Perfect Makeup Cream for Hydration
I like using this “Happy Hydration Cream” by e.l.f. Cosmetics. It helps moisturize your skin before you apply any makeup to your skin. I sometimes add this to my skincare regimen in the morning before I head to work for that extra boost of hydration. It does have CBD in its formula. It hasn’t given me any problems for the past month that I’ve been using it. It cost about $5 off of the e.l.f. Cosmetics website. It’s kind of small but all you really need is a quarter size for your entire face. e.l.f. - Happy Hydration Cream

_sapphire_sI love these cute elf moisturizers!! They are cheap and well formulated. And tbh CBD doesn’t do anything for some people, but for me it soothes irritation for me. I had a tub of CBD lotion for my legs too and it worked so awesome for skin irritation and redness

simplicity is key?
life can very easily get in the way sometimes. this can be so severe that, at least in my case, i end up sacrificing things like my skincare routine or other self care, thus making my skin worse and giving me ANOTHER reason to be stressed out. this being said, i’ve abandoned a lot of steps of my routines (which were sometimes 6 steps long!!) to help make my routine quicker and more manageable. am + pm i use these products in this order: cleanse: Milk MAKEUP - Vegan Milk Cleanser or THE inkey LIST - Salicylic Acid Acne + Pore Cleanser tone: THE inkey LIST - Glycolic Acid Exfoliating Toner (i use this every other night) serum/oil: e.l.f. - All the Feels Facial Oil eye cream: zero by skin academy (tried adding this as a new item multiple times but i give up typing it all in every time) moisturizer: e.l.f. - Happy Hydration Cream or Milk MAKEUP - Vegan Milk Moisturizer (i usually opt for the milk one at night as it is thicker and heavier) spot treatment: THE inkey LIST - Succinic Acid Acne Treatment (not pictured) sunscreen: live clean mineral face sunscreen SPF 45 #cheriecreator
SKIN HIT KIT - first impressions
e.l.f. - Skin Hit Kit for $26 CAD, elf sells a kit of many of their cannabis-infused skincare minis which i was so eager to try! after trying everything in the kit, i have some thoughts! e.l.f. - Puff Puff Primer this primer feels really nice on the skin and adds a nice additional layer of moisture. my makeup also sits very nicely on top of it. however, i haven’t noticed any additional benefits such as pore shrinking or adding to the overall finish of the skin (i.e. matte or dewy). this is a perfect travel-size item that i would definitely bring with me overnight (if there was anything to go right now) e.l.f. - All the Feels Facial Oil i really enjoy this facial oil. it is non-scented and it absorbs into the skin almost immediately. it leaves my skin feeling more supple and hydrated even hours after applying. i’m a huge fan and look forward to using the rest of this. e.l.f. - Calm Balm this lip balm is pretty standard but nice nonetheless. it has no flavour or scent which i like, and has a kind of oily/vaseline texture. to me this means it sort of feels like it’s sitting on top of the lips rather than penetrating them for optimal moisture, but in my experience so far it is definitely nourishing. e.l.f. - Happy Hydration Cream this is different from the holy hydration cream as it is more of a gel-texture, but delivers a similar boost of moisture to the skin. it feels slightly greasier if i’m being totally honest, but regardless i really like it! overall, the value of this set is great and i have almost exclusively positive things to say about all of the products inside. i will likely finish everything in this set, but will i repurchase any of them? we will have to wait to find out! thanks for reading!! #cheriecreator
✨Too Faced Pillow Cream
Too Faced - Hangover Pillow Cream Ultra-Nourishing Night Cream This is one of my favorite nighttime creams and i just cannot get over how good it smells! It smells very warm and comforting and it instantly makes me feel more relaxed! I originally bought this because I thought the packaging was ✨super cute✨ and I wanted to give it a try since I love this brand. I've been using it now for a few months and I probably use it 3 or 4 times a week. My favorite things about this night cream would definitely be the warm and relaxing scent, the thickness of it (I love super thick nighttime creams because they make my face feel so hydrated), and also the positive effects it has had on my skin! When I use this cream it makes my skin feel so relaxed and nourished over night and the next day when I was it off my skin is always soft and hydrated! I absolutely love this nighttime cream!💖

Ignorance is Bliss? Trying out a NEW Moisturizer
I recently went to CVS and bought the bliss - Drench & Quench Moisturizer I’ve had this moisturizer now for about 2 weeks now and I have some opinions. So far I give bliss - Drench & Quench Moisturizer . 4 Stars because it’s only been two weeks & i’m loving it so far but it’s still too early to give it a 5 stars. It’s suppose to be a cream to water product and it definitely seeps into the skin so seamlessly. My skin does look a little more bouncy and supple than my Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer( which is definitely still a banger) . I like it so far and i don’t need to use as much product either because of the formula. The price was comparable to the Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizeri got it at CVS for 21.99 ( the Neutrogena is 19.99) and bliss is 1.7oz and the Neutrogena is 1.7 oz as well. You guys should try it if you have dry skin, anything with water is your FRIEND and it really gotta help give your skin that moisture. Will you guys try it? Let me know below

Is this lux brand worth it?
~August Ipsy Item~ While found that H2O+ - Refreshing Gel Moisturizer was a pretty good product in general, I had to knock it down bc it still doesn't beat out my favorite product of all-time: Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer The consistency was cool and refreshing and can be used on all skin types BUT oily types. For combination skin friends, this is totally non-comedomic so you can still use this on your whole face but is better suited for those on the drier side. It absorbs well sometimes and othertimes it sits really greasy, depends on what serums I use before hand. I found that this really only felt nice when I used nothing except this gel after my face wash. For dry skin friends this would be way better than Neutrogena, however why spend when you can try bliss - Drench & Quench Moisturizer for a MUCH cheaper price. The only difference is bliss is a more creamy and less gel like. I also like that theres no BS fragrance in it. The sample wasn't quite enough for a good testing, in the few times I've used it the container is near empty. Despite it's merits, there's nothing about this that blew me away so I see no point in purchasing this product.

Mamonde Floral Hydro Cream 🌸
#MamondeGiftedMe their Floral Hydro Cream in exchange for my honest review. This cream retails for $32 for 1.69 oz of product and can be found at Ulta. 💕 Mamonde claims this gel type cream is lightweight and provides long lasting hydration. They claim it absorbs like a gel but has the moisturizing affects of a cream. I do find this to be true! I have oily yet dehydrated skin so I appreciated the texture a lot. It’s the perfect blend of a gel and a cream. It’s very lightweight and absorbed nicely into my skin without feeling too heavy. The thing that majorly turned me off was the scent. It smells heavily of florals. I know this is the narcissus bulb extract within the product (which is known to hold moisture) but I’m just not he hugest fan of fragrance in products. If it wasn’t as noticeable this would probably be a favorite product. A random tidbit I found out about the brand that I really appreciated is in order to protect and maintain the eco system they only pick buds, petals, and seeds that have already fallen. That way they are not taking away from the eco system. If you want to try this brand out (and don’t mind the floral scent) I think this is definitely worth trying. It definitely absorbs nicely and gives your skin hydration. For the very strong scent I can not recommend this normally.

Facial Flop! 👎🏼
This product was such a disappointment! I had heard people rave about the brand Kiehls so I opted to buy this mini cream at Sephora. Even as a mini, it was $22.00 so for me, that’s a solid investment into a product. Not only did this cream leave my skin feeling thirsty and dehydrated, it seemed to increase irregularities in texture I hadn’t had before and leave an overall uncomfortable residue. Overall, the worst facial cream I’ve ever used. Retails for $22.00 Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Cream

Do you like grape jelly?
This gel is super sticky, like a grape jelly. I really did feel like I was smearing jelly on my skin because this stuff does not soak in. Not being a sandwich, however, I wasn’t a fan. It sat on my skin and when I’d touch my face, I could feel the stickiness even hours later. I wasn’t too keen on trying to layer primer and makeup over this mucous layer I had developed (I am also not a frog). It fails in this respect as a day cream. It did, however, work well as a night cream simply because it takes 8 hours to fully soak in. I’d use it at night and wake up looking generally hydrated and bright, but surely not any better than a different product. The scent is subtle but fruity and nice. This is honestly one of the better aspects of it. The other products in this brand’s line seem like they would be similar: a banana cream and a blueberry cleanser for example. If you like smelling like the produce section at the Trader Joe’s I’m sure that would be nice. But for me, I’m not going to explore this brand further.

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
