Week 4 of Tretinoin and Spirinolactone Journey

gigistar7
This is the end of my fourth week going on Spirinolactone (pills for hormonal acne that I take 1x a day) and Tretinoin. This first half is a repeat of last week’s post, though I have made some slight updates to my routine. The new info will be right below my posted routine. I purchased both treatments from Apostrophe, so they have been prescribed by a dermatologist. My Apostrophe cream formula is 0.025% Tretinoin and 4% Niacinimide. I’ve simplified my routine to only include an oil cleanser, a gentle cleanser, moisturizer, the tret cream, a sunscreen, and an occlusive . I have normal skin. I’m looking to add more in as I adjust to treatment. My routine is as follows: AM CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin
dear, klairs - Supple Preparation Unscented Facial Toner
COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence
CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin
Aveeno - Ultra-Calming Daily Moisturizer SPF 30
PM DHC - Deep Cleansing Oil
CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin
dear, klairs - Supple Preparation Unscented Facial Toner
COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence
(on non-tret nights) CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin
Apostrophe formula (using this after moisturizer so I can have a buffer between the tret and my skin) CeraVe - Healing Ointment
So I added snail mucin and a hydrating toner as part of my regular routine. I’m now switching to everyday use of tret, so I want to keep my moisture barrier intact as my usage increases. I’m using snail mucin in the mornings, and am considering using it at night along with tret. Is the snail mucin 2x a day even better it is it just overkill? I’m also using the Cerave healing ointment as an occlusive to seal in hydration and moisture as the last step of my routine. I’m definitely in the purging period. I’m seeing a lot of pustules and closed comedones show up. Super excited, because this is showing me that Tret is actually working and speeding up my cell turnover. I’m am concerned about the Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH) and the Post-Inflammatory Erythema (PIE) that will be left over after my acne subsides. Are there any products that for sure get rid of PIH/PIE. If you know of any, comment down below!

🥶 Solve Your Winter Woes of Dryness with LA MER
Genaissance de La Mer was released around 2017. If La Mer isn’t high end enough for you then their genaissance line might do it. As per all other la mer products, this one smells la mer-y too. It’s a “lotion l” but it’s not a chunky creamy kind. More like an emulsion, a watery milky texture that’s slippery when you first pour some out but after massaging into the face it changes to a velvety feel. That being said there is fragrance so watch out sensitive skin types! After putting this on you have a satin layer that looks like it sits on top of your skin. Like a freshly showered wet look. It does look kind of oily if you put too much so apply sparingly and just enough to what suits your skin the most. Though it’s oily it’s super charged with moisturizing effects from La Mer’s yum sea weed. Directions: After cleansing Take small amount and with fingertips massage and press gently into your skin. Follow up with the rest of your routine. At a $270 price tag - do you absolutely need it? No but I’ve owned this product for maybe almost 2 years now and it lasted me. It’s been sitting pretty waiting for the strike of winter. It doesn’t feel that hydrating so if you're looking for that I suggest snail essence from COSRX. However, nights are getting colder and winter is coming. It gets so windy where I live that my face gets so dry and chapped and the LA MER lotion is best suited to combat that and alleviate the pain. Hope you guys enjoyed this post and as always thanks for reading! PRODUCTS: COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence LA MER - Genaissance de la Mer The Infused Lotion

