Concealer showdown ELF vs Shape Tape
Yeah so I’m just not every going to be a card carrying member of the tarte - Shape Tape Concealerfan club. At least not until they come out with a formula that is less drying/for mature skin. I have a ton of fun creases below my eyes. Like lots. And I’ve tried every way I could think of to get the Shape Tape concealer not to settle and accentuate those creases but nope. Primer first, mix with moisturizer, before foundation, after foundation, with setting powder, without setting powder. It always looks like my under eyes are cracking within an hour. The e.l.f. - 16HR Camo Concealer has a similarly thick formula, a similar applicator, the same creamy texture in the tube, but it doesn’t leave me with crinkle eyes! And it’s cheap! What’s your go-to concealer for fine under eye lines?

Skin tint comparison 🧐
Hey guys! I thought I'd do a post comparing all of the lightweight foundations I own (@dewybabyrequested and it was a great idea 😊) - these are my skin tints, lightweight foundations, and my tinted moisturizer. laura mercier - Tinted Moisturizer Natural Skin Perfector Broad Spectrum SPF30 in 1C0 cameo - it's coverage is very light but it's pretty hydrating and wears well. It's also buildable and I like to mix it with other foundations that need a base - I've used this product as my primer/base and it's nice. It's $47 at Sephora DIOR - BACKSTAGE Face & Body Foundation in 1 CR - I know it's a medium foundation, but because it's thinner than most foundations / pump ones, I thought it should be included plus it's a squeeze bottle as well, like skin tints. It's $40 at Sephora COVERGIRL - Clean Fresh Skin Milk Foundation in shade 510 - in my opinion, it's not horrible, but I also don't love it. I feel like I need to use a lot and the coverage isn't that good - it's more of a light coverage, plus I give it 3/5 stars because it's kind of difficult to build up coverage. It's $10 at Target Glossier. - Perfecting Skin Tint in shades G10, 11, & 12 - these are pretty great for that "no makeup makeup look"; they're easy to apply, and are bery buildable. My only reason for the 4/5 stars is that they don't have shades for undertones and their range needs to be extended from 12 shades to at least 18 or 20 (like 24 would probably be good). It's $26 at Glossier by itself & is in quite a few sets as well

CLEAN FRESH LINE : my thoughts
... and i have a lot to say! it has been ages since i posted a detailed review, so we might as well just dive in! COVERGIRL - Clean Fresh Cooling Glow Highlighter Stick the first product from this collection that i tried was their cooling glow stick. i own shades “opal dreams”, which is a nice opal pale-pink shade, as well as “so gilty” which is a more warm-toned golden nude shade. they are super cooling and have a nice natural sheen to them which can be emphasized by topping with a powder highlight. i find myself reaching for this a lot to make my complexion dewy and nice! COVERGIRL - Clean Fresh Hydrating Concealer i think people who do exclusively natural makeup will love this product. it is creamy and suitable for drier complexions (unlike my own), but the coverage simply isn’t enough for me. i would consider it light-medium, but i do usually choose the higher-coverage (but MUCH DRIER) COVERGIRL - TruBlend Undercover Concealer . COVERGIRL - Clean Fresh Pressed Powder i like this powder. i own the translucent shade and the flashback is nothing crazy. i do find i have to use a lot more of it than i did when i used to use the MAYBELLINE - Fit Me Matte + Poreless Powder. COVERGIRL - Clean Fresh Skin Milk Foundation i like this foundation as well. it does have a unique smell which may trouble some but the coverage is nice and the finish could be described as satin. people either love or hate this foundation, but i think it is great and will certainly repurchase it! OVERALL.... i love this line and i think it is great for everyday natural makeup looks. my favourite is easily the cooling glow stick and least favourite being the hydrating concealer. overall, i love using all of these products together and i will likely repurchase many of them!!⛅️💗 i hope you enjoyed ;) please be sure to follow here and on my IG @chloebrk.mua #cheriecreator

