Skin update #4 :)
Hey guys!! So this is my latest skin update since about 4 months ago, and omg I’m loving how much my skin has been healing!! Ever since my last post I got rid of that horrible skin care routine that was getting me nowhere and started using the Instagram famous product AVERR AGLOW! I was really iffy trying this product because of the fact of the price, and that it was from Instagram and people will say anything to get money, but many other women that had the same issues I had all have said this product changed their skin and got it back to normal! So I thought why not it’s worth a shot my skin is gonna get worse before it gets better. So I got the clear skin kit which involves the Averr aglow hydration dew, AVERR Aglow - #2 Radiant Cleansing Nectar AVERR Aglow - #3 Clear Skin Elixirand the Averr Aglow nourishment cream. The first month my skin was breaking out even more, but I did some research, and my skin was doing something called purging which is what it is supposed to do where everything nasty under the surface comes to the top. So my skin has done nothing but improve from then on, and it’s been about three months of me using it, and I already have not gotten really any mast pimples in the past few weeks, and even on my period I only get like one pimple on my chin, which before using cerave I would get multiple. All I am left with is scarring now which I invested in the AVERR Aglow - Luminous Complexion Toner and AVERR Aglow - Perfectionist Overnight Serumto help with that. This skin care line is so amazing and the products are natural and clean, as well as the most beautiful packaging ever!! I know it seems expensive, but it lasts you a little over two months, and will really help to actually clear your skin for good! My skin has not felt this nice in so long, and this line has done so much more for me than any other product has in the past two years. I know the price is much, but it’s totally worth it, and you probably have spent even more on other products that ended up not even working. If you have read this far thank you!! I will update on more progress but so far, my skin has done nothing but get better from this point❤️❤️
AVERR AGLOW IS HORRIBLE
DONT BUY INTO THE HYPE So I kept seeing this brand pop up on Instagram and YouTube and is was VERY hyped up. I decided to give it a shot. Immediately dried out my skin and left me feeling oily at the same time? After 1 week of full routine use day and night I started breaking out SO BAD around my chin and cheeks. Mind you I’ve never had acne on my cheeks before! I was not happy with this brand at all. It made my skin become very sensitive and irritated which I never had a problem with before. They also dont let you return anything so that was $250 down the drain. SMH AVERR Aglow - #3 Clear Skin Elixir Its a very OHKAY spot treatment. Do not recommend using all over like advertised. It dried my very oily skin out! AVERR Aglow - Completely Clear Gelée Makeup Remover DIdnt remove all my makeup like it clames and left me feeling dried out and tight which is hard to do since I have oily skin AVERR Aglow - #2 Radiant Cleansing Nectar This product made me breakout with so bad. Very oily #AVERR Aglow - Flawless Nourishment Cream[products]#[OneStar] This also made me breakout with fungal acne and also has wayyyy to many essential oils in it. Very pungent with orange so be careful

I’ve been wanting to try something from Blume for a while now- and this did not disappoint!! I absolutely am in love with this product. My acne has been pretty bad lately, around my chin and jawline. So, I’ve been looking for some new acne products to integrate into my routine. This does the job!!! I apply this oil at the end of my entire night routine (after moisturizer). And I focus putting it on areas where acne is at that time. Over night, it dries them up completely! If they’re little to begin with, they make them disappear. But, if they’re big, it dries them up and then they are gone within a another day/couple days of use. When I wake up my skin is still glowing and moisturized. If you don’t like an oily feeling in the morning, it may bother you, but it just washes off then! I definitely recommend this🤍🤍🤍🤍BLUME - Meltdown Oil for Acne-Prone Skin
Say bye to Acne!
