURY? Brands like Tatcha, Tata Harper, La Mer, AmorePacifc, Dr. Barbara Sturm, Sunday Riley, DIOR..etc. Anything that is $50+ and not something you would necessarily need at such a high price point. Some of my Luxury products: seiso JBEAUTY - Fuwafuwa Foaming Cleanser This is great for my dry skin and when my skin barrier is in need of repairing. It’s a cleanser that gets the job done while leaving you with hydrated and glowing skin. This is priced at $38 and let’s be real.. that’s a bit steep for a cleanser, but the technology and ingredients + how long it has lasted me makes this worth the price. PURCHASE FOR SURE! Worth it ✨ seiso JBEAUTY - Ceramide Moisture Milk This is one of the most expensive serums I’ve ever owned. $95 and as much as it feels great and shows improvement of my skin.. it’s not a repurchase for me unless I have $100 to just drop for no reason. INSTEAD I’d recommend Krave - Great Barrier Relief Read more about SeisoJ Beauty in my ‘LUXURY FOR DRY SKIN - Ceramide skincare’ post. TATCHA - The Dewy Skin Cream Eh. This isn’t a moisturizer that I will reach for. IMO tatcha is a brand that you are paying for the hype and fancy packaging. There are many alternatives without robbing the bank to maintain plump and hydrated skin. $68 for a moisturizer is pretty steep for me. PASS. Find something else. It’s safe to say that all skincare is trial and error. If you are able to and willing to spend a good amount of money on a product then to each their own! Lower priced products are majority of the time no different, just not as luxurious packaging, but shows up for results for your skin. #cheriepartner #cheriecreator
LUXURY FOR DRY SKIN. Ceramide Skincare.
✰ 𝕕𝕣𝕪 𝕤𝕜𝕚𝕟 𝕤𝕒𝕧𝕚𝕠𝕣 ✰ seisojbeauty I never had a serious issue with dry skin until I moved to San Francisco. Spring time in the bay causes my eczema to flair up and my skin breaks out like crazy from being so dry! Seisojbeauty has the most luxurious and effective hydrating collection I’ve tried yet! Seiso has a special ceramide complex that is all natural, the Cerakari-20 complex. This complex helps replenish moisture, increase elasticity, restore the skin barrier, and of course give a gorgeous GLOW! The prices are on the high end side, but these products feel both in hand on the skin like true luxury. Using them is like my own personal spa experience. seiso JBEAUTY - Fuwafuwa Foaming Cleanser the most hydrating cleanser I’ve ever used. Normally foaming cleansers tend to strip the skin, but this is velvety smooth and so soft. My skin feels baby butt soft after using with no tightness. This is $38 and I would honestly purchase this on my own! seiso JBEAUTY - Pure Ceramide Concentrate feels really great on the skin. It is said to be the most effective ceramide on the market. I need to use this longer to see more results. This is $155 and that price is real scary lol, BUT this performs as well as it says it does, I will consider this being a Klarna or Afterpay purchase. seiso JBEAUTY - Ceramide Moisture Milk skin conditioner said to help plump and firm the skin. I love that it is more layered hydration for my skin, it really needs it currently. This is $95 and I am absolutely obsessed with this. I will be saving money and purchasing more when I’m out. seiso JBEAUTY - Water Velvet Cream a dream! This is like the belief aqua bomb, but better! This is the perfect last step to seal in my whole routine. It is a water based gel type of texture and is so silky smooth. Absorbs into the skin beautifully and adds a gorgeous glow. Wears great under makeup. $65 is way more than what I would typically pay for a moisturizer, but I really love this and the experience that I would spend the coin on it! The pricing is quite high, but let me tell you that these products have changed my skin so much. My dry skin is under control and my breakouts are so minimum! If you’re willing to spend the money on Tatcha, then I would definitely consider this brand. These products were gifted to me, but all thoughts are my own.
