Double Masking!?

Yep! Double masking is totally a thing! It’s kinda like using multiple leave on products to treat multiple concerns, but in the supercharged and extra pampering routine of masking. It can be super fun and helpful for your soon as long as it’s done to not harm the skin. A recent combination I have come up with is to do the The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution
followed by the SKINCEUTICALS - PHYTO CORRECTIVE MASK Calming Face Mask For Blotchy Skin
. This combo will resurface my skin and then calm and soothe the new skin that is revealed. By stripping away the dead stuff and then nourishing and hydrating the new stuff I am eliminating irritation and redness I usually get when I do the peel by itself. This combo also ensures that my skin will be revealed even healthier by immediately soothing it and hydrating it so that it can stay healthy and not potentially dry out and become dull. The peel is amazing as it truly tingles away all the built up texture and dead skin and diving into the pores to clear up blockages. The phyto mask is heavenly because it’s such a thick gel that soothes immediately. I could tell my skin was a little more sensitized this time I used the peel because the phyto mask stung a touch before feeling just cooling and calming. A match made in heaven if you ask me! So double masking can be great, but I would never suggest a combination such as a clay mask after the peel because you would be stripping the skin too much and opening up for potential strong irritation. I also have wouldn’t use a vitamin c mask with an exfoliation mask since that could lead to irritation as well. And further, a gel mask and then a sheet mask would just feel redundant! Double masking is lovely for a special event or a pamper evening like my once a week peel, but it’s not a necessity nor does it need to be often :) Happy masking!!

Must Have Skincare for Sensitive Skin
So I am declaring myself the queen of sensitive skin. I have had sensitive skin my whole life and I feel like it’s only gotten worse as I’ve gotten older because I also have rosacea and then there’s also the fact that...I’m getting older (😭😭😭). I have a lot of dryness and redness in my cheeks, around my nose, and some around my chin which is mostly related to hormones and all that fun stuff. I do also get hormonal breakouts and am just starting to get some minor fine lines. As I’ve learned more about skincare and tried many (so many) products over the years, these are some that have become staples for me! I try to be really careful with how often I add new products and make sure I fully read the ingredients to know if they’ll be good for my sensitive skin. • a good basic moisturizer (ideally containing ceramides) will go a long way; I mean basic in the sense that it doesn’t do a lot other than focus on hydrating + protecting your skin. I love the DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Cream • serums, serums, serums! They’re such a great way to add concentrated ingredients to your routine and boost all that goodness into your skin. I’ve been loving the Corpa Flora - Antidote HB5 Hydration and the 03 Redness Relief by the same brand - such a great duo for hydrating and soothing! • hyaluronic acid (like this one by Allies of Skin) is SO good for sensitive skin and adds a boost hydration back into your skin’s barrier Allies of Skin - Triple Hyaluronic Antioxidant Hydration Serum • vitamin c is literally amazing for everyone but if you have sensitive skin just be careful with the concentration + additives! This one is amaaazing SKINCEUTICALS - Serum 10 Aox+ and does such a great job of brightening + clearing my skin. • masks targeted to soothing, gently exfoliating, calming, etc. A couple of my favourites lately are the SKINCEUTICALS - PHYTO CORRECTIVE MASK Calming Face Mask For Blotchy Skin (tip - keep this one in the fridge, it feels SO GOOD) and the insta natural - Exfoliating Glycolic Mask - they’ve both made a big difference in my skin. • face mists are a must for me to keep my skin hydrated + refreshed! I find rose water mists are super soothing for my sensitive skin. What are your go-to products for sensitive skin?! #CheriePartner

Come On SkinCeuticals👎👎👎👎👎
I have normal skin but I use a gel mask every day, so today I'm going to share a few gel masks I dislike: SKINCEUTICALS - PHYTO CORRECTIVE MASK Calming Face Mask For Blotchy Skin and SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 Mask If you have looked at the ingredients and effects advertised, you'll see it contains olives and a high concentration of restorative and moisturizing ingredients which help reduce skin redness and skin sensitivity, among others. But in reality, it does nothing. The corrective mask didn't soothe my skin or reduce my skin redness, and it even irritated my skin. On the other hand, the Hydrating B5 mask dries up my skin and failed as a daily moisturizing face mask. At first, I thought it didn't work due to my normal skin condition but after trying it out again when I got sunburned, it still didn't show any result in soothing or reducing skin redness. It doesn't feel good on the face and is not absorbed at all! Besides, these two gel masks, especially the Hydrating B5 mask, are super hard to wash off. They just stick to my face like paint. Strongly not recommended.💢💢 How do you like SkinCeuticals? 😐

caudalie glycolic peel
caudalie glycolic peel
i’ve used this caudalie mask a few times now and I’ve been enjoying it as a weekly mini peel. It is formulated with glycolic acid that helps buff away dead skin cells, and reveal smoother, more glowy skin. It also includes an ingredient called “viniferine” which is supposedly a secret ingredient that helps brighten the skin and lighten dark spots up to 62 times more than vitamin c?¿ So, essentially this mask it’s basically designed to make your skin BRIGHT. After learning all of this about the mask, I can’t say I noticed a BIG difference in the brightness of my skin. I did however feel like my skin was smooth and more even in tone, and I was pleased with how it made my skin looked and felt. I think it is worth the money as it’s below $40 and the ingredients are pretty decent. The texture is a thick, cream like consistency that spreads easy and was easy to remove. I left it on for 10mins as directed, every time I used it and will continue to leave it for that long. I will continuing using this once a week and see if it helps brighten any more. So far though, I would recommend it to friends as I did like it. It didn’t give me any irritation/ breakouts either which is always nice, especially when working with acids. I rate it 4/5! A tale of 2 brightening masks
A tale of 2 brightening masks
If you’re anything like me, you’ve been doing a lot of masks during your time in social distancing / isolation / quarantine. I’ve definitely done some remote work with a sheet mask on my face, won’t even lie 😂 Today I wanted to talk about two masks that both claim to brighten skin and help lighten dark spots. This is my second tube of the The Ordinary - Salicylic Acid 2% Masque . I like it because it contains salicylic acid and charcoal to target texture, dark spots, and blemishes. It dries down quickly, but it doesn’t feel super tight or uncomfortable on my face like clay masks, and it washes off very easily—I don’t have to fight it. This is the mask I reach for when my skin is feeling congested and I want to deep clean my pores. I’ve even just used it on my jawline (my problem area where I tend to get breakouts) and not on the rest of my face. The SUMMER FRIDAYS - R + R Mask is a little newer to me; I won it in a giveaway recently. Honestly, I’m glad I didn’t pay $52 for this, and I never would. I’ll be honest: this mask looks and smells very boujie and fancy, but washing it off is a nightmare for me: I have to use a washcloth because it’s so thick and oily that I simply can’t get it off with just water and my hands. It also doesn’t fit neatly into my routine: the idea is that you wash it off and then pat the remaining oils into your skin, but I don’t want to have oils on my skin before my serums or other products that I tend to apply BEFORE my oils. This mask contains vitamin C and claims to brighten skin. I don’t know that I’ve used it enough to be able to judge whether it follows through on that claim, but I’ll just say I dislike the feel so much that I don’t really care whether it brightens or not—I have a vitamin C serum that I like anyway so this wouldn’t be necessary for me. In the end, I would recommend The Ordinary - Salicylic Acid 2% Masque any day because it’s a great affordable product that targets multiple concerns effectively. The SUMMER FRIDAYS - R + R Mask looks and smells very nice, but I think it’s overpriced and it doesn’t fit into my routine well at all.

Face mask options !!!!
Face mask options !!!!
The first mask is glow recipe: when using this mask I normally do it overnight. You can only do it for about 10 minutes as well. This mask is supposed to smooth and prefect your skin overnight. The ingredients are pillow proof and I can agree that they are and haven’t noticed anything on my pillow. This leaves my skin super soft and glowing in the morning! Rise off when you wake up. The Aztec Indian healing clay: I have really bad pores and sometimes they are noticeable, and it is one of my biggest insecurities. This mask wipes them literally away!!!! I wouldn’t say to use this mask if you have sensitive skin ( I have sensitive skin and I still use it and it works just fine for me) I do recommend trying because everyone’s skin is different and you don’t know what will work best for you until you try it. I mix this with apple cider vinegar and some parts water so it’s not that harsh. You will feel your face pulsate which is normal. When you take it off your face will be red which is also normal and will go away within a couple of minutes. The ordinary: I haven’t used this one that much but so far I do like it. It does sting for me pretty bad and I heard it’s normal. Make sure you put on sunscreen after this mask or it can darken up your dark spots even more. Overall, so far I like this mask and will keep you updated but sometimes the stinging sensation can be a little much. Overall, my go to mask is the Aztec healing clay just because I’ve never seen something make so much of a difference on my pores. Also when trying new skincare products be patient!!!! Results take time so give something’s a chance unless it is really bothering you skin. Listen to your body treat your skin right!!! Hope you guys are having a lovely day.

✨Nightly Routine✨
✨Nightly Routine✨
Hello everybody! I thought my first post should consist of my nightly routine. It’s so simple - I do this every night before bed. The Kylie Skin Foaming Face Cleanser feels very refreshing and it takes off all my makeup (I do not know how it does with waterproof mascara as I do not wear it). It is very gentle and the fragrance is very light! Next, I apply The Ordinary Glycolic Acid to my skin with a cotton round. This product has CHANGED the texture, size of pores, and my acne for the absolute better. When you first start to use it, it does sting slightly, but your skin adjusts very quick when you use it nightly. Next I use the Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum after I tone. This toner and serum combo changed my skin when I was having such trouble with acne and skin texture. I swear by them. Lastly, the new Drunk Elephant F-Balm is a great last step. I think it would be great for oily skin too because it doesn’t leave your skin feeling sticky/slimy when you wake up like other hydrating products. I hope this post helped in some sort of way and I suggest you try these products! Follow my account as I will keep reviewing tons of products!

F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial Mask
DRUNK ELEPHANT-F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial Mask
Review: Ren glycolic lactic ra
Review: Ren glycolic lactic radiance renewal mask . 🧡 This mask is filled to the top with fruit acids from passion fruit, lemon, grapes and pineapple, and there is also lactic acid and papaya enzyme from papaya for renewal, improving relief and softening acne spots, removing dead cells, and brighten complexion. . 🧡 It is intended for all skin types, except sensitive, and the manufacturer recommends applying it no more than 1 time per week. I use it few times a week with no negative reactions. . 🧡 Consistency is amazing, almost edible texture, gel-honey. And this “honey” smells like citrus jam (my baby boy ate it, haha). . 🧡 Effect: I put a mask on for 15-20 min. Immediately after application, it gives a feeling of relaxation, after a few minutes it begins to tingle a bit. But at the same time the skin does not redden or burn. After rinsing it off (I do it with a washcloth) the skin is smooth, even and radiant. . 🧡 It doesn’t cleanse pores very deeply (so I like to use in 3-step masking ritual as a first step before clay mask). It peels off my skin gently and carefully, this is especially evident with constant use - the skin becomes even and bright.
