SKINCARE: NIGHT ROUTINE BASICS!

Finally part two of my skin care basics! A lot of the steps are the same but I do have different products in those places. Let's get into it.... 1) MAKEUP REMOVER: this step is essential after a long day, look at this like double cleansing so they scheduled the service layer off before your cleanser goes in to get a deeper clean. my product: CLINIQUE - Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm
2) CLEANSER: cleansing helps to get rid of dead skin, pollutants, oils, dirt, and bacteria in general but many dermatologists & estheticians recommend that you should wash your face first thing in the morning so that you can prepare your skin for any other products that go on top of it. my product: CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser
3) EYE CREAM: the eye area is a super fragile, sensitive part of the face so your best bet is to apply your eye cream right away. to allow for maximum moisturization, apply first and pat around the area GENTLY! also in the AM, eye cream can help tighten and depuff the eyes. my product: BURT’S BEES - Sensitive Eye Cream
4) TONER/ESSENCE/MIST: this step can help to prime your skin to absorb active ingredients, do you research on whether you should be using a toner or an essence. shameless plug, one of my first posts is about the difference between toners and tonics, check that out for help. my products: pixi - Collagen Tonic
pixi - Hydrating Milky Mist
5) SERUM(S): this stuff delivers the bulk of active ingredients to your freshly primed face! if you apply serums over thicker formulas (moisturizers, etc.) they may not penetrate as well. serums DIFFER from day to night. be sure to choose ingredients that are SAFE for the time of day you're using them. (i.e. retinol should be used AT night, vitamin c during the day) my product: PACIfICA - Dream Shot Beauty Sleep Booster Serum
6) RETINOL: as stated above right now is best used at night! i use a retinol alternative. check out my dedicated post on bakuchiol vs. retinol! my product: ACURE - Radically Rejuvenating Dual Phase Bakuchiol Serum
7) MOISTURIZER: think of this as a way to seal in everything you just did! look for hyaluronic acid & other ingredients that lock in moisture. my products: CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream
CLARISMA - Cali Dreaming Cream Daily Moisturizer
8) SPOT TREATMENT: only if necessary, you should be applying spot treatment on active breakouts both morning & night to accelerate the healing process. my product: JĀSON - JĀSON Tea Tree Oil
9) FACE OIL: i have a special post also on what face oils can do for oily skin! they help trap moisture in your skin & as a protective barrier. think of it like skin care topcoat. my product: ACURE - Seriously Soothing Blue Tansy Night Oil

Best Day 🌞& Night🌛 Moisturizer
Hello lovies! I’m back with my 2/2 review on Clarisma Beauty. Please check out my first review featuring the Malibu Blush Gentle Exfoliating Scrub! As a quick reminder Clarisma Beauty is a clean beauty for all skincare line. Created in California with plant based ingredients, non-toxic, cruelty free, PETA certified, and vegan! This CLARISMA - Cali Dreaming Cream Daily Moisturizer which retails for $16.99 (49ml/1.65 fl oz) and was kindly gifted by the brand. This moisturizer smells delicious which goes great with scrub scent! It’s a white semi/thick consistency however it rubs into the face very easily and leaves the face feeling so moisturized. FYI the moisturizer contains papaya and pineapple 🍍 enzymes! It’s great for both day and night and is great for evening out the skin’s texture and creating a gorgeous glow. As I mentioned before since it apples so nicely to the skin without shiny residue it can also be used as a primer for makeup. I myself haven’t tried it out as a primer yet since I’m not wearing much foundation while working from home but I imagine it will be amazing! Key benefits of this moisturizer include moisturizes, rejuvenates skin’s texture, absorbs quickly, and create a natural matte finish. Key ingredients include neem oil, kokum butter, bambusa arundinacea stem extract, and willow herb. I’ve been using it for the last month and it’s perfect for my oily combination skin and for dealing with the increasing cold temperature in the east coast. If you ever deal with winter dry skin, then this is the moisturizer for you! It’s less than $20 and be found at Ulta or Clarisma’s page! Check them out and I hope you love their products as much as I do 🤗.