I often deal with hormonal and random breakouts primarily on my forehead, nose and sometimes chin. I have tried so many products over the years to help get rid of acne and these 3 are THE BEST OF THE BEST. The PETER THOMAS ROTH - AHA/BHA Acne Clearing Gel I love applying all over my face right after cleansing and right before moisturizing. It’s a perfect mix of salicylic acid and glycolic acid. It gets rid of redness and dramatically gets rid of the bump of a pimple. The ROSEN SKINCARE - Break-Out is a perfect treatment to put on top right before bed, it has amazing ingredients and doesn’t dry out your skin. The pimple does flatten by the next morning and it’s almost ready to pop! I absolutely love the BLUME - Meltdown Oil for Acne-Prone Skin it’s perfect to mix into your moisturizer or just tap on top of a pimple. The next morning you won’t even remember you had a pimple. TRUST.

How I Treat Hormonal Acne
I have oily, combination skin that's prone to breakouts. Hormonal acne is the type of breakouts that I deal with most often. They are linked to my cycle and normal occur in the week before I get my period. So how do I deal with hormonal breakouts? Here's my routine: 1. After cleansing I use an exfoliating toner, my favorite is BIOLOGIQUE RECHERCHE - Lotion P50 because it's the most effective for me skin! It's not too harsh, but gets deep into the skin to fight those deep hormonal breakouts. 2. I follow that up with a spot treatment or mask. Recently I've been using the AVERR Aglow - #3 Clear Skin Elixir which is both a mask and spot treatment! It's filled with minerals and plant oils. It fights breakouts but doesn't dry out the skin! 3. Once I've removed the spot treatment or mask I then moisturize, but I add in the BLUME - Meltdown Oil for Acne-Prone Skin . This oil turns your products into an acne-treating machine! My goal with this routine is to treat my breakouts without drying out my skin. It's effective for me and treats my spots within a few days.
AVERR Aglow-#3 Clear Skin Elixir
Not worth it.
BLUME - Meltdown Oil for Acne-Prone Skin is a popular acne spot treatment that many Instagram influencers use. I was one that got influenced and I regret it. It is a pricey product that yielded absolutely no results. If I had known, I would have gone with another spot treatment. This product has the consistency of a face oil and does not absorb as quickly as I’d like. I have used it both on its own and mixed with creams and masks, all with no improvements. It is mixed with lots of essential oils so, while it smells great, it is very overwhelming. Definitely something I recommend using only at night, if you do decide to try it. On the bright side, it caused no new acne or redness, so that’s good.

BLUME MELTDOWN ACNE TREATMENT
BLUME - Meltdown Oil for Acne-Prone Skin Retails for 28 USD for 0.5 oz and 45 USD for 1 oz. x this is an facial oil that is targeted for acne prone skin and works to help clear things up, quickly. it helps to fight/calm inflammation and breakouts and also aids in preventing any scarring. x it’s great for all skin types and be forewarned it does have a natural scent to it which some might find a tad bit strong. The scent is due to natural ingredients that include: tamanu, blue tansy, lavender, rosehip and black cumin seed. Also, a little goes a long way. x texture wise: very liquidy and oily (obviously). It has some color to it but slightly. It’s super lightweight and sinks in fairly quickly. Photo 2 and 3. x experience: so I finally got some acne and blemishes on my chin (thanks period) and I immediately reached for this. Website says a little goes a long way which is true, you don’t necessarily need this ALL over your face, just the spots that need it most. I used this as the last step in my routine, went to bed and hoped for the best! I will say, this did help with redness and inflammation a great deal. I also noticed the appearance wasn’t as prominent which pleased me. I did also use this on some bacne because it’s the worst and I hate it, but I am seeing some improvement so far. Also, I don’t think this entirely got rid of any acne but it played a role in rushing the process and helped as a first step. x overall thoughts: I think this is an good product and I like that it is targeted specifically for acne. You know a little will go a long way and this can last you forever. I think because it lasts so long, it offsets the higher price since you won’t need to purchase this every month or so. x I would recommend this to those who would benefit from this product and for those who aren’t too sensitive to smell. However, for all my sensitive gals the scent might just be too much. It’s borderline too much for me and it seems to linger even after washing it off so be wary of that. x my Cherie rating: 4/5 mostly bc of the scent.