Mini ulta haul with product tryouts!
I had a few Ulta gift cards burning a hole in my pocket so I decided to get a few new items to try out. The first item I’ve been dying to try is URBAN DECAY - All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray I wanted to see if it’s worth the hype/price tag. I like this product, but I’d like to use it a few more times. I’m going to do another post next month comparing several different setting sprays to see how the compare. The next item I used is the MILANI - Cheek Kiss Blush in shade cheeky coral. I like the shade and it wears nicely. But I did have to layer it to get the color payoff I was looking for. I also got another cult favorite, PHYSICIANS FORMULA - Murumuru Butter Bronzer I absolutely love this product. I love the texture, the smell, the finish. It’s all great, absolutely worth the price. And the last is another eye shadow pallet from profusion! #Profusion Cosmetics - Starlet palette[products]#[FourStars] I love this palette, although the shimmer shades need a wet brush to be impactful. What other make up productions would you like to try out?

Christmas Day Makeup!
CLINIQUE - Even Better Glow Light Reflecting Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 15 Foundation tarte - Shape Tape Concealer 16N Too Faced - Shadow Insurance Anti-Crease Eyeshadow Primer PAT McGRATH LABS - Celestial Divinity Luxe Quad Some scratchiness and it was hard to blend plus fall out. But the color payoff is terrific and the duochrome is gorgeous in person. PAT McGRATH LABS - Dark Star Volumizing Mascara OG HG. PHYSICIANS FORMULA - Murumuru Butter Bronzer in Light. Blends well and goes on smoothly! DIOR - BACKSTAGE Glow Face Palette Hard to pick up with my brush. Doesn’t layer well over bronzer. Ended up looking muddy. ILIA - Balmy Gloss Tinted Lip Oil in Saint. I love this formula. The right amount of shine, wears well and is buildable without being gloopy. Earrings via IndigenousIntentions @ Etsy.

Blush love is in the air 💕 Peachy/pink blushes
I have a yellowish skin tone so I tend to lean toward peachy/bronze colors. But, as you get older it helps you look a little more alive if you have a bit of pink in your cheeks. Pinky Peach or Rose Gold blushes have become my go-to! I also don’t like shimmer in my blush for daily wear, but that’s hard to find. Listed in order of my favorite to my least favorite 1. NYX - High Definition Blush in Rose Gold This one is a great pink with a hint coral. The only negative is it’s shimmery. 2. BURT’S BEES - Blush with Vitamin E in Toasted Cinnamon Almost no pink, almost all peach. Zero shimmer!! This is the one I wear most often for everyday/work makeup. 3. NARS - NARS Blush in Orgasm Bright pink with a peachy/golden shimmer. I think this one gives the best face brightening effect. 4. tarte - Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Sweet This is super old and I really should toss it but I can’t!!! It’s a nice bright pink and shows up really well on my skin even with a tan. Shimmer. 5. bareMinerals - Gen Nude Powder Blush in Call my Blush This one is a really neutral pink with zero shimmer. Applies sheerest of the bunch but very buildable. 6. essence - Satin Touch Blush in Bespoke Warm gold peachy color. No shimmer. 7. MILANI - MILANI Baked Blush in Luminoso More of a true light peach shimmer. Works as a highlighter as well. What is your favorite blush for everyday wear? Do you have a favorite rose gold or peachy-pink blush? Are you a shimmer person?

