Curology vs The Ordinary! Which is better?!

Curology - Curology formula
This is the first photo! Did wonders for my skin it was the best it had ever been since I started getting acne in middle school. Curology literally saved my skin, it was clear and great! (Over a year later) The second photo:/ I decided to stop using curology around 2 months ago and start using ordinary products. I decided to do this because I wanted to see if the ordinary could do the same thing as curology and maybe make my skin even better. This wasn’t because curology was bad or anything It was just something I wanted to test. I was pretty confident in my skin so I didn’t think it would be bad. I saw on social media how great it was so I figured why not? ... After slowly introducing ordinary products into my skincare routine to ( i used both ordinary and curology products together) I could see that my skin was breaking out more when I introduced the ordinary products. I didn’t think much of it cause I knew that my skin was just purging from the new products. After about 2 months of using both curology and ordinary products I decided to just try ordinary products because my skin was breaking out a lot and I felt that the ordinary would help it. (I think should’ve stuck with curology but this was just my curiosity about the product). ... (Now) I am on week 6 of using all ordinary products and this is what my skin looks like (photo 2) and I’m not happy with the results:/The first couple weeks I knew I would be purging, my skin was at its worst a couple weeks ago (week 3). But I figured that by now or next week my skin would be clear( the only reason I felt that my skin would be pretty much clear by now or next week was because while using curology all my acne was gonna by week 7). So I’m still trying to figure out if I wanna continue to use the ordinary products for a couple more weeks before I give up because it’s not giving me the results I want. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
I don’t really know how to rate this because obviously it hasn’t worked for my skin very well but I’m not sure if it’s because my skin needs more time to adjust (it has been 6 weeks so...). I think that this product works great for some people but for me definitely not. Right from the start of using it, it broke me out and then once I only used this line of products it made my skin terrible. I also used The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution
Which didn’t do much in the 6weeks I used it. I did feel like it helped my acne a little. Overall I really did wish this line of products would help my acne and make my skin clear like curology but that wasn’t the case. This product line is definitely not for my skin. I’ll write out my skin care routine comparisons in my next post!

Curology?
Recently my skin hasn’t been great. I’ve been dealing with blackheads, large pores, and a little bit of acne. I have also noticed that for some reason my face has been more red than usual. I keep seeing advertisements for Curology, and their products have really good reviews. I’ve also seen a lot of before and after pictures of people using these products. The results seem to be amazing. Has anyone tried these products, and if so did they work for you? Would you recommend these products to me for my skin issues?

Products that helped my acne
I’ve struggled with acne since 7th grade (I’m 20 now). I have used a lot of products and there are a handful I want to share that have really helped me get closer to my clear skin goal. PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator this is by far the best product I’ve ever used. My skin looks smoother and my acne has subsided tremendously. I can’t get enough of this. (I use it twice a week, working up to three). I really do believe this product is essential for clearer skin! CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin this moisturizer has been my go to for about 5 years. It always keeps my skin hydrated and really helped when I was on acne prescriptions because my skin would always get really dry. Curology - Curology formula I have a whole post dedicated to this, but it really did help me a lot. I like having dermatologist prescriptions over other treatments. So, this was a great option for me and worked wonders! CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin I used to use the harshest face washed out there and strip my skin completely. This cleanser really helped me repair my moisture barrier and was gentle. My skin started looking really good after about 12 uses of this. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% this stuff is a miracle in a bottle!! My face is way less sensitive and my oils are under control. The redness from my acne subsides with the help of this product and I find it to help my acne heal and become smaller faster. Kate Somerville - EradiKate Acne Treatment this treatment really helped me when I had minimal breakouts. This dried out my pimples over night and helped them go away faster. This was a really nice treatment and I plan on using it again when my face is clearer and I no longer feel the need to continue curology!!

