MY GO TO SUMMER SPF. HOW I REAPPLY SPF!
honeybri
YES, you need to reapply sunscreen for it to continue to protect you all day.
I have finally found my favorite rotation of sunscreens based on my needs, style, and skin type.
I have DRY + BREAKOUT prone skin. I struggle with some eczema and my skin can be pretty reactive and sensitive! DARK SPOTS are always a big concern of mine, so wearing sunscreen everyday is a must for me.
My style tends to switch back and forth from full coverage foundation glam to just concealer, blush and mascara. With makeup it is hard to reapply sunscreen, but there are many facial mist SPF made just for going over makeup. This is a must for reapplying SPF and it’s extremely easy and manageable.

Update
Post acne scarring🥴
Ultimately, “less is more” is why my skin isn’t breaking out daily. No more painful, cystic acne.
I got my skin adjusted to the bare minimum.👍🏼
I slowly introduce new products.
No acids (Salicylic, Lactic, etc…), no exfoliating, no topicals.
This stage of my skin journey is to allow my skin to heal & do what it’s supposed to do without disrupting the healing process. I still provide my skin with the necessary ingredients needed to assist with barrier repair & a healthy biome.
Ceramides, Probiotics, Hyaluronic Acid, Colloidal Oatmeal, Niacinamide, Green Tea.
* If anybody could recommend any more barrier repair products &/or ingredients i’m all 👂🏼

🏕Survival Essentials🛶
So if you’re like me and you enjoy chopping your own firewood, sleeping in a hammock, and starting fires with a flint and steel, you know how much being strategic about what you bring camping is important. Even if you’re not concerned about the exact weight of your camping or hiking pack, you probably have times you head into the great outdoors and want to keep your products to a minimum. Instead of glamping, where I bring a toiletries bag with me, this is what I carry in my pack no matter where I’m headed.
cleen beauty - Mineral SPF 30 Face Moisturizer
I’ve reviewed this in full before, but I love the size, price, and simple effectiveness of this moisturizer. It soaks in fast, and I can use it more than once in a day without clogging my face. Trust me, in nature you’ll have bug spray, fire smoke, and dirt to do that job for you. It’s cheap ($10) so if it’s lost or it hurt in a hatchet accident, I don’t mind!
SheaMoisture - 100% Virgin Coconut Oil Daily Hydration Facial Wipes
When I’m truly deep in the woods with just a tent and some gear, I can’t dedicate my water supply to my full cleansing routine. I also need a product that can help wipe off dirt and grime more heftily than a cleanser. I use these wipes on my face to keep my face clean and hydrated as well as on my arms and legs when I go through mud or don’t want to track dirt into my tent. These are reliable and easy to carry with me as an alternative to other wipes, though any kind of face wipe or even baby wipe is a must have for camping enthusiasts.

Smear those minerals on and defeat the sun
Like many people, I live where there’s a lot of heat in summer so I needed a light moisturizer with SPF. I used to skimp on SPF so I could get tan, but after realizing that no matter how many hours I spend in the sun, I still look pale like a 2000 year old vampire, I started putting on SPF like a smart person because sun protection keeps me from looking like a 2000 year old vampire.
There’s two things I’ve always hated about sunscreen, the consistency and the smell. When I’d smear SPF on my face (even face-specific sunscreen), I’d get vivid flashbacks to crowded public pools, blaring sun, cheap pool hot dogs, and feeling self-conscious about my body in a swimsuit. Not too fun.
Enter cleen beauty - Mineral SPF 30 Face Moisturizer
Which soaks in quickly, doesn’t smell, and leaves your face feeling hydrated and protected.
Inescapable as the rays of sun, the grit of sunscreen is present in a very minor and not annoying way. Once it soaks in, it feels light.
I use this throughout the day as a pick me up. It reapplies over makeup nicely so I actually hike with it and slather it on as the hours pass. It also feels very nice on the neck as well. It’s very light so you can layer a few times before it starts to feel heavy.
Face SPFs tend to break me out because their consistency is like Chap Stick, but layers upon layers of this throughout the day don’t bother my skin at all. I have dry skin and my husband has oily skin and we both love it. I recommend this even as a pick me up moisturizer if not your morning SPF. It’s super cheap and a little goes a long way.