my three favorite serums 🧺
My skin type: combo, acne prone, sensitive, rosacea My skin concerns: acne, dark spots, dryness, hyperpigmentation, redness CAUDALIE - Vinopure Skin Perfecting Serum + perfect for oily skin types, this serum controls sebum production! + I use it whenever my acne is getting out of my hand (or maskne), and it usually cleans my pores out better than other similar serums. Best for me in the mornings, always followed by spf. + makes my pores appear less noticeable (you can’t really shrink them like the claims suggest but they do look “better”) + I love the glass bottle! Easily recyclable and feels luxe. + smells fresh and clean + ingredients: salicylic acid, grape seed, essential oils (important to note cause you could be allergic or sensitive) + $49, not great, but lasts me forever Dr. Jart+ - Ceramidin Liquid + marketed as a moisturizing toner, but is very thick to be a toner + I use in the am or pm, after tonight and before actives and my moisturizer. + smells a little funky, like herbal-ly but like tea? + moisturizes and hydrates very well, but takes a while to sink in. + repairs my moisture barrier pretty fast, the ceramides really work hard and fast. + makes my skin supple and bouncy + ingredients: ceramide complex, fig, cica, and phyto extracts + $39 for 5oz which is INSANE for how long this has lasted me (about a year with use every other day or so) AUGUST & LEO SKIN - CC Glow Serum + vitamin c serum by a brand owned by a Black woman! + not sticky, but I really was sure it would be. I am surprised every time I try it. It sinks in fast, too. + smells like those orange wedge candies! I thought the fragrance would be irritating but it’s not. + doesn’t pill, works well with my other products. + I use it in my PM routine only. + helps fade my dark spots faster than they would face on their own! + ingredients: vitc is made from 5% sodium ascorbyl phosphate, German chamomile and hyaluronic acid are also included. + $62 is maybe not worth it, but I have seen good results so far. #CheriePartner
Toner for Dry Winter Skin
Dr. Jart+ - Ceramidin Liquid This is the Dr. Jart Ceramidin Liquid. This toner claims to leave skin supple and moisturized and also preps the skin for the next steps. This toner works best with normal to dry skin. This is toner works to to relieve irritated, rough and flaky skin. This toner is definitely on the thicker side and it has the same smell as the ceramidin cream. I really love this toner for the winter months. I find that my skin is getting dehydrated a lot quicker and I need something at night that will help bring the moisture back. I have a ton of these mini toners and I want to use these all u before I commit to the full size. I like to use about 2-3 layers of this after I finish washing my face at night. I would recommend this product if you are looking for a nice thick toner for the wintertime and you love the Dr. Part Ceramidin cream. I think that this product is worth it, a little goes a long way and it is pretty effective. Definitely my go to toner this winter

FIRST POST/ONE WEEK RESULTS ✨
Hi there! I’m so excited to share my skincare journey with all of you and hopefully we can learn from each other’s experiences. I’ve already learned a lot from Cherie and that’s why I decided to purchase some products from The Ordinary and give them a try to save my skin. I have oily skin and as you can see I’m struggling with acne, dark spots, and dark circles. Not sure what type of acne I have, but it seems hormonal to me. I started to break out like this about two months ago. Before that, I’d break out once in a while during my period or when eating too much junk food. A week ago (Oct. 10th), I started the following skincare routine: AM - Cleanse Cetaphil - Cetaphil Gentle Foaming Cleanser - Treat The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG (I think I had a reaction to caffeine solution - my right eye started itching so I discontinued it from now) - Moisturize CeraVe - AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 PM - Remove makeup CeraVe - Makeup Removing Cleanser Cloths - Cleanse Cetaphil - Cetaphil Gentle Foaming Cleanser - Treat The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% - Moisturize CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin Please swipe to see the results so far! I’m really happy with The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% since it’s clearing out the acne. My face feels and looks better and I think there’s a small improvement. I’d love to hear your advice and suggestions! Also, I’d like to implement The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solutionand The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solutionto my skincare routine. Any suggestions on how/when to use them? Thank you in advance!
PRODUCTS I’VE BEEN USING FOR OVER 10 YEARS!
