A Spot Treatment Face Mask? YES!
It's #FacemaskFriday! 🌟Listen, everyone's skin goes crazy from time to time. Stress, changes in eating habits, even #WFH, and being exposed to different air particles can affect how your skin behaves. Face masks are a great way to tell your skin you're in control and to calm the F down. You're probably familiar with this pink mask I'm using here. But, you know it as a spot treatment or a drying lotion for those unexpected pimples that LOVE to show up whenever we have an important day coming up. However, at least once a month, I try to use this lovely tiny product as a FULL face mask. Yep, you heard that right. I use the spot treatment ALL OVER my face. Why? Well, this one, in particular, has 3 ingredients that make it the perfect face mask: 1) Salicylic Acid helps exfoliate and unclog my pores. 2) Sulfur absorbs excess oil. 3) Calamine helps soothe and calm my skin. Those three ingredients are the best way to press the reset button on your pimples and breakouts. Here's what I do: - Grab your favorite spot treatment lotion. I'm using the classic spot lotion by @mariobadescu - Instead of applying the treatment on your pimples, apply it all over your face - Wait at least 10-15 minutes - Wash thoroughly and follow with your usual skincare routine - IMPORTANT, make sure you end your routine with sunscreen! Even if you do this at night since most spot treatments make skin ultra-sensitive Alright, there you have it. Have you tried this before? Are you going to try it? Kate Somerville - EradiKate Acne Treatment This acne spot treatment contains the highest level of Sulfur allowed in order to reduce acne and help keep skin clear of new breakouts. Most effective when applied to affected areas as soon as blemishes or pimples are noticed. Target concerns include blemishes, pores, & oiliness. It has two layers (clear & pink layer where the pink layer is on the bottom). DO NOT SHAKE THE BOTTLE. What we want is to engulf the q tip with the pink layer. Upon application on skin, it has a lightweight watery consistency with tingling sensation. It doesn’t take long for it to dry down. As some of you may know, cystic hormonal pimples are the worst and can last for weeks without a head & before one leaves another one decides to come! So I needed to find a product that works. I’ve tried many spot treatments but I have to say this is my favorite due to how effective it is! It is more drying than the previous ones I’ve tried but it works a lot better! It’s strong! I apply this at the last step on top on my moisturizer and it still works well! If you have dry skin, a good moisturizer will help a lot (since my skin is slowly changing from combo to combo dry as the weather is getting cooler). After having this guy come into my life, these pesky pimples are more manageable and less inflamed! And most importantly, no irritation from this strong little guy. At $26/1oz, I totally think it’s worth it! It is a few bucks more than other spot treatments in the market but with this guy, I can totally feel it working. I highly recommend it if you don’t mind the tingling feeling! There are others that work slower and doesn’t give off a tingling feel. But I personally love feeling it’s working so 5 stars!

PEACE OUT - Acne Healing Dots This patches just like the name suggests is for getting rid of acne! These are my first ever experiences with acne patches since I usually just pick at my face. I know! I can’t help it! Ever since I bought these I have picked on my face less and less. These healing dots contain salicylic acid which is the main component to kicking acne-causing bacteria. Also contains Vitamin A which helps with healing and Aloe Vera which calms and soothes irritation and redness. Make sure to have a clean face before putting this sucker on. Leave it on for 6 hrs or overnight. Peel it off and see all the nasty funk that’s on the dots. In my experience they have made my pimple less painful and it has shrunk in size! I recommend it to those who are pimple pickers like me! Stop picking on the acne and say peace out acne with these healing dots.

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion
I seriously can not say enough good things about this product. This is a must have product for me. This is a powder that is suspended in a clear liquid. It is a fast acting acne spot treatment made with salicylic acid and calamine. I was recommended this product by a friend who told me it worked overnight to remove her whiteheads. This has been gentle to my dry sensitive skin and truly shrinks down if not completely removes my blemishes. I dip a q-tip into the liquid until I reach the bottom powder and apply it to my blemish. It is $17 for a 1 oz bottle which lasts forever!