OLD FAVES: DRUGSTORE FOUNDATIONS ✨
This one will be a little shorter because it will just be ratings! My preferred method of application is with a beauty sponge, here's the list of tools & primers I use! - e.l.f. - Total Face Sponge - e.l.f. - Poreless Putty Primer - MILANI - Prime Protect SPF 30 Face Primer - ACURE - Seriously Soothing Blue Tansy Night Oil - MILANI - Make It Last Prime + Correct + Set Setting Spray (Check out my everyday makeup routine to see a full base tutorial!) Let's get into these ratings! MAYBELLINE - Fit Me! Matte & Poreless Foundation - this is one of my holy grail foundations! i like their shade range so i can account for both my summer and winter shades. i always end up going back to this one! i just WISH the glass packaging had a pump or we could just make the tube worldwide. MILANI - Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation + Concealer - let me preface by saying: it's THICK. full coverage to the max, almost a mousse texture. i go for this when i know i'll be having a long night with my makeup. definitely not an everyday formula. wet n wild - Photofocus Liquid Matte Foundation - another one of my go-to's, this is the original finish which is more satin/natural at least on myself! i like the spatula applicator on this one it's way less messy. definitely a more watery, smooth formula. CATRICE COSMETICS - HD Liquid Coverage Foundation - abysmal shade range, was okay but didn't really make a difference. i used this as a mixer for a long time, it comes in a dropper like serum so I could use it to lighten other foundations. other than that it was nothing to write home about. PHYSICIANS FORMULA - The Healthy Foundation SPF 20 - the packaging on this one actually broke on me but just the top lid part, probably user error. it comes with a large doe foot applicator, it has an interesting smell i will say that. otherwise i like how they do their shade matching by undertones & they keep their chart available and easy to understand! i like the finish, it would dry down slightly cakey but after a few mins + setting spray it would melt down into the skin beautifully! Remember to always give your foundations a full test run! Of course unless you experience irritation or incorrect color match. Some foundations do have a learning curve, for example there are certain foundations that apply better with a brush I have no idea why but it just works that way sometimes. If there are issues, try to check what products you're using that may not be a good pair with your foundation! Every foundation has a different finish so it's important to be aware of that when you're going into your make up routine. Thanks for reading. ❤️ #cheriecreator #cheriepartner

Acure Seriously Soothing Blue Tansy Night Oil
ACURE - Seriously Soothing Blue Tansy Night Oil After my visit to an esthetician I’ve been obsessed with face oils. She said that I should use an oil as my moisturizer because it’ll help build my skin back up. Here are some of the main ingredients: Blue Tansy - provides antioxidants and eases sensitivities Kale - infues antioxidants and brightens Argan Oil - replenishes moisture and boosts radiance Kukui Oil - fends off free radicals Yarrow - calms, soothes and eases sensitivities This has helped put moisture back into my face and I haven’t been waking up quite as dry as I usually do (as long as I don’t sleep on my stomach and wipe all the product off 😂) I feel like there are oils out there that are probably more moisturizing though, I’ve been really wanting to try Squalane!

