PSST... it's time for a SCALP DETOX! 🧖🏻♀️🌿
Be honest! When was the last time you used a clarifying shampoo? It's okay if never but I hope not everyday! I want to boldly express you should NOT use detoxing/deep cleaning shampoos everyday. Here's why.... all kinds of stuff builds up on your scalp after using products like hairspray, dry shampoo, heat protectant, etc. even regular shampoos & conditioners can leave behind a residue over time. This residue on your scalp can cause a lot of things, for some people (like myself) hair becomes greasy & limp. Others experience dry & dullness. That's why we have detoxifying products! They are removing buildup while purifying the scalp. The amount of time between deep cleaning depends on your lifestyle. For example I have mid length, color treated, wavy hair & I use this product 2x a month when I notice that I feel the need to wash more than my hair normally needs. But if you are a swimmer maybe you'll need to remove chlorine from your hair more often. Using them too often can become stripping and cause an imbalance of the natural oils in your hair. It's nice to be without buildup but your scalp needs to stay hydrated just like the rest of your body! Do research for YOUR hair type. If you do decide to incorporate a clarifying shampoo into your routine, here's some tips....
TWO ROUNDS OF CLEANSING! Same application as a regular shampoo but just double time. Allow the shampoo to sit in the second round so the residue can fully dissolve. You can repeat as many times as you feel necessary ONLY if you don't experience hair dryness.
USE A DEEP CONDITIONER AFTER! It's very important that you allow the hair & scalp to maintain their moisture.
COLOR TREATED HAIR IS SAFE! As long as you are not freshly out of the salon (at least 1 week after) you can clarify your hair! It will benefit you in the long run as long as you don't overdo it.Let's talk product.... KRISTIN ESS - Deep Clean Clarifying Shampoo
Clarifying Shampoo Superlatives
KRISTIN ESS - Deep Clean Clarifying Shampoo Bumble and bumble. - Sunday Clarifying Shampoo Christophe Robin - Cleansing Purifying Scrub With Sea Salt BEST SCENT – Kristin Ess Deep Clean Clarifying Shampoo This is a gel-formula shampoo which is targeted to clarify hair + scalp. This product is meant to be used about once a week to detox the scalp of any excessive product build up. It wins the best scent award because the fragrance on this shampoo is unreal. It is KE’s signature Translucent scent paired with fresh apples, you need to smell it for yourself. The product itself does exactly what it claims to do and leaves my hair feeling squeaky clean (just how I like it). As a girl with very oily hair, clarifying shampoos are a must, and at only $12 for 10 oz., I think this product is a steal! BEST OG – Bumble and Bumble Sunday Shampoo This is similar to the KE shampoo in almost all ways except for 2 critical components: scent and price. This shampoo doesn’t have a pleasant scent, but its not unpleasant either. It smells kind of chemical-like, but not in the worst way (hard to describe, but it doesn’t linger in your hair at all). Secondly, this shampoo is $26 for 8 oz., which is not terrible for a shampoo that will last you forever (since you’re only meant to use it about once a week), but after the KE release, I will definitely be purchasing that one before any others because of efficacy and price. This one was my HG clarifying shampoo for years though, and I still highly recommend it – just make sure it doesn’t get in your mouth at all because you will regret it, haha. BEST EXFOLIANT – Christophe Robin Purifying Scalp Scrub with Sea Salt I place this under the clarifying category because in my experience, it does the same thing as others, with the added benefit of exfoliation. Scalp exfoliation is something that I find completely necessary, and this is a great way to exfoliate and clarify at the same time. This one also has a really good fresh scent and I find that it leaves my hair very clean and shiny. The only downside is the price, at $53 for 8.7 oz.
Amazing hair products for my medium-dense hair!
Many people think that things with characteristics lie right in the middle is perfect, not too big nor small, or being thick or thin. There are actually a lot of issues as well for those with ‘middle’ stuff, like middle-age crisis and medium-density hair problems. Since we are talking about skincare and haircare stuff here, I really wanna share these two cute products from Maui Moisture, which is a brand I just fell in love with and especially friendly to my medium density hair. The Maui Moisture Shea butter shampoo and conditioner are two products I received from a gift package from a pharmacy and they target for dry and damaged hair. It contains coconut oil, macadamia oil and shea butter to nourish and repair the hair. Personally, I don’t dye my hair often so I assume I just have thick hair, in medium-density, sometimes oily on the roots. There are also some splits near the hair tips, another problem I worry about. I tried this shea butter shampoo and conditioner in the same shower and I have to say they are really different from the ones I am using. These Maui Moisture products smell so good! I can sense the blend of coconut and even some sweet tropical fruits in it to provide a balmy feeling. The lather is quite thick and that’s another aspect I pay attention to when using hair products. Still in the regular step, shampoo goes first and then conditioner but I leave on this replenishing conditioner on my hair for around 5 minutes, bit longer than usual. They are easy to put on and wash off and after blow-drying, I touch my hair and it feels so smooth and great, and I haven’t used my regular hair oil yet, which is astonishing. These two cuties work so well on my hair and I did not expect that at all! I have to say I gotta explore more on this brand and I think these are worth trying with their budget-friendly price. Hope this could help you out!
Maui MOISTURE-Heal & Hydrate + Shea Butter Conditioner
. 🧖🏽♀️ I was gifted this Deep Cleansing Scalp and Hair Scrub in Vanilla Coconut with Mangosteen Powder from @zionhealth. Sea salt is used as the physical exfoliator. It also contains several other natural ingredients such as coconut oil, argan oil, vitamin E, aloe, almond oil, clay minerals, etc. This product comes in two other scents – Pear Blossom and Green Apple. . First off, the smell is heavenly. It smells like a tropical coconut dessert in a tub. It’s a thick but gentle scrub that really foams up as you scrub your head/scalp. . I initially started using this product once/week as per recommendation but I found it too drying for my scalp as I noticed I was scratching my head a lot. I then transitioned to using it once every two weeks or so and I found this frequency more effective for me. The main change I noticed after using this product is that my scalp did not get as easily oily or “dirty” looking as before, which was helpful since I don’t shampoo my hair everyday. I have barely reached for my dry shampoo. . I naturally shed a lot of hair. With this scrub, I noticed that I would sometimes shed even more hair than usual as I rinse off my conditioner. I guess this makes sense because it is an exfoliator? . In terms of packaging, there seems to be a crucial piece of instruction missing on their packaging label. I have never used a hair scrub before and perhaps it is my naïve self that thought I would use the scrub after my shampoo and conditioner on my first use, like I would with a hair mask. This led to numerous, scary, tangles in my hair. On my second use, I used the scrub between my shampoo and conditioner, which is exactly the way you are supposed to use it (the complete instructions are on their website). So, it would really help if the complete instructions were included on the packaging label. . Overall, I am enjoying this product. Thank you @zionhealth for introducing a hair/scalp scrub into my routine. We all talk about the importance of exfoliating our skin, so our hair/scalp should also receive the same treatment! It makes sense to exfoliate our hair/scalp to scrub off dead cells, allowing for new and healthy hair growth! .