Good skincare for life.
I’ve been obsessed with skincare and makeup since I was a little girl. I made my own masks, I religiously cleansed my face day and night once I started wearing makeup and I used treatment products and moisturizers long before I needed them - that is key! Start a skincare routine as early as you can. If you think your skin is perfect and doesn’t need anything, think about the decades coming! Start now! Here’s the thing- skincare (and makeup) don’t have to be complicated or expensive. I regularly blend drugstore products with high end products. Honestly, many of the drugstore products turn out to be my favorites. Full disclosure, I use a crap ton of skincare products and I change up my routine as needed. I rarely put on a full face of makeup but I do wear some makeup 5-6 days of the week because it makes me feel pulled together and I like how it looks. No apologies necessary for daily make up wearers- do what makes you feel good! No shame in self care, ever! Today felt like a full-face-of-makeup day for some reason, so I had some fun and put it all on. Here are some of my fave products and what I used today: 1. Day old hair with Toni & Guy matte hair powder. 2. Cleanse face with CLARISMA - Malibu Blush Exfoliating Scrub - the enzymes in this cleanser keep my face smooth and glowing. Follow with some quick swipes of pixi - Glow Tonic allow to dry then mix one dropThe Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% The Ordinary - Matrixyl* 10% + HA , half pumpCLARISMA - Cali Dreaming Cream Daily Moisturizer massage in and appy a dab of Roots Sensitive Eye Cream to eyes. When my face is dry I apply a layer of DRUNK ELEPHANT - Umbra Tinte Physical Daily Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30 . 3. Prime my oily skin with smashbox - Photo Finish Foundation Primer Super Light , one little drop each LANCÔME - Teint Idole Ultra Long Wear Foundation and SHISEIDO - Perfect Refining Foundation SPF 15 MAYBELLINE - Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Treatment Concealer for under eyes, e.l.f. - Hydrating Camo Concealer (just discovered this!), UNDONE BEAUTY - LIP TO CHEEK 3-IN-1 CREAM PALETTE , tiny bit of bareMinerals - Mineral Veil Setting Powder Broad Spectrum SPF 25 on t-zone, SHISEIDO - Shiseido Eyelash Curler COVERGIRL - Total Tease Waterproof Mascara NYX - Eyebrow Cake Powder , Rimmel grey eyeliner, a few pats bh - Illuminating in Ireland 6 Color Highlight Palette Sephora chunky crayon brow enhancer, florence by mills - Limited Edition Get Glossed Lip Gloss Duo . Last, I like to spray a couple spritzes of HERBIVORE - Rose Hibiscus Hydrating Mist to get a satin look. This seems like a lot, but it takes maybe 6-8 minutes. I apply my foundation, concealer, cream blush and eye shadow by hand. Always have, always will. My skin isn’t perfect, but it’s pretty good and I owe it to taking care of my skin for more than 30 years. Unfortunately, I grew up in an era we didn’t talk about sunscreen and sun damage. I baked in the sun and eeeeek, tanning beds. Surprisingly, my skin isn’t horrible but I definitely see the damage. I’m currently working on undoing some of that damage. Morale of the story, take care of your skin and enjoy the process. I do!

✨My Favourite Moisturizer Of All Time🐐✨
Two words: HOLY GRAIL! If you’re like me and you suffer with a damaged skin barrier, are acne-prone and sensitive, then you should definitely try this moisturizer. This moisturizer is recommended for normal to dry skin but it is surprisingly lightweight. I usually expect creams for drier skin types to feel heavier after applying them. This moisturizer does contain several emollient ingredients but it is basically unnoticeable. I am dry/combo and I find this to be the perfect texture for both my dry and oily areas of my skin. Since using this product I’ve noticed my skin has been less irritated and overall healthier. Whenever I go a bit overboard with my routine (such as over-exfoliating or using too many active ingredients at a time), I use this moisturizer to calm any irritation I caused myself and it works PERFECTLY! The consistency is a thick, white cream. It spreads easily over the skin and absorbs quickly after application. Despite being a thick cream this feels mostly weightless once it’s absorbed. It leaves pretty much no trace on the skin. The formula is fragrance-free, oil-free, non-comedogenic, and hypoallergenic. ✨Noteworthy Ingredients ✨ CERAMIDES! — naturally occurring lipids within the skin that restore and maintain the skin barrier Hyaluronic Acid — hydrating humectant; draws moisture into the skin Vitamin E — antioxidant; strengthens skin barrier Glycerin — hydrating humectant; draws moisture into the skin Cetearyl Alcohol — hydrating emollient; locks in moisture Petrolatum — hydrating emollient; locks in moisture This product retails for £13.00/13.54 USD/17.62 CAD for 340g. If I could only recommend one skincare product, it would be this one without a doubt. If you have not tried this moisturizer before, I HIGHLY suggest you do. ✨❤️ CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream

USE THIS AFTER YOU SHAVE
I went into the cerave website. You can register there to receive a free CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream sample in the mail. It took me like a month to get it BUT IT WAS WORTH IT! I took a shower, shaved my legs, and I applied this after. GURL! When I tell you that my legs were smooth, THEY WERE SMOOTH!! LIKE A BABY’S BUTT !! I swear !! Next day, I went to H‑E‑B, and bought it !! It’s $13 I believe. If you want it with the pump it’s $17 GO BUY IT !!