BLUME-Meltdown Oil for Acne-Prone Skin
Sunday Riley + Summer Fridays
Mask Heaven.✨ Featuring: @SundayRiley Saturn - Sulfur Acne Treatment Mask. 🪐✨ For anyone with sensitive/acne prone skin, just like me, this is a product for you! Sulfur and Niacinamide are two main ingredients in this mask, which happens to be amazing for those who cannot tolerate benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid! What is Sulfur? Sulfur is a disinfecting agent that absorbs excess oil on the skin. Now if you have dry skin you’re probably wondering if this will work good for you, and that answer is YES. I have dry skin so rather than using this as a full face mask, I use it as a spot treatment and it works amazing! By the next morning I wake up with all of my whiteheads GONE and my under the skin bumps (I have mild cystic acne) have reduced in size and redness! What is Niacinamide? Niacinamide is a form of Vitamin B3 that minimizes the look of enlarged pores, can help tighten skin, all while reducing redness and future breakouts. Also great for those with sensitive skin! This mask is worth every penny. @SummerFridays Jet Lag Mask. ✈️✨ This mask is the PERFECT pick me up on days when my skin is really dry. I tend to use this on the days after I do treatments specific towards my acne because it can dry me out even more and this creates the perfect balance. I need to get my hands on the other masks ASAP.
SUMMER FRIDAYS-Jet Lag Mask
This time it’s acne treatments and masks! ⭐️ As I suffer with acne, having a treatment that helps clear it up quickly is hugely important to me! So the highest of honours goes to kate somerville skincare Eradikate treatment! This is a Salicylic acid and sulphur treatment that you apply just on to blemishes as your last Skincare step. It’s a potent product, I’ve overused it, being over zealous trying to get the spots gone and been left with dry patches to show for it. It’s not to be taken lightly. But used correctly it’s unbeatable! Nothing shrinks spots quicker. I’ve learnt to only use it for a couple of days in a row (usually all that’s needed to clear it up!) and to use an oil before use and then apply this on top. This keep the area sufficiently hydrated and stops it drying out too much 👌🏻 ⭐️ Last but not least, we have masks! This was a tough one again as I love a hydrating mask but this clay based one from @clarksbotanicals won! Intense Radiance is a gentle but effect mask to exfoliate skin and draw out any impurities and excess oil. It’s magnificent at controlling oil but still keeping skin hydrated! It’s the only product that leaves me oil free when I wake up the next morning! 🙌🏻incredibly effective. ⭐️ So that’s my desert island skincare routine at an end! Hope you’ve all enjoyed it 😆 What treatment and mask would you choose?

Drugstore or high-end?: kaolin clay
These purifying masks have one ingredient in common: kaolin clay. Kaolin clay is a cosmetic clay rich in silica and with a neutral pH. It is versatile and can be used on all skin types, including dry or sensitive skin. Benefits: Detoxifies and cleanses the pores: the pores are clogged with dead skin cells, facial oil and bacteria. Kaolin clay helps to remove this dirt from the pores and also makes them appear smaller. Absorbs excess oil: it is one of the mildest clays and absorbs excess oil without peeling or drying the skin. Fights acne. Skin soother: helps calm inflamed and irritated skin. I love it because it is a gentle ingredient that doesn’t irritate or cause redness, removes excess oil and cleanses pores. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Unclogging Purifying Sebo-Controlling Mask Anti-Shine $19.99 It’s a purifying clay mask and skin mattifier for oily skin, removes excess oil, controls shine and removes impurities. It has a cream texture, is easy to apply, it leaves the skin soft, clean and without irritation after each application. SKINCEUTICALS - Clarifying Clay Mask for Acne Prone Skin $55 Clarifying mask that combines kaolin and bentonite clay, botanical and minerals to help calm the skin and hydroxy acid blend to gently exfoliate. It has a cream texture that makes it easy to apply. Leaves the skin hydrated, soft and clean. It is very effective and gentle on the skin. Both masks are good, Skinceuticals has greater effects because it contains a blend of malic, lactic, tartaric, citric and glycolic acids that help exfoliate dead skin cells. Both are a good option for combination and oily skin.