Add this to your PM routine.
HERBIVORE - Lapis Blue Tansy Face Oil For Oily & Acne-Prone Skin Blue Tansy—provides antioxidants and soothes/ calms sensitivities, and Kukui Oil—fends off free radicals, balances serums, provides hydration and nourishment. Also contains moisturizing ingredients like plant based squalane, jojoba and vitamin E but if you’re in pinch and can’t spare the $72 (+tax) for 50ml bottle at Sephora. Just use nightly, a couple of drops on cleanse skin (after your toner, essence, serums, and other treatments). Massage in as (recommended on the packaging) in place of your facial moisturizer. Or apply it after your moisturizer. My skin having been loving this great product, my breakouts are less angry and red. And my skin doesn’t feel tight or dried out the morning after. I also can’t wait to test out the mask and report back! HERBIVORE - Blue Tansy Resurfacing Clarity Mask Clean product: 🌱No Parabens 🌱No Alcohol 🌱No Sulfates 🌱No Petroleum Based Oils 🌱No Silicones 🐰Cruelty Free 🐰 Vegan Please let me know if you have tried this oil, and/or your favorite Herbivore products below. MY FAVE EYESHADOW PALETTES 🥳
Hello again my loves today I am going to be sharing with you some of my favorite eyeshadow palettes of all time! i'm going over four pallets today and sharing what shades are my favorites, today we have two high-end and two drugstore palettes! Let's get started 🥰 REVOLUTION - Soph x Ultra 24 Eyeshadow Palette - this palette is a collaboration with a British YouTuber (sophdoeslife) on top of a loving her content this palette has blown me away. it's my favorite every day palette it has amazing warm tones and accent colors. i've had this for almost over a year and I've barely hit pan in a lot of the shades, i've actually use this in most of my tutorials on this page! FAVORITE SHADES: Pancakes (light skintone shade), Cuppa Tea (bronzey matte), Petrol (duo chrome; blue & purple shifts), Rosewood (deep brown, close to black) ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Modern Renaissance Eyeshadow Palette - we all know and love this palette but I do need to give it some proper recognition! the formula of this specific palette is unmatched the shades can be a little powdery but the payoff is worth it. i use this more when I am going out or plan to be wearing my make up for a long time because I know the shadows will stay put. either way whether it's a daytime or nighttime look this palette will make it happen! FAVORITE SHADES: Burnt Orange (soft, diffused orange), Primavera (champagne/golden shimmer), Love Letter (magenta), Cyprus Umber (dark brown) NYX - Ultimate Shadow Palette - depicted I have the Brights addition of this pallet but NYX does have multiple others. I really like this palette for my more colorful looks because the shadows are super easy to work with. I would definitely say that this palette is beginner friendly so if you're going to start anywhere with color I would start here! FAVORITE SHADES: #8 (soft purple) & #12 (aqua blue) MORPHE - The James Charles Palette - I would recommend this palette for people who are a little more confident in their eyeshadow techniques. the only reason I say this is because the colors are highly pigmented and shades like Skip (bright pink) can cause stains! I really like the row of a large shadow pans in the middle but again, I would say that this pallet has a learning curve so be patient and blend away! FAVORITE SHADES: Face (can be used as highlighter, large pan; soft white with golden flecks), Mary (dusty pink), Spooky (deepest black I've ever used), Artistry (purple shimmer) I'll be giving a full eyeshadow collection post very soon! But until then.. Sending love. Thank you for reading. ❤️ #cheriecreator #cheriepartner

Cream vs. powder eyeshadow
Eyeshadow can be such a fun part of a makeup routine. Whether it is cream or powder, eyeshadow can enhance the eyes in a simple way. Let’s delve into two formulas I have in my collections: Personally, I love the versatility of cream eyeshadows. Will it be an eyeshadow, eyeshadow primer, base, eyeliner, etc.c today? Who knows? The Milk MAKEUP - Eye Pigment in Silent Disco is relatively beginner friendly. What it does?: On Milk’s website, the eye pigments come in 8 different colors available for purchase. (Only 5 are on Sephora.com.) The pigments are meant to be long-wearing, crease-free, oil-free, cruelty-free and a whole lot of other things free. Use with an angled brush for a colorful winged eyeliner look. There I was digging through the beauty section of one of my local T.J. Maxx and I saw the Milk MAKEUP - Eye Pigment in Silent Disco. Described as a deep brown base with copper and gold shimmers, it is actually more unique than it sounds. To me, the base almost looks black which is why I compared it to the black in the REVOLUTION - Soph x Ultra 24 Eyeshadow Palette palette with both COLOURPOP - Colourpop Pressed Powder Shadow used on top of that to create a similar look. MY EXPERIENCE: This pigment is so pretty and acts as a great all-over lid shade of you are having a lazy makeup day. The $5.99 price tag (0.34 fl. oz./10 mL) makes me love it more. (It is originally $24.) My eyelids are slightly darker and oily, but this covers the discoloration and shows true to color. The oils from my eyelids don’t break this pigment down easily. ••• If you ever want to dupe another shadow, then COLOURPOP - Colourpop Pressed Powder Shadow and REVOLUTION - Soph x Ultra 24 Eyeshadow Palette are the way to go. Like I said the Milk pigment was such a unique color that CP just didn’t have. (Or at the very least, wasn’t in my collection.) I do think the this combo gets pretty close. Recommend? I recommend both. Milk for the product, but not the $24 price tag and CP/MR for the price tag, but not for the specific color.

