taking advantage of quarantine to finally put together a grown-up skincare routine! i have oily skin and recurring acne, so i’m still trying to figure out how to curb breakouts. anybody else like these products? or have any other recommendations? 💕 • CLEANSERCeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser
this just feels good to put on. silky smooth, clean, refreshing. GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Cleanser & Waterproof Makeup Remover
i only use this when i’ve been wearing makeup, which hasn’t been much lately, but it does the trick. it’s also good for when i feel like double cleansing at night. • TONERTHAYERS - Witch Hazel Astringent
love this for helping minimize my pores. sometimes i swab it on mid-day if my skin is feeling extra oily. • ACNE TREATMENTNeutrogena - On-the-Spot Acne Treatment
i’ve been using this for a million years and it’s great for getting acne to disappear as quickly as possible. just an awesome little spot treatment. Clearasil - Rapid Rescue Deep Treatment Wash
this is a nighttime acne wash and it seems to work pretty well. it does have an intense chemical smell, which isn’t my favorite. • MOISTURIZERNeutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer
i love this stuff. my roommate thinks it’s an alien serum since it’s so pretty and blue. putting this on at night just makes my skin feel so hydrated and fancy. plus, it’s super light, which is a godsend for oily skin. Neutrogena - Facial Moisturizer
i put this on in the morning because i know i need some spf, but it still leaves me feeling oily even though there’s no oil in it! still hunting for an spf moisturizer that doesn’t smell so sunscreen-y and feel heavy in my skin.

LaurenOMalleyAck! You might want to drop the witch hazel... that stuff is very drying! Toner is very unnecessary in a skincare routine, and check out some exfoliants like Paulas Choice BHA 2% liquid. I love it!

Differin progress... is this a purge or what?
Sorry this is gross.. I know my skin isn’t pretty right now. Today marks the 4th week I’ve been on DIFFERIN - 0.1% Adapalene Acne Treatment Gel Pump and also my new birth control (yaz). I have literally never, EVER seen my skin this awful and angry. Should I stick it out until the and of 12 weeks? Does this look like a purge or just a flat out breakout?! I’m freaking out.. I don’t even want to go outside looking like this. I’m also using Cetaphil - Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream am and pm, and cleansing with CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser . Not looking to add any more products. Sometimes I use a hydrating toner. The dryness and peeling has subsided but the pimples do hurt, my cheeks are tender to the touch and sometimes itchy but that has gotten better over time also. Please help!!!!! EDIT: i just bought the DIFFERIN - Daily Deep Cleanser BPO 5%, Neutrogena - On-the-Spot Acne Treatmentand HERO COSMETICS - Mighty Patch Original for Madewellto hopefully combat the horrible breakouts pictured above. just praying it doesnt over dry my skin.

Things that helped me with acne 🪵
The Cosrx aha and bha toner helped me with exfoliating and letting products absorb better. The CeraVe Resurfacing Retinol helped with my hyperpigmentation and pores. My current favorite Differin Gel is helping me with my dark spots and acne. The Hero Cosmetics Lightning Wand is helping me fade my dark spots and hyperpigmentation. I have used the Netrogena Benzoyle Peroxide for so long and it’s helped me control my acne. And lastly The Inky List bha serum helped me with my black and white heads.

CERAVE HYDRATING GEL CLEANSER REVIEW! 💚
Hi! 👋 I am going to be talking about my overall experience with this cleanser from Cerave! CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser INFO: This is recommended for Normal to dry skin! Though, I would recommend it for all skin types. For reference, I have combination skin! I have areas of dry patches and oily areas on my skin! This cleanser can be found at Target, Ulta, Walmart, and Amazon! The cleanser is $14 USD for 12oz! They offer a trail size of 3oz which is great if you want to try it out! REVIEW: This was recommended by my dermatologist, when I had severe acne. My overall experience with this product is great, it left my skin hydrated after washing it off (does not strip the skin). This is a gel cleanser, so it does not foam (create bubbles). Some people say that the product did not cleanse their skin well enough or that it caused them to get breakouts. I use it also as a double cleanser, so I use it twice in a row to get off makeup. This didn’t happen to me, but just another reason to try the trial size! Highly recommend! thanks for reading! Comment your experience with this product! Follow me for more! :)