I have oily and sensitive skin, that has always been true for my skin even when I was a teen. Growing up i had stubborn acne that led to acne scars which then led to hyperpigmentation. While my acne has calmed down and I now only get the occasional hormonal breakouts but my hyperpigmentation is still here. There are a few products that my dermatologist had recommended to me as a teen that I love and use to this day even though my skin has changed. Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser - when I had sever acne as a teen my dermatologist prescribed me all types of cleaners for my skin to help reduce my breakouts. A bunch of the cleaners we tried had harsh chemicals and irritated and dried out my skin. Cetaphil gentle cleanser is a water based gel like cleanser that helps to wash away dirt and bacteria without those harsh chemicals that strip skin of moisture. CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin - this moisturizer is super lightweight and gentle. It is a white lotion that is hydrating but not greasy. Because my skin is so oily I didn’t want something that was going to add much more shine to my face but rather something that was going to keep my skin hydrated just enough so that my skin would over product oils as a result of a lack of moisture. DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel - the formula has changed a bit since I was a teen so I don’t think it is as effective now as it was back then. Before it was only available with a prescription and now you can buy it over the counter. It has a white gel like texture. This was a game changer for my acne. It really helped to reduce the appearance of my acne and dark spots. It is one of the only acne treatments that doesn’t irritate my skin. I try different skincare products from time to time but I always keep these 3 products stocked to fall back on when other products don’t work to plan. I would recommend these products to people with sensitive skin. #CheriePartner

Night Skin Care Routine for Oily Acne Prone Skin
Please note that this is what I often use for my nighttime skincareroutine. Come AM,I only use just an essence/ toner and sunblock after washing my face with a mild face wash. 🍓Cerave foaming facial cleanser (fragrance- free for normal to oily skin) - honestly wanted to try this trending cleaner and it didn’t disappoint. It is a clear gel that foams like the typical cream cleansers. So far, it works for me and i like it because it’s mild and non- stripping.CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin 🍓The Ordinary GlycolicAcid toning solution- I use this only twice a week and i love it because I can see the gunk on the cotton pad after each use. I use it on my UA too btw. :)The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution 🍓Muji Booster Essence Lotion- I use this or the Laneige Skin refiner (if the air is drier) because it preps my skin for it to absorb the serums and moisturizer better. It makes the skin moist, plump just overall healthy- looking.MUJI - Boosting Essence Lotion 🍓Pearlessence Argan and Vitamin E FacialOil - I just randomly got this from Marshalls because of the packaging lol. Pleasantly surprised because it’s a nourishing face oil with a relaxing scent to boot. I took a star away bec i find the oil is not that thin thus it takes a little bit more for my face to absorb itPEARLESSENCE - Argan Oil and Vitamin E Facial Oil 🍓Human Nature Sunflower oil Eye cream - I’ve always loved the oil and was glad to try this eyecream. Have yet to see the effect but eyebags weren’t really an issue to me. The fragrance- free bouncy cream absorbed easily on the under- eye and sometimes i use it as an over- all face moisturizer.#Human Nature - sunflower oil eye cream[products]#[FiveStars] 🍓Skin Potions Peach thy Lash eyelash and eyebrow grower - Consistenly used this for a month or two and I can say it is effective in lengthening and thickening my brows and lashes. It’s not oily like castor oil and has this gel- like consistency that is not stinging to the eyes.Skin Potions - Peach Thy Lash 🍓Laneige lip sleeping mask - this cult favorite has been a staple and it’s my ride or die lipbalm/ mask/ treatment. I used petroleum jelly or lip balm before but when I tried this, I DID NOT LOOK BACK SEZ. The tub may seem small but it will last a looong time even if used daily.LANEIGE - LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask I find that these products work for my oily acne prone skin lately but always remember that consistency is 🔑☺️
HELP! I need a new skincare routine!
(Excuse my eyebrows I need to get them threaded) LOL So I’ve always struggled with acne, and I’m 18 and it’s still going on. I started birth control to help with my periods and acne about a little over 2 years ago now, and it has dramatically decreased my acne and helped so much with my flow and cramps. I just want to feel more confident because I rarely wear any makeup (foundation) on my face, and when I do I just want it to look smooth and not bumpy. I would really appreciate if anyone could recommend any products they use or have used. My skin is mainly oily, but it can be combination sometimes and sensitive when it wants to. Also, I don’t want to spend a lot of money on products. And what are y’all’s opinions/reviews on The Ordinary? Please help me! 🙏🏼 My morning routine consists of: -Clean&Clear - Morning Burst Oil-Free Gentle Daily Face Wash -DICKINSON'S - Original Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner -FORMULA 10.0.6 - Seriously Shine Free Mattifying Oil Free Moisturizer My nighttime routine consists of: -GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Mattifying -CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin -Clean&Clear - Share NIGHT RELAXIN Deep Cleaning Face Wash -DICKINSON'S - Original Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner -Beauty 360° - Vitamin E Moisturizing Oil -GARNIER - SkinActive Soothing Facial Mist with Rose Water -FORMULA 10.0.6 - Seriously Shine Free Mattifying Oil Free Moisturizer (I do use masks sometimes just like everybody else after I double cleanse at nighttime).