2020 Summer “Sweet Treats” Themed Makeup
2020 Summer “Sweet Treats” Themed Makeup
For those of us who live in the Southern Hemisphere, Summer is just around the corner, and things are already heating up, and it’s not just the weather, honey! In the next few months, half the world will be heading into springtime, and that brings fresh fashion, bright colours, and fierce makeup with it. Here’s how you can create a quick, easy, “sweet treats” themed makeup look to match your shining summertime personality. Complexion Work: For my base makeup, I used REVOLUTION - Fast Base Stick Foundation in shade F3. I concealed with the help of REVOLUTION - Conceal & Define Full Coverage Concealer in shade C1. I contoured my cheeks using Revlon Sculpt & Highlight Contour Kit, in shade light/medium. I then applied a soft layer of Juvia's PLACE - The Saharan Blush Palette shade Leena. I also used NYX - Strobe of Genius Holographic Stick in “Mermaid Amour” for an iridescent shine. Colourful Sweet Treats Eye Makeup: Moving on to the eyes, I used theMORPHE - The James Charles Palette for the whole look. I started off by packing on “Pinkity Drinkity” onto the inner half of my eyelid and crease. I then took a light dab of “Skip”, then more Pinkity Drinkity on the same brush to deepen the shade slightly and make it more of a soft but vibrant pink. For darker skin tones, you may want to use more Skip to create a brighter colour. Next up is shade “518”, which I took on a small blending brush and packed onto the outer corner of my eyelid, sweeping inward diagonally toward my lash line. Similarly, I pulled that orange shade outwards towards the tail of my brow, and softly blended it into my pink shadows. I also pulled some of 518 onto the outer third of my lower lash line. To complete the lower lash line, I used shade “Bee” to bring some lightness and brightness to the inner portion of my eye, blending it into 518 along the way. For a final pop of summery colour, I packed shade “Hello” onto a small pencil brush, and spritzed it with a setting spray, before packing it onto the inner corner of my eye. The super shiny effect of the shadow and its lustrous, tropical colour really added a fun and fabulous edge to the themed look. I finished the eyes off with a little black eyeshadow on the outer half of my upper lash line, and some MAYBELLINE - Volum' Express The Falsies Waterproof Mascara on my lashes, and there you have it! A quick, easy summer makeup look for all levels of makeup lovers. Would you like to see some “how to guides” for more wearable, colourful looks? Comment what colours you’d like to learn how to wear during the daytime!

since everyone has shifted everything to zoom, we still need to ensure we look cute but not over done! 😘 so this is a simple yet effective look over our webcam quality that will pop but still look super natural VESCA - Soft Sun Radiant Skin used the shade sunrise on my cheeks, chin and forehead for a simple glow under the look COVER FX - Power Play Foundation a matte foundation, go to during the summer that makes me look flawless without being cakey COVER FX - Power Play Concealer used to cover my under darkness first (I have a shade close to my skin for the darkness first) CLOVE+HALLOW - Conceal + Correct and then I use this to add back brightness cause we need to look awake lol 🤩 URBAN DECAY - The Velvetizer Translucent Mix-in Medium set my under eyes and slightly over my face to just keep it in place VESCA - Soft-Matte Bronzing Powder Kissed By a gem to use when adding a bit of depth to your face ( you don’t want to look bloated). Blends smoothly and legit the smallest amount goes a long way KENIA ONTIVEROS BEAUTY - Blush and Shine Kit highly pigmented blush and highlight palette for my dark skinned people 🤗 I used the shades xoxo & gemini on my cheeks and shade camera over my cheek bonesViolet Voss - Essentials Eye Shadow Palette I’ve only played with this a little but the shades are pretty nice in this! I used the deep brown shade blown out on my lid, into the crease and under my lash line for a soft smokey look. Then used the black shade to add a smudged liner on top MAYBELLINE - Lash Sensational Mascara Full Fan Effect the best mascara of all time 👏🏽 always add definition to the eyes especially important during meetings NYX - Slide On Lip Pencil use the shade red tape to softly outline my lips and then added the LANEIGE - LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask to add back hydration Super simple and the eyes pop without being too much and I love it! 🥰 also this is a perfect day time look for the fall with the soft blown out brown smokey eye! Tip: if you are lighter, choose a chocolate shade slightly deeper from your complexion for all over the lid and the same goes for any deeper skin tones than myself, choose a slightly deeper brown to add that smoke to the lid🍂 #cheriepartner

