Excited to start trying out Li
Excited to start trying out Liquid Gold by science-based indie skincare company stratiaskin ! I've never tried a moisturizer that is so brightly colored before! Liquid gold is designed to boost your skin's natural moisture barrier with proven ingredients like ceramides, cholesterol, fatty acids, and oils (the yellow color comes from two kinds of sea buckthorn oil). My skin's been feeling extra dehydrated lately so I'm hoping this will help it spring back!

I haven't been keeping up, but
I haven't been keeping up, but I do want to share this! This travel size freshbeauty seaberry facial oil has been a fall staple (for all of the week it hasn't been 90 degrees in SoCal). I really like it mixed into a lotion or cream for a little extra bit of moisturizing without adding heaviness. And I only need a drop or two so this 15ml size should last me for a while! I like to buy my facial oils in small bottles for freshness 😉. Also, it's a lot more affordable!

I've been thinking of writing
I've been thinking of writing a giant blog post on the various Vitamin C derivatives, as it seems I get asked about them a lot. Contrary to the acidic form of vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid), these gentler vitamin C formulations are shelf-stable and less likely to irritate your skin. You can apply them just like any other serum. Personally, I'm more likely to use them consistently as I find them more pleasant and elegant on the skin. I recently emptied the Dermapeutics Vital C because the ingredients list was fantastic. It is a sodium ascorbyl phosphate (SAP) serum, which I've heard has shown promise in treating acne. My skin has been super calm and healthy since I started using it. I just saw a whole bunch of these at my local tjmaxx for $7.99 so if you see them, know that they're worth trying! I'm going to be replacing the vital C with lumiderma's super C antioxidant serum, which contains another shelf-stable form of vitamin C, 3-O-ethyl ascorbic acid. Early tests of this form of vitamin C seem to show that it shows promise in reducing melanin (my stubborn sun spots) and increasing skin radiance

I have tried three of the king
I have tried three of the kingirls masks. In general I felt these were all high quality masks that were worth their higher price point. Truffle and Cocoa 3D Mask - this mask fit my face incibly well and is one of the only masks I've used where I feel every inch of my was in contact with the mask at all times. I loved how it even cove the underside of my chin. The essence of this mask tingled a bit uncomfortably so I only left it on for 20 minutes. felt moisturized but I didn't love this mask as much as the other two. Raspberry Mask - this was an ultra-thin "invisible" mask. My husband walked in on me while I had this on and he remarked (unsolicited) that it looked like a second , the fit was so good. I agree, this was an amazing fit and very clingy so it felt like it adhe super well with nary a wrinkle (my face is on the smaller-average side for reference). I loved the thin essence and this mask didn't dry out for over 30 min. My looked plumped and calm without any stickiness. Black Current and Vanilla Mask - this was a black mask that was a little thicker than the invisible raspberry mask. Again, amazing fit. I loved how the mouth hole was smaller so the mask fully cove my chin. The essence felt a little richer and plusher than the raspberry mask and my felt very moisturized, I actually forgot to put cream on that night and my didn't feel dry the next morning. I think this was my favorite of the three because of how nourishing it felt without stickiness.

Huxley products review. So far
Huxley products review. So far I've been really enjoying them. The huxley cleansing water is super effective yet moisturizing, and the cleansing gel is a gentle foaming cleanser that doesn't feel stripping.  These both have a rather strong scent but I actually really love how they smell. Kind of a fresh floral that smells like real flowers.

I try a lot of skincare produc
I try a lot of skincare products and I really like it when a brand stands out with a unique ingredient or brand story. That's why I was intrigued by jkosmmune and their focus on high quality beta-glucan in all their products. Beta-glucan is derived from a variety of grains and vegetables - in this case, jkosmmune derived theirs from mushrooms. It has historically been a rather expensive ingredient so I think it's awesome that JKosmunne has found a way to put higher concentrations of it in their products. It's an antioxidant, a moisturizer, speeds healing and supports the immune system. Research suggests it stimulates collagen production and smooths fine lines. And although it has a large molecular structure, it penetrates the skin between cells in the inter-cellular lipid matrix (I looked that up lol). I'm personally in love with the toner and serum so far. I've only been using them a week and a half but my skin feels bouncier and thicker in a good way, like more resilient and elastic. This, even though I've been exfoliating quite a bit lately. The toner and serum both feel super light and non-sticky and yet moisturize impressively well. I have to say that I've seen more results than with most other products I try. I'm a fan!