Hello everybody who has hearted my posts to see my skin care journey (: This is what my skin has been looking like still using all of the same products! The only thing I’ve added is a jade roller just because it’s sooooo relaxing lol. I do have acne scars and rosacea, but I’ve noticed my rosacea is reduced when I treat my skin well. Now remember I’m also 9 months Preggo and haven’t been eating the best 😬 Guilty I know, but my skin is looking so much healthier and glowier! I don’t have perfect skin, but I do see a huge improvement from what I’ve dealt with in the past. First I still use the THE inkey LIST - Oat Cleansing Balm balm to remove my makeup. Oats are very calming for your skin and reduce redness so I love the way this feels when I double cleanse. Next I rinse that off well and go in with my LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser This stuff hasn’t broken me out once and I have very sensitive skin so I definitely recommend just trying it out for yourself. After I cleanse my skin I go in with my PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator as a toner. (Only use at night) This stuff is strong, but I find using it only at night helps more because I’m not adding so much to my face. This has helped reduce my pores and also clear some mild breakouts and redness on my face. Next I go in with my amazing oil I got of amazon Cos De BAHA - Azelaic Acid 10% Serum with Niacinamide Acne Scar Removal + Redness Relief Face Now this stuff is AMAZING. I apply this with the dropper every morning and night and it is a miracle worker!! I would rate this more than 5 stars. It helps calm your skin and also helps with breakouts, hyperpigmentation and so much more. After this step I use my Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer The reason I give it three stars is because it’s just your average basic moisturizer to me.. it works, but I’m sure there’s better moisturizers out there. For the price though it’s worth it if you want something easy. Next step after is always sunscreen in the morning! Never at night for me and I use GARNIER - Green Labs Pinea-C Brightening Serum Cream SPF 30 I only have been using this since December so I won’t give it five stars yet, but this is a good 3-1 face serum with spf! One thing I like is it doesn’t leave a white cast on me. Things I don’t like is how it has a lot of fragrance and it also can burn my eyes sometimes. If anyone has a better spf to try let me know (: That’s all I do for the morning and night time and then of course use my jade roller to feel relaxed. I do use my THE inkey LIST - Caffeine Eye Cream but I don’t see a difference on my under eyes. I’ll keep you all updated again soon ! ❤️

Update with the Process...
I'm going to be totally honest😔 I know it has only been a month with Apostrophe (and other recommended products by their derm) but so far I am not liking the outcomes. The first week I started off by putting the prescription on 3 nights a week. My face definitely got irritated the first night which led to my decision on limiting the usage. I started to use the prescription everyday by the 3rd week. Since then I have not felt like I've had any improvements on my acne. I am not giving up just yet, but I do hope to see some improvement at least by March. 🤞 🌼Apostrophe - Topical Formula 🌼CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion 🌼CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin 🌼CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser 🌼Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer

learning to love baths?
trying to become a bath person this coming year! anyone have any tips? used this bargain bath bomb yesterday — super vivid color, no staining, very light chocolate scent. (also tagging some of the skincare stuff i’m using these days, but that routine needs an update...) what do you love about baths? what would you recommend to someone who wants to enjoy them more? 🛁

Breakouts? Purging? Gone for $4!
With college starting up again, it wasn’t just the workload that was a problem: I was breaking out from stress! But whenever I have a breakout, I use the Clearasil - Rapid Rescue Deep Treatment Wash But first, lets talk about Salicylic Acid: Salicylic acid is an acid that helps break down dirt and can clean the pores. Its pretty common in lots of skincare products now. This cleanser has a pretty high amount of salicylic acid in it= 2%. While it may not seem like much at first, it is one of the highest percentages of salicylic acid in a cleansers from what i had seen (for reference the Clinique Acne Cleanser <which I got a lot to say about that one, but ill save that for another post> has 1% of salicylic acid) This makes it a pretty strong cleanser, and therefore you should use with caution Salicylic acid might not be the best for sensitive skin, and this cleanser advises to avoid the eye area because the skin there is very delicate. Salicylic acid can be a bit drying, but a good moisturizer and a hydrating serum (like hyaluronic acid) can stop the dryness. If you use retinol, you definitely want to use a hyaluronic acid serum anyway. Salicylic Acid (along with glycolic acid, adapalene, and retinol, to name a few) may cause skin sensitivity, so be mindful of how many active products you use+ the times you use them and always wear a good sunscreen. If you want to try it, use it on a small bit of your face, and make sure you moisturize well! Btw: there is a bit of fragrance added in, but because the cleanser isnt on for long and not very noticeable, I dont personally mind. Cetearyl alcohol is in here too, but it’s not as drying and bad for skin than other types of alcohols (cough Clinique). Salicylic acid is a bit drying though, but even with dry skin, you can hydrate well. How I use this: I use a regular face soap to cleanse my skin, and on certain days where I notice I have a breakout, I’ll also do the Clearasil cleanser. A little goes a long way, and after massaging it in a little, I’ll actually leave it on. I only leave it on for a very short period, think a minute or two, and then wash it off. I had a skin purging recently on my face, and I used the cleanser on the area. After washing it off, I saw a big difference and the bumps weren’t as apparent. I used my moisturizer and used sunscreen during the day, and noticed that because of the cleanser, I wasn’t having as strong looking purging. I had some body acne on my shoulder, which this cleanser also got rid of, making it an option for people to use if they find this cleanser too strong for their faces! Overall, I would rate this because of how well it works. Its $4 which is really good, and it lasts a long time. I recommend this to people who want a quick way to control acne, as long as they use other products (like hydrating and sunscreen) with it!

3 products I’m LOVING this week!!
I thought I’d step on here and give my 3 fav products as of right now! First up, elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 I actually had this product recommended to me from my dermatologist! And... it’s amazing. I got the tinted version but there is a untinted one as well. At first I was nervous about the tint but actually really really like it! It blends well with my skin tone and adds a dewy light weight finish that I also look for in a product. I don’t wear foundation, but this almost feels like one. It adds a nice layer of light coverage! Lastly, it is really really good for your skin! As it says on the container, it has niacinamide and some other great ingredients so “calms and protects acne prone skin” Next we have, MAYBELLINE - Cheek Heat Gel-Cream Blush This has been a huge mainstay in my makeup routine! I love a good cream blush and this lives up to all my expectations. It’s dewy, bouncy, glowy, and has a beautiful pigment. I have in the shade “coral ember” which is a beachy coral! This product is great over makeup or alone, (I use it alone) I would say that a little goes a long way! And, this is a great dupe for Glossier. - Cloud Paint Seamless Cheek ColorOverall cheek heat is a really great product! Last but certainly not least... ESTĒE LAUDER - Gentle Eye Makeup Remover Now this actually isn’t a very popular product however it works wonders for me!! It is a very gentle but very effective eye makeup remover. (I use on the rest of my face too!) This removes even waterproof mascara which is good for me! Maybe I’ll do a post on my fav mascaras in the future 😉. For me, this is much better than GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Cleanser & Waterproof Makeup Remover which I found leaves my eyes oily and took out some of my lashes 😬. But with estee’s, I never woke up with leftover mascara in the morning so it is very very effective!! Thank you so so much for reading!! Let me know what you think of these product down below! 😁

I got an allergic reaction to my entire routine!
So 2 years ago I woke up with my entire face swollen, red and dry. I had nothing else on my body so it had to be due to something in my face skincare routine. After going to the doctor and getting a steroid shot, I was advised by the allergist to patch test all the products i was using. The result: I WAS ALLERGIC TO ALL OF THEM This was especially weird because I had been using some of these products for over 2 years, but apparently it’s called contact dermatitis. These were the products I used: LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel -this one was recommended to me by my dermatologist. I don’t know that it was anything specifically about this cleanser that made me have the reaction but it was just too strong for my sensitive skin THAYERS - Witch Hazel Astringent - my theory is that this caused my reaction, because I had only been using it for 2 days before I woke up looking like a monster lol. it's still weird that it made me sensitive to my other products as well. Now I know that witch hazel is extremely sensitizing and will never use it again. CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream - I don’t see anything wrong with this product in terms of ingredients, but i tried it again recently and got a similar reaction, so I guess it’s just not for me Now it’s been 2 years since all of this happened, and I was slowly able to build up a routine that isn’t sensitizing to my already sensitive skin (check out my last post to see it!) Let mw know if you have any questions/comments/feedback :)

Camping routine for acne prone skin 🏕
Camping routine for acne prone skin 🏕
Desperate times call for desperate measures. I really love camping, but the risk of breaking out is so much higher for me when I’m camping and don’t have access to my full routine. I did a bunch of research before my latest trip on the necessities and ways to cut corners in my routine without doing any damage to my skin. This routine was based off of three things objectives: It needed to keep my acne at bay. I wanted it be simple and use the smallest amount of water as possible (we had to ration our big jug of water). I wanted to use as many drugstore products as possible because they are the easiest to replace if something were to break / go missing. My products: BIODERMA - Sensibio H2O Soothing Micellar Cleansing Water- amazing product and it helped take off all my makeup at night time. I opted for this over a cleansing balm in an attempt to conserve water. Benzagel - Acne Washhttps://benzagel.ca/product/acne-wash/ - I used this morning and night to help reduce chances of getting acne. I typically only use this at night, but this weekend I used it in both routines because 1) I could only fit one face wash and 2) I was really stressed about getting acne from my simplified routine and the extra bad food and drinks that we were having all weekend. Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer(fragrance free version) - My love for this moisturizer is very pure. It was kept my skin moisturized all day and night and it’s so affordable. A great choice for weekend trips. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios 50 Mineral Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid SPF 50- I used this sunscreen on my face all weekend. It kept my skin dewy-looking and protected. It’s super lightweight and didn’t cause any break outs. Plus it’s a super travel-friendly (small) bottle. Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Water Gel Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30- Loved using this sunscreen for my body, because it kept me protected from a sunburn, melts so easily into the skin and it also felt like it helped keep skin a little moisturized. Especially when I’m travelling light, I like products like this because it feels a little bit like a two-in-one moisturizer and spf. I wouldn’t suggest depending on this long term as a lotion, but in a pinch, I think it does the job. Plus it’s so affordable. The results: Skin was definitely not in the best shape when I got home (I used an acid toner to help with some texture and a vitamin c to help brighten) but my biggest relief is I had no pimples!! 🎉

I’m very early in my journey of finding the right products for my skin and clearing my acne. I currently love theCeraVe - Skin Renewing Night Cream My skin can be angry with pimples and redness but by morning redness is minimum and dryness gone. I also love MARIO BADESCU - Mario Badescu Drying Lotion for treating active acne. This lotion seriously reduces the life and size of pimples overnight. All other products pictured above I’m still experimenting with and very open to suggestions for my combination, acne-prone, aging, dull and rough skin.

If You Have Acne-prone Skin, Give CeraVe A Go! 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼
I have combo-oily and acne-prone skin (oily in summer and dry in winter), so I focus more on skincare products that can help to repair the skin barrier and fight the annoying acne. 😫😫 I was recommended CeraVe products, which is said to be an excellent option for those that need help repairing a damaged moisture barrier. Here is my review of 3 products I've tried: CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion It's xcellent for all skin types, particularly dehydrated skin in need of barrier recover. It works well on hydration, and its not greasy at all! I can use it in the summer! I usually have three pumps to apply and massage to make it soaks into my face. I have to say that I didn't see a significant difference in brightening skin tone, but it's useful in treating acne and repairing skin. The fact that it has 4% niacinamide with glycerin, hyaluronic acid & 3 types of ceramides makes this holy grail status for me. But It may stings at first use, so build tolerance first. CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin This is a pretty light lotion and perfect for people who don’t like the tacky or sticky feelings of moisturizers. I love to use it in summer, and it absorbs very quickly. It doesn't sit on the skin, and the skin kind of drinks it in. My facial skin feels plumped and well-hydrated. This lotion contains ceramides that support hydration and protects overall skin wellness. I would highly recommend it to anyone on a budget as it’s inexpensive yet very effective. CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser The cleanser is a Life Saver when my skin breakouts and irritated. This cleanser has 3 essential ceramides that protect and build the skin barrier and helps retain moisture at the same time. They also help to protect the skin from environmental aggressors such as pollution and irritations, that can cause sensitivity, redness and dryness. Since I have combo-oily skin, I added it to my PM skincare routine and it can leave my face clean and soft. I'm beyond happy with this brand and will forever repurchase! Considering the effectiveness and prices, I would 10/10 recommend it to anyone having acne-prone skin like me!🥰🥰🥰

Product that helped ME with acne!
Product that helped ME with acne!
CeraVe - AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 This product worked miracles for my skin, and got rid of my pimples when nothing else was helping. I used this both morning and night as a moisturizer, and it helped me so much. You can find this on amazon, or many drugstores, and is pretty affordable for a sunscreen/moisturizer. ⚠️❗️PLEASE keep in mind that the products that work for me, may not work for everyone. Everyone’s skin is different, and I cannot promise you that this will work. :) Cetaphil - Daily Facial Cleanser This is the cleanser I use twice a day. I have oily skin, so the dryness that some people might feel when using this didn’t really effect me, but if you have dryer skin, I would recommend the: Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser or the CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser I really hope this helped anyone struggling with their skin!! Remember, acne doesn’t make you any less beautiful ♥️

