Protini Polypeptide Cream: Drunk 🐘 I finally finished this moisturizer and I always find myself reaching for this one, hence why I finished it! It takes me a while to finish moisturizers since I’m always trying new ones, but this one is my go to morning moisturizer. What it is: A protein moisturizer that combines an unprecedented array and concentration of actives for improvement in the appearance of skins tone, texture and firmness. My combo/oily skin loves this stuff. It keeps my oiliness at bay and makes my skin look dewy- not to the point where I look shiny. It gives me a nice glow whether I’m using foundation or not. The texture is lightweight and feels amazing when applying. I’m definitely going to repurchase soon! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

two empties: one hated, one beloved
Today I’ll be featuring two products from Drunk Elephant, Protini and Slaai. One of these didn’t work for me, and one did! I don’t personally like this brand, since they bully creators and customers on Instagram and refuse to take ownership that some products don’t work for everyone. But tons of people like them, so I thought I would review these two minis I used, both gifted by a friend. I have combo skin type, with acne prone, sensitive skin. I also have rosacea, so my skin is red much of the time. DRUNK ELEPHANT - Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser Honest to god, I hated this cleanser. I used it as a first cleanse in my pm routine to remove makeup (some waterproof), and spf (water/sweat resistant). Claims: “innovative cleansing balm that melts all traces of dirt, makeup, sunscreen, and even water-resistant formulas” Key ingredients: fruit blend of blueberry, kiwi, strawberry (moisturize), “African” oil blend of Marula, baobab, kalahari (protect and nurture) Not only did this not remove all my makeup, but it stung my eyes so badly and blurred my vision. My waterproof eyeliner and mascara was streaking all down my face, and I couldn’t remove it completely with Slaai without tugging or pulling my skin, which I was not about to do. It emulsified fairly well, but failed to do its job. The butter-like consistency could only be warmed up so much in my hand, because it formed clumps and wouldn’t break apart. After cleansing, it left a gross film behind on my skin like oil, and I didn’t not like how it felt. I cannot recommend this to y’all 💀 and if I could give it 0/5 stars I totally would! $34 for something not good haha! DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Moisturizer Ahh, a wonderful moisturizer. I use this in both my AM and PM routine, but I like it most in the AM. Claims: “a protein moisturizer that combines signal peptides, growth factors, amino acids, and Pygmy water lily to improve the look of skins tone, texture, and firmness” Key Ingredients: peptide complex (binds moisture to skin, plumps, firms), pigmy water lily (antioxidants, moisturizer, soothing), soybean folic acid (helps with elasticity, good for after sun) Overall, this is one of my top moisturizers. The price is ehh ($68) and I don’t want to spend it ever, so I don’t see myself repurchasing my full size when I empty it — it’s just not worth nearly $70. The texture is so pretty, lightweight but packs a punch of hydration and moisture retention. My skin always looks great when I use this — it’s a tall drink of water for my skin for sure. It somehow plumps my skin AND helps with my loss of elasticity. Gentle on my skin, and definitely enough hydration for my combo skin type. 4/5 (-1 for price). I had no side effects using this product! #CherieCreator

Recharge, Rehydrate, And Re-Plump With Polypeptides
Ingredients: Polypeptides Product: DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Moisturizer   I came across this product while browsing on a local skincare and makeup seller on Instagram. I trust the brand as Drunk Elephant has been raved by a lot of beauty and skincare influencers on social media, and I’ve watched tons of YouTube review videos saying that this brand’s skincare line has changed their skin.   I’ve always wanted to have something in my routine to have peptides and EGF in them. Peptides are small molecules of proteins, and if you’re a skincare addict like me, you’d know that our skin needs protein to maintain its elasticity and firmness. Elastic skin surface means our skin will be able to maintain its youthful glow. It assists our body in producing collagen and is very useful in fighting against aging.   I have a dry combination skin type that goes more on the dry side. Even if I live in a tropical environment, my skin needs proper hydration and care. Moisturizer is something I cannot not have in my routine. I’ve tried a number of variants- some worked, some didn’t. This cream, thankfully, works for my skin. It is lightweight in texture hence it’s ideal for the weather especially in summer. It’s rich in EGF (epidermal growth factor) so it really helps in regenerating new skin cells. I think that’s what is responsible for the smooth texture of my skin after using this for just a couple of times. I exfoliate chemically every day, and this helps me in keeping my skin hydrated.

One of my least favorite products
One of my least favorite products
To be blunt, I really disliked this moisturizer. This claimed to be a breakthrough protein moisturizer combines an unprecedented array and concentration of signal peptides, growth factors, supportive amino acids and pygmy waterlily for visible and immediate improvement in the appearance of skin’s tone, texture and firmness. Since it is a travel size, I’ll only focus on it’s moisturizing, texture, and firmness claims. Claims that did not hold true for me. I used this along with a hyaluronic acid serum and like how my skin felt. Then I wanted to see how it would be without the assistance of an HA serum. Whew! This left my skin very dry, tight, and very uncomfortable. I noticed the texture around my mouth, nose, and cheeks. This was not the moisturizer for me and I will steer very clear from it in the future.

Not For Me
Not For Me
This mini protini polypeptide cream comes in the Drunk Elephant littles set which I purchased early this summer. I had really high hopes for this moisturizer, but my skin just didn’t love it. It’s super lightweight and moisturizing, so I could see it working for some people. But unfortunately, itmade my face feel hot and like it was sweating. I know that this is a very popular moisturizer, and I’m not saying that it isn’t worth a try. I would just recommend trying the mini size before committing to the full size because it is pretty pricey at $68. DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Moisturizer

One of my favorite moisturizer I use is this one. It’s more light weight then their Lala Retro which make is perfect for summer time and to add more moisture to other products! Mix this with some B-Hydra or hydrating serum and makes it perfect for fall time too. It sinks in, doesn’t feel greasy or sit upon the skin. DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Moisturizer

PROTEIN MOISTURIZER??
PROTEIN MOISTURIZER??
for #texturetuesday, I wanted to showcase how beautiful #protini is! this is One of the few lotions I have seen that don’t form stiff peaks—I assume this is because of the polypeptide formula which keeps everything really smooth and silky. honestly, it just reminds me of an absolute dream! like a cloud ☁️ after I use it, my skin immediately feels stronger! I cant even describe how that happens, it’s soft and fortified after using this. DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Moisturizer the only reason it’s a 4/5 is because of the price point: personally, I wouldn’t be able to spend $68+tax on a moisturizer, because I have student loans hahah! have an amazing amazing day lovelies ☁️☁️☁️

Why the hype?
Why the hype?
Another drunk elephant product which I don’t understand the hype for. I’m not sure why but the two products I tried in the brand both didn’t suit me which is weird. Anyways the Protini Polypeptide Moisturizer was a part of Sephora free birthday gift last year and I gave it a try. I don’t find it extra ordinary, it just seems like a regular moisturizer to me. I don’t think I would spend $89 on a moisturizer which doesn’t give me extra ordinary results. I noticed whenever I would use this moisturizer in my routine my makeup wont stay well and it won’t be easy to blend either. So unfortunately this product is a total no for me after a few weeks of usage. DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Moisturizer
