Updated Night Routine!
I had a lot of empties in January, so here is my updated night routine! I have a post detailing actives that I use and my schedule around those actives, so they won’t be included in this post. My first step is my double-cleansing step, I use the Dr Dennis Gross - Hyaluronic Marine Makeup Removing Meltaway Cleanser (📍)to remove SPF and makeup, which I really love, it’s very unique, but it doesn’t break me out at all. Then I use the LANEIGE - Cream Skin Milk Oil Cleanser (📍) to cleanse a second time, I really enjoy this too, my skin tends to freak out when it comes to Laneige’s fragrance, but this is fragrance-free!! After cleansing I steam my face with the Dr Dennis Gross - Pro Facial Steamer which I feel like has really helped the hydration levels of my skin. After that I’ll apply the TATCHA - The Essence Plumping Skin Softener (📍)which I also like, but I’m not sure how much it’s really done for my skin for what it’s worth. I’ll steam again, for about 30 seconds and then go into my PETER THOMAS ROTH - Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Serum which is the only serum that can truly repair my moisture barrier when I’m breaking out. Then my eye product is The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG (📍)which I’ve been loving a lot too! My current winter moisturizer is the Dr. Jart+ - Ceramidin Cream which again, I like, but it feels like it puts a barrier on my skin, which kind of felt weird to begin with. After moisturizer, my last two steps are to treat any breakouts or spots with the Murad - Blemish Control Rapid Relief Spot Treatment and use something to lock it all in like the The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Moroccan Argan Oil it does the job, but smells super weird. The only way I’ve been able to describe it is, picture the olive bar at a local grocery store, and the smell that comes from that. Not super pleasant, but it’s okay. 📍= product was sent to me for free
These are my ride or die
So, I have an autoimmune disease and I tend to have lots of inflammation. That being said, when I wake up puffy like a blow fish 🐠.... these are my life savers ! The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG this little baby packs a punch! De-puffs and gives my eyes a wake up call!! It is unique in that it is not a cream. At first I wasn’t sure, but I’m hooked. One drop on each eye does the trick. Easy to apply, smooth and silky! Wake up those peepers with this little bottle of magic 🪄!! mizz bloom - JADE ROLLER this is my go to in morning to drain my lymphatic system. I keep mine in my skin fridge, so it is nice and cold! Add my serums and then have a nice little roll! De puffs my face and helps with contouring. T

My Differin Journey (9 weeks in and STRUGGLING)
Hi all, Around the first week of December 2020 I decided to start trying Differin Adapalene Gel to address my skin concerns. As some of my previous posts explain, I’ve struggled badly with oily skin, blackheads, extremely enlarged pores, and occasional acne, most of my teenage years and into my adult life (I’m 26 now). I have tried SO many products to try and help curb my issues (see previous posts for examples), and though they’ve helped a little, I’ve never been fully satisfied with the results... my skin is just stubborn! I decided to swap my retinol for Differin to see if it would target my issues a little bit better and JEEZ has this been a journey so far... So to be completely blunt, I’m discouraged. If you look at the attached photo, the picture with all the acne is me NOW. Yes, RIGHT NOW. The one WITHOUT explosive acne is my BEFORE Differin skin. Okay, now I’ll get into it... So it’s been about 9 weeks since I’ve started on Differin. In the beginning I noticed my skin was starting to feel really sensitive, which it never is. Any other product (Niacinamide, Hyaluronic Acid, etc.) felt like burning when I put it on, which is incredibly strange for me. My skin has been consistently pink ever since. I immediately stopped using any BHA, AHA or any harsh acid while using Differin and made sure to SLATHER on reparative moisturizer to help repair my skin barrier. Basically my skin routine needed to stripped to the bare minimum. Throughout the weeks, my skin flaked and peeled excessively, especially with makeup on. It looked SO dry and awful and felt stingy underneath (still does). Then about 3 weeks in, the purging started. It started off slow and erupted to where it’s at now on February 11, 2021. Purge pimples are so strange compared to my sporadic cystic acne bumps I’m used to getting. Purging shows up in a big breakout cluster of pimples, mostly small (not always), but definitely painful and brutal looking for me. Over the weeks it just got worse and worse. I’m getting pimples all in the same place for the most part — my lower cheek areas. It has been tumultuous and my skin has never looked this terrible in my whole life. I’ve done my research on Differin, and everyone says it is completely normal for your skin to get worse before it gets better (for me, A LOTTTTT worse). I’m hoping this is true because I really want to stick this out — I’ve already gone through the worst of it, might as well wait it out a bit longer. If you’re interested in Differin, just be prepared for what you’re getting into! I’m sure this will all be worth it but wanted to share my experience and help others with the SHOOKness that may or may not happen. I will definitely share updates in the future with hopefully better results! Anyone try Differin before? Was it this hard? Did your purging last this long? Words of encouragement? Thank you!! DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel
Before and Afters still in progress....