Nighttime routine for combination skin ✨
Hi! I’ve been using every product reviewed for at least 3 weeks & my main concerns are fine lines, blemishes and post acne hyperpigmentation! Let me know your thoughts & recommendations 💕 Cleanser: I start with the BANILA CO - Clean It Zero 3-in-1 Cleansing Balm the 1st balm cleanser I’ve used & so far so good! This removes waterproof mascara to varying degrees of success but all other makeup gets blitzed with this. There is no real fragrance & I’ve not found it drying! Then I use the CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser which I’ve reviewed in my morning skincare routine post Exfoliator: 2-3 times a week I use the Neutrogena - Bright Boost Resurfacing Micro Polish which is the only AHA product in my routine. It has a physical exfoliant texture so I v gently massage it into wet skin and leave it for about a minute. I don’t experience any redness or tingling & my skin does feel very smooth after. I don’t use my retinol on nights I use this! Toner: On a damp face I use the LANEIGE - Cream Skin Toner & Moisturizer which I’ve reviewed in my morning skincare routine post Serums: Then I use The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 followed by The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% which I’ve reviewed in my morning skincare routine post Moisturiser: I’ve been obsessed with CeraVe - SA Smoothing Cream ever since I got it. It has Urea (great for eczema) & salicylic acid so it’s very hydrating whilst also working against acne. I use this for my bikini line & any back acne I get (full review on my page) When I use the brightening polish I switch out the above for sukin - Facial Moisturiser 125ml so I’m not combining BHA’s & AHA’s. This is a solid, basic moisturiser that hasn’t broken me out & sinks in quickly. It’s rich in jojoba & avocado oil so I tend to skip face oils when I use this! Retinol: after using the neutrogena SA retinol for 6 months & seeing no results I switched to indeed LABORATORIES - Retinol Reface : Skin Resurfacer & Wrinkle Repair I’ve had no irritation & love the light texture. My skin has been feeling plumper & not dry at all. I’ve been using it 4 times a week while my skin adjusts to the higher %! I go over the bad hyperpigmentation with PALMER'S - Skin Success Anti Dark Spot Cream (I have the pump version to avoid air contact & contamination). This product WORKS. It has retinol & liquorice root extract but also seems to contain glitter? Bizarre. Then Neutrogena - Rapid Wrinkle Repair Eye Cream as I like a gentler formulation of retinol for the more delicate skin. This sinks in fast, doesn’t irritate & my dark circles have also decreased since using! Oil: finallyKiehl's - Midnight Recovery Concentrate an oldie but goldie. A great seal & smells 🔥🔥
FINALLY! An acne wash that didn’t dry me out💙
Boy oh boy do I love this cleanser! This is theCeraVe - Acne Foaming Cream Cleanser with 4% Benzoyl Peroxide. It claims to clear pimples and blackheads, prevent new acne from forming and allow skin to heal. It also claims to maintain the skin barrier. It contains hyaluronic acid, three ceramides and niacinamide. I was a bit hesitant about the niacinamide as I had a bad reaction to The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% (see previous post). I’ve struggled with bad cystic acne for years. My acne is so bad that I am getting on Accutane next month. I have VERY dry skin that is prone to peeling, dry patches, etc. Over the years I have tried plenty of “acne fighting” cleansers, both high end and drugstore. All of them have dried me me out beyond belief, resulting in horrible irritation. Finally, I decided I would rather have acne than the irritation and unsightly dry patches. I began using the CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser and have been for years. I adore it! However, when I seen the CeraVe - Acne Foaming Cream Cleanser in store, I decided to take a chance with it since I’ve had amazing luck with all cerave products. I picked mine up at Target for $11.99 for 5 fl oz. The directions indicate you can use this twice a day, but I only use it at night. I think twice a day would be overkill, especially for those of us with dry and/or sensitive skin. Once I began using this, I was shocked to find that it didn’t over-strip my skin and didn’t dry me out. It was a miracle. I’ve been using this product daily for over a month and it still hasn’t dried me out, even as the weather has gotten colder. This does contain hyaluronic acid and ceramides, which definitely help with retaining the moisture barrier. Just for safe measures, I make sure to always use very moisturizing products on top of this, just to make sure my skin stays hydrated. One thing I can say about this cleanser that’s slightly annoying is that it doesn’t do a great job at getting stubborn makeup off. Therefore, I wouldn’t recommend relying solely on this to get off makeup, sunscreen, etc. This also shouldn’t be used around the eyes(trust me, it burns) so you can’t use it for mascara and such. This isn’t a big deal to me as I double cleanse. If you need a more “heavy duty” cleanser at night, you could always use this in the morning instead or just go in with a heavier cleanser before using this. Now on to the most important part; did this work for my acne? So, I can’t say this was a miracle worker. It didn’t completely clear up my skin. I honestly don’t think anything would and that’s why I’m going on Accutane. BUT, this definitely helped clear up some of my pimples and make them go away faster. Also, I haven’t been breaking out as much as usual, so this is definitely helping. I would definitely recommend this for all skin types, even dry skin! Hallelujah! Moisturizing + Acne Fighting =Winning 🎉

