How do I Best protect my skin from UV damage?
Okay, so we know that UV rays from the sun can damage and age our skin, so what do we do? We wear SPF! This one from Skinceuticals is my new favourite. It’s incredibly lightweight, non greasy, finishes without a white cast and has ample amount of mineral (better for the skin and environment) coverage. So we need to wear this everyday. Yes, even when it’s cloudy, or raining or wintertime! That sun will still get ya and you’ll get wrinkles and age spots. We know to wear SPF everyday now. So how can we improve this protection even more? In comes VITAMIN C!! This vitamin when used topically is a power antioxidant that fights off oxidative stress and damage from free radicals. It also brightens, lightens and tightens, so it’s a superstar. Basically these together work to protect your skin from the sun because of their ability to fight those free radicals and UV says from our most loved and hated sun. The C E Ferulic serum from Skinceuticals is the golden serum since it’s effectiveness is unlike any other. It’s L Ascorbic acid, vitamin e and ferulic acid which are all antioxidants to fight against aging and dull akin. This serum stinks, but it works so beautifully and has a cult status for a reason. Currently my main concern is that I have hyperpigmentation from post acne, so protecting my skin from further damage is ESSENTIAL!! I have dry skin too so I need to be careful i don’t dry it out, but these two work really well with my other hydrating products. SPF and vitamin c can fit into any morning routine easily. Luckily I discovered Skinceuticals after I received the best PR package from them and now I’m hooked!! I have been using the hydrating B5 serum SKINCEUTICALS - Hydrating B5 Gel

drunk elephant review with fungal acne🐘💗
as someone with fungal acne, buying the same products can be reaaallyyy boring. so this is my review of drunk elephant as someone with fungal acne!! * disclaimer, NONE of these products are fungal acne safe!! use at your own risk * DRUNK ELEPHANT - Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser this cleansing balm doesn’t really emulsify when you activate it with water, leaving a really oily feeling😕 and doesn’t remove all my makeup DRUNK ELEPHANT - Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser Deluxe Sample this is a really nice gentle foaming cleanser... and thats pretty much it. DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum i love this serum! its a lovely gel serum that absorbs in quickly and is greak at oil control DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum this serum is a little tricky, i haven’t really noticed a difference in my skin in terms if brightness, i do have a bit of dark spots and they haven’t budged. not to mention this formulation is a rip off of the SKINCEUTICALS - C E Ferulic With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C Serum DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Cream this is a thicc moisturizer that surprisingly doesn’t leave my oily skin looking greasy af. its a good moisturizer for dry combo skin! DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream this moisturizer feels exactly like the lala retro... its just 8 dollars more expensive DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial Mask this mask burns so bad the first 20 seconds but then it settles down. i really havent seen a difference in my skin so DRUNK ELEPHANT - Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil ive only used this oil a few times but wow it really makes your skin feel super soft and dewy DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lippe Balm DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lippe Balm i love this lip balm but its 16 dollars and the claim are completely false! in conclusion, i wont be repurchasing anymore of drunk elephant products because in reality they are just good products... nothing too special ESPECIALLY for the price. they aslo didn’t want to provide information about the percentage of black employees during the Pull Up Or Shut Up movement so yeah. their aesthetic is cute but ive grown out of this phase 😀 like and save!! xo melanie
Too much money!
Just finished the SKINCEUTICALS - C E Ferulic With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C Serum and LOVED IT but it breaks the bank...wish I could afford $166 every few months for this. I think my plan is I’m going to try a couple other products and see if they are just as good or if I’m going to have to make the sacrifice in the end. So I’m going to try MAELOVE - Glow Makerand see how this Vitamin C works and it only cost $27.95! I heard about this one from@Dr.Tomassianand I am very excited to try this one! I’ll let you guys know if I can see a difference when the bottle is done.

The Best Serums I’ve Ever Tried 💖✨ so worth it!
In my opinion, serums are what make my skincare so effective. Usually serums contain active ingredients to help resolve and treat any type of concerns. I’ve tried so many serums, and here are my favorites! These are the products that I will forever repurchase because I can’t live without them: THE inkey LIST - Tranexamic Acid Hyperpigmentation Treatment I got a customized serum from The Inkey List when they first arrived at Sephora (in Spring). The main active ingredient in the serum is Tranexamic Acid. It’s an ingredient I’ve only recently started noticing in skincare products and I predict that it will become one of the next “it” ingredients! It first of all helps to calm the skin and restore the skin barrier. It’s also a powerful anti-inflammatory ingredient that also prevents the transfer of pigment in the skin. In other words, this will help to calm any pf my breakouts, and also prevent scarring and discoloration from breakouts. This has done wonders for keeping my skin looking clear even with the breakouts I get around the time of the month, stress, wtc. Even if I get a breakout, the scars fade quickly. SKINCEUTICALS - Hydrating B5 Gel This first serum I put on every day and night. This serum is mainly Hyaluronic Acid which helps to plump the skin full of hydration, in turn also reducing the appearance of fine lines and winkles. Putting this serum on as a first step also allows for the products you apply afterwards to penetrate deeper into the skin. SKINCEUTICALS - C E Ferulic With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C Serum This serum contains 15% pure Vitamin C, 1% Vitamin E, and 0.5% Ferulic Acid. It’s full of powerful antioxidants and enhanced with ferulic acid to boost the effectiveness of the formula. I wear this every morning after my Hyaluronic Acid Serum and always follow up with a moisturizer and sunscreen. I’ve noticed a brighter complexion and acne scars fading quicker. DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum Do you ever get little bumps on your skin from congestion that aren’t whiteheads or blackheads? This is the perfect product to try. Glycolic Acid is a powerful exfoliating acid that helps to get rid of dead skin cells on the surface of your skin and deep into the layers of skin too. It’s super effective but quite strong so I would recommend using it only 2-3 times a week. I’ve seen much smoother skin and definitely a decrease in breakouts since using this.
Hyaluronic Acid 💦
It’s a major favourite for dry and oily skinned babes alike! Half of the HA in your body is present in your skin and it binds to water to help retain its moisture levels. Did you know it can hold up to 1000 times it weight in water!? HA, when topically applied, can make the skin more hydrated and supple. It also helps smooth out fine lines while playing nice with all of your other products! Sadly, as we age, our body begins to produce less and less. Some choose to get HA fillers to plump up their skin, and since the body already produces this molecule, it’s a very safe injectable. Below are some of my products that contain HA 👇🏻 🍉GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturizer 💚SKINCEUTICALS - Phyto Corrective Gel Hydrating Botanical Gel 🍇GLOW RECIPE - Plum Plump Hyaluronic Acid Serum 💦SKINCEUTICALS - Hydrating B5 Gel Do you love HA? Happy Friday everyone!

Friends Don’t Let Friends Skip Sunscreen
Hello my fellow sunscreen beauties! Okay so this sunscreen is the absolute HOLY GRAIL of any sunscreen that I have tried. It feels like an additional layer of skin that’s how light weight it is. SPF stands for “sun protection factor” need I say more ?! SPF is the NUMBER ONE way to prevent skin from prematurely aging. Using an SPF lowers your risk of harming premature skin. UV rays cause wrinkles so if we can use a product to avoid those UV rays from penetrating the skin barrier why not do it, it only takes 10 seconds to apply it to your Face and will save you a lifetime of wrinkles! UVB rays are the bad type of sun that cause cancer. Wearing SPF lowers the risk of developing cancer! Always use 30 or higher. According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, “SPF 30 prevents 97% of UVB radiation and SPF 50 prevents 98% of UVB Radiation.” Even though we can’t see these UV Rays our skin can surely feel them! UVA(ultraviolet A) is associated with skin aging where as UVB (ultraviolet B) is associated with skin burning. As Neutrogena says UV(A)ging and UV(B)urning. Not only does this product feel amazing it also has this pretty warm glow to it to give the skin the appearance of flawless architecture! The glow is not overpowering but just enough. We’re not living in the 1920’S so we surely don’t want to look like a walking disco ball ! The compatibility of the sunscreen is also very nice when pairing with other Skinceuticals face serums as well as other bands. It does not crumble off.
Hyperpigmentation is frustrating, but it has a cure.
I have been constantly frustrated by my hyperpigmentation because it cannot even be covered by thick concealers. To deal with it, I have tried many products which can be separated into two categories. The first one is sun cream, which can protect the skin from the damage of ultraviolet rays. The function of this is to anti-oxidize. The second is products that relieve pigmentation and make your skin recover from the result of melanin accumulation. The ISDIN Fotoprotector Fusion Water has SPF 50. It is fluid, lightweight, oil-free with intensive protection from the sun. This is an excellent product for preventing the accumulation of more melanin, which can dramatically promote pigmentation. I’ve been using this sun cream for two years, and fewer wrinkles caused by sun occur. So I guess it can also prevent the production of melanin. This is definitely an excellent product to fight against hyperpigmentation. For recovery, I find the Sesderma Azelac Ru effective in relieving pigmentation. The texture is liposomal, but it does not feel oily at all. Of all its ingredients, four are all of the anti-oxidant function, which includes BHT and BHA. It helps the skin to peel off. And I feel regenerated after using it. I have emptied three bottles and it does slow the pace of pigmentation. Another product that has a similar function as Sesderma serum is very ordinary for me. It is also liposomal, containing 20％ vitamin complex. First of all, I break out occasionally after using it. Secondly, it is not as amazing as I think. It needs to be used within one day, so too much application of it will betray my original intention of fighting against hyperpigmentation. So it is not recommended for curing hyperpigmentation.

ACNE-CLEARING SKINCARE ROUTINE (combination sk.)
I’ve recently shared that my skin had been going through a rough patch, probably from the humidity of where I am now compared to when I was in New York. I am proud to share that I’ve found a skincare “happy place” for my skin now- and it’s always subject to change but for now it’s perfect! 1) SKINCEUTICALS - Hydrating B5 Gel I love love love this hyaluronic acid serum. It’s so hydrating for my combination skin without feeling too thick, heavy or even too thin. It instantly plumps my skin and keeps my skin hydrated throughout the day. 2) SKINCEUTICALS - C E Ferulic With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C Serum This is my favorite antioxidant Vitamin C Serum. It’s pricey, I know, but there are reasons why it’s a cult favorite. It’s a potent, powerful serum that helps to brighten your skin with Vitamic C and protect your skin from free-radicals and other environmental stressors. This product also strengthens and amplifies the effects of sunscreen! 3) Avène - Skin Recovery Cream My current favorite face cream for night and day. This is gentle face cream does everything an effective face cream should do! It adds moisture to the skin and locks in all the products you applied beforehand. This face cream also has some thermal spring water which is and ingredient for it’s healing and skin recovery benefits. For my acne-prone skin, this truly helps with speeding up the recovery time of my breakouts. It also helps to calm any irritations you may have! 4) SKINCEUTICALS - Physical Fusion Uv Defense SPF 50 SUNSCREEN!!! My #1 favorite step in my skincare routine. It’s so effective at protecting your skin from the sun’s harmful rays, which can prematurely age your skin, damage your skin cells and eventually become sun spots, melanoma, etc. This physical sunscreen has a super lightweight serum texture that blends into the skin seamlessly without leaving a white cast. This one also adds a slight glow to the skin afterwards! 5) ILIA - Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 This is a new step that I’ve added to my skincare routine. I call this my “tint” step. I struggle with breakouts all the time and this step has honestly helped so much. By adding a lightweight, glowy tint to the skin it 1) gives the illusion that you have amazing glowy skin, 2) adds a little bit of color back into the face and 3) has additional SPF protection, hyaluronic acid and niacinamide to protect and treat the skin. I wouldn’t use this in place of my sunscreen as I would never use enough for it to properly be SPF 40, but I love knowing that this tint adds a little extra protection! My skincare routine is always changing as I like to listen to my skin and see how it’s reacting to the products I’m using. There are so many factors that can affect the appearance of your skin and so I would never say that I have perfect skin. This is just what’s working for me now!

Is This The Best Serum Ever? SkinCeuticals Time!🌵🌵
This is the last part of my long review. I have seen many posts on SkinCeuticals Products these days. Is you are still wondering if this is the brand for you, keep reading this post! This review is on 3 different serums from SkinCeuticals. Do you like this brand? SKINCEUTICALS - Phloretin Cf PCF and CF are most probably SkinCeuticals' signature products when it comes to brightening skin complexion and preventing oxidative stress on the skin and they really live up to their hype. In addition, I think that we get the best results from using PCF and CF if we use them in the morning. PCF is more suitable for oily skin, while CF is more suitable for dry skin. It's suitable for those who are seeking to brighten their skin, remove acne- scars, and protect their skin from oxidation. SKINCEUTICALS - Phyto Corrective Gel Hydrating Botanical Gel Phyto Corrective Gel combines hyaluronic acid with a botanical blend of cucumber, thyme, olive leaf, and other calming botanical ingredients. It's an anti-inflammatory product which can soothe and calm our skin. It works well in reducing the redness of new acne scars. It's suitable for all skin types, especially sensitive and oily skin. SKINCEUTICALS - RESVERATROL B E Nighttime Antioxidant Serum for face B E Antioxidant Night Concentrate is one of my favorite products from SkinCeuticals. 1% of resveratrol neutralizes free radicals, supports the skin's natural antioxidant defenses, and reveals visible radiance and firmness. It also contains other antioxidant ingredients that can truly and effectively allow the skin to repair itself at night. It doesn't feel heavy on the skin, spreads easily, and is quickly absorbed by the skin. It's suitable for all skin types.
Over a month ago @skinceuticalsca sent over these beautiful serums plus their 0.5 retinol for me to use and share with you all! Honestly, I had high expectations knowing these are medical grade products and how highly rated they come.... but they somehow exceeded these high expectations! I am shocked at how smooth my skin is. That was the first thing I noticed. My skin was so smooth like a babies bottom and the texture was virtually gone. My redness and scarring was half of what it was only two weeks in and the pimples stopped coming! I know that blemish defence is the main product to thank for my clear skin since it’s stopping the acne from forming and then it’s clearing up the rough texture and clogs that we’re deep in my skin. Next C E Ferulic is heaven sent. It’s 100% plumping up my skin with the extra collagen production, my skin is brighter and I have a soft look to my skin. I’m not quite glowing as I wish as my skin still suffers dryness, but I know having the antioxidant protection is saving my skin. The discolouration defence is iffy. I was hoping to see my acne scars vanish with it, but maybe I just need to use up the bottle and keep going! I’ve read mixed reviews, but I’m still hopeful. After a month of just the serums I decided to try the retinol (not pictured) and HOLY GUACAMOLE! My skin was definitely dried out and after a pretty severe stress breakout, it actually brought down a line of cysts on my jaw in two uses. It’s a strong retinol that works quick. I didn’t even have any irritation or flakiness, just some reasonable dryness. It’s a beautiful creamy texture that soaks in nicely and feels nice under my thick night moisturizer. All in all, I am a HUGE SkinCeuticals fan now. I have since purchased many other products and I continue to be shocked at just how good and worth it they are. I have the best skin of my life despite life throwing me curve balls and trying to ruin it.

Kismet with SkinCeuticals’ C E Ferulic
C E Ferulic is a serum with 15 percent L-ascorbic acid (vitamin C), 1 percent alpha tocopherol (vitamin E) and 0.5 percent ferulic acid. It is designed for dry, normal and sensitive skin. SkinCeuticals also specified that it was made for “sensitized, dehydrated, discolored and aging” skin conditions. 🙋🏾♀️ My dermatologist gave me samples of two SkinCeuticals products — niacinamide and the SKINCEUTICALS - C E Ferulic With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C Serum to help with my hyperpigmentation. While the brand website says it formulated for dry, normal and sensitive skin — my skin is oily because it is so dehydrated. Now that you know the background let’s circle back to my hyperpigmentation: C E Ferulic, which is an oil, did make my Dalmatian spots fade quicker than normal. (I have been using it for about 3 months.) I would have give it 4⭐️, but I cannot justify the price for the average person. Would I recommend it? Like any product it does take time to work and I am not sure that it is worth the $166 price tag. If my derma wants to give me more samples, I wouldn’t turn her down. Yes, if you have money. But there are cheaper alternatives if you don’t have $166 to burn.

Most Effective Vit C Serum!!
For years, I have been using the Sweet CHEF - Ginger + Vitamin C Serum Shot . I really love this product and I have dedicated a whole another review for this product on my page. However, lately my skin changed a lot and I started noticing that it wasn’t responding much to the products that I had been using .So, I went ahead and did a revamp for my skin -care routines and in the process, I found the most effective Vit C out in the market right now! NATURIUM - Vitamin C Complex Serum is a 22% vit C serum complex, which is pretty strong when we compare with most of the vit C serums out there in the market. However, this product is formulated and packaged in a way that this high percentage of Vit C does only good for your skin because it’s in the encapsulated form and has gold s one of its ingredients which just makes the Vit C more stable. I have been using this product for about 3 weeks now and started noticing the difference in my skin within the first week. I had dark spots disappearing and my skin started to get a more even texture and tone . The product has a serum structure and comes in a opaque bottle with dropper, which is very easy for application. The product itself is a golden translucent liquid that gets absorbed very quickly into the skin. Doesn’t feel sticky, oily or heavy like some Vit C products out there. There is no specific fragrance associated with it , which makes it great for even the most sensitive skin type. I use the product everyday in the morning and sometimes in the evening( when I am not using my Retinol). I just can’t get enough of this product or this brand. This is just one really effective Vit C. This brand Naturium, is a clean brand , which made me more attracted towards trying their products. So, for all those of you searching for a Vit C that actually works- this is the ONE!! ❣️ P.S: I also got their NATURIUM - Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2% and will put out a post for this product soon!