New routine for combination skin
To give you some background, I have combination skin. My cheeks are more on the normal side but I do get an oily T-zone as the day goes on. My goal with this new routine is to shrink my large pores, control oil production and keep hormonal acne at bay especially around the time of my cycle each month. I’ve been using this routine for several weeks now and I have to say my face is feeling fabulous. More even skin tone, smaller looking pores and no hormonal acne in sight! I love all of these products but the only one I am not sold on is PAULA'S CHOICE - The Unscrub I’m not a fan of the cleaning beads, it seems too gentle for an exfoliant. Here is my current routine: Morning: Cleanser: LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser Toner: pixi - Collagen Tonic Serum: THE inkey LIST - Hyaluronic Acid Serum Treatment: THE inkey LIST - Niacinamide Oil Control Serum Eye serum: The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG Eye cream: RoC - Retinol Correxion Eye Cream *I’ve noticed that while the caffeine solution is wonderful, it can get sticky so I like to go over it with a tiny bit of eye cream especially if I am going to put concealer on Moisturizer: Aveeno - Calm + Restore Oat Gel Moisturizer Sunscreen: PAULA'S CHOICE - Youth-extending Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 50 Night: First cleanser: FARMACY - Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm Second cleanser: LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser Exfoliating: PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator (I currently use this 3-4 nights a week, working my way to using every night) Alternative: PAULA'S CHOICE - The Unscrub On nights were I don’t use the BHA, I use this scrub but like I said I’m not completely in love with it so I might change. The beads in it do not exfoliate or break down. It’s very weird but if you have any advice on how to use this better, I’m all ears! Serum: THE inkey LIST - Hyaluronic Acid Serum Treatment: THE inkey LIST - Niacinamide Oil Control Serum Eye serum: The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG Moisturizer: ANDALOU NATURALS - CannaCell Dreamy Night Cream This routine has been amazing for my skin! I hope this helps anyone who’s needing help with products for their combination skin routines! Thanks!

MOVE ON FROM WITCH HAZEL!
I'm gonna be honest and say: I BOUGHT THE THAYER'S TONER BECAUSE OF THE HYPE! You remember when this was almost always sold out & it was plastered all over the internet. I did not do enough research of my own & that's okay, we all make mistakes especially when it comes to skincare. All I knew was, I have oily skin, the formula is alcohol-free, and witch hazel is good for your skin! Right? ....Kind of. THAYERS - Lavender Facial Toner I used Thayer's Lavender Witch Hazel Toner EVERY DAY for almost a year and short-term, I did see results. Witch hazel is a natural astringent that can dry out inflammatory & noninflammatory blemishes. My blackheads started clearing and my skin was less oily which made me keep it in my routine. But over time, my skin started feeling tight and needed more & more moisture with every passing day. It even became more sensitive to masks/peels I had done before! I hated my oily skin but being completely dried out is not what I wanted either. So... I made the transition to Pixi! pixi - Collagen Tonic For some info on this product & its ingredients: Acacia Collagen: plant-derived collagen substitute; plumps & volumizes skin, hydrates the skin, works to maintain hydration. Peptides: tone/firm the skin, improve the skin barrier, & helps ease inflammation. Coconut Water: conditions & hydrates.  Fruit Extracts: promote youthful skin with antioxidant benefits.  For myself, this toner lasts in my medicine cabinet & comes in easier to use packaging. I used to use cotton pads but with this, I can tap the product into my hands. This makes me spend less on cotton pads & helps the environment (side note: invest in reusable cotton pads; you won't regret it!). On top of that, it's NEVER too soon to start anti-aging. The vegan collagen & peptides work to balance the skin. Lastly, this product is helping me reverse the long term effects of witch hazel. Slowly but surely it has made my skin feel smooth, supple, & happy again! My skin stays hydrated throughout the day & I honestly feel like my makeup is starting to go on smoother. If you're looking for a hydrating toner, LOOK NO FURTHER!