THE ORDINARY HAUL UPDATE
the products I have purchased have been amazing, I'm absolutely in love my morning routine now is cleanse with squalaneThe Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser apply TO The Ordinary - Amino Acids + B5 then moisturize with CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream and what I forgot to put in my first post, I finish off with sun bum - Face Lotion SPF 50 before my makeup evening, cleanse again, use the The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution(please don't use if you have sensitive skin) my skin is used to retinoids from previous attempts at fixing my skin, and this product leaves me feeling clean, but sensitive skin can have a very different reaction then I mix together The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5withThe Ordinary - 100% Niacinamide Powder it comes with a little scoop and I use the recommended 1/4 scoop mixed with the hyaluronic acid. then I use the same moisturizer Now let's talk about my thoughts! I love the cleanser, it leaves me smooth, not dry, not right, but I feel super clean like the days dirt is just gone which is fantastic. the purge process has definitely started, but I just use acne patches and the purge so far isn't that bad. mixing the niacinamide with hyaluronic has been fantastic for me! I never liked the niacinamide with zinc, the zinc irritated my skin and I would get these pustules along my jaw bone which haven't made an appearance since I switched, so it was definitely the zinc. the amino acid serum, this one I'm conflicted. it has helped in preventing breakouts while wearing makeup, but it's so watery I would've preferred if it came in a spray bottle for easier application. not sure if I'd repurchase the hyaluronic could probably do what it's been doing to my skin. and the toner! arguably the most controversial of these products. this has helped brighten my skin so far, and my pores look so much smaller! that's probably the hydrating products I've been using, but I also haven't gotten blackheads clogging said pores either so I think it's a bit of both! I'm curious to see how effective this routine will be during my more hormonal days, I will continue to update!

The Ordinary products for acne prone skin✨
Th Ordinary has been one of my favorite brands for some time now. I love trying new products from them knowing it won’t break the bank. I previously had a post about a few of their serums but I’ve tried to branch out since. Here’s my experience with a few new TO products as well as some of my all time favorites: The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution - such a versatile product! I’ve used it for my underarms as deodorant, sometimes my feet to get rid of dead skin cells, my butt for buttne and lastly, on my face as a gentle exfoliator! I love it for all of these uses and at under $9 for 8fl oz I think it’s an amazing deal! The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA - This moisturizer is okay. It’s too thick for my oily skin and leaves a matte finish, which isn’t something I particularly like. When my skin gets too dry I love using it because it instantly moisturizes but it’s more of a spot moisturizer for me than an all face one. The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution - absolute favorite! I’m on to my second bottle now. It definitely burns or stings sometimes no matter how many times you’ve used it but I’m okay with it since it does such a great job at exfoliating. I only keep it for up to 10 min and use it 1-2 times a week, mostly once now though since I don’t want to further dry my face. The Ordinary - Granactive Retinoid 2% in Squalane - this product did absolutely nothing for my face. I used it for a couple of months and my skin would refuse to absorb it, so it stayed pretty oily which I hated. I also saw no benefits to my under eye fine lines. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% - this is my third bottle of this serum and this time I opted for the 60ml one as opposed to the 30ml. I use it daily and once I got to figure out the exact amount my face needs, it’s been working wonders. My face feels brighter and smoother which is why I’ve continued repurchasing. The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% - purchased this product to help with hyperpigmentation and I am still to see any major differences. My skin feels better overall but I’m not sure whether it’s solely because of this product. It’s a non oily cream which is a plus for me, I’ll continue to use it until it’s done but not sure whether I’ll repurchase.

My acne holy grail
My acne holy grail
I’ve been using these for about a month or so and I LOVE them! I still have acne but it is significantly reduced and my acne hyperpigmentation has gone down quite noticeably. Curology - Curology formula Mine has 4% niacinamide, 1% clindamycin, and .25% zinc pyrithione. It did dry me out a little bit and I flaked a little on my cheeks. I did not purge which was great! I gave it 4 stars because I’ve only been using it for a little over 3 weeks and I feel it’s too soon to fully give it 5 stars considering I (understandably) still have acne. DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel This gave me significant drying and took a couple weeks to adjust to. But I noticed a difference in literal days!! I’ve been using it for almost 5 weeks now and love it! Also didn’t purge with it. And I’m giving it 4 stars for the same reason as curology. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% this is an incredible product!! I have such oily skin and this really controls it. The only reason it’s getting 4 stars is because if I miss even one day the oiliness comes back fast and hard. The only reason I skip it sometimes is if my skin is extra dry, but I’ve started just applying less on those days because otherwise I’ll wake up VERY oily. I only use it in the AM because my curology has niacinamide in it for the PM. The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution my absolute FAVE product ever. It stings a little bit but my skin was used to acids so I think that’s why it isn’t painful to me. I use it about every 10 days or so because I feel my skin is still adjusting to the differin and curology. I’ve had it for maybe 2 months now? And it’s made my hyperpigmentation much much lighter and smaller.

Love from yours + the ordinary glycolic acid💖

I start using this product a week ago and I feel and see the difference. I’m always searching for a good product my face is combination skin and so easy to break out, even sometimes water change or climate change can make my face breakout and it so upsetting me because I love travelling. So I use several innisfree products before and I only can use Bija series, but I cannot use the toner, i use bija toner in the night and next morning the red spots come and I feel the acne come out. I always looking for good toner, serum, and cream. I bought The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution and The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% but unlucky me, I can’t using the Niacinamide. The product make my face break out on the 3rd day of using this product So I see an ads in Instagram about this product, you have to take an assessment about you and your skin first. They have a whatsapp chat so you can consult about your problem with theirs first before you buy the product love from yours. - Day & Night Skincare Set So I bought this set with doubt ‘can this product suit me?’ 1st day: there is no significant difference but I feel my skin texture is better 2nd day: there is no irritation or acne problem And I using it for a week and I pleased with the result💖 I hope this review can help anyone with the same concern with me💖💖

I have always had trouble with an oily t-zone so a serum that promised to help and had other good things it was going to do for me?! I was IN! This serum didn’t disappoint. I have noticed the oily sheen greatly improved. For the first time ever I can almost say I have a matte finish to my face WITH a moisturizer and SPF. The only negative I have is that it almost does too good of a job. 10% is way overkill for this ingredient. If I try to use this more than a couple/few times a week my face has a tendency to feel dry and tight. This serum upon research is meant as a “booster” serum. It’s not necessarily meant for everyday use. But if you can tolerate it and love using it everyday then that’s great too. However, my skin really liked this no more than three times a week. A lot of people talk about the texture and yes it does leave a slight tack to your skin. However, I use this serum under a slightly heavier serum (I loved using this before L’Oréal’s Vitamin C serum... I actually noticed great results) that’s a bit creamy and the tackiness goes away completely and I’m left with soft skin again. My moisturizer also takes care of the slight stickiness if you don’t use another serum. Also while I’ve been using this the breakouts that I’ve gotten haven’t gotten as bad and cleared up quicker than usual. So I was really excited about that! #HyramApproved for all you Skincare By Hyram followers

Progress of clear skin using The ordinary
Progress of clear skin using The ordinary
Okay so first I wanted to explain the type of skin I have which is very sensitive skin. I have ezcema but I get oily in my t-zone. People say it’s better if you are sensitive to not use this product. Because it will irritate the skin. Been told It’s more efficient for combo or oily skin. Well it was hard for me to find a product since (( I have sensitive skin ))to get rid of my acne. So I decided to buy it and I have watched many people videos on YouTube but some don’t explain how to use these products throughly. I had to do some real research on how to use it. What products to use with it , to leave it on or wash off, do I use before or after? Those are the concerns I had that many people didn’t talk about but they did explain how many times out of the week and the benefits you gain from using it. I wanted to know the routine. So for those who have sensitive skin I would try it cause it may work for you. But I used all three product on separate days, mainly at night. I waited each 24 hours to see if I got a reaction. I put it small amount on my jaw line. So make sure you do that just to be cautious to your pretty face. There is a disclaimer YOUR SKIN WILL BE DRIED IF YOU DON’T USE A THICK MOSITURIZER . This is my routine for Tuesday and Thursday only at night : I washed my face with a cleanser, toner then I applied 4 drops of the aha peel leave for 5 minute and wash it off. Do not rub it when applying the aha . Just apply it with light stokes. After i put niacinamide over the aha peel add moisturizer and that is it. ( I use niacinamide 5 days out of the week) Saturday: Cleanser, toner, lactic acid, niacinamide and moisturizer. That’s it ! This is my 2nd week using the products and I see a huge difference! Thank you for reading my ted talk !