KBEAUTY SAVED MY SKIN🥰
I know tons of people now use Korean skincare products, however it’s been part of my routine for almost 4 years now and I haven’t looked back!☺️ SWIPE 👉🏽 for my raw skin!! Kbeauty is the one line of skincare I think everyone at least needs to try because not only is it affordable but the ingredients are insanely good and formulation is everything ✊🏽 it’s stuff you won’t get here from western brands, and if you do, it’s extremely overly priced When I first got into skincare to help with my acne, on a whim I decided to try a whole Korean line without even knowing. When my skin calmed down from using a line that had nothing to do with claiming to help you acne, I knew I had to do more research! 🥳 this is where I found out more about the kbeauty world and overtime, my collection has grown and these are some of my favourites💕 COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence an amazingly hydrating essence/serum gel that works wonderfully on damp skin kind of like a HA which has helped overall hydrate my skin, keep it plump and not dry it out + helps with any hyperpigmentation (it’s slow but effective) I'm from - Rice Toner another amazing toner that has rice extract and niacinamide added to really help hydrate and soothe the skin and immediately brighten my skin!! This is my go to morning toner and my second bottle because I’m in love!!❤️ THE FACE SHOP - Chia Seed Hydrating Lotion my pm toner snd the line that really started my kbeauty journey and helped completely clear my skin in a couple months! Chia seed is such a powerful ingredient in skincare and in food and my gosh is this hydrating and instantly soothing. I will forever to continue to buy from this line (especially the moisturizer) because I know it works for me all the time! I'm from - Mugwort Essence second bottle and I can never stop talking about it! After hearing about tea tree and it working sometimes for me, I found out about mugwort and how it’s referred to as the Korean tea tree but soothing and way less irritating and my gosh they got this right! One of my all time favourite products! I apply two layers am and pm and my skin instantly feels soothed and relaxed and also helps with any irritation or acne ☺️ COSRX - Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask I use this as a moisturizer during the night and even sometimes in the day! It’s super hydrating without being heavy. It also has some niacinamide for that brightening affect. It sinks right in and leaves your skin feeling moisturized and not greasy and my gosh, this is also wonderful under makeup! Again, kbeauty really knows what they are doing and my gosh, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to just stop using Korean skincare! #cheriepartner

FIRST POST/ONE WEEK RESULTS ✨
Hi there! I’m so excited to share my skincare journey with all of you and hopefully we can learn from each other’s experiences. I’ve already learned a lot from Cherie and that’s why I decided to purchase some products from The Ordinary and give them a try to save my skin. I have oily skin and as you can see I’m struggling with acne, dark spots, and dark circles. Not sure what type of acne I have, but it seems hormonal to me. I started to break out like this about two months ago. Before that, I’d break out once in a while during my period or when eating too much junk food. A week ago (Oct. 10th), I started the following skincare routine: AM - Cleanse Cetaphil - Cetaphil Gentle Foaming Cleanser - Treat The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG (I think I had a reaction to caffeine solution - my right eye started itching so I discontinued it from now) - Moisturize CeraVe - AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 PM - Remove makeup CeraVe - Makeup Removing Cleanser Cloths - Cleanse Cetaphil - Cetaphil Gentle Foaming Cleanser - Treat The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% - Moisturize CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin Please swipe to see the results so far! I’m really happy with The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% since it’s clearing out the acne. My face feels and looks better and I think there’s a small improvement. I’d love to hear your advice and suggestions! Also, I’d like to implement The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solutionand The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solutionto my skincare routine. Any suggestions on how/when to use them? Thank you in advance!

PRODUCTS I’VE BEEN USING FOR OVER 10 YEARS!
I have oily and sensitive skin, that has always been true for my skin even when I was a teen. Growing up i had stubborn acne that led to acne scars which then led to hyperpigmentation. While my acne has calmed down and I now only get the occasional hormonal breakouts but my hyperpigmentation is still here. There are a few products that my dermatologist had recommended to me as a teen that I love and use to this day even though my skin has changed. Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser - when I had sever acne as a teen my dermatologist prescribed me all types of cleaners for my skin to help reduce my breakouts. A bunch of the cleaners we tried had harsh chemicals and irritated and dried out my skin. Cetaphil gentle cleanser is a water based gel like cleanser that helps to wash away dirt and bacteria without those harsh chemicals that strip skin of moisture. CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin - this moisturizer is super lightweight and gentle. It is a white lotion that is hydrating but not greasy. Because my skin is so oily I didn’t want something that was going to add much more shine to my face but rather something that was going to keep my skin hydrated just enough so that my skin would over product oils as a result of a lack of moisture. DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel - the formula has changed a bit since I was a teen so I don’t think it is as effective now as it was back then. Before it was only available with a prescription and now you can buy it over the counter. It has a white gel like texture. This was a game changer for my acne. It really helped to reduce the appearance of my acne and dark spots. It is one of the only acne treatments that doesn’t irritate my skin. I try different skincare products from time to time but I always keep these 3 products stocked to fall back on when other products don’t work to plan. I would recommend these products to people with sensitive skin. #CheriePartner

Double cleansing can save your skin! 🌟
Let's talk about double-cleansing. 💦 I didn't see the purpose of this and didn't apply it to my skincare routine until two years ago. After all, applying an oil to my already oily skin was terrifying to me. 😰 DHC - Deep Cleansing Oil What is double cleansing? It's essentially what you think it is. Double cleansing means washing your face TWICE. The first cleanser is usually an oil-based one, followed by a water-based one. Or, you can use a water-based cleanser twice if you prefer. Is double cleansing necessary for everyone? 🤔Most skin types can benefit from double cleansing, and don't worry; you won't overdry your skin. If you have acne-prone or oily skin, double cleansing can be quite helpful. But, if your skin is on the drier side and you use makeup, double cleansing can still help you cleanse your face and maximize the power of your skincare routine. 1️⃣ Here's how double cleansing helps: - It melts away any makeup you have before using your cleanser without being too stripping. - It gets rid of any water-resistant products you use, like sunscreen, for example, so your water-based cleanser works best. - It helps your skin be prepared to soak-in the benefits from your cleanser and other products. 2️⃣ How to use an oil-based cleaner? Unlike your traditional cleanser, you apply this to your skin when it's DRY. Gently massage the oil into the skin and see how it starts melting away any makeup or product. Then, use a bit of water to emulsify the oil until you see it turning into a milk-type cleanser. THEN is when you go ahead and remove the cleanser with lukewarm water. Have questions about double-cleansing? Ask below! 👇

Is This The Oil I’ve Been Looking For?
I received this sample recently and after a day of wearing sunscreen and in need of a double cleanse, I thought “why not?”. Honestly, I don’t have much love for DHC - Deep Cleansing Oil , but I also don’t hate it. My issues mainly lie with the fact that the ingredients list essential oils, which is a no-no for skincare. Other than that, I don’t really have anything particularly negative to say about it but I also don’t think it has any properties that make it outstanding. Certain websites do have it a relatively affordable price, so that’s a plus.

LETS EXFOLIATE
This is my weekly Friday night DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial Mask routine. This is a AHA/BHA mask that helps with texture, wrinkles and tone. I only do this before bed bc I like to double cleanse before applying my mask. I typically double cleanse in the shower with BANILA CO - Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Nourishing and Kate Somerville - DeliKate Soothing Cleanser then apply PETER THOMAS ROTH - Cucumber Gel Mask Extreme Detoxifying Hydrator this mask is cooling and hydrating. I feel like this mask preps my skin for the exfoliation. When I get out of the shower I apply the DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial Mask I leave this on for the suggested 20min. I use a washcloth to rinse off the mask with warm water, then I apply my hydrating products. I love NATURIUM - Hyaluronic Acid Essence 2% and NATURIUM - Quadruple Hyaluronic Acid Serum 5% I use both of these products in my everyday routines to help keep my skin hydrated. I then lock in all the hydration by slathering on PAULA'S CHOICE - Omega+ Complex Moisturizer mixed with eitherNATURIUM - Virgin Marula Face Oil 100% or NATURIUM - Plant Squalane Face Oil 100% Last but not least I seal all these products in with CeraVe - Healing Ointment I feel like this pushes all the products in, like a sleeping mask. I have to lay on my back until it soaks in because it will get on my pillows. This weekly self care has really helped my skin texture and dark spots. I want to try the ordinary AHA/BHA next. I have used this once a week for the past 4 weeks, so far without any irratation. Tell me what you think about this routine down in the comments. ***I did not edit my before and after pics***

Cerave Healing Ointment AKA Dry Skin Saver😍
I’m using Tretinoin, which is absolutely amazing for acne and fine lines. However, it is also know for dry skin. At night time, I’ll use my retinoid (Tretinoin) and my moisturizer. Afterwards I’ll use the Cerave Healing Ointment to seal in moisture. While this may look super greasy, it can help sooo much with dry skin. I also recommend satin or silk pillowcases when using this product❤️

