barbarellaI followed your suggestion and my husband and I love the mist! The mask is amazing too, it immediately makes me feel smooth! To clarify, there is glycolic acid and sodium hydroxide (a form of hyaluronic acid) so it does have actives for hydration and exfoliation.

How many masks are too many...?
I used to love masking! I’d do at least 1 to 2 a week. Now I’ve gotten lazy and just don’t do them and I have so many I need to start using before they expire! For me, I feel having an exfoliating mask and a hydrating mask is all you need. Unless your using the product consistently you’re not going to see changes. Masks are great for plumping up the skin, adding hydration and even a soft glow. But of all the masks I’ve used I’ve never found long term effects from them (except exfoliating). One way I like to use them is right before a big night (or day) out. To give my skin that added boost. Some that are great for doing so are: FARMACY - Honey Potion Renewing Antioxidant Hydration Mask GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon + AHA Glow Sleeping Mask (use as a 10 min mask) SUMMER FRIDAYS - Jet Lag Mask FIRST AID BEAUTY - Hello FAB Ginger & Turmeric Vitamin C Jelly Mask And many others that help brighten and hydrate! I will also not go without my exfoliating masks which I do once a week. Some faves are: PAULA'S CHOICE - 25% AHA + 2% BHA Exfoliant Peel YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Yerba Mate Resurfacing Energy Facial The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution HERBIVORE - Prism 20% AHA + 5% BHA Exfoliating Glow Facial And a few others I have that I liked to use; BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Tea Tree Detox Mask ELEMIS - Superfood Vital Veggie Mask bliss - Mighty Marshmallow Mask Unfortunately as I said, I just don’t mask as often as I used to. And I feel it isn’t necessary. If you like to then I suggest you get yourself an exfoliating and moisturizing/hydrating mask and you should be good to go. Treatments are where you want to really zone in and specialize your finances for. Is it Friday yet? Ugh! I’ve been down all week with a neck I cannot turn - ouchie! And a migraine on top of that! I’m ready to knock my dogs out cause they are wanting out every half hour (it’s nice here ⛅️) Much ❤️ my skinnies 🍒
Brand Breakdown: Glow Recipe
Hey y’all! In today’s Brand Breakdown, we’re talking about Glow Recipe. Glow recipe was founded in 2014 bu Christine Chang, and Sarah Lee, two Korean Americans. Today I’ll be breaking down the ingredients of 4 of their most popular products. Let’s start with the GLOW RECIPE - Avocado Melt Retinol Eye Sleeping Mask with is $42 for .5 fl oz. This face mask features retinol as the title suggests, and it also has avocado oil and extract, as well as coffeeberry. Avocado oil and extract have Vitamin E and C, and are also nourishing. Coffeeberry, which is the seed of a coffee plant, has a lot of antioxidants. It also has glycerin and squalane which are hydrating, as well as Nicinamide, Hylaronic acid, and aloe vera gel. I will mention that this product has a lot of potentially irritating extracts as well as fragrance. Next is one of their most popular products, the GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon + AHA Glow Sleeping Mask which is $45 for 2.7 fl oz. This mask has has 2 main ingredients. Watermelon extract, and Hylaronic acid. By this point y’all know all about Hylaronic acid (and if you don’t, check out my Skincare Acid Cheat Sheet), so let’s talk about watermelon extract. If you read my Brand Breakdown on Clean & Clear, you’ll know that watermelon extract is an amazing ingredient, and watermelon juice isn’t. Luckily, in this product it’s watermelon extract, which is very soothing and hydrating. This product also has glycerin and Glycolic acid in it. It does however have a lot of fragrance, irritating extracts, and alcohol. Next up is the #GLOW RECIPE - Papaya Sorbet Smoothing Enzyme Cleansing Balm Makeup Remover[products]#[ThreeStars] with is $32 for 3.4 fl oz. Supposedly the main draws of this product are papaya enzymes, papaya seed oil, and blueberry extract. Now blueberry extract and papaya seed oil are not very researched ingredients that have only minimal effects on the skin. Papaya enzymes are mildly