I truly don’t like doing before and afters especially when it looks like there’s barely any progress but I promise you my skin FEELS so much better than it looks and I’ve seen some amazing progress! I’ve tagged the products I feel have helped the most recently. It takes patience but little progress is still PROGRESS 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Asking for tips/suggestions!!!
The Ordinary - Retinol 1% in Squalane haven’t used it for a long period of time to give a review. But there are times i would apply this at night and my skin is feeling soft like a baby’s butt. The way i integrate this product in my routine, is that i would use this only as my active and the rest of my skincare is gentle and basic. Cerave hydratjng cleanser, kiehls calendula toner, then this serum, and finish it with a nourishing cream such as drunk elephant lalaretro whipped cream! I know retinol can be very drying which is why i used the moisturizer that has the most beneficial ingredients. I got myself two bottles thinking i would go through this quick, but i thought wrong. Which is why i started using it on my neck every day, i have some noticeable lines that i would like to get rid of. i would buff it with the cerave lotion, and apply a few drops on the palm of my hands and apply it on my neck and chest. I only use this once a week, ive learned it the hard way and used so much actives at once that my skin became hella sensitive. Any suggestions as to how i could benefit more to this serum? YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Kombucha + 11% AHA Exfoliation Power Tonerno ratings, because i haven’t used it yet! I ended up buying the smaller bottle of it, because for now i’m finishing up the drunk elephant aha/bha serum before i could try this product out. Please give me tips on how to use it, how i can incorporate it in my routine, should i just not have bought it at all? Lol 🆘

The Best Advice For Choosing Skincare Products
Hey Beauty’s 🙋🏽♀️ So I’ve recommended a lot of products and thought I’d share some advice on how how I select skincare products these days. ☺️ Thanks to @babesandbeauty on Instagram for the advice. Products that you consistently use I noticed that I consistently use TruSkin - Vitamin C Serum which has Vitamin C, hyaluronic acid and Vitamin E as my day Serum. I also have The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 for my night routine. I’ve started using Truskin’s Super Serum at night and now alternate between using a natural Retinol or Vitamin A Moisturiser and the Truskin Super Serum which has Vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid, Niacinamide, and Retinol. I now can’t live without my FORMULA 10.0.6 - Rise of the Foam Blemish Busting Cleanser I use this because of the salicylic acid and hemp oil as part of my double cleansing routine. I’m currently trialing products for my first cleanse. 😄 I noticed the ingredients are ideal for my issues which are rough texture, larger than average pores, dullness and my wrinkles and fine lines. For reducing the appearance of my fine lines and wrinkles I ❤️ hyaluronic acid!!!! Products that are ideal for your skin type I’m a little lucky in the fact that I have combination skin and can use a range of products for my issues. Treating the wrong skin type can lead to irritated skin, breakouts and premature aging. Choosing the correct skin care routine for your skin type is essential for making your skin appear youthful and healthy. Products that do not cause irritation to your skin barrier Our skin is the largest barrier against infection that we have. Keeping our skin healthy and moist helps keep this barrier strong. Using the proper skin care products for your skin type can help preserve this important protective layer. ☺️ Products that fit your budget and life The Ordinary creators have totally changed how we think about and buy skin care. Its allowed us to understand ingredients and offered them in ridiculously cheap formulas. It’s championed transparency in an industry that wants you to think expensive products are better. Nothing costs more than $20. In fact, the majority of it ranges at less than $10. This is largely in part thanks to The Ordinary's dedication to transparency, resulting in prices that aren't significantly marked up. Although if you can afford to spend $150 I’d recommend purchasing a Serum rather than a cleanser or moisturiser. Drop me a line about what you consider when you purchase skincare products. Is it the beautiful packaging, ingredient list or that you just saw a review and want to try it. ☺️ Have a wonderful day or evening Jade 🥂
When hydration is needed 💦
I am a dry skinned girl so I am always on the look out for hydrators and moisturizers. This is especially the case as I like to use actives in my routine and they can further dry out my skin. Hyaluronic acid is one of my go to ingredients as it draws moisture into my skin and it works well with other ingredients. The ordinary offers this serum which is great as it is super affordable and it works well with my skin. What is it: This is a hyaluronic acid serum with 3 different weighted molecules so that it can penetrate and hydrate different layers if the skin. Hyaluronic acids is a humectant meaning it absorbs moisture from the air and draws it into the skin. This serum also has b5 which helps nourish and soften the skin. Texture: This is a goopy and cloudy serum that is easily absorbed into my dry skin. Price: This sells at Sephora for $6.80 cad for 1 oz or $12.20 cad for 2oz How I use this: I use this along with my steamer to make sure that the air is moisture rich in order to draw moisture to my skin. This ensures I get the best result. Pros 👍: affordable 2 sizes available accessible effective cruelty free 🐰 Cons 👎: some people don’t like the texture you shouldn’t over use hyaluronic acid (check other products) The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 this is a super simple serum that has really helped my dry skin

Laneige— Sephora birthday gift!
For my birthday I was able to pick up my annual Sephora free mini gift set, and this year I chose Laneige! I really wanted to see what the hype was all about on the Lip Sleeping Mask, since it’s soooo highly rated and on Allure’s top product list! Here are my thoughts after using them for a week! LANEIGE - LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask it’s a no for me. ❌ Reason being: It actually dried my lips out. This stuff is literally just lip gloss that you put on your lips at night and that’s it. I will say that it does feel very expensive and luxurious when you put it on- but after like 3 hours of sleep, the stuff magically is gone from my lips and dried up into thin air. I’ve even tried wearing it during the day to see if I was just licking it off in my sleep, and it stilll evaporated. So, I will be sticking with my cheap Aquaphor that truly transforms my lips overnight. LANEIGE - Water Sleeping Mask also a no ❌ Reason being: when I applied this is feels NICE. It feels like a gel that’s so cooling and refreshing. It dried on my face and actually got really tight (idk if that’s supposed to happen?) and my face didn’t seem moisturized. Idk it was weird so I don’t think I would purchase again. LANEIGE - Water Bank Moisture Cream okay I won’t give it an X this time! ✅ I did enjoy this product, and really had a beautiful, dewy finish on my skin every time I used it as a moisturizer. I do feel like it gave me hydration and I liked the cooling, gel feeling of it like the sleeping mask had. Overall, I really like this stuff!
Lucious Lips 💋
First follow me for more content this like this and then go follow@RedheadSkincarebecause sis put me on to this! I got this sample from Sephora and I was this close 🤏🏾 to choosing a different gift but I remembered her review and decided to go with this set instead. Glad I chose the Laneige gift set because this did not disappoint! The directions says to wipe off the remaining amount the next morning but my lips were so dry this mask melted into my skin like buttah! A tip for anyone thinking about trying out new skincare for the first time. Always start small and get a sample or travel sizes first. Some skincare can be pricy so I like to try it out before going all in especially as someone with sensitive skin. My motto: Try Before You Buy! Can’t wait to share my thoughts on the rest of the goodies I got. ✌🏾 LANEIGE - LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask

Brands I love ❤️
For Valentine's day I figure I'd make a post about brands I LOVE and highly recomend! Paula’s choice I know I do not own many of her products and I think it’s because I want to try other brands as I explore the vast skincare world. I already know this one is trustworthy in my book. They not only have a great resource with their ingredient dictionary, but they use that knowledge and transparency to formulate great products. Even the negative reviews on this brand that I've seen still say they formulate very well. They are slightly on the pricey side (expect about $40 or more), but you cannot go wrong. I love their PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator especially and have used their PAULA'S CHOICE - Defense Nightly Reconditioning Moisturizer Krave Beauty They don’t carry a lot of products in their brand, but like a fine dining restaurant with a small menu, what they make is their specialty. Their products are reasonably priced and they focus on non-irritating effective ingredients to help your skin barrier. I currently have their Krave - Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser and their Krave - Great Barrier Relief Inkey List I love this brand and that they are making simple products with usually only once active and that allows people to try them to see how it effects their skin for a reasonable price. I currently have their rosehip oil because I didn’t know how my skin would react to it, but it’s known for hydrating and evening skin tone. I currently use their THE inkey LIST - Rosehip Oil Cosrx Another good brand that formulates well while still being very reasonably priced. I love their COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence and COSRX - Hyaluronic Acid Hydra Power Essence CeraVe A tried and true brand. There is a reason why dermatologists recommend this. CeraVe is formulated with non irritating ingredients, that may make them seem “boring” by not being packed with actives, but effective. I have a few of their products. CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream CeraVe - Skin Renewing Night Cream and CeraVe - Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Face Serum
My Current PM Routine
I recently did my AM routine.... Guess it's time to do my PM routine. Keep in mind my routines do tend to change frequently due to me trying different products to review, but this is my current one. THE inkey LIST - Oat Cleansing Balm (I have to double check, but I think it's fragrence free) So far I'm enjoying this one. I like the ease of the tube and the texture is nice to get off my makeup and sunscreen. I actually like this one better than Then I met you - Living Cleansing Balm (not Fragrence free) and it's cheaper. I still enjoy then I met you, but it's not in the tube and I like inkey's texture better. Krave - Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser (Fragrence free) I've been using this one for PM because I feel like my milky cleansers aren't strong enough to get off the balm (it probably is). It's still gentle, while still feeling cleansing. I will say there's been times where I don't get it fully off and then when I go into my next step, it still foams up and I have to go back in and REALLY make sure I got it off Hanskin - Hyaluron Skin Essence(I think it's fragrence free. Again I'd have to double check) I haven't used this one enough yet to make a review, but so far I like it. It's watery like a toner so that's how I've been using it. My go to is usually COSRX - Hyaluronic Acid Hydra Power Essence which I still use in the AM. I want to like Hanskin because I don't have a toner and wouldn't mind using this product in that place COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence (Fragren free) I've already reviewed this one! Def a holy grail because it makes my skin feel plump and hydrated. If you can get around the idea of using snail slime, it is worth it! ETUDE - Soonjung Hydro Barrier Cream(Fragrence free) Another product too soon to review since it just recently joined my routine. It does leave a little shine while its waiting to sink in so if I keep it in my routine it would be for PM. So far my go to is CeraVe - Skin Renewing Night Cream and I'm curious to find a cream that is a little more complex in it's ingredients list THE inkey LIST - Rosehip Oil (Fragrence free) I've been using this for a few weeks now. It is nice for hydration, but it sits on my skin. I feel like it sits on my skin for a long time. If I'm going straight to bed, I feel like it gets on my pillow and hair making a oily mess. I like to use this if I know I have time before laying down

Why does my skin react different night vs day?
Over the years I have gone through hundreds of products figuring out what works for me. I have finally found a good set of products that I love, but sometimes when I use certain products in the daytime (such as Bio-Oil - Multiuse Skincare Oil and certain facemasks, I breakout so much worse than I do when I use the same exact product at night! I am confused by this so I have been wondering if it’s related to my oil levels throughout the day or what? Should I be using more drying products in the day time and hydrating at night? The only ones that really work for me day and night are The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and THE BODY SHOP - Jumbo Tea Tree Oil although I know Hyram has said oils are not for the face
getting off makeup and clear skin with rosacea!
okay... so I know I've posted this before, and Cherie is (devastatingly) closing down, but I thought I'd share one last post. This really works. one is a prescription and there are a couple items missing, so I'll add them to the pictures. Here is the order they say to put on skincare (as depicted) 1) makeup remover/wash (I use Queen Helene cold cream that I SWEAR by, sometimes BURT’S BEES - BURT‘S BEES Sensitive Facial Cleanser ) 2) Facewash/second face wash (I use DERMA•E - Sensitive Skin Cleanser and Joeseph anti Acne soap 10% sulfur) 3) Toner (I use THAYERS - Rose Petal Facial Toner ) 4) Serums (I use a few... my prescription Amzeeq, mostly The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% , and DERMA•E - Blue Light Shield Concentrated Serum ) 5) Spot Treatments (Murad - Invisiscar Resurfacing Treatment , tea tree oil when needed) 6) Eye Cream (not pictured - DERMA•E - Firming DMAE Eye Lift Cream ) 7) Moisturizer (2 different kinds depending on how dry I am- pictured: Alba Botanica Aloe Green tea moisturizer, not pictured: skinfix - Barrier+ Triple Lipid-Peptide Cream ) 8) Retinol: Now, because I have rosacea, I use a retinol alternative. The best one for sensitive skin I found is The Ordinary - Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion use at night only) 9) Face Oil: HEAR ME OUT: If you have oily skin, it's not the WORST thing to use an oil. As a matter of fact, it may work well. BEST ONE BY FAR IS ROSEHIP OIL. I can't tell you how amazing it is The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil , and JOSIE MARAN - Pure Argan Milk Intensive Hydrating Treatment during the day) wear sunscreen during the day, and put it in place of retinol. I use Glossier. - Invisible Shield Daily Sunscreen it's a great light moisturizer, too. And at night in the winter if it's super dry, I'll put petroleum jelly around the corners of my eyes and lips. The results don't lie, Cherie babes (: comment below I'd you know of a better eye cream.

THE BEST MOISTURIZERS I HAVE EVER BOUGHT
These are my HOLY GRAIL moisturizers. I spent so much time looking for the perfect moisturizers, and I have arrived! 🤩 And everyone could benefit from any of these. I'm a huge believer in that even if you don't have "sensitive skin" it's so important to use moisturizers with non-irritating, and barrier protecting ingredients, that won't clog pores or cause breakouts. I am super prone to clogged pores, fungal acne, and breakouts, and I am extremely picky about my moisturizers. I only use ones that don't clog pores! For my oily skin babies, the #La Roche-Posay - TOLERIANE FLUIDE OIL FREE MOISTURIZER[products]#[FiveStars] is amazing! In the winter I found it to be not moisturizing enough, but in the summer it was perfect for my combo skin. There is no chance this moisturizer will clog pores or irritate breakouts. It's so lightweight and wears great under makeup. It's also oil, essential oil, and fragrance free. I do find this a bit overpriced, especially since I went through it pretty fast. It's the most expensive out of the three of these, being about $30. Some say this is purely an oily skin moisturizer, but I think anyone can benefit from the Benton - Aloe Propolis Soothing Gel I love using this especially after a chemical peel or when my skin is irritated. It's extremely calming and redness relieving. I find it to be both moisturizing and hydrating, especially when I lock it all in with my vanicream moistuizer which I will mention next! This gel is the only moisturizer I use on my forehead because it's AMAZING for FUNGAL ACNE. It has antibacterial properties and doesn't promote growth in fungal acne. It's smoothed down my forehead so much, and it's only like $15! Now let me tell you about the #Vanicream - Vanicream Daily Facial Moisturizer [products]#[FiveStars] . This is the BEST moisturizer I've ever owned in MY LIFE. Even though I don't have super oily skin, I still crave a deeply moisturizing moisturizer with ceramides and humectants. But most of them out there aren't suitable for acne prone skin. So for those of ya'll with DRY, ACNE-PRONE skin, you will LOVE this. Same with aging skin, sensitive skin...if you have SKIN you will love this. This moisturizer has squalene, Glycerin, and 5 key ceramides, and it's $14.99! And it's guaranteed NO reaction or NO sensitivity, which I love. I picked this up after I was sick of using the DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream and found that it was breaking me out, and wasn't moisturizing enough. It has about the same texture, but the vanicream is less gel-like. BUT with the added antiaging and peptide/ceramide benefits, you could say this was a dupe for the DE one...just better!