Cleansing oil, kose it or loose it?
KOSE COSMEPORT - SOFTYMO Speedy Cleansing Oil This bit$& let me down. I had high hopes. This product did not clean off make up as well as it claimed and I didn’t see any added benefits to my pores, skin, anything. I used the product for a month and nope nothing..... It has a weird olive oil scent which in all tranparency made me a bit nauseous🤢 TMI and it didn’t pair well with a hyluranic acid cleanser CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin I usually like to start with a cleansing oil then a foam cleanser. The oil also blocked pores and wasn’t fun to use. Also if you have CYSTIC acne I wouldn’t suggest this. And if you are having a bad day this kinda makes it worse in other words. If you are under a lot of stress(about to get real here) it doesn’t pair well with tears lol yes. The back story of this is that college life and relationships get to us. And an important face wash and moisturizer in my opinion take away stress from the face. However, the PEACH & LILY - Power Calm Hydrating Gel Cleanser that I switched to seemed to be sufficient enough for cleaning my skin and giving my skin a good protective barrier, however, if I put on my full face of make up then I need something to take away my powdered donut, so TATCHA - The Deep Cleanse Exfoliating Cleanser is unreal, how much grime, and make up it will take off with such a small amount. But for a cheaper alternative CeraVe - Hydrating Cream-To-Foam Cleanser but for this you should follow up with an exfoliant. I personally, have dry skin at the moment without makeup, so I have to be careful what I use because a lot of products strip everything from my skin. Okay lastly, I personally believe oil cleansing before a foam cleanser is not for everyone. Because I have seen some people have great success and me not so much. But in my experience learning how to exfoliate and cleanse your face is key. And truly understanding your face is key. I’m other words, focus on what your face needs. I feel that face masks twice a week that are for My SKIN conditions are vital to a nice well rounded well shall we say just great looking skin and let me just last note that this is too cool for school - Pumpkin 24K Gold Mask a holy of holy grails. This was incredible! Incredible! Incredible. Treat yourself and find relaxation you deserve it..

My Morning Accutane Routine
Hi! It’s me again! So this is my morning routine while on my accutane treatment. Thank you btw on all the positive feedback I’ve received! So my ultimate goal with this routine is to just do a basic cleanse and moisturize heavily due to the drying nature of my medication. I’ve mentioned most of these products before except for the African Black Soap. CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin A gem as always. RATA & CO. - Rose Water & Witch Hazel Facial Mist Toner She’s a queen. CeraVe - AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 boring but gets the job done ✅ HAWAIIAN Tropic - Silk Hydration Air Soft Ultra-Light Sun Lotion SPF50 I’m gonna switch this one out for something without added scents. But this works for the most part. Honestly it will not last all day, I’ve gotten sunburned while wearing this. SKYORGANICS - 100% Pure African Black Soap Body Wash NOW THIS... if you’ve had a rough couple of days where you’ve worn makeup and forgotten to wash your face a couple of times, this will deep cleanse you. I got it after seeing a lot of people recommending it on pinterest (ik but that was before i had this app) . It’s just a little interesting if it gets near your nose. Like it has this interesting burning sensation. And don’t wash open wounds with it because that also burns.

My Favorite Korean Skincare Products
🇰🇷 Korean Skincare has been gaining traction in the U.S. over the last several years and rightfully so. Korean skincare is typically affordable, effective, focused on hydration and sun protection, and several years ahead of the U.S. in trending ingredients. My combo dry skin LOVES the focus on hydration and I personally really enjoy a longer multi step k beauty routine. I typically et my k beauty products on YesStyle, Wishtrend, Amazon, or Sephora if it’s something like Laneige or Glow a Recipe. Here’s some of my favorite K Beauty products I currently have on rotation: (From top left to bottom right) 🇰🇷 Dr. Jart Ceramidin Cream: A very rich, barrier replenishing moisturizer for when my skin is dry or irritated. 🇰🇷 Glow Recipe Plum Plump Serum: An antioxidant rich gel texture hyaluronic serum. I use this daily. 🇰🇷 Mauve Fantastic Ever Cool Kids Never Sleep Cream: A water cream with some loud 80s packaging that I am LIVING FOR. This is a good dupe for the Tatcha Water Cream. 🇰🇷 Then I Met You Living Cleansing Balm: A barrier replenishing cleansing balm rich in sea buckthorn oil. 🇰🇷 Dear Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream: A cream gel consistency moisturizer with blue tansy. Great for calming any inflammation. 🇰🇷 Krave Oat So Simple Water Cream: A very lightweight water cream with soothing oats. 🇰🇷 Purito Centella Green Level Safe Sun: Get 👏🏻 Hip 👏🏻 To 👏🏻 This 👏🏻 Sunscreen 👏🏻 it’s like $8 and completely invisible and weightless. This is like my fourth bottle. 🇰🇷 Then I Met You Soothing Tea Cleansing Gel: An antioxidant rich mildly exfoliating gel cleanser. I feel very so so about this. It’s fine but I wouldn’t buy again. 🇰🇷 Laneige Cream Skin Toner: A milky hydrating toner with meadow foam seed oil. 🇰🇷 Dear Klairs Supple Preparation Toner: An incredibly hydrating and plumping watery gel consistency toner. 🇰🇷 Amore Pacific Treatment Enzyme Peel: A richly foaming powder enzyme cleanser gentle enough for every day use.

Toner or essence? Why not both?!
Now I was very hesitant about buying a toner because I have dry skin and the toners I’ve tried before just kinda make me break out or I don’t notice a difference. But let me tell you this baby is not a toner. It has almost a watery slime consistency and when I put it in my palm, rubbed my hands, and patted it on my face wow. This baby made my skin baby smooth and soft. I got the unscented because I don’t think my skin will do well with essential oils and I didn’t want to risk it. But let me tell you this is my new favorite addition to my skincare routine! I am going to love love love this baby when winter hits me and my skin gets drier. However now it’s just a nice refreshing addition of how to my face I highly recommend my dry skin gals check this out if they’re looking for a new toner/essence hybrid. Amazing stuff! 5/5 Korean skin care for the win!!! Bonus points it’s really not that expensive I believe I got the small bottle to try it out because they have a bigger one and it’s a good bang for your buck!

4 days using smacne
The top are photos from 4 days ago. Bottom are pictures I took this morning. I started using SMACNE - Acne Treatment 30 Day Kit 5 days ago (see previous post). It seems to be really improving my skin. I’ve also added Aveeno - Ultra-Calming Daily Moisturizer SPF 30 as a moisturizer and sunscreen I’ve been using Aquaphor - Aquaphor Healing Ointment for really dry spots (between my eyebrows got a little flaky today) Along with some Aloe Vera to help soothe my skin. I’ve been trying to use my jade roller once a day. Any opinions on if I should add The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling SolutionI have it at home already just don’t know if I should add something else to an already new face wash. I’ve used the ordinary a couple times in the past but I’m not sure if it really helps my skin or not. I stopped using LANEIGE - Water Sleeping Mask because even though I have loved it and really thought it worked wonders for my skin, it has been the only thing I’ve keep consistent since before and after my acne got bad so I figured maybe I should go without it for a while. Tonight my skin has felt a little more itchy and irritated, should I be concerned? Do I need to stop using any products? Any advice or opinions are greatly appreciated!!

Week 3 of Tretinoin and Spirinolactone Journey
This is the end of my third week going on Spirinolactone (pills for hormonal acne that I take 1x a day) and Tretinoin. This first half is a repeat of last week’s post. My routine is as follows: AM CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin Aveeno - Ultra-Calming Daily Moisturizer SPF 30 PM DHC - Deep Cleansing Oil CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin Apostrophe formula (using this after moisturizer so I can have a buffer between the tret and my skin) CeraVe - Healing Ointment Can we say progress that only I really see?! I love how the texture on my forehead and cheeks is getting smoother as time goes by. A lot of the redness I was dealing with has gone down as well. Also, my smile lines aren’t as prominent as before, which is nice. I just transitioned to using Tretinoin every other day, and so wanted to add some minor adjustments to my routine to make sure my skin was getting the hydration it needs. As you increase your usage of any active, you must similarly use more products that can help hydrate and and keep your skin hydrated. I needed to add an oil cleanser to my routine for to make up for this summer heat, and the sweat 😓 that results. My skin always feels so grimy so I needed an gentle cleanser I could add on to my routine. I’m also using the Cerave healing ointment as an occlusive to help seal in moisture on the days I’m not using Tretinoin to protect my moisture barrier. I feel like I could begin to purge soon, as I’ve been noticing some whiteheads appearing in areas I already have acne in and in the exact spots I have had breakouts in the past.