My skin is so much better!!!
My skin has improved so much but unfortunately. I made the mistake of popping my pimples when I was young. which as lead me to acne scars. It been one of my biggest regret doing. So please if your reading this DO NOT pop your pimple!!!! If you click on this looking for help. I honestly don’t know what help with my acne. At first I try using benzoyl peroxide but it was extremely drying to my skin. So I stop using it. The following week I went to go pick upCeraVe - SA Smoothing Cleanser I use it for I think two months. Which I think has help my skin a lot. You have any tips. I will gladly accept them. Face routine: I wash my hand first. Then use warm water to rinse my face. Then use CeraVe - SA Smoothing Cleanser or CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin Then use the CeraVe - Ultra-Light Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 For Normal To Oily Skin That it not much. Also if you know any sunscreen for oily skin. The the sunscreen I have now is good but it feel like it. Make my skin more oily. I don’t know if that normal.
My Simplified AM Routine 🌞
How much ever complex the skincare routines are changing everyday i like to keep it simple, manageable ( so I don’t feel lazy enough to skip it ) & also most importantly keep my skin breathable.😊 Not just bombard my skin with complex ingredients. Breaking my routine which is just CTM with a serum in it !! For cleansing i like to mix between the neutrogena cleanser( which i have already reviewed on my feed ) with LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Purifying Foaming Cream Cleanser because I don’t like to make my skin accustomed to a single product cos it results in no results at all over a period of time. Talking about this cleanser , its mild, foaming , no fragrance & works fine on my skin!!! For toning i use Neutrogena - Acne Stress Control Triple-Action Toner does what it claims to do. I have no active acne. All thanks to this It’s my 2nd bottle & i absolutely love love love this serum. It goes perfectly with what my skin needs. Vitamin C makes it look brighter & also my pores don’t feel congested at all !!!!! eva naturals - Vitamin C Plus Skin Clearing Serum last step on my routine moisturizing & sunscreen from cerave ! Do i need to talk about this??? I think enough has already been told by a lot of people . CeraVe - Ultra-Light Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 For Normal To Oily Skin Don’t over do your routine, just keep it simple so you won’t skip !!! Stick to products that work for you. & also try to keep changing your products so that your skin doesn’t grow accustomed to it & you keep getting results ✨ 💋
A Simple Morning Routine with a View 🏙
Since moving to Honolulu, the name of the game has been hydration! Despite what you would think about tropical climates, it’s not unusual for hot and humid weather to dry you out with UV rays and dehydration. So I’ve really whittled down my morning routine to 3 steps (and a coffee, of course!) CLEANSE: MARIO BADESCU - Enzyme Cleansing Gel I’ve been using this cleanser every morning for the last month and I saw results after the first wash! It’s a super gentle non-foaming cleanser claims to gently buff away oil and impurities while papaya and grapefruit extracts brighten. My skin actually glows after cleansing with this! It’s sulfate, pthalate and paraben free, making it the perfect morning cleanser for my dry sensitive babes! Highly recommend this as a staple on your shelf. TONE: fresh - Rose Deep Hydration Toner I just bought this toner, but I am loving it so far! Most toners leave my skin feeling tight and itchy and this does none of that! It’s gentle and my skin feels nice and soft and smooth when I use it, plus it smells amazing! Rose is one of the few scents that doesn’t irritate my allergies, so I’m definitely going to make it a regular. HYDRATE: Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer This moisturizer has lived on my shelf since I was 16 years old and I don’t plan on getting rid of it any time soon. Though I admit it falls by the wayside sometimes, it’s tried-and-true for me and when i need a reset I always go back to it. It’s so lightweight and soothing, the product sinks right into my skin with zero residue and leaves behind a smooth, soft surface. It’s perfect when my face is feeling just a little dry and needs a mid day refresh. I usually have to put a layer on, wait 5 min, and apply a second time to my cheeks because the formula is so lightweight and I need just a little more hydration. But for only $15 it’s well worth it!

A healthy skin barrier can solve your problems🌱
A healthy skin barrier can solve your skin problems! 🌱 𝗪𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐧 𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐫? It is the outermost layer of the epidermis - stratum corneum - which functions as both a chemical and physical shield against pollutants, bacteria, irritants, etc.. A healthy skin barrier can slow down aging and even help acne heal quicker while lessening its severity. When the barrier is intact, your skin appears plump, and smooth, but when it’s compromised, skin becomes dehydrated, dull, and more prone to sun damage and irritation. Sensitivity to products, tendency to break out, acne and chronic dry skin are all signs of a weakened skin barrier. Your barrier’s health has a direct impact on how your skin looks, feels, and how it ages! 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐞𝐰 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐡𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠: 1. Over-cleansing 2. Over-exfoliating 3. Washing your face using hot water 4. Using alcohol-based toner and fragrance-containing products 5. Unprotected exposure to sun’s UV rays 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐝𝐨: ~ Hydrate continuously! A damaged epidermis requires moisture, so keeping your face and body well hydrated is critical in the fight to restore your barrier. Moisture-binding humectants such as glycerin, sorbitol, and hyaluronic acid are my favorites. ~ 𝐔𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐜𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬! An occlusive ingredient provides a protective seal over the surface of the skin and is critical to prevent loss of hydration. When choosing a face moisturizer, I always look for Dimethicone. If you have dry skin, choose a moisturizer with shea butter. For extra dry skin in the body, petrolatum will be your best friend. If you want something lighter than petrolatum, go for silicone based lotions. 𝐌𝐲 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬: dimethicone, glycerin, ceramides, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, panthenol, oat and aloe extract. 𝐍𝐞𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐚 𝐇𝐲𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐆𝐞𝐥 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 - dimethicone based. Basic, lightweight, but does a great job. 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐠𝐞𝐥 - my top recommendation for oily and sensitive skin. Wonderful for people with rosacea. Calms, hydrates, and protects skin with dimethicone, aloe extract and licorice root. 𝐃𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐧: 𝐄𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐒𝐨𝐨𝐧 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 - has panthenol and shea butter. Pretty no-nonsense. Although it has shea butter, I find this actually lightweight enough for oily skin. 𝐋𝐚 𝐑𝐨𝐜𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐚𝐲 𝐂𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐁𝐚𝐮𝐦𝐞 - multi-purpose soothing balm for dry skin irritations. Has glycerin, shea butter, panthenol. 𝐃𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐤 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐩𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐢 - Glycerin based and combines signal peptides and amino acids. Has a long ingredients list, but overall still worked well with me. 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐱 𝐔𝐥𝐭𝐫𝐚 𝐌𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 - contains Riceramide®-3 blend of plant-based ceramides, natural essential fatty acids and cholesterol, combined with soothing emollients and hyaluronic acid to help relieve chronically dry skin. ❣️𝐏𝐲𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐤𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐘𝐮𝐥 is a fragrance-free brand and uses a variety of root extracts and gentle ingredients to promote barrier restoration. I highly recommend the brand too! SENSITIVE SKINCARE REVIEW DRUGSTORE EDITION.