*2 products that have saved my face*
*2 products that have saved my face*
there are so many face cleansers and moisturizers that make my face extremely dry or do not do anything to help. Cetaphil’s Gentle Skin Cleanser and Moisturizing Lotion have •SAVED MY FACE• Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser is for all skin types. It is a face and body wash but I only use it for my face. The face wash cleanses without any irritation; and it maintains the skin’s natural protective oils and natural pH to moisturize and soothe sensitive skin as it cleans. it is gentle enough for baby’s delicate skin. It has gotten rid of all if not all than 95% of pimples or annoying little areas that are on my face. mainly on my Fore-head and chin area (but it has helped all over my face.) It cleanses my face very well and makes my face soft and smooth. I do not regret this purchase. It was really worth the money. *MORE TO KNOW ABOUT Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser* ♥︎It can be used with or without water ♥︎With water: Apply to your skin - gently massage all over your face; then rinse. 🌸 ♥︎Without water: Apply to your skin - gently massage all over your face; and remove with a dry cloth. 💫 Cetaphil - Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion is a non-greasy, lightweight moisturizer. It helps hydrate and does an amazing job protecting your sensitive skin. It absorbs easily and fast and leaves your skin very soft. I have tried many face moisturizers that either made my face more dry, or gave me pimples. I have been using the two of these products for a couple of months now and all I have seen were amazing results. Highly recommended! *MORE TO KNOW ABOUT Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion* ♥︎Non-irritating-Non-comedogenic-Fragrance and paraben free. ♥︎Best applies after you are done bathing while your skin is still damp. ♥︎Protects skin for up to 48 hours 💗 ♥︎i would also highly recommend storing the Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion is a mini makeup/skincare fridge because it can/may get a little liquidy but NOT watery :) everyone’s skin is different so your skin may react different to these products. I do know that it is very good for sensitive skin. You can use these products even if you do not have sensitive skin!! ☺️

Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion
Cetaphil-Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion
Skin Concerns: sensitive skin
Skin Concerns: sensitive skin
Skin type: fair to light Skin issues: rosacea, eczema, dry skin and oily t-zones I’ve been suffering with rosacea, eczema for the last six years. If you don’t know much about rosacea it’s when your skin is red and causes visble blood vessels around the central part of your face, nose and cheeks. It also causes bumps that look like acne but are actually a form of rash that is itchy, irritating and can leave scars. If you get a flare up it can last for a week to months. The flare ups (redness, rashes) can be so bad you have to take a round of antibiotics for a month to calm it down😭. Flare ups of Redness and rosacea rash can come from eating certain foods that are spicy, sunlight exposure, alcohol 🍺 and various cosmetic products especially those that contain alcohol, Witch hazel, Menthol, Camphor, Peppermint, Eucalyptus oil, Fragrances, and Propylene glycol. Even though I have done a lot of research web trying to find out what ingredients cause flare ups it’s different for each person. So what I do is when I get a new product I test a small section of my face before i apply the product all over, to see if I have a reaction or not. Cetaphil cleanser is actually one of the products that my Dermatologist recommended for me. It says it’s for all skin types, on the back it even says for even the most sensitive skin. Unfortunately, knowing what I know now I look at the ingredients of products even if they are recommended for me by a dermatologist. Cetaphil contains alcohol which is horrible for people with dry skin or rosacea. I used Cetaphil cleanser for a few weeks I should have stopped after the first week. Being naïve I thought that the The dermatologist wouldn’t recommend a product if she didn’t believe in it and she also wouldn’t recommend something that cause me any more issues. It was one of the worse products I have tried. It felt like it stripped my face from all moisture, it caused dry patches and also caused a bad rosacea flare up.It was so bad I didn’t want to leave my house and putting on foundation or any product to cover it up just made it worse. I made my final appointment with that dermatologist and she then prescribe me doxycycline 100 milligrams twice a day, for a month. My face did clear up after a month of taking doxycycline, and I found a new dermatologist. I gave this product a 1/5 star because I feel like it’s very misleading and not meant for people with sensitive skin as it claims. I would not recommend Cetaphil for people with sensitive skin, dry skin or people with rosacea. If you are suffering with rosacea I would love to know some products that have worked for you.
