When you have a foundation that doesn’t match...

So recently I was gifted the BECCA - Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector
and BECCA - Ultimate Coverage 24 Hour Foundation
from the brand to try out and review. It’s incredibly hard to try and colour match foundations through a screen, so when it arrived it was much to light for me..... so I had to do some work!! First off: the foundation is great for coverage. It’ll hide any imperfection you may have with a slightly thick layer on the skin. It’s thicker but still feels wearable. This foundation would be perfect for me if it just lasted longer. I spent a full day shopping and afterwards I noticed that it had separated and was pretty patchy. But omfg did it look perfect for at least 3-4 hours!! The primer is lovely, I used it under this foundation and under a couple others and it truly just brightens up the complexion. It’s incredibly serum like and watery and hydrated the skin fairly well, the glow was what made me want to continue to use it however! So now for the colour matching fiasco. I applied a tinted sunscreen to help darken my complexion slightly hoping it would mix with the foundation a little and it did help it look less white on my skin. I then went in with a powder that gives a slight coverage (Smashbox Hydrating powder) knowing it would darken the colour a bit too. And then I took my brush and swiped on a generous amount of my Milk Baked Bronzer and Werk Blush all over and not as precise as I normally would. Then I topped it off with BECCA - Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter
in champagne pop!!! Having these four products be the star instead of the foundation definitely disguised the product tong colour match and safe to say I loved the look!!!

Today's TJMaxx Haul!
Today I went to TJ Maxx looking for nothing in particular (you let that store tell you what you need) and I found these products! I'm so excited for my next evening off so I can try out the e.l.f. - Hydrating Bubble Mask! I tried it out on the back of my hand and man it looks fun!! I was intrigued by the BECCA - Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector. I really want to put it to the test and see how well it keeps my t-zone matte! Lastly, I found SEPHORA COLLECTION - Matte Perfection Full Coverage Foundation. I can't wait to try it out and see how I did on shade matching! All of these products have never been opened or used and in total, cost lest than $15 all together! I love shopping skincare and makeup on a budget!

PORELESS? MORE LIKE USELESS 🗑
I have oily skin and my pores are huge! I use 2 primers religiously: BECCA - Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector to help with oil control tarte - Timeless Smoothing Primer helps to blur the appearance of pores I ran out of my Tarte primer and didn’t have time to run to Sephora for another one so I walked to my local pharmacy to find a miracle. Instead I found the e.l.f. - Poreless Putty Primer which claimed to be poreless and even had the same color and similar packaging to the Tarte primer I use and it was only $8, so why not? Sometimes drugstore brands will try to dupe high end products and I thought this was one of those time but I was so wrong. I should have known with all of the oximorons there were listed on the packaging: - Poreless - Sheer - Hydrating - Grip - Smoothing The primer is a pink cream that basically disappears when you rub it in. It has no effect on the appearance of my pores. It does have squalene in it which helps hydrate the skin. I think this would probably be better for someone with dry skin. It is more of a moisturizer then anything else This was a miss for me. Ordered a new Tarte primer ASAP. #CheriePartner

Are you a holo fan?
I love a holographic shimmer, a color shift, a duochrome. I’m a sucker for them all. Just a collection of holographic inspired products ogx - Kandee Pop Glam Ultra-Hydrating Conditioner this and the shampoo that go with it are my favorite. They smell so sooooo good. And the scent stays. I actually hadn’t used regular shampoo/condition in a couple years but broke my routine just for this scent. Now I’m hooked. It’s great for coaxing a wave out too. KVD VEGAN BEAUTY - Alchemist Holographic Palette eh. Pretty and fun. You aren’t wearing it everyday so who cares beyond that. It’s cool as hell. LUSH - Groovy Kind Of Love Bath Bomb I could go broke buying all the Lush bath bombs. This one is no exception. Smells amazing. The color can sometimes stain your skin though, it’s hit or miss. GLAMGLOW - Glowstarter Mega Illuminating Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizer this is one of those products that I can’t ever tell if I love it or hate it. It smells good. Has a good texture. Sometimes I’ll wear instead of moisturizer and I feel like a shimmery oil slick. I think it’s better dabbed on dry spots. I have it in Nude Glow Rare Beauty - Always an Optimist Illuminating Primer URBAN DECAY - URBAN DECAY Single Eyeshadow I would buy every dang duo chrome color Urban Decay made I love these so much! These 2 are Tonic and Lounge. BECCA - Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter I use this alllllll the time as a highlight for the inner corner of my eyes or to give my lips an extra pop. It’s way too shimmery for all over though. #Doll Face Beauty - hologram prismatic lip gloss[products]#[FourStars] perfect holographic color. Sheer shimmery blue. A little sticky and doesn’t last long.

Another Marshall’s Haul
Before the snow hit in the north east, I had to hit up Marshall’s so I had some new products to play with. This shopping trip I found makeup products from Becca and Milk to try out. As with any trip to Marshall’s it’s hit or miss with products and shade ranges, so I know this foundation is a bit too light, but the undertone was right. There were also a few other things I wanted, but their packaging was open and the products were clearly touched. So let’s dive in to what I used for this look (3rd pic, I don’t use any filters/beauty mode). Milk MAKEUP - Blur Stick I like the powdery finish it leaves on my skin. I’ll have to use it a few more times before I decide how much I like it. BECCA - Ultimate Coverage 24 Hour Foundation I’m generally not a fan of full coverage foundation. But this does not feel heavy or caking on my skin (yes, it’s a shade too light). I applied it pretty lightly, but you can easily build this up to you preferred coverage level. BECCA - Limited Edition Hydra-Mist Set & Refresh Powder I was pleasantly surprised by this powder. I usually only use powder lightly under my eyes o set my concealer, but this was so light that I used it all over my face. It did not settle into my fine lines or make me look dry (aging skin). I applied with a velour puff and used a fluffy brush to remove the excess. Milk MAKEUP - Lip + Cheek I’m a big fan of cream products and the fact that this does double duty, lips and cheeks, makes it a winner in my book. Milk MAKEUP - Kush Waterproof Mascara I’ve been dying to try this mascara (if you’ve read any of my previous posts, you know I’m on an unending hunt for the perfect mascara). But I couldn’t justify the price tag if it was just going to end up in the “meh” pile of mascaras I already have. It gave a great first impression, but I’ll have to use it a few more times before I decide to invest in a full sized tube. For under $40, I got to try some high end products that are usually out of my budget. I love Marshall’s for exactly this reason! What is your favorite Marshall’s find?

I would let you know my must h
I would let you know my must haves from all of my foundations. I’ll list them in order of most favourite. Is there any foundations you can recommend I try next? I’m always on my mission to find more. ♥️ maccosmetics - Studio Fix Fluid - NC10. ♥️ lamer - The Foundation - Porcelain. ♥️ laprairie - Skin Caviar Concealer Foundation - Tendor Ivory (needs to be mixed with white to lighten). ♥️ ysl - All Hours Foundation - N10. ♥️ hudabeauty - Faux Filter Foundation - Angelfood. ♥️ lancome - Teint Idole Ultrawear - 008. ♥️ byterry - Terrybly Densiliss - 02. ♥️ illamasqua - Skinbase Foundation - 001 White. One that I really have up on my list is the La Mer Cushion Foundation but the shade range is different to The Foundation. lamer can you help me find the right shade without going to a counter? The La Prairie would have hands down been the best foundation ever but it’s a good 2 shades darker than my skin tone in the lightest colour so unfortunately it needs mixed with other products to make it work which changes the consistency and how long it lasts which is sad. Another foundation I like to mix with this is the Fenty Foubdation in shade 100 because it’s too light and too matte for me.

New cover girl skin milk review
New cover girl skin milk review
Price: $8.97 CAD Shade: light I bought this due to the overwhelming hype across various YouTube influencers. I was super happy to hear that cover girl has started taking steps towards clean beauty. The shade was a perfect match and gave an overall luminosity to my skin. The only problem I have with this foundation however is the consistency. As noted by a couple of youtubers this product contains some chunks which I assume are due to a manufacturing defect. This defect is the only thing that holds me back from rating it 4/5 stars.

This foundation is great! It’s perfect for winter/dryer seasons because it’s hydrating and also has a nice amount of coverage. It’s definitely worth trying! The texture is pretty thick and smooth but blends out to look natural and even on the skin tone! laura mercier - Creme Smooth Foundation

Clean, Vegan, AND from the Drugstore?!
Clean, Vegan, AND from the Drugstore?!
I picked these two products up at Shoppers Drugmart here in Canada when I randomly stumbled upon the new display. The foundation is a shade too light for me and has a slightly odd scent but overall I do like it. It has good coverage but leaves the skin looking hydrated. The lip oil is quite hydrating and sinks into the lips leaving a good colour payoff. And it smells so good...like candy!🍭

This foundation BLEW me away!! I will be honest I had low expectation for the e.l.f. - Flawless Finish Foundation due time its $6 price point. Man was I wrong! It’s lightweight and very buildable. It just melted into my skin and I was absolutely shocked with how much I love it. Wore it all day out in the Texas heat and it never creased, never for oily, seriously I could go on and on about how much I love this foundation.

| PAT McGRATH LABS - Skin Fetish: Sublime Foundation | $68 🥴 So das esspensive. I know, but man oh MAN does this make my skin look so good 😥 Claims: long wearing foundation (yes), that builds from sheer to medium coverage (yes) I NEVER have to wear a glowy primer, mist, or highlighter when wearing this foundation because it literally makes my skin RADIATE. It makes me look so fresh, so awake, and so incredibly HEALTHY. This also doesn’t oxidize on my skin 🥰 I would recommend this to EVERYONE and would save up every single buck to re-purchase this baby (which is why i rated 4/5 bc let’s be honest yo - dats a lot of coin).