Winter Routine for DRY Skin
My cheeks have been SO dry lately. It’s been a struggle to keep my sensitive combo skin hydrated with the change in weather. I’ve thus made a couple swaps from my summer routine to keep my skin moisturized and not flakey. 🌬I swapped my trusty jojoba oil in the morning for a light application of Dr. Jart+ - Ceramidin Cream (I use about half the amount I use at night- just enough to get an even layer) 🌬I went back the old CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser from their new CeraVe - Hydrating Cream-To-Foam Cleanser . Although I like the new version better, I just need every scrap of hydration I can get right now. 🌬Lastly, I recently started applying a thin layer of Aquaphor - Aquaphor Healing Ointment over my cheeks at night (post on this coming soon!) In short, my routine is now: 🌤 rinse, hydrating toner, moisturizer, spf 🌙 double cleanse, moisturizer*, ointment as needed *I swap my Ceramidin for MAELOVE - Night Renewer 2x / week

MAKE WAY FOR BAKUCHIOL! YOU WON'T REGRET IT 🤯
LET'S GET INTO IT! FYI THIS IS A LITTLE LONG FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES. What is retinol in the first place.... there are several different kinds of retinoids (let me know if you want to see a post on them!) but all are derivatives of Vitamin A! Some can be purchased over the counter or can only be recieved by perscription. Anyway let's talk about the fun stuff, the benefits! RETINOL is known for the following: stimulating collagen production increasing cell turnover minimizing fine lines/wrinkles balancing skin tone & texture You can see why it's a skincare gold-standard. All of these are great results but RETINOL does have possible side effects — dryness, redness, irritation & overall sensitivity. To be 100% clear, these things happen as the skin purges or pushes out what it needs to as the skin cells begin to turn over! If you're using retinol I would EXPECT these effects at first before any major results. Here's a product example: The Ordinary - Retinol 0.5% in Squalane The Ordinary has two lines including Retinol & they recommend the Granactive line to prevent skin irritation. This serum is formulated with squalane which is known to have anti-inflammatory properties while also working to improve the skin on a cellular level. I included this one to express safe usage. Which would include SPF (which you should always wear) & application at night. Lastly, if using retinol research what Acids (hyaluronic, glycolic, lactic, etc.) are safe for use with your specific product. Patch testing is recommended when using stronger retinoids like this! — So now what if I told you, you can experience the wonderful anti-again benefits of RETINOL without its adverse side effects! Okay so that's now Bakuchiol comes in..... it is a plant-derived alternative to Retinol also it is safe to use during pregnancy. In many studies of Bakuchiol vs. Retinol creams those who used Retinol experienced more skin-scaling & sensitivity than those using Bakuchiol. Personally, I have used many different Bakuchiol serums & have yet to see a negative turn in my skin. As I said before the purging is NECESSARY & not a sign of any wrongdoing. But with this serum I am seeing everything I need to so I know I will be coming back to it. ACURE - Radically Rejuvenating Dual Phase Bakuchiol Serum This product is to be SHAKEN! It contains two layers, before mixing, their site describes the top layer as an "antioxidant rich essence" & the bottom layer as a "moisturizing serum blend". Formulated eggplant & turmeric for anti-inflammatory plus antioxidant benefits! I love this because it's a soothing yet the long term effects are even better. I always say skincare is constantly growing & changing so if you suffer with skin sensitivity or are scared to dive into a Retinol based product: RESEARCH BAKUCHIOL! MY BEST ADVICE.... do your OWN research, everyone's skin is different like a snowflake, so do what's best for you!