SAVE MY SKIN!!!
SAVE MY SKIN!!!
I’m 18 and my breakouts started happening when i used this one moisturizer. I stopped but it left a bunch of acne marks and continued multiple zits. I then used this serum for the acne but it also made my face break out. I stared researching skin care routines and started using Paulas Choice. Right now I only use a cleanser, toner, exfoliate (2 days a week), and then my morning sunscreen/night moisturizer that’s CereVe. I’ve been using this routine for about a month and i still don’t see a huge difference or clear skin. ✨ ACNE ROUTINE ✨
✨ ACNE ROUTINE ✨
~ Saved my skin in less than a week ~ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ After my skin was utterly destroyed a while back, I decided to take this opportunity to see how truly effective my skincare routine actually was. Here's what we're playing with: cystic acne, fungal acne, whiteheads, enlarged and irritated pores, flakiness, redness, dark spots, acne scars. The first pic is me now. You can still see the scars a bit on my cheeks, but they're fading fast. The second pic is me about a week ago. You can't really tell, but my forehead is COVERED in fungal acne. So is the area around my nose and under my lower lip. NIGHT ROUTINE: Cleanser: YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser - Lathers nicely, a little goes a long way - Nice smell, doesn't sting eyes - Balances my combo skin extremely wrll- never feels tight or oily Toner: THE inkey LIST - Polyhydroxy Acid (PHA) Gentle Exfoliating Toner - Sticky but worth it - PHA is a gentler exfoliant than AHA and BHA, so you can use it everyday - 3% niacinamide!! Really helped with my dark spots and acne scars - Unexpectedly helped manage my redness and pores as well! - USE SUNSCREEN EVERY DAY, especially with any active ingredients like niacinamide Treatment cream: Neutrogena - Rapid Clear Stubborn Acne Spot Gel - Super drying (use a good moisturizer in the morning) - No weird fragrance - Doesn't make skin itch or burn (a lot gentler than salicylic acid) - Really helps with cystic acne Oil: now - Solutions Jojoba Oil - Helped me purge a few months ago (mimics sebum production and this regulates it), now it's a staple in my routine - Depending on skin type, be careful when introducing oil to your routine Cream: MARIO BADESCU - Seaweed Night Cream - Smells disgusting - Looks disgusting - Fake fragrance, fake color, blegh - BUT IT WORKS SO WELL; hasn't broken me out, really helped with redness on my cheeks and around my nose - This product's still on my sketch radar though Spot treatment: MARIO BADESCU - Mario Badescu Drying Lotion - Has calamine; calamine helps with yeast infections, which are what cause fungal acne breakouts - Has alcohol; burns like a mofo, but skin surprisingly isn't irritated come morning - Works extremely well on ...everything - 11/10 would recommend DAY ROUTINE: Same cleanser and toner with the addition of a lotion instead of a dream and sunscreen. Lotion: MARIO BADESCU - Hydro Moisturizer With Vitamin C - Face ways seems super plump after I use this *winks in vitamin c - No fragrance! - Super lightweight, non-greasy Sunscreen: MyChelle dermaceuticals - Sun Shield Liquid SPF 50 - Minimal white cast (unavoidable with zinc, but zinc is, IMHO, the best physical sunscreen ingredient, and this is the best sunscreen I've found so far) - Smells quite nice, actually - Non-comedogenic, non-greasy - MATTE, WOOHOO That's the tea ☕😌