exfoliating, but don’t do much else. The cleansing balm is pretty basic other than this. And finally is the #GLOW RECIPE - Pineapple Vitamin C Serum[products]#[TwoStars] which is $49 for 1 fl oz. The marketing for this product is around its pineapple juice and Vitamin C. This product is super lacking for the price. The same way watermelon juice is less good for your skin than watermelon extract (because it’s diluted), pineapple juice is less effective than pineapple extract. Other than that, this product has Vitamin C which is great but very mainstream. This product also has fragrance. Those are all the products I have for today. I would say they got gradually worse as we went on, which I didn’t even do on purpose. This brand is quite expensive for it’s actual formulations, and I think there are better brands that are cheaper. If you can splurge, splurge on Youth to the People instead. Woo! Now time to work on the dark spots
Woo!! I’m so happy with my skin right now - texture is so much smoother and acne/pimples are a lot less than a few months ago (see my previous posts!!) Now, my main concern is my dark spots. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to improve them? Trader Joe’s 🍉 Mist Unpopular Review
TRADER JOE'S - Watermelon Mask and Facial Mist Set I finally found this pretty popular product in a Trader Joe’s a little far from me. To be honest, I’m kinda disappointed. This product looks very cute, I love the design and everything. It smells not like actual watermelon but like a watermelon gummy. Still, the fragrance is very strong, Some people might be allergic to this. I just think this facial mist is pretty much useless. It doesn’t last as a sticky layer on your skin, which is good. But it also doesn’t provide hydration as it says as well. I’d say it might be refreshing, but definitely not a worthy skincare product.
product claims: glow recipe watermelon mask
Hi!! Today I’m gonna talk about the GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon + AHA Glow Sleeping Mask and the things this product claims to do vs my thoughts. 1. Smooth Skin ✖️ — this product claims to smooth your skin overnight. — Unfortunately, this does not smooth my skin as an exfoliant should. It gives me mild smoothness but not as much as it should warrant. 2. Radiance Boost ✔️ — this product claims to boost the radiance of your skin. — I would say that yes, when I wake up from using this overnight, my skin looks a bit glowy and brighter! 3. Hydrates ✖️ — this product claims to hydrate your skin overnight. — I do not agree with this at all, because when I use this without a heavy moisturizer or oil, I wake up with dry, parched skin. 4. Exfoliates ✔️ — the main claim of the product is exfoliation. — this product exfoliates my skin a little. Not as much as most overnight serums or masks, but more than physical exfoliants. — 3/5 on the exfoliant factor, and it pills on me so fast. Key Ingredients: — watermelon extract — hyaluronic acid — AHA — peony extract My overall thoughts: — this is NOT worth the $45 it costs. — would much rather spend my money on a product like the ordinary peel or farmacy honeymoon glow. — this is an ok exfoliant, but there are so many better things out there!

Avocado melt retinol sleeping mask
GLOW RECIPE - Avocado Melt Retinol Sleeping Face Mask 🥑 I want to talk to you guys about my favorite retinol product I've used so far, the @glowrecipe avocado melt glow sleeping mask! Firstly, I've gotta say I automatically love anything avocado themed and this makes me feel like I'm literally putting avocado on my face because the texture resembles it so much, it's green and creamy. Some fun facts about the product is that it contains encapsulated retinol, which allows the retinol to slowly release, as well as PHAs which gently exfoliate. As for the performance of the product itself, I am very impressed. I love the fact that this is also a nourishing night mask, because it combats the dryness that retinol can give you. In the mornings after I use this, my face always looks rejuvenated, but also very moisturized. Overall, this would be amazing for anyone looking for a retinol that is non-drying! I've been trying to find the percentage of retinol in this, but can't find the information anywhere, so if anybody knows, let me know! .