OLD FAVES: DRUGSTORE FOUNDATIONS ✨
This one will be a little shorter because it will just be ratings! My preferred method of application is with a beauty sponge, here's the list of tools & primers I use! - e.l.f. - Total Face Sponge - e.l.f. - Poreless Putty Primer - MILANI - Prime Protect SPF 30 Face Primer - ACURE - Seriously Soothing Blue Tansy Night Oil - MILANI - Make It Last Prime + Correct + Set Setting Spray (Check out my everyday makeup routine to see a full base tutorial!) Let's get into these ratings! MAYBELLINE - Fit Me! Matte & Poreless Foundation - this is one of my holy grail foundations! i like their shade range so i can account for both my summer and winter shades. i always end up going back to this one! i just WISH the glass packaging had a pump or we could just make the tube worldwide. MILANI - Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation + Concealer - let me preface by saying: it's THICK. full coverage to the max, almost a mousse texture. i go for this when i know i'll be having a long night with my makeup. definitely not an everyday formula. wet n wild - Photofocus Liquid Matte Foundation - another one of my go-to's, this is the original finish which is more satin/natural at least on myself! i like the spatula applicator on this one it's way less messy. definitely a more watery, smooth formula. CATRICE COSMETICS - HD Liquid Coverage Foundation - abysmal shade range, was okay but didn't really make a difference. i used this as a mixer for a long time, it comes in a dropper like serum so I could use it to lighten other foundations. other than that it was nothing to write home about. PHYSICIANS FORMULA - The Healthy Foundation SPF 20 - the packaging on this one actually broke on me but just the top lid part, probably user error. it comes with a large doe foot applicator, it has an interesting smell i will say that. otherwise i like how they do their shade matching by undertones & they keep their chart available and easy to understand! i like the finish, it would dry down slightly cakey but after a few mins + setting spray it would melt down into the skin beautifully! Remember to always give your foundations a full test run! Of course unless you experience irritation or incorrect color match. Some foundations do have a learning curve, for example there are certain foundations that apply better with a brush I have no idea why but it just works that way sometimes. If there are issues, try to check what products you're using that may not be a good pair with your foundation! Every foundation has a different finish so it's important to be aware of that when you're going into your make up routine. Thanks for reading. ❤️ #cheriecreator #cheriepartner

Dirty Dozen Chemicals in my Skincare
I want to move towards a clean skincare routine. My current products were not purchased with clean skincare in mind, but I want to know how many of the Dirty Dozen chemicals are in my skincare. See my previous clean skincare posts for more details. Dirty Dozen Chemicals to Avoid: 1. Coal Tar Dyes 2. DEA / MEA / TEA 3. Phthalates / Parfum / fragrence 4. Formaldehyde releasing perservatives 5. Parabens 6. PEG compounds 7. Petrolatum 8. Siloxanes 9. Sulfates 10. Triclosan 11. Talc 12. Hydroquinone A quick summary, almost every product contains PEGs! PEGs (polyethylene glycols) are petroleum-based compounds that are widely used in cosmetics as thickeners, solvents, softeners, and moisture-carriers. Depending on manufacturing processes, PEGs may be contaminated with measurable amounts of ethylene oxide and 1,4-dioxane, known human carcinogens. 1,4-dioxane can be removed from cosmetics during the manufacturing process by vacuum stripping, but there is no easy way for consumers to know whether products containing PEGs have undergone this process. Here’s what’s in my current products: The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG ✅ clean The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil ✅ clean CLINIQUE - Dramatically Different Oil-Free Gel ❌ contains paraffin ❌contains Petrolatum (Also contains dyes) Kate Somerville - Liquid ExfoliKate Triple Acid Resurfacing Treatment ✅ clean of dirty dozen SUNDAY RILEY - Good Genes Glycolic Acid Treatment ❌ contains PEG-100, PEG-75 CLINIQUE - Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm ❌contains PEGs CLINIQUE - All About Eyes ❌contains PEGs ❌contains Petrolatum CLINIQUE - Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator ❌ contains PEGs (Also contains dyes) CLINIQUE - Moisture Surge Hydrating Supercharged Concentrate ❌contains PEGs (Also contains dyes) CLINIQUE - Jumbo Liquid Facial Soap Oily Skin Formula ❌contains sulfates ❌contains PEGs CLINIQUE - Smart Custom-Repair Serum ❌contains PEGs (Also contains dyes) VERSED - STROKE OF BRILLIANCE Brightening Serum ✅ clean from dirty dozen I’m new to reading labels, so if I’ve missed something let me know! The Rewards Keep me Coming Back!
Clinique has been my go to brand since I was a teenager. My mom uses Clinique. It was my first introduction to skincare. Recently I started really researching skincare because I’m in my 30s and I want to make sure I’m using the best products and ingredients to prevent aging. I want to expand my routine beyond Clinique to see what works best for me. But, their Smart Rewards program is really hard to turn down! Here’s a rundown of my new purchases and freebies! If you use Clinique sign up for their Smart Rewards. You’ll get email discounts and gift with purchase offers constantly. A way better deal than Sephora offers. CLINIQUE - Moisture Surge Sheertint Hydrator Broad Spectrum SPF 25 Purchased for $49 I love using BB creams. / tinted moisturizer. This has nice sheer / light coverage, moisture surge hydrator that I love and spf. Perfect multi-tasker. I also chose it because it does not have oxybenzone, a chemical sunscreen ingredient that I want to avoid since I’m breastfeeding. CLINIQUE - Just Browsing Brush-on Styling Mousse Purchased $26 Haven’t used yet but I ran out of the SEPHORA COLLECTION - SEPHORA COLLECTION Brow Builder that I have been using and this seems like a similar product (also I wanted to spend $65 to get a free gift) Gifts / Freebies CLINIQUE - Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm Birthday Gift FULL size 115ml! Value $42 I haven’t tried a cleansing balm yet and I have been looking to switch from alcohol based makeup removers. This has great reviews online. Looking forward to this Birthday Gift! CLINIQUE - Dewy for Days Moisture Surge Set Value $65 includes 3 FULL sized products! This was one of the free bonus gifts to choose from for spending $65. The set includes: CLINIQUE - Moisture Surge Hydrating Supercharged Concentrate 48ml - This is categorized as a moisturizer but it feels like a serum. It’s in a similar bottle to my other Clinique serum. One pump is enough to cover your face. At first it felt tacky on my skin, but absorbed after 10mins and left my skin feeling hydrated. I’m not sure how to use this differently than their Moisture Surge gel. Add it to my routine in place of a moisturizer or add it in as an extra hydration serum 🤷🏻‍♀️ CLINIQUE - Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator 50ml - I love this moisturizer! Great for winter. Really leaves my face feeling soft and hydrated. I’ll never buy the Dramatically Different Lotion again! CLINIQUE - Moisture Surge Eye 96-Hour Hydro-Filler Concentrate 15ml - I haven’t tried this yet. It has okay reviews online. I’ll review later. So, for spending $75 I got an extra $100 in free product!!