Hey Lovelies ! I hope ur doing well. Today’s blog is about skincare , but specifically for sensitive skin like mine. Something happened to my skin , I had eczema on my face it was really bad , so sadly I had to give away 600$ worth of skincare and I’ve discovered Avène. Avène have changed my skin completely honestly , Lots of researches but 100% worth it I promise. First let’s talk cleansing. The Cleansing milk is amazing , The texture is perfect to remove ur makeup while cleaning it. And makes ur skin smooth like a baby. The toner. The toner is great and gentle , Removes the impurities and it doesn’t burn cause it has rice water. The Serum is from Aveeno. Honestly I like it to give a glow , but it’s okay it can burn a little so I recommend to let the toner dry first. But overall it’s a good serum. The moisturizer , OMG THE BEST!!! Avène-Gentle Toning Lotion
Kiehl’s Calendula Deep Cleansing Foam Facial Wash I don’t like splurging on a face wash because I think anything can do the job of cleansing your face. But since I have sensitive skin, I have to consider that I should get something that won’t cause any inflammation or redness on my skin, but still cleans it. I also have a dry combination skin type so the cleanser has to take off my makeup and all the grime but it can’t dehydrate my skin at the same time. I know, it’s pretty complicated but I find it therapeutic to look through skin care products and experiment with various brands. I have been using Kiehl’s for quite some time now. I discovered the brand and all its amazing products in our local Kiehl’s shop. I love this Calendula line cause all the products in it are so calming and gentle on sensitive skin, plus they’re hydrating as well. This face wash does the job of cleaning my face (after a good micellar water) and one pump is enough to foam my whole face. I guess it’s moderately pricey for a facial wash but not extremely expensive, so it’s all good. I like to use it day and night as a second cleanse, then I’ll move on to a toner if I was wearing heavy makeup (which is rare), essence, serum, rich moisturizer, eye cream, and sunscreen if it’s daytime. This routine, and specifically this face wash, works so well for my skin. I recommend it to someone who’s looking for a gentle facial wash that foams and doesn’t strip off the face with natural oils. Kiehl’s Calendula Herbal Extract Toner This is one of my holy grail products. It’s so gentle and hydrating on my skin. I’ve been using this product for at least 3 years now, and never did it disappoint me even once. I have a sensitive dry combination skin, so I need products that are hydrating and gentle at the same time. Kiehl’s Calendula range is one of my favourite lines.
“Renewing” Night Creams
Because I have sensitive skin, I like to keep my routines simple with multi-tasking products. Although these creams do fundamentally different things, the name is not where the similarity ends. These are both all-in-one, fragrance-free night creams formulated to be gentle on sensitive skin. 💜CeraVe - Skin Renewing Night Cream This night cream contains niacinimide, peptides, shea butter, and, of course, ceramides. It also has allantoin, glycerin, and cholesterol to help hydrate and plump skin. I think the restorative benefits of this cream are more gradual than what the box implies (“wake up to refreshed and renewed skin”), but I challenge anyone to find a more loaded cream at this price point ($15). It’s thick, but not greasy, and I haven’t found it to clog my pores. I just dot it around my face massage it in with a little jojoba oil. 🖤MAELOVE - Night Renewer I have to say I have never seen a more dramatic overnight effect from a chemical exfoliant before. This cream has 10% glycolic acid, along with shea butter and aloe, and is formulate for sensitive skin. While this does sting, I see minimal redness/irritation after applying this cream. I just rub it in after cleansing along with some jojoba oil for extra moisture. Although this is safe for nightly use, I use it every other to every two nights.
Best moisturizer for sensitive skin
The cerave pm moisturizer is marketed as a lightweight moisturizer for all skin types and contains hyaluronic acid, ceramides, and niacinamide to moisturize skin. It targets people with a damaged skin barrier. It has a lightweight gel-cream texture. Overall, it has an amazing texture and is very lightweight and gentle. I decided to try it after needing a new moisturizer and this one has a great price. I love it for my sensitive skin because it is fragrance free and keeps my skin hydrated all day without making me breakout or get flaky skin. I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for lightweight hydration without clogging pores. This product is definitely worth it because it extremely cheap and effective. Definitely worth trying if you have sensitive skin and need a cheap, non irritating, and effective moisturizer. CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion
