Keep those edges LAID | the best edge control
Lets talk edge control, all are not created equal and so finding a formula that works and lasts is a very personal journey. My edge control of choice is from Style Factor $10 at my beauty supply but priceless to me. (Also available on amazon) I have been through 2 jars of this edge control in 2 years when I style my baby hairs with this thing *whew* that’s it ! I suggest after styling your edges to tie them down with a satin scarf and only remove when you’re finished your getting ready process!! They stay for like a week if I take care of them . Its MAGIC ☝🏽😍 I usethe Cherry scented one but they have over 8 different scents you can choose from!
Self Destruction: A Self Portrait Series
Haven’t shared my Halloween Makeup on here for 2020 but here’s my fave series I did. I tend to nix and match between series and random posts through out the 31 days. This series is about my Self destructive habits and how I see those traits personified through makeup. 1. Red is Body Dysmorphia This version of Shantal has no solid clue what she looks like; how I feel about my face, body and hair fluctuates daily. Both of my jobs require a very serious evaluation of my physical form, there’s a constant pressure to look a certain way in order to stay in the “spotlight”. Girls from a young age are bludgeoned across the head with what the “ideal” beauty standard, body standard or even hair standard is and tactics on how to achieve them. All of these opinions on what you SHOULD look like blind you from what you DO look like then add them IG filters GIRLLLL! It makes it difficult then to know if you’re trying to better yourself for yourself or better yourself to be seen by others as more desirable. 2. Blue is Self Deprecation/Imposter Syndrome Who knows KNOWS ! IRL Shantal’s biggest demon to face is her tendency to diminish herself. The confidence you see on Instagram is but a show specifically curated to balance my self deprecating ways which often morph into Imposter Syndrome. My friends would let you know in a heartbeat that if it’s one thing they’d change about me it would be that 😭 I really am trying to get better at objectively viewing myself and really acknowledging my achievements instead of just pretending to and claiming the space I’m in as mine; I swear 🤞🏾 but it’s hard cause I’ve turned this demon into a personality trait. 🥵 3. Green is Envy Here I give you Shantal as a hating ass bitch🔪 Reality is Envy is a useless destructive state of being. I try hard to snap myself out of it whenever I feel myself slipping away into its depths but social media often makes that shit impossible. I have to challenge my brain to quit the “Why her/him?” Narrative and switch it to a healthier mindset of “How can I achieve my goals?” Do you experience any of these struggles? How do you cope? Squeaky Clean Scalp Treatments| Scalp Care
So let’s talk scalp treatments ! Keeping your scalp happy is the best way to keep your hair happy and healthy. Let’s talk about the benefits and my favourite product ! Benefits: Stimulates the scalp Help restores hair growth Can improve hair thickness Relieve stress and tension Method: I try to get a hair mask in like once every week but if I can’t I use the Briogeo - Scalp Revival Charcoal + Coconut Oil Micro-exfoliating Scalp Scrub Shampoo This is a serious game changer it smells like peppermint and has tiny exfoliating beads. 1. Coconut oil helps the scalp stay moisturized which helps to combat flaky or dry scalp. 2. Charcoal pulls impurities from the scalp to aid in the removal of product build ups 3. Peppermint oil eases scalp itchiness and just smells SO GOOOD I tend to apply this product straight to the scalp and work down to the end of my hair THEN most importantly MASSAGEEEE I like to massage my scalp with the treatment in for about 5 mins with my hands or scalp massager before washing out and moving in with conditioner.

Secure that Wig ! The Wig Fix
I think the trickiest things when it comes to wigs is how to secure them right? There’s so many different methods to achieve that your brain kinda does this 🤯 especially if you’re a beginner ! I use the wig fix from The Renatural to help hold my wig down when I don’t want to fuss with glues and just want yo throw on a wig for the day but still look flawless ! Its really been coming in handy with my halloween looks as well! You can wear it with both frontals and closures and they just launched a collection of skintone coloured bands to make that blend even more seamless. #The Renatural - The Wig fix[products]#[FiveStars]
Melt That Makeup! One Size Beauty
With all the crazy Halloween Makeup I’ve been wearing I needed a makeup remover that can penetrate layers of thick makeup and oil based face paints! I’ve been using this makeup melting mist and been LOVING it. Its seriously satisfying feel the mist and then watch the makeup literally melt off your face 😭 I remove the mist with generic makeup wipes because its the only way to remove it. I made the mistake of trying to wash it away with water and WHEW disaster. The mist leaves my skin feeling soft without feeling like theres a thick residue. I still wash my face with a cleanser afterwards though. I give this product a 10/10 ONE/SIZE - Go Off Makeup Dissolving Mist

Night Time Skin Care for Humid Weather
So I know everyone is gearing up for their winter skincare switch but I type this for the babes that are drenched in sweat day in and out! I type this for the babes who only know humidity 😭😭 My first step is always to double cleanse. I use an oil cleanser/cleansing balm followed by a gentle face wash. My tops have been fresh - Seaberry Skin Nutrition Cleansing Oil Mamonde - Micro Deep Cleansing Oil BANILA CO - Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Marble Edition fresh - Soy Face Cleanser Jumbo NEOGENLAB - Real Fresh Cleansing Stick Green Tea Now THIS is the important part! After cleansing I go in with my toners ! Yes you heard me plural Toners. First is the YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Kombucha + 11% AHA Exfoliation Power Toner this is just magic in a bottle I only use it at night and it leaves the skin with a visible glow. Second Toner is the FENTY SKIN - Fat Water Pore-Refining Toner Serum THIS is amazing. I’m usually skeptical of dual action skincare but this works so well on my normal skin. Whenever my skin feels dull I always reach for it. I follow those 2 with my LANEIGE - Water Bank Hydro Essence this is a life changer and an instant boost of lightweight hydration and allows any products following to soak even deeper into the skin. For the Eye cream I have been testing out the ERNO LASZLO - Erno Laszlo Multi-Task Eye Gel Cream and so far so good. I prefer to apply it with my fingers over the applicator that comes with the product. To finish off this hydration party I use the Allies of Skin - Mandelic Pigmentation Corrector Night Serum I suffer from dark under eyes and this serum is 100% necessary to make them less noticeable! I’m scared to run out; it’s that good. Do this routine and you are certain to be glowy in no time!

Lazy girl! These Nail Stickers Are a 10-Second Way to Make At-Home Nail
Nail art, when it's done right, can look amazing. But without the training or a steady hand, it's easy to slip up or stress yourself out when attempting a design solo. The good news? Nail stickers are here to help. Once reserved for kids in the playground, nail stickers have been given a serious glow-up—they're a quick and easy way to pull off a top-tier mani at home. The butterfly Nail Stickers, stickers on the nails, brush the topcoat, etc. 1 minute, was successful! I love pink and purple, so I mix and match with two colors, but you can also switch to other colors.
Autumn 🍂 Nail Idea matches you entire closet
Summer is almost over, and it's time to put your autumn nail art on the agenda again. But now, it would cost $60 for a basic single color manicures if you go with designs, price would double. If you want to change it every half a month, you are probably on a higher budget. I have seen a lot of tutorials about nail art on the Internet, some are too detailed and in pro level, some are rough. Lines and dots are the easiest DIY art to create as long as you have the right tools. Some easy to get tools are toothpicks to create dots, makeup sponges for marbling, and a thin eyeliner brush or flosser to create stripes. But you don’t necessarily need to have all these tools to create a fancy nails. One easy hack I found out is to check the dominant color of your closet and find a color series to create a nail look. In this coming Autumn, as the temperature drops, this hot chocolate nail hue will work a treat with cozy woolens and as a complement to brown leather boots. Always sumptuous and never dull, a milk choc mani is sure to shake up your style. You can go either elegant with cool white to bring out a timeless appeal; or go full jazz with a silver metallic bag or sequinned blazer. Being an understated shade, your white nails will look equally elegant at a business meeting or at the wedding. I like to combine with colors in warm tones. This milky brown series is a comeback color that’s not only sweet and adds a definite bite when coordinating with your lighter neutrals. I also like to add some gold glitter polish and gold foil to my nail look combined with nude and solid gold on other fingers. Dusty pink + warm white + milky chocolate is a perfect combo for this season and matches with everything in your closet whether you have porcelain hands, or tan or olive skin. Any skin tones can handle this well. With a little metallic element added, it brings the whole look to a upper level and delivers an iconic mani. .INC. - White Out Nail Polish RIMMEL - Glitter Low Coverage Nail Polish SINFULCOLOR - Sinful Colors Nude Nail Polish Collection