glowrecipe Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask When I first got this mask I tried it for about a week, but then I thought it was breaking me out. So I stopped using it and it sat on my shelf waiting for me to be brave enough to try it again. Finally a couple weeks ago, after reading some really positive reviews from some of you guys, I gave her another chance! And let me tell you....we LOVE her. I layer this mask as the second last step in my routine. Always after my moisturizer, and before applying a facial oil. I find that’s the best spot for it because the oil applied on top really helps to lock it in and drag it deep into my skin. The product is formulated with watermelon extract and AHAs which work to chemically exfoliate skin to increase cell turnover. In English, this means that the ingredients target and remove rough textured patches that are essentially accumulations of dead skin cells. This helps to smooth and brighten the skin. And if that doesn’t sound enticing enough, these ingredients are perfectly paired with hyaluronic acid - which then swoops into the new skin cells to provide them with intense hydration. This leaves your skin smoother, brighter, and more hydrated! When I wake up, my skin truly looks so radiant and renewed. It could not be truer to it’s name - it really makes you glow! While this mask does not transfer or leave any marks on my pillow, I am left with a very thin residue on my face in the morning as it does not completely sink into your skin, but it doesn’t bother me. I just wipe any excess off my face with a cotton round soaked in micellar water and proceed to apply my morning skincare. If you haven’t tried this mask already I seriously recommend!

Do I Need a Skincare Fridge?
In short. No. BUT!! It’s a nice luxury. I was fortunate enough to receive a cute lil skincare fridge in PR around a year ago and yes I have used it the whole time. I like to store my gel products, mists, vitamin c, sheet masks, Rose quartz roller and eye creams in there. Especially for a hydrating mask like DRUNK ELEPHANT - F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial Mask or GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon + AHA Glow Sleeping Mask it just feels so soothing and kills inflammation when you have it cooled (same as an eye cream like DRUNK ELEPHANT - Shaba Complex Firming Eye Serum ). A cool mist like the GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow Ultra-Fine Mist feels so soothing and ultra refreshing in the fridge too. One reason why I might say it’s close to a necessity, would be that it prolongs the shelf life and prevents early oxidation of pure vitamin c serums that contain l Ascorbic acid like OSEA - Brightening Serum or DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum . But at the end of the day, if you are properly storing your skincare out of the sun and heat, it will stay in its best form. The fridge is just a luxury if you’re a hardcore skincare fanatic or have chronic puffiness and need your products cooled ❤️
Liking it more than I anticipated
A few goodies here that deserve a mention: 🍒 Primera wild seed firming serum. Truthfully haven’t had the time to fully review it, but it’s a decent texture. I need more time to really feel out if I would repurchase but not a bad product from Primera✨ 🍒 Tatcha violet-c radiance mask is actually pleasantly surprising me. I did this yesterday and no joke- I was gloooowing afterwards. The texture is so nice but also weird because it never really hardens it more just absorbs into your skin! I will keep using before final review but liking it more than I anticipated ☺️ 🍒 Dr. Jart+ cicapair line is a pleasant surprise as well. I though the creams might make me break out but they are honestly super soothing! Very impressed with their gel cream and the originally tiger grass cream was reformulated and the tube is more user friendly! 🍒 Glow Recipe avocado retinol eye & face sleeping mask - this is a tough one for me! I will say that I enjoy the eye cream. I haven’t noticed any results from it but it never burned my eyes which is very very rare for me! As for the face mask- I seem to wait up super oily from it and sticky from the top layer 🧐 going to try with less of a routine but I’ve noticed when I stop using it my skin calms down- so we will see!
GLOW RECIPE-Avocado Melt Retinol Sleeping Face Mask
The Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask is the first sleeping mask I have ever tried. I know a lot of people use sleeping masks different ways, but typically I use it over the last step of my nightly routine (usually moisterizer) to seal everything in for extra moisture & glow 🌟 I’m now married to another sleeping mask (YTTP Superberry Dream) but this one served me well for quite awhile. It smells like a watermelon jolly rancher & upon the first application I woke up with soft & glowing skin. The thing I like the most about it is the lightweight jelly texture. It is really easy to glide over the skin & isn’t too heavy which I love because the last thing I want is to put a heavy sleep mask over my already excessive night routine. I also noticed over the course of using it for couple months that it also helps with evening your complexion & texture. I used it about 3-4 days a week during that time. Overall, it is definitely nice, but I don’t think the results are super dramatic. It is definitely an extra layer of moisture but I wish there was more of a noteable difference after so long. I will continue to use this occasionally during the winter for extra hydration but do not think I will repurchase because its a pretty penny ($48 USD) & I want to explore other options.
