Empties September- December 2020
These are some of my empties from the last few months. Here’s my quick review of them and whether I plan to repurchase: Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer
FIRST AID BEAUTY
5 in 1? Let’s see about that
This was my first time I trying a First Aid Beauty product, and I was curious if FIRST AID BEAUTY - 5 in 1 Eye Cream lived up to the promise of doing “5 in 1” things for your undereye area. It claims to: 1. Prevent/ reduce wrinkles 2. Improve radiance 3. Correct uneven skin tone 4. Nourish and moisturize 5. Combat free radicals I think the eye cream does a good at brightening my dark circles and overall smoothing things out. I’m not sure how well it will help things like wrinkles and the long term appearance of your undereye, beyond keeping it hydrated. Although, I don’t think it’s drastically different than a lot of similar priced eye creams on the market. Let me know if you’ve tried this eye cream and what your thoughts were! ✨ #cheriepartner
Thoughts on FAB 5 in 1 eye cream
My first post and it’s about a product I don’t like. Sorry to be negative right out of the gate! On that note, I do like other products from this line but just not this one. I’ve used it for the last month twice a day without results. Maybe this isn’t appropriate for aging skin and I will continue to look for my holy grail eye cream! ☹️FIRST AID BEAUTY - 5 in 1 Eye Cream
✨Moisturizers for oily/combo skin ✨
boscia Cactus Water Moisturizer (PR) This gel cream is amazing if you’re looking for a burst of hydration on the skin. It absorbs fast into the skin but still feels occlusive and moisturizing. I noticed that this makes my skin look really plump and smooth. It also has soothing and cooling effect on my skin so its great for those with sensitive or acne prone skin. Fresh Vitamin C Glow Moisturizer This has more of a cream texture but its pretty lightweight. This absorbs nicely into the skin and really helps make the skin look less dull. This does have a strong, fruity fragrance so I wouldn’t recommend this to those with sensitive or acne prone skin. I feel like this would be great moisturizer for oily skin during the winter or during your night routine. Vegreen 730 Daily Moisture Cream (PR) This also has a thicker cream texture, but I think it would work great for oily/combo skin since it doesn’t leave a very dewy finish and it absorbs pretty fast! This has a very simple ingredients list and is fragrance free so this would be great for sensitive/acne prone skin. Be plain Hyaluronic Aqua Moisturizer (PR) This one also feels like a burst of hydration, this is another gel-type cream that absorbs fast. Although it is fast absorbing it leaves the skin feeling supple and moisturized without leaving a dewy/oily finish. This is another fragrance free cream that I think would work great for sensitive/acne prone skin.
help! eye product to use with adapalene
I just finished my first week on Tactupump (prescribed adapalene and benzoyl peroxide). I've read different posts about how to start adding retin-A safely - pea sized amount over whole face, avoiding eyes and mouth, every other day, removed other actives, spf, etc. Overall I'm doing okay but just had a minor reaction with my favorite eye serum The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG applied after 4 days and instantly started burning and caused redness/flakiness under my brows. I applied aloe but stopped using the serum and haven't had a reaction since. AM routine: - Norwex gentle facial cloth wash with water - THAYERS - Rose Petal Facial Mist (want to replace but just using up the last bit as a base for serums) - SNP - PREP Peptaronic Toner - Osmosis Beauty - Rescue - Epidermal Repair Serum - CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream - Supergoop! - Play Everyday Lotion 50 Default Title or Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 if wearing makeup PM routine: - DHC - Deep Cleansing Oil - innisfree - Green Tea Hydrating Cleansing Foam - SNP - PREP Peptaronic Toner - boscia - Cactus Water Moisturizer soon to be replaced with LANEIGE - Water Bank Moisture Cream - Tactupump 0.1% adapalene and 2.5% benzoyl peroxide topical gel every other day - CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream plus The Ordinary - "B" Oil soon to be replaced with LANEIGE - Cica Sleeping Maskon Tactupump nights Any suggestions for a safer eye product I can swap in? I need the extra hydration around my eyes and have morning puffiness and dark circles.

Hello everybody who has hearted my posts to see my skin care journey (: This is what my skin has been looking like still using all of the same products! The only thing I’ve added is a jade roller just because it’s sooooo relaxing lol. I do have acne scars and rosacea, but I’ve noticed my rosacea is reduced when I treat my skin well. Now remember I’m also 9 months Preggo and haven’t been eating the best 😬 Guilty I know, but my skin is looking so much healthier and glowier! I don’t have perfect skin, but I do see a huge improvement from what I’ve dealt with in the past. First I still use the THE inkey LIST - Oat Cleansing Balm balm to remove my makeup. Oats are very calming for your skin and reduce redness so I love the way this feels when I double cleanse. Next I rinse that off well and go in with my LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser This stuff hasn’t broken me out once and I have very sensitive skin so I definitely recommend just trying it out for yourself. After I cleanse my skin I go in with my PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator as a toner. (Only use at night) This stuff is strong, but I find using it only at night helps more because I’m not adding so much to my face. This has helped reduce my pores and also clear some mild breakouts and redness on my face. Next I go in with my amazing oil I got of amazon Cos De BAHA - Azelaic Acid 10% Serum with Niacinamide Acne Scar Removal + Redness Relief Face Now this stuff is AMAZING. I apply this with the dropper every morning and night and it is a miracle worker!! I would rate this more than 5 stars. It helps calm your skin and also helps with breakouts, hyperpigmentation and so much more. After this step I use my Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer The reason I give it three stars is because it’s just your average basic moisturizer to me.. it works, but I’m sure there’s better moisturizers out there. For the price though it’s worth it if you want something easy. Next step after is always sunscreen in the morning! Never at night for me and I use GARNIER - Green Labs Pinea-C Brightening Serum Cream SPF 30 I only have been using this since December so I won’t give it five stars yet, but this is a good 3-1 face serum with spf! One thing I like is it doesn’t leave a white cast on me. Things I don’t like is how it has a lot of fragrance and it also can burn my eyes sometimes. If anyone has a better spf to try let me know (: That’s all I do for the morning and night time and then of course use my jade roller to feel relaxed. I do use my THE inkey LIST - Caffeine Eye Cream but I don’t see a difference on my under eyes. I’ll keep you all updated again soon ! ❤️
Update with the Process...
I'm going to be totally honest😔 I know it has only been a month with Apostrophe (and other recommended products by their derm) but so far I am not liking the outcomes. The first week I started off by putting the prescription on 3 nights a week. My face definitely got irritated the first night which led to my decision on limiting the usage. I started to use the prescription everyday by the 3rd week. Since then I have not felt like I've had any improvements on my acne. I am not giving up just yet, but I do hope to see some improvement at least by March. 🤞 🌼Apostrophe - Topical Formula 🌼CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion 🌼CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin 🌼CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser 🌼Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer

My Thoughts on LUXURY SKINCARE 💸✨ Worth it? p.1
First of all skincare that’s a luxury to me may not be a luxury to you. I honestly think that it’s not the product brand or claims that make it a luxury, but the science, thought and ingredients behind it. We all have our own budgets and limits on how much we’re willing to spend so with everything I say on this subject, take it with a grain of salt! Skin Ceuticals. This is probably my favorite skincare brand- there’s so much research and science behind each product. My favorites include: - SKINCEUTICALS - Hydrating B5 Gel a super lightweight, but extremely hydrating and skin-plumping serum full of Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin B5 - SKINCEUTICALS - C E Ferulic With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C Serum a potent anti-oxidant serum with Vitamins C & E, Ferulic Acid & L-Ascorbic Acid to help treat hyper-pigmentation and brighten the skin - SKINCEUTICALS - Retinol 0.3 a low percentage retinol for speeding up cell turnover without any irritation or overly drying the skin - SKINCEUTICALS - Physical Fusion Uv Defense SPF 50 a super thin serum formula with high SPF to protect your skin from the sun - no white cast! Drunk Elephant. Their products are expensive and get hyped up A LOT (which sometimes makes me not want to try them?), but I like that their products are usually centered around one main ingredient. I’ve tried: - DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum which is a nice glycolic serum that helps to smooth and exfoliate the skin but I’ve tried other glycolic products like ALPHA-H - Micro Super Scrub with 12% Glycolic Acid which I find more effective! - DRUNK ELEPHANT - D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Sunshine Drops just a bronze-colored serum but I don’t find anything too special about it or its ingredients. I fell for the “anti-pollution” claim- never again! Fresh. I love some and don’t love some. I like their whole “natural” approach but I find some of their formulas not effective on my skin at all. - fresh - Black Tea Kombucha Facial Treatment Essence I LOVE this facial treatment. I use it as an essence, as it contains Lactic Acid, to help gently brighten & smooth the skin. - fresh - Lotus Anti-Aging Night Moisturizer This is super moisturizing night cream that really plumps up my skin overnight so I wake up to glowy, bouncy skin! - fresh - Rose Deep Hydration Toner This is so disappointing compared to their Black Tea Facial Treatment. It does nothing to hydrate- just feels like overpriced rose water. - fresh - Rose & Hyaluronic Acid Deep Hydration Moisturizer I think the rose in the formula irritates my skin and turns it a little pink. I’ve just been using it as a body cream so I it doesn’t go to waste! Elemis- check out part 2!
Heritage Store Rosewater Facial Toner
HERITAGE STORE - Rosewater Facial Toner I tried using the Heritage Store Rosewater Facial Spray as a toner, and it was great until it got even colder and my skin got drier. I decided to try the Toner version of it and it’s definitely more moisturizing! I really like it so far. It had Hyaluronic acid in it for extra moisture and is alcohol and oil free. It also has Glycerin and Organic Aloe Vera. The directions say to use a cotton round but I just put it on my hands (carefully) and kind of just slap it on my face. I think this may be my go to toner for the winter time.
My 6 mo. skin journey after getting off Nuvaring
1 month UPDATE!! 3 new products added to my beauty routine! I just want to say using the cerave retinal serum was the holy grail. As well as the peeling solution and using SPF in the daytime. But all those products altogether have worked wonders on my skin Instructions oil cleansed with grape seed oil for up to 3 mins. Then removed with warm damp cloth (twice a week) Cleansed for 60 seconds with Cerave The ordinary peeling solution- 10mins only (twice a week) rose water toner rose water mask-20 mins (twice a week) rose water toner The ordinary argireline solution on problem areas Cerave serum paula’s choice exfoliate Cerave cream dermatology broad spectrum SPF 45 (am only) I tone after every step. 😍 Treat your scalp 😍
🧖♀️ Let’s talk 𝐒𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐩 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬! 🧖♀️ What are these products? This is Briogeo - Scalp Revival Charcoal + Coconut Oil Micro-exfoliating Scalp Scrub Shampooand Briogeo - Scalp Revival Stimulating Therapy Massager The shampoo: “This unique shampoo infuses Binchotan charcoal to draw impurities from the scalp and hair follicle to provide the foundation for optimal scalp health. Vegetable-derived micro-exfoliators remove dead skin cells and product build-up from the scalp to support a clean, balanced, and healthy scalp. A cooling blend of peppermint and spearmint oils reduces scalp itchiness and tea tree oil has anti-septic and healing properties that reduce scalp irritation and inflammation. Coconut Oil provides superior moisturization to the scalp to combat and prevent dryness and flakiness. Super-vitamin, panthenol, provides essential nutrients to strengthen the hair roots and shaft.” 𝐌𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬: First, I think most of us agree that scalp care IS skincare, so I really wanted to feature this product. I love the minty smell from the peppermint & spearmint, and using this is just a joy for all the senses (well...maybe not taste 😜). I love lightly scrubbing it into my scalp and then using the scalp massager for that extra oomph. This combo has been a huge help for my extra dry/flaky scalp that came with the cold weather. I will definitely repurchase! *𝐀 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞: Briogeo is a Black woman-owned business, which is something I’m thrilled to highlight. But I’m not only highlighting it because it’s February. Black-owned businesses need our support the other 11 months of the year as well. Keep this in mind - only promoting and posting about Black-owned brands in February does a disservice to everyone. Please remember to support no matter what the calendar says!!
Empties and Their Replacements 🖤🌈
Hey, friends!! I hope everyone’s month is off to a great start! New month, new product replacements. Here are my month’s empties and their replacements! 🙏🏻🤍 CAUDALIE - Limited Edition Beauty Elixir oh my did I LOVE this spray! The smell was fantastic, it was like having my face in a pile of rose petals. It truly made my skin feel fresh and wonderful! Most of the complaints say that since it has fragrance, it’s not good for your skin, but I find that to not be true for me. I don’t really have sensitive skin, it’s pretty normal, so honestly the fragrance doesn’t bother me at all. It made my pores look smaller, my skin glow, and it really has been helping me with my maskne. Just a few pumps into my mask like 30 minutes before I wear it and I noticed I haven’t had as many breakouts due to my mask. Unfortunately, this was a limited edition scent so even though this one was my favorite, I still like the brand and the benefits of the spray so I got the CAUDALIE - CAUDALIE Beauty Elixir in the original scent. It’s not as nice as the rose that’s why I docked it 1 star but it’s still pretty refreshing. Briogeo - Scalp Revival Charcoal + Coconut Oil Micro-exfoliating Scalp Scrub Shampoo best shampoo for dry scalp, hands down! Is smells great, it feels amazing, and it lathers so nicely, especially when I use my Briogeo - Scalp Revival Stimulating Therapy Massager with it! The only problem is I wish it came in a bigger size because it only lasted me about 2 and a half months and I only wash my hair twice a week. Murad - Oil and Pore Control Mattifier SPF45 PA++++ 50ml I got this in the small trial size and I absolutely loved it. The spf was creamy but didn’t leave any residue and it didn’t make my face peel like some spfs. I can also see a difference in my pore visibility and oil production when I use this product. 5/5⭐️ Now my last empty is Dove - Dry Spray Antiperspirant & Deodorant Rose Petals it’s not the rose petal smell but this was the closest I could find to my deodorant. I like that it’s a spray and I like the scent but I don’t like that it has aluminum. I love the dove brand and their bar soaps are perfect for my skin (coming soon to another post) however I’m looking for an all natural deodorant. Also this deodorant says 48 hour coverage but it doesn’t even last me the whole day so it’s a little frustrating. Anyone have a favorite natural deodorant or brand? Help a girl out 🙏🏻
Sunflower Sweets Serum by Ayele&Co
Oily skin needs oil too!! Just the right kind of oil ;) The Ayele&Co. - Sunflower sweets serum is a beautiful example of what an oil for oily and acne-prone skin should look and feel like! This oil-based serum is targeted towards those with acne or acne-prone skin and hyperpigmentation. Ayele&Co, a black-owned brand, really nailed it with this one! According to their website, the key ingredients are: Adansonia: contains vitamins A, D, E and F, which help to “rejuvenate damaged skin cells” and is rich in omega fatty acids, which we all know is vital to the health of our skin. Jojoba: is extremely similar to the natural sebum we produce, which makes it a wonderful supplement and is less likely to clog the pores of acneic skin. Vitamin E: a powerful antioxidant that “may be effective at reducing UV damage” and also prevents the oxidization of the oil. Tea Tree: has anti-inflammatory and anti microbial properties, which have been shown to be effective at treating acne. Full Ingredients List: Tripeptide‑5 , Vitamin E Oil, Tea Tree Oil, Jojoba Oil, Turmeric Oil Root, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange), Fetau Nyamplung Oil. **This product does include fragrance (orange oil), but the actual scent is not noticeable whatsoever! Overall, this oil has been an absolutely wonderful edition to my routine. Considering it includes jojoba and vitamin e, which tend to be a bit heavier, it’s one of the lightest oils I’ve used. I’ll even use a couple drops of this in the morning before sunscreen. It gives the most beautiful sheen that’s not too oily but makes you look like you’re glowing from within. I also truly think this has been an amazing supplement to my acne fighting routine; my skin hasn’t looked this healthy in awhile! Side note: if you’re sensitive at all to tea tree oil, I would still give this a try!! I couldn’t even smell a hint of fragrance or tea tree, which makes me assume there’s a pretty small amount. My skin is not irritated by this at all! They JUST restocked this bad boy, so if you’re interested, RUN. She sells out like crazy!!
Black owned skincare brands to support!✊🏻✊🏿
This company Is Called BLK + GRN www.blkgrn.com That’s features All black Artisans and small companies that is Chosen by a all black team! And they have very High Standards for the type of skincare products that they sell which is A plus for me! You can also find a lot of products I Mention on their Website! :First Product: Hyper Skin/ ($36) hyper - Hyper Clear Brightening Clearing Vitamin C Serum • This is A Vitamin C serum that Focuses on brightening, Hyper pigmentation and dark spots. It is Specifically Catered to Black people or People of color doesn’t mean you can’t use it if your not a person color! This can be used on anyone! And it’s a fragrance free Formula with a pretty good price point! Also if you don’t know, vitamin C can be really effective at getting rid of Hyper Pigmentation and dark spots within the skin. With Antioxidant benefits! I was very Surprised looking at this Formula. :Second Product: Chole + Chad ($28) chloe+chad - Unscented Face Seum This is fragrance free! And the ingredients are amazing the first ingredients are green tea oil, jojoba oil, and Argan oil! All really great ingredients that are hydrating and are going to restore the Moisture barrier of the skin while providing Antioxidants and Soothing protection. :Third Product: Inua ($28) inua - Organic Vitamin C Antioxidant Face Moisturizer This one was great because it was hard to find fragrance-free Moisturizers from black owned business. But this one has a great ingredient list with Aloe, Vitamin C, and Sunflower seed oil which is really good for hydrating and moisturizing the skin! As well as a bunch of berry extracts which give great Antioxidant protection! :Fourth Product: Hanahana ($15) hanahana beauty - Lemongrass Shea Body Butter Which features 100% Sustainably Sourced Shea butter and their actually very Vocal about how they paid 2x the rate of normal Shea butter to the Specific areas that source them. To make sure they are being fairly paid. They have Multiple Formulas that Have Essential oils but because it’s for the body and the skin is much more Resilient I don’t have a problem with it. :Fifth Product: Ayele And Co ($17) Ayele&Co. - Sunflower sweets serum This Product gives incredible results the before and after pictures feature when people use this product is insane! And well the Formula is really simple and it does have some fragrant Components. Honestly the before and after pictures are so remarkable that I honestly don’t care and I’m purchasing it anyways. As it’s a product that has a very good reputation. :Sixth Product: My Mary Louise ($24) Mary Louise COSMETICS - "Spill the Tea" Green Tea Facial Cleanser This one is a really good gentle cleanser Formulated with Green Tea, Glycerin, and white Willow bark extract which is going to be amazing for anyone who does have more oily or breakout prone skin.
Thank You, Cherie!❤️
Thank you so much Team Cherie for this wonderful gift! I am so excited to try and review all of these amazing products. Looking forward to for fun raffles, topics, and contests in the future! Cheers to making self care fun! ❤️
YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE-Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream with Ashwagandha + Reishi
Today’s mini haul!!
Today was a triple points day at Sephora so I bought minis of a lot of products I’ve been dying to try! I am the most excited about the YTTP minis kit for only $48!! it has their 5 bestselling products which i will be trying this week. I also bought some Fresh skincare products with claims to be gentle and hydrating, something I am always in search of, so we’ll see how it goes. What gorgeous packaging! I gotta take it easy with switching up my routine too much for my sensitive skin, but I’m looking forward to trying and reviewing everything! Which of these products have you used and love? PRODUCTS: OUAI Wave Spray OUAI Leave-in Conditioner YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE The Youth Minis Kit (Kale+Green Tea Spinach Vitamins Superfood Cleanser, Maqui+Acai Prickly Pear Goji Superberry Hydrate and Glow Oil, Superfood Air-whip Moisture Cream, AdaptogenDeep Moisture Cream, Superberry Hydrate+Glow Dream Mask) FRESH Rose Deep Hydration Facial Toner FRESH Sugar Strawberry Exfoliating Face Wash FRESH Rose Face Mask

Better than FRESH Rose MoisturiZing Cream?!
Can you imagine a product brand better than Fresh? They tout fresh, natural and nourishing ingredients. People LOVE the fresh - Rose & Hyaluronic Acid Deep Hydration Moisturizer . And I do too! It’s an awesome product that time releases moisturizers all night long, perfect for skin that needs a little extra oomph (like post peels). BUT... there IS something better. And it’s THE BODY DELI - Creme De La Rose This company is modeled after a smoothie bar and makes your product fresh to order. Which means it will only keep for ~6 months without refrigeration (because it isn’t packed with preservatives) but it’s so good you will use it everyday so it will be all gone by that time. It’s RAW, LiVE, ingredients packed with so many goodies that your skin will GLOW. Perfect for post microneedling session. I would recommend putting some in a small container in your bathroom and referigerating the rest (if you have a tendency to mix up your routine based on your skin care needs... so it will keep linger.) But to be honest, this is my HOLY GRAiL cream, it’s the only one I need. As for fresh - Rose & Hyaluronic Acid Deep Hydration Moisturizer it’s still good! And it does actually continue to release moisture over night. But you can tell that it is AS as fresh the body deli. Ironic right? It’s a bit cheaper, but to be honest, I am willing to splurge on the other for all the goodness it brings. Xoxo
THE BODY DELI-Creme De La Rose
Some friends that multitask in the shower ✨ 💧 glowhill beauty Pure Peel Hydrating Cream- I’m trying this thing where I apply masks about 15 minutes before showering, then do an in-shower face mask. I love it! Unscientifically speaking, something about the warm water and steam really refreshes masks that have texture or a thicker consistency. Glowhill’s cream mask has niacinamide, grape extract, apple extract, and other fruits that contain AHA-like enzymes for brightening. 💧 uberliss Hydrating Conditione - Green tea, lemon peel, keratin. The scent is a bit strong for me, but this conditioner gives me the results of a hair mask: smooth hair with high shine. I’m too lazy to use hair masks with any sort of regularity, so I prefer to rely on a strong conditioner. 💧 billie Sudsy Body Wash- Shea butter, grapefruit, aloe vera. I love how foamy this is; Billie claims that this is also creamy enough for shaving. I actually haven’t tried the Billie razors yet because it’s so cold right now that no one needs to see my legs.

Favorite Facial Sprays for Dry/Sensitive Skin
HERITAGE STORE - Rosewater Spray I found this on the Ulta app while I was looking for another brand they no longer carry. I am glad I tried it and it's a solid fave now! It's very refreshing and I looove the fragrance (it's a subtle rose and not too strong). VitaminSea.beauty - Sea Kale Green Tea Alcohol Free Facial Toner Mist This was the brand I was originally looking for that Ulta stopped selling 😒. I love this fragrance too as well as the benefits it provides my skin. I am a big fan of using facial sprays all day long! Whether it be to start my day; I like to mist before I moisturize and put on sunscreen, set my make-up, and as a refresher throughout the day. I have quite a few other brands/mists in rotation but these are my current faves!