🌹pat mcgrath divine rose i review 🌹
i used this palette for the first time today and unsurprisingly, i love it. it’s so versatile – whether you‘re going for an everyday look or more dramatic glam, this palette has it. lighting – indirect sunlight application – fluffy brush, small blending brush, chisel brush, and fingers skin tone & undertone – light with neutral undertones other products used (eye only) – pretty VULGAR - Uncaged Eyeshadow Primer / Kokie - Be Bright Liquid Concealer / tarte - SEA Surfer Curl Volumizing Mascara texture & pigmentation – okay so WOW. these are so creamy and buttery. they glide on effortlessly, whether on a brush or fingers. the pigment is incredible. the mattes are bold yet buildable. and the shimmers. oh, those shimmers. never before have i applied a SINGLE layer of a shimmer and been happy with the result, i always have to build and build and build. but these are something else. otherworldly. then there’s the signature pat mcgrath shift shades. the iridescent, elusive color that you can’t quite pin down because it’s neither, it’s both. staying power – oh, it stays & slays. price – 125.00 usd. i bought this as part of a duo with divine rose ii as well as during a sale, so i paid considerably less. however, i do think it’s worth the money. the pans are larger than in other eyeshadow palettes i’ve used and because a little goes a long way in this case, i know this will last long. today, i used – velouria astral solstice vr rose venus refined gold 002 skinshow nude

SUMMER 2020 RED LIP MAKEUP LOOK
SUMMER 2020 RED LIP MAKEUP LOOK
Hey fam, here's a look that I never get sick of, especially for summer. I actually wore this exact look for my wedding last week 💍 It was perfect for the short ceremony at the city hall and formal enough for a nice dinner after. IMO you can never go wrong with simple eye makeup and a classic cool toner red lip! Here are the products I used: wet n wild - Photofocus Liquid Matte Foundation This is such a great affordable foundation that just works. I don't find it's very high coverage but that's exactly what I prefer. e.l.f. - Selfie Foundation Blurring Brush This makeup brush makes putting on foundation SO fast. It's actually converted me from makeup sponges back to brushes! URBAN DECAY - Original Eyeshadow Primer Potion Always makes eyeshadow last so much longer! NARS - Blush/Bronzer Duo I actually don't tend to use this as bronzer, but rather as eyeshadow. It's the perfectly slightly warm brown for a summery wash of colour over the eyelids. L'ORÉAL - Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara This is the most impressed I've been with a Western drugstore mascara for a while! However I do find it does flake a little towards the end of the day. MAYBELLINE - Brow Ultra Slim Defining Eyebrow Pencil I like how thin this is, again it makes everything so quick and easy for a great brow. benefit - 24-Hour Brow Setter Clear Brow Gel It took me a while to learn how to use this for my brows! It's a great brow gel but honestly overpriced for what it is. MAC - Ruby Woo Lip Duo My favourite red lip, ever. My lipstick version is actually from the limited edition Collab that Rihanna did with MAC. the Balm cosmetics - Mary Lou Manizer Luminizer Highlighter i have had this for so long, you can see it's well loved! Its my favourite highlighter, perfect for my skin tone.