Sunscreen PT2 : proper application
For me this year has been a year of bare faced and skincare focused. It is rare for me to put on a full face of make up nowadays; I mean I’m not going anywhere other the grocery stores in my pjs so... I have no reason to get dolled up.
So now more than ever I been focusing on sun protection— the last and most forgotten step of the the skin care routine.
According to the American Academy of Dermalogy theses are some best practices to properly apply sunscreen:
✅Use a sunscreen that has an SPF of 30 or higher, water resistant, and provides broad-spectrum coverage, which means it protects you from UVA and UVB rays.
✅Apply sunscreen 15 minutes before going outdoors. This is approximately the time it takes for your skin to absorb the sunscreen and protect you.
✅Apply enough sunscreen. Most adults need about 1 ounce to fully cover their bod; approximately 1 shot glass.
Apply sunscreen to all skin not covered by clothing—Remember your neck, face, ears, tops of your feet and legs. For hard‐to‐reach areas ask for help or use aerosol/ spray sunscreen. For thinning hair, apply sunscreen to your scalp or wear a hat. To protect your lips, apply a lip balm with a SPF of at least 15.
✅Reapply every two hours, or immediately after swimming or sweating. For make up wearer use a make up setting/ refreshing pray like COOLA - COOLA Makeup Setting Spray Organic Sunscreen SPF 30

Product Empty!!!!
If you are like me and totally suck at reapplying SPF throughout the day due to makeup, I have a great product to recommend.
This spray SPF 50 is perfect because you. An mist as much or as little as you need. Make sure to keep a powder sponge nearby because it does to spray blotchy at time.
Overall this is an great product for spray SPF. I have combination, acne-probe skin and this did not cause any breakouts or irritation.
This is a definite repurchase.

Umbra Tinte SPF 30
What is it? Umbra Tinte is a tinted physical sunscreen with UVA/UVB protection to help prevent free radical damage and oxidative damage!
Targeted to those with normal, dry, combo and oily skin.
We all know the importance of SPF. A physical sunscreen creates a barrier between your skin and the sun to reflect the UV rays, while a chemical sunscreen is absorbed into the skin and absorbs the UV rays converting them to heat and basically prevents you from getting burned. Imo physical sunscreens are all around better for you but this is just one sunscreen I’ve tested.
Umbra Tinte has 20% zinc oxide, algae extract, and sunflower extract as main ingredients.
My experience: I had high hopes for Umbra Tinte because i love most DE products. This sunscreen is gritty, Stings my eyes, and makes my face itchy. Physical sunscreens aren’t the easiest to use and I know that but I’ve tried several others (because my mom and I both work at dermatologists offices ) and I haven’t had this experience with any others. I will say it isn’t extremely hard to wash off and doesn’t have much of a white cast which i appreciate since i get very dark in the summer. It gives my skin an extra oily feel too. I never experienced a breakout with this sunscreen so that’s also a plus. I just could not deal with wearing this. The smallest amount of sweat would make it fall off into my eyes which caused a lot of stinging. I ended up just using on my arms and chest which I think it worked a lot better and was easy to spread. It retails At 36 USD which is a decent price for a physical sunscreen but i would not repurchase this due to the experiences I had and it wouldn’t be my first sunscreen recommendation. Battle of the Hyped Sunscreens
My skin type is combo oily that can lean more dry during the weather changes or just randomly. My skin concerns are acne, oiliness throughout the day and also dehydration. I’ve ranked these popular hyped sunscreens based on how they worked for me personally (going from favorite to least favorite). My favorite is Unseen because it’s a primer and sunscreen in one, is lightweight and I haven’t had an issue with pilling. I prefer SPF 40 or higher.
.
Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40
Key Ingredients: Complex Derived from Meadowfoam Seed (increases hydration levels), and Red Algae (helps protect against blue light emitted by electronic devices).
Texture/Consistency: Gel
Scent: None
Price: $34 for 1.7 oz / 50 mL
Experience: Is designed to be used as a primer, makes it quicker to get ready. It feels so lightweight, I can’t even tell that I’m wearing it throughout the day, doesn’t pill or make me oily.
Repurchase/Recommend?: Yes, I definitely am going to purchase the full size of this! It simplifies my routine and lightweight.
.
Supergoop! - Play Everyday Lotion 50 Default Title
Key Ingredients: Sunflower Extract (protects your skin from external environmental elements) and Rosemary Leaf Extract (has a calming effect on the skin and is rich in antioxidants).
Texture/Consistency: Lotion
Scent: None
Price: $32 for 5.5 oz / 162 mL OR $58 for 18 oz / 532 mL
Experience: It was too heavy on top of a moisturizer and made me look greasy, but applied by itself it was lovely (have a glow, but wasn’t too heavy). It also doesn’t pill when I put my makeup on.
Repurchase/Recommend?: Yes, it would be more for people with dry skin, but it’s moisturizing enough to act as my moisturizer too so I apply it by itself (or on top of serum).
.
FIRST AID BEAUTY - Weightless Liquid Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30
Key Ingredients: Zinc Oxide (physical sunscreen that helps filter harmful UV rays) and Alteromonas Ferment Filtrate and Vitamin E (both help protect against environmental aggressors).
Scent: None
Texture/Consistency: Liquidy
Price: $34 for 1.5 oz / 44 mL
Experience: I love that this is tinted, it doesn’t leave a white cast at all! It is lightweight, easily sinks in, and doesn’t make me oily throughout the day. It also doesn’t pill at all, so easy to put makeup on after.
Repurchase/Recommend?: Maybe, I just wish it was a higher SPF.
.
DRUNK ELEPHANT - Umbra Tinte Physical Daily Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30
Key Ingredients: Zinc Oxide (physical sunscreen that protects from harmful rays) and Algae Extract and Sunflower Sprout Extract (both protect against free radical damage).
Scent: None
Texture/Consistency: Lightweight Cream
Price: $36 for 2 oz / 60 mL
Experience: It feels heavy and doesn’t sink in all the way, plus pilled and made my CC Cream look cakey and terrible.
Repurchase/Recommend?: No, it pilled badly and doesn’t work well with makeup on me.

Supergoop unseen sunscreen for combo skin!
I have combo skin . And I am always hunt for those fresh products . You know , as for sunscreen, especially broad spectrum sunscreen, it’s not easy. Some greasy ingredients is troublesome 🤭
But this bad boy from supergoop make me satisfied. It has a watery texture to refresh my skin. Never cause any breakouts or leave white cast, supergoop unseen sunscreen is really friendly to combo skin.
It protects me from winter Uv rays all day. My skin enjoys this comfortable experience when I wear it to go out. I will repurchase this one !

My Favorite Sunscreen ☀️
I have combination skin that is sensitive and acne-prone. I’m also someone who doesn’t like anything with a sticky feeling on my face!
🌱This is the Centella Green Level Unscented Sunscreen and it is gorgeous.
✨First of all, it passes the Not Sticky test and doesn’t leave a white cast at all. It’s basically another hydrating moisturizer for your face in the way it applies and interacts with the skin. For this reason, reapplying doesn’t feel gross or heavy and this is one of the few sunscreens I actually enjoy reapplying throughout the day which is so important!
✨This has Hyaluronic Acid in it as well as Centella to enhance the skin barrier which provides protection from ultraviolet rays and any external stressors. It also avoids things like fragrance and essential oils so it is good for sensitive skin.
✨This is $16 for 2 oz which in my opinion is great for what you’re getting.

SUN DAMAGE?! Nah... we don’t know her (anymore).
S U P E R G O O P Unseen Sunscreen 💫
SIDE NOTE: I use to be terrible with applying sunscreen and literally never wore any as a teen... Aka I probs had sun poisoning multiple times lol. BUT, my point is, I regret it so much and want to stress how important it is to apply sunscreen! I’m definitely still not perfect with this, but I try my best. ☺️
• this sunscreen is marketed as a daily primer/ SPF sunscreen.
• it’s safe for normal, dry, combo, and oily skin types.
• it’s targeted towards protecting the skin from sun exposure while providing a weightless, scentless, daily priming, and completely invisible application!
• the texture is honesty like no other! it’s kind of gel-like but thicker.
HONESTY:
•I absolutely love this sunscreen! It applies so comfortably and works well alone or under makeup! It feels great on the skin and isn’t too greasy or drying!
•This sunscreen didn’t break me out or make my skin irritated at all! I am usually super sensitive to sunscreen and this one is definitely one I will keep using! I also love how it’s not visible, it literally just looks like you put on moisturizer!
•I would definitely recommend this sunscreen! It’s a great clean option and a little goes a long way! One mini sized tube lasted me weeks!!!
•It’s $32 for a full size of this sunscreen but I feel like it’s worth it in my opinion. It’s clean at Sephora, vegan, cruelty-free, and gluten-free (which are all really important to me).
RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I’m giving this sunscreen 5 out of 5 stars! It’s a great fit for my skin and I love every aspect of it! I will be repurchasing for sure! 🤩 Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40

Face Sunscreen that Hydrates & Protects! ☀️
Disclaimer: Two studies have shown that this Purito sunscreen only contains 19 SPF. They have stopped selling them and are offering refunds to those that have bought the product in the past 6 months. I no longer use or recommend this product. Check out Krave - The Beet Shield if you are looking for an alternative!
It can be hard finding the right face sunscreen. There are SO many out there! Well let me tell you about PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+
What is it?
- A water-based sunscreen formulated with Centella extracts that help protect your skin from UV rays and harmful environments without stickiness or white residue left on the skin. It does not contain any essential oils or artificial fragrance, making it suitable for sensitive skin types. It uses SPF50+ PA++++ and photo-stable UV filter to provide soft yet powerful protection from ultraviolet rays.
Is it safe for sensitive skin?
- Purito excludes all the components of most common chemical UV screens that aggravate acne and irritate sensitive skin, such as Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, 2-methylbenzylidene camphor, Oxybenzone, and Abobenzone. Instead, they exclusively use EWG Green Level Grades 1 and 2 ingredients, making sure the product is suitable for all skin types.
How does it work?
- Unlike other sunscreens that form a physical layer to ensure UV protection, this product is absorbed into the skin where it transforms UV rays into harmless heat, so you don’t feel it on your face. Moreover, with its 70% moisture base and 4 different types of essences, it works like a moisturizing cream, making it even easier to apply natural makeup.
What’s in it?
- This product contains Hyaluronic acid that helps retain over 1,000 times its weight in water within the skin cells, as well as Centella asiatica extract that restores the oil/moisture balance of the skin and helps the formation of collagen which gives the skin its elasticity. In other words, it has all the necessary ingredients to keep your skin healthy and well moisturized.
My review-
- I purchased this product after seeing Skincare by Hyram and Whatsonvisface recommend it! I had been using Rodan and Field’s Soothe Sunscreen, but wanted something that did not sit on the skin, yet still provided hydration. I am treating my acne with clindamycin and tretinoin so I needed a sunscreen that hydrates and soothes my skin, while not clogging my pores. This sunscreen does exactly that! It rubs onto my skin so easily. It’s the perfect consistency, not too thin but not too thick. It provides hydration and protection, without being sticky or sitting on the skin. The lack of essential oils/fragrances, plus the addition of centella, means it’s non-irritating. It also contains niacinamide, which is perfect for acne-prone skin! Since I have dry skin, I use it in addition to my moisturizer, but I think if you have oily skin you could just use the sunscreen since it’s so hydrating!