drugstore hair products that work! 🌟
I take really good care of my hair but sometime those products I use can become a pricey 💸😟 I’m always looking for products that are inexpensive but work well on my curly hair (3C) 👩🏽🦱 The Trader Joe’s Shampoo and Conditioner duo are some of the best products for dehydrated, dry and/or curly hair. The shampoo works great to cleanse the scalp but it can dry the hair out a bit more. I tend to use this when I need to clarify my scalp - usually once per week. The conditioner is super hydrating and is the perfect companion to the shampoo. It can be used as a regular conditioner, but also as a leave-in. It has great slip and makes my hair feel so soft! ✨ The newest product in my drugstore collection is the PACIfICA - Moon Cloud Overnight Repair Mask I do like this product, but I’m more sure if I love it. I tried it first as a deep conditioner and wasn’t impressed. So I tried it as an overnight treatment instead and got way better results! My hair was softer, more manageable, and it really did add in more hydration. I need to spend more time with this to figure out if it will become a staple, but if you’re looking for an overnight treatment for your hair, I would recommend. For a deep conditioner/mask, I would suggest the PACIfICA - Pineapple Hydrate Curl Nourishing Mask instead 💕 What are you favorite drugstore products? 😃 #CheriePartner

Wash-out vs. leave-in conditioner, and my choice is...
My hair is fine, flat and easy to get greasy and fuzzy. My hair is always medium in length, which makes it easier for me to manage my hair and create a hairstyle suitable for my fine hair. At the same time, I always focus on hair care. As I concerned, hair conditioner and leave-in conditioner are great treatment for hair care. I use one of them almost every time I wash my hair. Conditioner and leave-in conditioner strengthen my hair roots, smoothe fun and refresh every hair strands. My favorite hair conditioner isPANTENE - 3 Minute Miracle Daily Moisture Renewal Daily Conditioner. Just as its name, this conditioner can create a miracle change in your hair for only 3 minutes. This product helps reduce my hair dryness and repair my hair. It leaves my hair soft and the smell is amazing! It is for daily use. Simply leave on hair for 3 minutes, then rinse and feel the difference. The secret of creating a miracle is its powerful Pro-V formulas. It helps make weak hair healthy and strong against damage. This conditioner is cheap, $4.97, and you can get it from most market. OUAI - OUAI Leave-In Conditioner My favorite leave-in conditioner is from Ouai. This one is more expensive than Pantene, and costs $26 for 140ml. It is a leave in hair mist, infused with amino acid blend, tamarind seed extract, vitamin E and hydrolyzed proteins, to reduce frizz and flyaways for perfectly smooth, silky hair. With these active ingredients, this product functions to attract and retain moisture in your hair, and prepares your hair for styling the next day. I usually apply this before I go to bed. Spray it on the middle to the end of hair. Then gently comb all hair. Wait for a while for all conditioner sinking in. The next you will find your hair smooth and ready for styling. This product’s texture is as light as lotion. It is easy to be absorbed. If you are used to doing all hair care while washing your hair, then you can choose Pantene 3 Minute Miracle hair conditioner. This product is cheap and will amaze you by its effect. If you want to give your hair a long-term deep repairing treatment, you can choose the Ouai leave-in conditioner. By using this, your hair have the whole night to thoroughly absorb all nutrition given by conditioner. What kind of conditioner do you prefer?

Over-Exfoliated Skin: What To Do NextOver-exfoliation has a plethora of symptoms, ranging from redness and inflammation, tightness of the skin, dryness and flakiness, irritation bumps, rashes, breakouts, and a stinging sensation. With the rise in popularity of at-home chemical exfoliation, it’s easier than ever before to take it a step too far. Everyone is trying out TikTok-famous products like The Ordinary’s AHA 30% and BHA 2% Peeling Solution without an understanding of how strong it really is. Chemical exfoliation is all the rage now, due to its ability to clear up acne, even out the skin tone, and give you a glowy look. But none of these things will happen if you don't exfoliate properly!Sep. 29