Can someone rate/review my skincare routine?
Hey everyone! Throughout the years I have been sucked into skincare trends and marketing to try and help my skincare concerns. Although trying many different products, I haven’t noticed any difference in my skin. So within the past couple months I have started to do research online and watching Skincare By Hyram. I have gradually been buying products that are highly recommended and wanted to know what you guys think. I have combination/oily skin, acne-prone skin, hyperpigmentation on my cheeks and chin, and tiny bumps on my forehead and around my mouth (which I think is fungal ance?) The products that I am using atm are: AM: CeraVe - Salicylic Acid Facial Cleanser The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% CeraVe - AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 PM: GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Cleanser & Waterproof Makeup Remover I use this with a cotton pad to take off the makeup and sunscreen. CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin **Please let me know what I am doing wrong, what I need to add, or any tips for acne/hyperpigmentation! Thanks!!

So I should start by saying I’ve been meaning to see a dermatologist for like 2 years because my situation has just gotten worse and worse. But I’m looking for some RELIEF... I have pretty red, sensitive, textured, dry skin. I stopped using a face scrub about a year ago when a esthetician friend turned me onto skin script products. They helped me for about 9+ months! My redness and texture were minimized and breakouts were never a huge concern. But I’ve moved to a different climate since and I can’t get my face to settle down much. I’ve used SkinScript cleanser, anti aging serum, toner, and lotion for a while and my skin seems to be immune to it now (this happens all the time, something will work great for a few months or so then I restock because I love it and BOOM my skin says “nope I’m over it” so I’m at a loss). I’ve recently been using this app to try new things and I’ve added a couple Dr. Jart products that feel amazing, I just need help as to what to add next! I have pretty textured skin, I don’t get much acne except for the occasional on my forehead and the white heads all over my cheeks. I want some hydration for the night time so I don’t wake up with bone dry skin, and something soothing for inflammation I get. I’m slightly positive I have rosacea But I obviously haven’t had a DR confirm. Thanks for reading. Pics are of what I’ve been using and liking.

Thoughts on Morning Skincare Routine?
Thoughts on Morning Skincare Routine?
Hey everyone! I’m so impressed with the Cherie community and how much I’ve learned from others on this site already that I thought I would share my morning skincare routine! For context: I am a 24 year old who in the past year has struggled with moderate adult acne (only along the chin/jawline). In the past few months I have become very passionate about skincare and finding a skincare routine that works for me! Please leave any comments below if you have suggestions for me to add/replace in my routine! I am still somewhat new to the skincare community so any and all suggestions and comments are welcome!!☺️ First I cleanse with CeraVe - Acne Foaming Cream Cleanser while I am in the shower and I leave this cleanser on for about 2 minutes before washing it off. I love benzoyl peroxide because I found it is one of the only ingredients to be effective in fighting acne (salicylic acid didn’t do the trick😭). Second I follow with The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution for my daily exfoliation. I know it’s controversial to use glycolic acid in the morning but I’ve had a lot of people tell me it’s okay to do as long as you are following it up with a good moisturizer and sunscreen! I have some acne scarring (just redness) along my chin and jawline and I have found overtime this product has worked wonders to diminish those scars! Third I use 1% clindamycin which was prescribed by the doctor for my acne and it has been absolutely amazing combined with the benzoyl peroxide! Fourth I apply NATURIUM - Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2% I love this formulation and I use it mainly to help with the acne scarring that has occurred. Although it can be a little sticky, it gives your face a really nice glow that I just love. Fifth I apply NATURIUM - Vitamin C Super Serum Plus this product contains a cocktail of fabulous ingredients, and I find that the combination of this with the Niacinimide has just strengthened my skin. Sixth I apply one of my favorite products ever CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin This product has been a life savior as it is non-comedogenic, fragrance free, and so hydrating! Truly an incredible product! Finally I apply elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 I absolutely love this sunscreen because it’s formulated by dermatologists specifically for people with sensitive or acne proned skin. I absolutely love that it comes in a tinted version so it doesn’t leave a white cast, and it’s a great base for makeup! My one complaint is that it is a bit expensive for a small bottle. However, if you’re willing to pay the money it’s definitely worth it! That’s my routine! Please comment and let me know what you think/suggestions you have:)