This toner can be considered to be on the pricier side, retailing for $22. FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum This serum has a very lightweight texture that works well for all skin types while providing sheer moisture. 💰💰Money saved！9 Drunk Elephant Skincare Dupes Recommended by Youtuber Cassandra Bankson👍👍！(2)
Hey guys! In my last post, I introduced four Drunk Elephant skincare dupes recommended by Cassandra. This post, I will continue to show you the remaining five best Drunk Elephant dupes that contain similar or identical ingredients as Drunk Elephant products and achieve similar or identical results but with lower prices👇👇. The Original: DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum$128 The Dupe: #FARMACY - Honeymoon Glow AHA Resurfacing Night Serum[products]# $88 " FARMACY Honeymoon Glow AHA Resurfacing Night Serum is not the perfect dupe, but they are similar." said Cassandra. They both have the key ingredient AHA, which is a glycolic acid exfoliating the skin. Also, they have a greatest-hits list of non-abrasive chemical exfoliants: tartaric, lactic, citric, and salicylic acids are all in this potent PM cocktail to sweep away dead skin cells and brighten everything up. The Original: DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial Mask$80 The Dupe: BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Glycolic Renewal Mask, $68 Cassandra pointed out that this dupe is a steal of a deal with some of the same great ingredients, like glycerin, salicylic acid, lactic acid, and so on, to exfoliate and renew our skin. Also, they have ingredients like squalane and hyaluronic acid plump and hydrate. The main difference is usage. The BIOSSANCE takes just 10 minutes each time and around 3 times a week while the DE recommends 20minnites and only once a week. The Original: DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Tango Multivitamin Eye Cream$64 The Dupe: PAULA'S CHOICE - Clinical Ceramide-Enriched Firming Eye Cream $14 Vitamin C also gives your eyes a lift, especially when it comes to correcting dark circles... which is precisely the reason why the lightweight-yet-hydrating DRUNK ELEPHANT C-Tango™ Multivitamin Eye Cream is so popular. On the other hand, PAULAS CHOICE Ceramide-enriched Firming Eye Cream pumps up your peepers for more than half the price. This Paula's Choice product also has a lot going for it, as it blends brightening vitamin C with retinol and five ceramides, making it quite the eye cream multitasker. Also, Cassandra pointed out that they have a similar texture as well as feel. The Original: DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum$48 The Dupe: FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum$38 B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum contains sodium hyaluronate, a hyaluronic acid derivative, plus skin-brightening pineapple ceramides and vitamin B5 to lock in moisture. Similarly, lightweight and super absorbent, this First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum is a water-based gel packed with hyaluronic acid and soluble collagen for plumpness, plus allantoin, aloe, and colloidal oatmeal to further soothe irritated skin. Like Drunk Elephant, First Aid Beauty's products are 100% vegan, but opting for this same-sized serum will save you ten bucks. The Original:DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Cream$60 The Dupe: PAULA'S CHOICE - Omega+ Complex Moisturizer,$35 The key of these products is ceramides. Cassandra recommended PAULAS CHOICE Omega + Complex Moisturizer as Drunk Elephant's dupe. PAULAS CHOICE is almost identical – Down to the whipped, cloud-like texture! The velvety moisturizer highlights rich omega fatty acids to strengthen the barrier and fruit extracts to soothe the skin. It is an amazing way to end our nighttime routine! Cassandra personally likes this one WAY better, and it still has the same three ceramides that the DE one has at half the price. While Drunk Elephant is nothing short of a buzzworthy skincare brand, there's no denying that some of our favorite buys can take a lot of coin from that hard-earned paycheck once payday comes knocking. And for this reason, these best Drunk Elephant dupes climbing the ranks of cult-favorite products are worth trying at least once!
Review my routine!
Hello everyone, I am going to show you my routine every night, I hope you can read it and my thoughts will help you! remember each product works differently depending on your skin type. 〰️ 〰️ 〰️ 1️⃣ I start by washing my face with fresh - Soy Makeup Removing Face Wash I really enjoy using this cleanser, It is my favorite since it leaves my skin super clean and refreshing, it has a cucumber smell that I love. 〰️ 〰️ 2️⃣ my next step is to spray YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Soothe + Hydrate Activated Mist with Reishi + Ashwagandha , I use this once I get my face clean and let it dry, also this is wonderful as a last step in my skin care routine in case I do a chemical peel or an enzyme powder to exfoliate. 〰️ 〰️ 〰️ 3️⃣ my third step I only do it when I have dark spots ( thanks to my hormonal acne) on my skin, and I really like Kiehl's - Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution It feels super light, dries very quickly and I have noticed a difference in the area of my cheek where I have had dark spots. 〰️ 〰️ 〰️ 4️⃣ my fourth step is to apply my moisturizer GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturizer This is my favorite light weight moisturizer. It doesn’t feel heavy on the skin, it doesn’t freak out my oily T zone but still leaves my dry skin feeling nourished. 〰️ 〰️ 〰️ 5️⃣ don't forget to hydrate your lips 👄 so lastly I use LANEIGE - LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask Leaves my lips super hydrated, soft, I am so happy with this product, since I started using it the skin on my lips does not break like Before. if you got to last part, I hope it helps you some of my routine. 👏🏻 Thank you!

Post Accutane Night Time Skin Care Routine
While on accutane I had a very simple skincare routine to allow the medication to do its thing. I’m 7 months post Accutane, and my face is still pimple free. Yay! My skin care concerns at this time is discoloration/dark spots and minimal scarring on one of my cheeks. In this routine I am using the Fresh Soy cleanser to cleanse. It’s so important to make sure you’re thoroughly cleansing your face so that the remaining products can properly penetrate the skin. I use esthetician Nayamka Roberts-Smith (@LABeautyologist)’s 60 second rule when cleansing. Cleansing your face with your fingers for 60 sec allows the cleanser ingredients to do their job. This method helps to soften the skin & dissolve sebum blockages a lot better. I then follow up with applying a hydrating toner (Laniege Cream Skin toner and moisturizer) to my face with my hands. Then 2-3x a week I go in with the exfoliating serum ( The Ordinary’s Mandelic Acid 10% + HA serum) to minimize texture and uneven skin tone. Mandelic acid is gentle and works great on hyperpigmentation on people with deeper skin tones. To end it all off, I use the Kate Somerville recovery cream. HELP: STARTING A NEW ROUTINE?! 🤪
Hey all!! I’m newer to the skin scare space and looking for AM/PM routine suggestions. My skin is normal/combo and recently I’ve been having frequent dehydration which may be due to extra exercise in my daily routine. I’m looking for products to keep my skin CLEAN, HYDRATED, PROTECTED, PLUMP and GLOWY. I do have acne scars on my forehead, sides of my face, and chin. My most acne prone area is around my chin and it has been like this for the past few months- breakouts in that area every other day. I’ve been looking into the following products to help my skin: Cleanser: CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser Possible along with the CeraVe - Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skinfor my acne problem area hydration: PAULA'S CHOICE - Hyaluronic Acid Booster Or The Ordinary - Marine Hyaluronics Or DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum For hydration Evening skin tone: PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Niacinamide Boosterfor evening skin tone For additional serums/essences to make the skin appear more glowy/youthful I was thinking of trying: Krave - Great Barrier Relief Or TATCHA - Luminous Deep Hydration Firming Serum Exfoliation: PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator Moisturizer: Open to suggestions. Heard good things about CeraVe and Youth to the People The products I’m using now are Okay but I would like to step it up and have clear glowy skin without needing to use makeup :) I appreciate any suggestions/tips from more experienced skin care lovers 💖💖

First post - My Skincare Routine
Hello! This is my first post on Cherie. I’m a licensed esthetician and makeup artist who works at Sephora. I get to try so many products and I love to write reviews/educate people on different products, ingredients and build skincare routines for people! My favorite brands are Youth To The People, Drunk Elephant, Dr Jart+, Farmacy and CeraVe. So here’s my review of my skincare routine products and how they’ve helped me control my hormonal acne! (I am 23 years old with combination oily skin and I have dealt with acne for years). DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel Differin Gel is a fantastic over the counter retinoid available at many drugstores. It is highly effective at unclogging pores and turning over skin cells. This product causes a purge which will result in more acne at first but after about 8-12 weeks the purge will end and your acne will be reduced greatly. Differin gel helps reduce fine lines, large pores, uneven texture, hyperpigmentation and acne. I use it every other night (I use Drunk Elephant TLC serum on the nights I don’t use Differin), on clean, dry skin. I buy the 3 month supply and use a pea sized amount for application. I’ve tried Tretinoin from a dermatologist before but it was extremely irritating and I couldn’t stick to it. Differin gel is the best for sensitive, acne prone skin! FARMACY - Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm Farmacy has fantastic clean beauty products. My favorite is their Green Clean cleansing balm. It’s a soft green sorbet with a light lime scent. It melts in your hands and applies like an oil to emulsify makeup, sun screen and pollution, and washes off like a cleansing milk, leaving skin soft and never stripped. Papaya enzyme and moringa extract detoxify the skin and echinacea calms the skin down and acts as an antioxidant. Green clean is the perfect way to remove waterproof makeup and can be used as the first step in a double cleanse. I will continue repurchasing for life because other cleansing oils just don’t make my skin feel the way this does (I have the DHC Deep Cleansing Oil and I like it but it isn’t detoxifying like Green Clean). Highly recommend! YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser This cleanser has been a very pleasant surprise for me! I saw many rave reviews and decided to give it a go. The Youth To The People Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser has a light spinach/kale scent and foams up gently. It cleanses thoroughly without stripping the skin. I use a half a pump, not a full pump since this cleanser is a bit pricy. The entire Youth To The People line is high quality, highly effective and worth it. The brand is extremely ethical, LGTBQ+ and Black Lives Matter advocates, and completely vegan/cruelty free. They also use glass packaging and strive to be as sustainable/eco friendly as possible! (I don’t have a lot of space for these reviews but I will definitely post more in the near future!)

Review my routine for... redness 😚😚
My main skin concern is redness (maybe mild rosacea?) on my cheeks and t-zone. It always looks like I am blushing and makes my face feel hot, so it is something I am always trying to solve! The two main redness-reducing products I use are the Niacinamide and EUK 134. The rest of the products I have included here are those that are just gentle and soothing in general. Glossier. - Milky Jelly Cleanser : This cleanser is so gentle on my skin and never leaves my skin feeling tight. It is perfect for my sensitive skin. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% : I was recommended this product by @leena.tabajaand@jane_brownto help even my skin tone! After doing some research, I found out that this is great for getting rid of dark spots, soothing redness AND decongesting pores, so I was sold! I have been using this in combination with the EUK serum for 2-3 weeks, and it has honestly made a world of a difference. I use this product in the morning so that I can still use my Tatcha Violet-C serum at night. Apparently Niacinamide can negate the effects of Vitamin C, so they always need to be used at alternating times. Kate Somerville - Goat Milk Moisturizing Cream : This is a perfect lightweight moisturizer for summertime. It is gentle and gets the job done! COOLA - Full Spectrum 360° Sun Silk Drops Organic Face Sunscreen SPF 30 : Always have to have SPF as part of the routine! This is the one I am currently using. It is lightweight but does have a pretty strong sunscreen smell. But it definitely gets the job done. With sensitive skin like mine, you should always use SPF. TATCHA - Violet-C Brightening Serum 20% Vitamin C + 10% AHA : I use this product at night to help even out my skin tone and give my skin a boost of antioxidants. It is a bit overpriced. I definitely enjoy using it, but definitely won’t repurchase. PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator : Since I have sensitive skin, I need to use a very gentle exfoliant. This leave-on exfoliant always leaves my skin feeling soothed and not stripped. This is a holy grail product that I will purchase again and again! The Ordinary - EUK 134 0.1% : This serum has a long scientific explanation of why it works, but basically it is designed specifically to soothe redness! It feels more like an oil than a serum and burned the first couple of times I used it, but my skin got used to it fairly quickly. Like I mentioned above, I use this at night to go along with my Niacinamide. The two together are really soothing my redness, and these are the only products I have ever used that do. And since they are both by The Ordinary, they are both under $10. So… rate my routine!! 🤗🤗🤗

drunk elephant A-Passioni Retinol Cream: i would use this as a spot treatment, about every other day. Its my first time using retinol and it is a high concentration 1% which is why i decided to start of slowly. I’ve been using it for 3mo now and i’ve seen a difference. New pimple/redness would be gone overnight, and my hyperpigmentation has faded over time. It does take commitment when using this product. You won’t see results overnight. It is pricey, so if you have the money, i would recommend this product. drunk elephant T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night serum: i use this twice a week. I apply it on dry skin, as recommended. It does tingle but subsides after a few minutes. Overnight, i feel that my face is smooth like a baby’s butt. I was really surprised on how well this works. It has AHA/BHA mostly AHA which works on the skins surface and helps unglue the dead skin cells so you can expose the new layer of skin. You do need to follow with a sunscreen the morning after. All drunk elephant are pricey, but would recommend 100% Farmacy Green Clean cleansing balm: first time using a cleansing balm and works so much better at removing my waterproof mascara. A little goes a long way depending on how much makeup you wear. I dont use much, but i do use sunscreen everyday (i try my best) and double cleansing is a must! Laneige Cream Skin Toner & Moisturizer: i use this every morning, after washing my face with water only. I dont usually wash my face in the morning unless i workout or feel the need to. This product works as a two in one: toner & moisturizer. I do have combo/oily skin, and some may say its too greasy for oil skin, but at night i use harsh ingredients and i like to use this to restore my skin barrier and moisturize my skin as my night time routine can be drying.
