Is clean always better?

Is clean always better? I personally don’t think so! Clean is a broad term used for products that avoid certain ingredients like fragrance, parabens, SLS, alcohols, phthalates and such. But this doesn’t guarantee a product or certain ingredient is safe and fine for your skin. Take Drunk Elephant, they have their Suspicious 6 ingredients they won’t Include...... yet their product hurt my skin and broke me out. Why? L Ascorbate Acid is too strong or harsh of a vitamin c for my skin to handle. It’s a clean ingredient, but doesn’t work for me. Don’t be fooled by clean! While it could be a great way to avoid certain chemicals you don’t like or could more guarantee a cruelty free product, your skin could still react. DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum

Vitamin c
I love vitamin c in my skincare! I use a vitamin C serum daily. I have dry skin. I also have some sun damage from skin and mild scarring from pimples I couldn’t leave alone. Vitamin C have so many benefits. It’s a powerful antioxidant and neutralizes free radicals. It aids in the regeneration and turnover in cells. It brightens skin and fades dark spots. DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum this serum is one of the most potent on the market. Unfortunately because it is so potent it is also fairly unstable, meaning it has a very short shelf life. This product oxidizes quickly which is unfortunate for such a pricy serum. It works extremely well but it also has a mildly unpleasant scent which I like to describe as “beef sticks” aside from those downsides this really is still a great serum!

Do’s & Don’t’s of A Sensitive Skin Routine
In my opinion, all skin is sensitive- but people with particularly reactive skin have to take extra caution, especially when you have a condition like eczema (hey fam!) and rosacea. Personally, I have combination sensitive skin and eczema, but nowadays my skin is pretty normal. Here’s some tips to follow when building your basic skincare routine... • Don’t: Jump into a ten-step routine. Overwhelming skin with so many products can easily aggravate sensitive skin, while also making it harder to figure out what one is irritating your skin. Take your time. • Do: Iron out the basics! Before introducing serums, make sure to find a cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen combination that gently nourishes skin. Avoid exfoliants in these so that they’re a safe fall-back if your skin starts flaring up. My favourite sensitive skin cleansers are HOLI FROG - Tashmoo Water Lily Nourishing Milky Wash and PAULA'S CHOICE - RESIST Perfectly Balanced Foaming Cleanser , as they cleanse without stripping skin of protective oils. My go-to sensitive skin (and all skin) sunscreens are PAULA'S CHOICE - Essential Glow Moisturizer SPF 30 (mineral) and PAULA'S CHOICE - YOUTH-EXTENDING DAILY HYDRATING FLUID SPF 50 (chemical). • Don’t: Use products with fragrance, alcohol, or essential oils. Alcohol is drying and can weaken the skin barrier, your skin’s defense against environmental damage. Fragrance and essential oils not only have a high chance of irritating skin, but also oxidize upon contact with the air, releasing free radicals that break down collagen. Avoid these. • Do: Incorporate antioxidants. Antioxidants battle environmental aggressors, neutralize free radicals, soothe skin, and calm redness. These and a good sunscreen are going to be your best combination for calm, youthful skin! I utilize a couple drops of The Ordinary - Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3% on mornings I forgo vitamin c, but I also enjoy the silky texture of PAULA'S CHOICE - Retinol Super Antioxidant Serum for a gentle, moisturizing retinol that is also loaded with antioxidants. • Don’t: Try to smother skin into submission. Piling on layers of the heaviest cream may provide temporary relief, but it can lead to congestion and acne, which will only inflame skin more in the long-term. • Do: Combine fatty acids, ceramides, peptides, and/or hyaluronic acid treatments to repair the skin barrier, promoting moisture retainment in multiple levels. Layering different types of hydration/moisture from thinnest to thickest is better for your skin and will promote healing the root cause versus treating the symptoms. I love combining PAULA'S CHOICE - Resist Anti-Ageing Omega+ Complex Serum and NIOD - Multi-Molecular Hyaluronic Complex underneath my moisturizer to hydrate + nourish my skin and reduce frequency of my eczema flare-ups.