(PEACE OUT) ACNE HEALING DOTS
PEACE OUT - Acne Healing Dots are little dots meant to be placed over individual pimples to help draw out the goopy stuff and heal them faster. they use salicylic acid to clear out acne-causing bacteria in pores, aloe vera to soothe redness, and "hydrocolloid polymer technology" helps draw out impurities. i love these little gummy-feeling patches, they're some of my favorite acne patches i've ever tried. i've gone through a couple packs of these, they're great to slap on a big mountain before bed and wake up to it largely reduced by the morning. i think they're really useful, and honestly it's kinda gross but cool to see all the yucky stuff on the patch in the morning. i'd recommend it to anyone, from people who are prone to acne to the occasional pimple because they're really nifty to have on hand. you get 20 patches for $19 on their website, which is almost $1 a patch so like......eh. not horrible. not cheap to keep repurchasing though, either. 4/5 stars.

Best acne spot treatment on the market!
Kate Somerville - EradiKate Acne Treatment Kate Somerville’s Eradikate acne spot treatment is the most potent and effective spot treatment on the market, in my opinion. This beauty features 10% sulfur, BHAs to unclog pores, and zinc oxide. This treatment really ZAPS acne spots immediately and improves the redness and overall appearance of the pimple. This treatment is typically meant to be used over night, but can be used during the day as well. Eradikate is meant for any skin type that is struggling with congestion and acne spots. I have had the same bottle for over a year now, have used it countless times, and it still isn’t completely empty! I love the packaging design and texture of this treatment. The packaging is a simple glass bottle, but there is a layer of alcohol on top of the actual product, which keeps sanitation in tact. To use, you are to dip a cotton swab down through the alcohol layer, sanitizing the swab, and down into the pink drying solution. On the Q Tip it feels like a wet clay texture, that you smooth onto the pimple or congested area, and then it quickly dries down. I love that this spot treatment is super effective, but also stays put overnight and doesn’t flake off all over the place. In the morning, my acne spots are either dried out completely, or significantly diminished in size. I can’t rave about this product enough! Eradikate is sold for 26 USD per the 1oz bottle. Since I very frequently use this treatment, and the bottle has lasted me a year, I would say the price point is great! This product will last a long time even with daily use. I do want to add that I find this potent and effective, but it is gentle on my inflamed skin and never leaves a congested area more angry than it was. I highly recommend this product!

An adhesive patch with 24 dissolving micro-darts (a clever technology used in medicine) that penetrate the stratum corneum + epidermis to deliver ingredients into the skin to target under-the-skin pimples. The microdart delivers a nice balance of active + soothing agents, with Salicylic Acid doing the heavy lifting in dissolving build-up within the pore, Niacinamide to reduce inflammation, Hyaluronic Acid to hydrate + Oligopeptide-76 that can potentially target breakouts due to its anti-microbial properties. It’s a step-up from your traditional hydrocolloid pimple patches + definitely an interesting technology making its way into skincare! 🔍 HOW TO USE: The patches also come with pre-treatment wipes with Alcohol, Salicylic Acid + Tea Tree Oil. These are recommended to be used first to sanitise the area before using the patch. Personally, I wasn’t a huge fan of these wipes + after 2 uses opted to use the patch on its own on cleansed, dry skin. After removing all the packaging, press the patch onto the breakout for atleast 10-15 seconds for good adherence. I prefer to use them overnight, but they are pretty imperceptible so can be used in the day too! The micro-darts take approximately 2 hours to dissolve (it’s quite cool - you’ll see it happening) so it’s recommended to leave the path on for a minimum of 2 hours. 🔍 MY EXPERIENCE. When they work, they are ace. In my experience, cystic pimples are almost impossible to treat topically with traditional ingredients (Salicylic Acid, Benzoyl Peroxide, Retinol, etc) - I’ve only found success with LED treatment which can still take a week or so with daily use to completely flatten a cystic pimple. If you catch it early enough with a Zit Sticka Patch, overnight the inflammation is visibly reduced and sometimes, completely flattened. On the occasions where the inflammation is reduced, 1-2 more treatments with the patch usually completely flattens the cyst. The downside is that I find it to be a very small window to catch the zit. I’ve found if it’s applied too late, it instead doesn’t work or brings the inflammation to the surface. This isn’t always a bad.