Acne-fighting products 😡👊🏻
Currently, my skin has been acting up. I’ve decided to simplify my routine by bringing back the basics. Sometimes we need to lessen our use of acids in our skincare routine and resort back to products that aren’t as harsh on the skin. Gentle products can give our skin a break which allows it to heal & return to a happy state! Some products I’ve been loving! 😍 ZITSTICKA - Killa Kit These patches have microdarts that work to deeply penetrate the skin. They’re awesome at targeting deep under the skin zits. I like to leave it on over night and sometimes during the day. After doing this, my zit becomes visibly smaller and less inflamed. This is my fourth time repurchasing because they are amazing! dermalogica - Daily Microfoliant Exfoliator This is a gentle chemical exfoliant that can be used daily. It’s a rice-based powder that activates upon water contact. I use it about 3 times a week, typically at night & after double cleansing. It always leaves my face feeling soft & smooth. The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution I’m not a fan of physical exfoliants, so I love using this mask. It does sting when first applying but quickly goes away. You’re only supposed to leave this on for 10 minutes & it must be applied to dry skin! Chemical exfoliants work by loosening the bonds between cells with acid. I try not to use this on active acne but it helps with dark spots & acne marks. ZITSTICKA - SKIN DISCIPLINE I’m about to start my 4th month on SD! It is a drug-free dietary supplement loaded with nutrients for the skin. It has things like zinc, probiotic blend (10B CFU), Niacin, & vitamin b6. It has helped my skin out a lot these past three months by keeping my acne at bay & helping with texture by smoothing out my complexion. GLYMEDPLUS - Serious Action Sulfur Masque I love this stuff! I use it as a spot treatment for huge pesky zits & as a wash-off mask. Main ingredient is sulfur so its drying but it works! My first time trying: CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily SkinThis cleanser has Niacinamide which aids in calming the skin and is formulated for oily/normal skin. I plan on using this as a 2nd step in my double cleansing routine! I’m a fan of the PM moisturizer CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion This moisturizer is lightweight but I give it four stars because it should be a tad thicker given that it is a night cream. Lastly, some products that aren’t for acne but things that I’ve been trying out! Aquaphor - Lip Repair, Stick, Immediate Relief, Fragrance Free, 1 Stick MARIO BADESCU - Hyaluronic Eye Cream I got this sample size for free from an Ulta purchase. Super simple eye cream! I like it but I probably wouldn’t purchase the full size.