Rather get Coal than Drunk Elephant C-Serum
Rather get Coal than Drunk Elephant C-Serum
I’m not saying it’s the worst thing ever, but it’s definitely not the best thing ever. If the price point was listed more fairly i’d be more content with my purchase, but the idea of paying so much for vitamin C serum makes this not worth it. I have found similar products for a fraction of the price so I would not recommend and would rather get coal than spend money on this wasteful product. DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum

I feel like I don’t post enoug
I feel like I don’t post enough about my absolute holy grails, the products I use on a daily basis. . Ever since I discovered drunkelephant and started using their products, I have used them religiously. They have done wonders for my skin and my skin has honestly never been better. The market is starting to get really concentrated but I truly believe that drunkelephant is more than just the pretty and hygienic packaging. Their products are so effective and deliver real results. I’m always super transparent with you guys and I love sharing my before and after pictures because I think they’re important to see. You guys have to trust the process ✨ . **swipe to see my before and after with consistent use of c-firma** . If you are interested in drunkelephant but haven’t had the chance to try any of their products yet, then I highly suggest getting their littles kit. You get to try most of their products for such an amazing price and don’t underestimate the minis because they seriously last a long time!

🐘Mini haul! 🐘The drunkelepha
🐘Mini haul! 🐘The drunkelephant Rise and Glow set. I’m a huge fan of the C-Firma serum, but I haven’t repurchased it in well over a year. It was a daily staple. Took awhile to get use to the smell(like a fermented citrus fruit) and the sticky texture but WOW my skin looked amazing. I didn’t repurchase because 1. The full size is expensive. 2. It goes bad fast. Though I used most of it, the product oxidized 6 months in. Even after daily(1 pump a day) use I felt like I was throwing away a good portion of the product. ENTER THE LITTLES! Now admittedly when I saw DE release travel version of their famous products I wrote it off. Most travel skincare products aren’t a good deal. You’re lucky if there is enough to to really get a sense of the product and they are more expensive per ounce compared to their full size counterparts. Then I saw a post breaking down the math of these samples, and they are actually a pretty good deal. You get almost a third of The full size. Based on my pattern of use before that should last me awhile(goal is 2 months.) And at $22 for the set I’m not breaking the bank!

[T.L.C. FRAMBOOS + C-FIRMA]

I
[T.L.C. FRAMBOOS + C-FIRMA] I think it’s no secret that Babyfacial is the Big Gun™️ of the drunkelephant line. She comes in weekly, does her job, then gets to rest on the shelf for a while. These two, however, are what I would consider to be DE’s workhorses. The daily grinders. The products that help maintain smooth, bright skin throughout the week.

Drunkelephant D Bronzi
Drunkelephant D Bronzi
DRUNK ELEPHANT - D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Sunshine Drops D bronzi is an anti pollution product that defends again environmental stressers and that’s not even the best part about it. The consistency is like a lightweight cream that you can easily mix into your favorite serum or moisturizer for optimal results. You only need the tiniest bit for an overall bronzy, glowy and sunkissed look. Plus it protects your skin! I’ve used this for some months every morning and it doesn’t even look like I used the product since I only need the tiniest bit. It comes with a pump and 30ml of product, which is great for 36$. Very unique product that just gives your skin the overall healthy look while protecting as well. Works well with make up and under makeup or by itself! Would recommend getting a sample!

Confused ab this
Confused ab this
I wanted to love this Vit C so much. I tried a bottle once and ended up giving it to a friends, but I heard miracle stories about it so I decided to give it another go and I still don’t like it. The scent is so bad for me, and the texture isn’t great either. I have to mix this with B-Hydra or it is unbearable. I don’t think $80 is a fair price for this product either. If you like this, what makes it worth it?! DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum
