Mask of the week! My new favorite sheet mask 😍
Em Rata has a brand of sheet masks and YES they are worth the hype. I was gifted a variety pack of the Loops sheet masks. I had been eyeing these for some time and refused to buy them due to their price tag for sheet masks. Now that I’ve tried them.. I will definitely buy these gladly on my own. LOOPS - Variety loop $30 and comes with 5 masks. Sunrise Service - brightens, depuffs, hydrates, and protects w/ antioxidants. Night Shift - nourishes, calms, firms, moisturizes. Perfect for before bed. Clean Slate - deep cleanses, detoxifies, soothes, hydrates. Double Take - calms, adds glow, brightens, refined pores. Weekly Reset - anti aging, refines pores, rejuvenates, moisturizes. This is a great pack of different masks to fit everything that goes in my life. The best part of these masks is that they STAY PUT. They literally don’t budge. It is split into 2 pieces as well so it fits perfectly to any face. I’ve used the clean slate mask and it did exactly what it promised. My skin felt and looked clean and had the best glow. LOOPS - Clean Slate

HOW TO SAVE SCAR-PRONE SKIN (KojieSan Review)
LEFT PHOTO: 2017 RIGHT PHOTO: 2020 So in 2017, my junior year, I developed a crazy breakout on my forehead. This breakout was pretty unusual to me. They were a bunch of very small, closed, white condones. There weren’t inflamed or tender, just raised. And me being me, I picked at them. They were so small I honestly didnt realize the damage they did to my skin until maybe a month after . And by then, these bumps spread from my forehead down to my chin. This is when I discovered kojic acid and papaya enzymes. And still to this day KojieSan soap is my mf go-to. So lets talk KojieSan. This soap is actually categorized as a skin lightening soap because of its active ingredient, kojic acid. Kojic acid’s primary use is to inhibit (prevent) melanin production. Because of this affect, it easily reduces visable age spots or scarring. Exhibiting anti-aging effects as well. Kojic acid also houses antimicrobial properties that can help treat acne by reducing the bacteria on your skin. Lol I understand how the phrase “skin lightener” can scare ppl. But please take into consideration that this would be my recommendation for anyone who is suffering from photodamge, melasma, or post hyperpigmentation. CAUTION: 1- Please be aware of this product. If not used properly, you can face some adverse side affects. STAY OUT OF THE SUN. If you plan on using this product do not come in contact with direct sunlight. The UV radiation will stimulate melanin production and cause VISIBLE PHOTODAMAGE. Always apply sunscreen regardless if you are going out in the sun or not! Highest SPF PLEASE 2- Be mindful to use this product in intervals for maximum results. 2 months at a time would be my recommendation. It gives your skin a chance to grow and breath. Also an opportunity to observe your skin 3- Do not use on sensitive or dry skin. Ex. Atopic dermatitis/eczema. This product can be very drying. Be mindful to hydrate and moisturize your skin after use. TIPS: When using this product remember to do a patch test before you apply a large amount on yourself. This can prevent an allergic reaction if you are allergic to any of the ingredients . I would recommend starting off using this product at night ONLY once a week. Then working your way up once every few nights. Then once every 2 nights. But listen to your skin. If you experience any (during or post) redness/ stinging/ sensitivity/ irritation, STOP using this product immediately. Once my skin became accustomed and conditioned to this product, I would leave it on for about 2 minutes then rinse. I would do this method every other night for 2 months at a time. This method really helped the post hyperpigmentation on my face and for my strawberry legs, as well as brightening my underarms, elbows and knees. Btw, I love this app so much. I was scrolling on my homepage and found an entry of this girl that was asking about this breakout she had . And her symptoms were practically identical to mine. FUNGAL ACNE. #darkspots
Keep going! It will happen! 💕
I know when you first start your skincare journey it can be so incredibly overwhelming and discouraging. Especially when you drop a lot of money on a product that sooooo many people love and swear by and you just don’t see any results. Well let me tell you! No matter how amazing a product is, it’s going to take time. It doesn’t always take months upon months but you’ve got to be consistent and make sure the products you are using are right for you. YOU. It may take trial and error but you will find what works for you. I have been sticking to a routine for 2 months now. Before that I just used different products here and there. My results you see are a combination of the following products being added into my routine: A good cleanser currently: HERBIVORE - Pink Cloud Rosewater + Tremella Creamy Jelly Cleanser The Ordinary - Matrixyl* 10% + HA I use this ever single day. A good vitamin c serum currently Mad Hippie - Vitamin C Serum A retinol/ vitamin A serum currently Mad Hippie - Vitamin A Serum A good daytime moisturizer for combo skin like boscia - Revitalizing Black Charcoal Hydration Gel FARMACY - Daily Greens Oil-Free Gel Moisturizer with Moringa and Papaya YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Air-Whip Moisture Cream Mad Hippie - Mad Hippie Face Cream Niacinamide serum or powder currently NATURIUM - Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2% The Ordinary - 100% Niacinamide Powder And a good exfoliant 3x weekly Currently using Mad Hippie - Microdermabrasion Facial I alternate these am-pm just depending on what I think my skin needs most at that time. I do not ever use these all together. I also use some masks a few times a week and those definitely vary. Just keep researching, learning, and trying things. You will find what is going to work best for you. We here on Cherie can tell you if a product work for us but no one but you can tell what’s going to give you the results you want. Just keep going 🧡 You got this!

My favorite serum
#Top2020Skincare (c/o @devsday and @goalstogetglowing): The Atolla - Custom Serum is my pick for my favorite vitamin C serum. This is my favorite one out of the 5 vitamin C serums I've tested this year. The Atolla serums are personalized, which means that you get the perfect serum that's best for your unique skin needs. I got my second serum modified to focus on skin healing with ingredients like Ascorbic Acid Complex (1.0%) and Alpha-Arbutin (2.0%). This serum revolutionized my skin this year after I got significant sun damage after a day out on the water (I definitely learned my lesson to reapply sunscreen after that). My skin texture feels baby smooth with this serum. I'm not exaggerating This one bottle lasted me 3 months of PM use (I wanted to test out other active serums during the AM) I ran out of this serum last month and my skin is not as radiant as before, and my acne scars are taking longer to fade away. I've tested many many vitamin C serums over the years because I have like chronic acne scars. Unfortunately not many vitamin C serums were good and I've had to throw out bottles that have oxidized after just a few uses. The Atolla serum never oxidizes. My boyfriend also swears by his Atolla serum. So you know if he approves... it's really that good! If you wanna try it out yourself, you can get a month for free using the link in my bio. The frugal Asian in me hates throwing things away that aren't fully used up, but I learned that oxidized vitamin C can actually be harmful to your skin. What are your experiences with oxidized skincare? Do you chuck it in the trash too?
LET'S WAX MY LEGS! 😳🙇🏻♀️ #CheriePartner
I shared my shaving routine (check that out if you're interested) but now it's time to share my waxing routine! I want to preface by sayin during winter time I am very lazy to shave my legs especially when I'm wearing pants all the time. Also ladies & gents: SHAVING AT ALL IS YOUR CHOICE. SHAVE WHENEVER YOU WANT! HAIR GROWTH IS NOT A DEFINITION OF BEAUTY! So, in this description I'm gonna go a little bit more into depth about my routine! Let's get started. I'm using the: Sally Hansen - Hair Remover Wax Strip Kit for Body 1) your legs must be dry to begin the process! Normally when shaving I exfoliate before hand but if you do want to do that I would recommend doing it at least a couple hours before so your legs are completely dry when you start. 2) don't forget to warm up the strips! as I stated in the video some strips do not require you to "warm" them. with the Sally Hansen brand of strips this is a requirement and I feel like it does matter for the overall stripping affect of the wax. 3) don't hesitate! this is a big one when it comes to waxing your own body that if you really want for hair removal you can't be scared. The pain is momentary but there are some areas like my inner thighs that I just prefer to shave because I am afraid of bruising or incorrect removal - that area is very sensitive for me & this is a personal preference. 4) move in the opposite direction of hair growth! for example my hair grows down word so when I'm pulling the strips I pull them towards myself. this allows for maximum hair removal! 5) take your time! I know I said not to hesitate but when I say take your time all I really mean is you should set aside an hour or two for this so you're not in a rush and don't cause any injury to yourself. 6) when done DO NOT go to the sauna or take a hot shower! this is one of the biggest no-no's when it comes to waxing even if you get it done professionally. waxing is a form of exfoliation, so after a session your skin has just undergone a lot, which means always wait 24 hours before using hot water! i recommend aloe vera for any irritated areas. after the 24 hour waiting period that is when I take a full shower and also provide my skin with the extra moisture I wasn't able to give it the day before. i use the same products that I use in my shaving routine but I'm happy to list them below for you guys: Aveeno - Stress Relief Moisturizing Lotion ogx - Renewing Argan Oil of Morocco Penetrating Oil - good for skin not for hair #LOVE beauty and PLANET - Coconut Oil & Mimosa Flower Shower Oil[products]#[FiveStars] I do want to stress that if you are a person with thicker hair you may want to pick up an extra box. this set is good but like I said I personally have thicker hair so I didn't have enough strips for myself! there's no issue with the wax itself it's more so a quantity issue. As always, sending love. Thanks for reading. ❤️ #cheriepartner #cheriecreator

This hair growth serum works! Results are given!
For anyone who wants hair growth or having a hair loss this serum works!! ⬅️Swipe left to see results!! I have been losing a lot of hair due to my PCOS and I was looking for hair products that will enhance my hair growth and increase volume. And I never believed in any Hair growth serum to be working. I always thought it's a gimmick and probably won't grow my hair or make them voluminous. But, to my surprise this serum worked!! I found out about Vegamour after an extensive research and I read so many good reviews of this serum. So I went ahead and bought @vegamour Gro+ Advanced Hair Serum.VEGAMOUR - Gro+ Advanced Hair Serum They have their Gro hair serumVEGAMOUR - GRO Hair Serum which is original one but the one I bought has micro-encapsulated full-spectrum hemp oil! I read about it and thought it might work for my hair and it did! ❤️ Their Gro hair serum doesn't have full spectrum Hemp but I assume it works the same way. ✨What is it? -The Gro+ Advanced hair serum is reformulated in a way that they boosted the efficacy of this natural active even further by reducing the size of the hemp molecule from 2000 nanometers down to a mere 100-150 nanometers. -This much smaller hemp molecule is able to penetrate through to the upper layer of the dermis and reach hair follicles at the root level - It then allows actives like mung bean, red clover, curcumin and nicotiana benthamiana to circulate more deeply and effectively into problem areas, increasing the length of your hair's growth cycle while strengthening and thickening your hair. - Plus, the full-spectrum hemp oil works as an anti-inflammatory to soothe your scalp and follicles for maximum growth potential. They have some before and after pictures on their website which are quite promising. After me giving this a try I found that my hair at the front part where I experienced most thinning are growing to be full and voluminous. I saw difference in my hair line, this serum made my hair line quite even and the fine hair got a lot strong. The best part is that it's a plant based, 100% natural serum which works in a much effective way. It's a little bit pricey for the size we get but for what it does and it works I think I will repurchase it. Also, the results are very subtle initially and you might feel like it's not working but I would suggest you keep using it and after few weeks you'll notice a difference! ❤️✨ Do you like hair growth serums??

Derm's SUG: Skin purging or acne?
One of the most common questions I get asked as a dermatologist is “why is my acne getting worse even though I just started using acne medicine?” There are 2 reasons this could be happening. Oftentimes, when you start new acne medication, your skin will begin purging, which is normal. However, acne could get worse because of other products you are using which may not be non-comedogenic and will clog your pores. Sometimes it can be difficult to tell if you are purging or your acne is worsening. Skin Purging can occur when patients start using acne products, like retinoids/retinol and hydroxyacids, that increase cell turnover to get rid of dead skin cells. Patients with acne have excess oil/sebum and dead skin cells living dormant in pores under the surface of their skin. When you start certain acne medications, it uncovers the acne, and they pop out as new acne. The medications did not cause the acne to form, it just uncovered them. Once they are brought to the surface, then your new acne medications will get rid of them. Unfortunately, it can take 2-8 weeks to complete the process of purging. It is important to stick with your regimen and not get discouraged. You could try to use the medications less often, and that may ease some purging; however, it will slow down your progress in getting rid of the acne. Also, avoid harsh scrubbing brushes or products/cosmetics that might dry out your skin. Worsening of your acne can come from using products that are comedogenic, which clog your pores. Always check the labels of all your makeup, concealers, soaps, moisturizers, sunscreens, and anything that you put on your face. If the label doesn’t say “non-comedogenic”, or “oil free”, or “safe for acne”, it probably is not. Other things that can make acne worse are putting your hands on your face, picking at your acne, not cleaning your cell phone or pillow cases or athletic equipment that comes in contact with your face, not washing immediately after sports, and not eating properly. Avoid dairy and excess carbs from desserts. If your acne does not resolve, you should seek treatment from a board certified dermatologist to prevent permanent scarring.