Is Niacinamide Really Worth the hype?
Is Niacinamide Really Worth the hype?
Niacinamide - you’ve seen it all over this app (including my previous posts), you’ve seen it on YouTube & you’ve seen it listed on ingredients list but what is it? Also called nicotinamide, it’s a form of vitamin B-3. Vitamin B-3 is an essential nutrient that if you don’t get enough of, it can lead to disorders of the skin, kidney and/or brain. What are it’s benefits? Overall, it helps build proteins in the skin so that your skin stays firm & healthy and locks in moisturize to prevent environmental damage. According to the US National Library of Medicine, more research is needed but it is labeled as “possibly effective” for the treatment of acne & “insufficient evidence to rate effectiveness” for the treatment of eczema. Aside from the need for more research, Niacinamide has also been claimed to minimize redness & blotchiness, minimize pore appearance over time, regulate oil, treat hyperpigmentation, and minimize fine lines & wrinkles. What foods can Niacinamide be found in for a well-balanced diet? Eggs, cereals, green veggies, beans & fish However, the only way to ensure that Niacinamide is targeting your skin is to use it topically! Like using CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion ⚠️ Disclaimer: Talk to your doctor before considering supplements because they should only be taken to treat a deficiency! Overall, there isn’t a confident amount of research availabile to rate Niacinamide as 100% effective but I’ll still be using it! I get my Niacinamide in daily after washing my face at night. I chose this CeraVe moisturizer because I wanted something non-irritating but beneficial to use on nights where I exfoliate. What are your thoughts on the hype over Niacinamide?? 👇🏻

Best cleanser for my acne prone oily skin
Best cleanser for my acne prone oily skin
I have washed my face with all types of Neutrogena cleansers that are specifically for acne prone oily skin, African black soaps by all kinds of brands, Kate Somerville’s Eradikate collections - basically all kinds of acne related cleansers you think of, I’ve tried them all. But all of them leave my face super dry after washing or cause my skin to breakout even more. And often times, my face is so oily the next morning I wake up. But after trying out the Perricone MD - The Jet Set from Macy’s, this cleanser is my favorite favorite product in this whole set. This cleanser, after the first use, gives me the softest and freshest skin. It doesn’t cause my face to feel dry at all and doesn’t cause that greasy feeling the next morning. You don’t need much of the product. How to use: Wet your face and hands. Put a dime sized amount in you hands and massage it into your face for at least a minute. I use a silicone face scrub to massage my face in an upward circular motion. This not only exfoliates my face but also makes sure the product is really cleaning in my pores. Rinse well. It can feel slippery on your face but as long as you don’t see suds then you are done. Pat dry with a towel. Do not rub your face with your towel. You can pull your skin and cause wrinkles and saggy skin. Use any kind of serum and moisturizer. I recommend Perricone MD - Vitamin C Ester Photo-Brightening Moisturizer SPF 30 because it has a whipped airy texture that makes you feel like you put on a cloud on your face. It’s also no thick so it won’t clog your pores. This product also lightens your dark spots. This is also part of their Jet Set collection. After the first use you can also feel how bouncy you skin is. After a month or so you can see your acne is generally reduced significantly. Use this with the DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel and that’s my acne skin routine morning and night. A lot of people don’t like the smell of this but it smells like baby powder. I don’t mind the smell and it doesn’t linger.

My Skincare Story
My Skincare Story
Hi! I’m rein, i’m new and this is my skincare story! As a young kid, i’ve always been obsessed with skincare. My skin was always the ‘demonstration’ skin for all the people around me of what their skin should look like. I have a normal combination skin type and usually i would be invincible to any type of acne but that changed over quarantine. I’ve been stressed, overheating, and probably not on the best diet at home so a few days ago, i decided to pick up a routine. This is my current routine: CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Water Gel Cleanser e.l.f. - Holy Hydration! Face Cream Clean&Clear - Persa-Gel 10 Acne Medication Spot Treatment N°7 - Beautiful Skin Day Cream for Normal/Oily Skin and i might just be impatient but my acne has has halfway-to-almost disappeared. Although, i have an area (my bottom right cheek to my bottom right chin) where there are bumps. A lot of small bumps, like goosebumps that never go away. Also, i’m trying oil cleansing today and this app has brought me to this one specific project that i think might better my life. The product: The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA I need advice, opinions, and a bit of knowledge 😌
