When it comes to anti-aging products, vitamin C serums top every list out there. From fading dark spots and hyperpigmentation to improving firmness, diminishing fine lines, and brighten up your complexion, vitamin C does it all. Not to mention, vitamin C is an excellent antioxidant, which means it shields the skin from environmental radicals like air pollution. The latest serum to jump on the vitamin C love wagon? Banana Bright™ Vitamin C Serum by Ole Henriksen. More about Banana Bright Vitamin C Serum Specifically, this serum uses Ethyl Ascorbic Acid, which is a more potent version of traditional Vitamin C. The blend of PHA helps with a gentle exfoliation to lift dry skin cells and make room to newer skin beneath. Finally, the hyaluronic acid is there to seal everything together and make sure your skin has the right barrier to prevent moisture loss.

Perhaps one of the best aspects of this serum is its consistency and scent. The blend of orange and lemon oils gives it a refreshing scent that will wake you up every morning. Think of this has a very lightweight serum that comes on like a milky water-based serum. Before & After Challenge Did you know that vitamin C skin sensitivity is relatively common? You don’t have to fall under the “sensitive skin” category to have an allergic reaction. Vitamin C-infused products can cause red bumps, itchy skin, and whiteheads. After a lot of trials and errors with vitamin C products, I’m 99.9% sure I fall under the category of people with skin allergic to vitamin C. After seven days, I had mixed feelings about the results. On the one hand, yes, my skin was somewhat brighter, and you can tell a few of my acne scars started fading away. On the other hand, remember my vitamin C sensitivity? Well, this brought that up. My skin went into full-blown redness chaos. I had almost like a rash of tiny whiteheads on my cheeks and jawline. It felts as if I used a powder exfoliator and left it on. I stopped using the serum. I might give it a few weeks before trying again, this time with a slower incorporation timeline approach. 😊Why I multi-mask 😊
First let me say, not all areas of your face need the same type of care, and attention. For me, my chin has broke out bad this week thanks to Aunt Flo. Anyway I needed a detox for my chin, while the rest of my face didn’t really need much, but I have dark spots I’m targeting with The Ordinary chemical peel. If I felt like my T-zone was oily or a little dry, I would have used 3 masks. The key is to listen to your skin! Normally I’d just use one mask, but my chin really needed something targeted for detox. Since I don’t have sensitive skin I left them on for 10 minutes before washing off. If you have sensitive skin use for 5 minutes, and always so a small patch test to make sure you won’t react. Also they make an acid neutralizer, that would be handy to have as a just Incase. Second, I use a calming face serum after. It really helps with any redness that might occurs from the masks (mind you redness is normal, just make sure that you use sunscreen because your skin will be more sensitive to sun) then i follow up with a vitamin C serum then I finish off with sunscreen. When I do a mask like this I really try to keep the after care simple, yet replenishing, and protecting. These are the products I used and why I choose them. First I wash, I double cleansed this time. I used youthificarion face wash, then the CeraVe - Acne Foaming Cream Cleanser I chose the youthification, simply because of the ingredients, all organic and it really helps my skin. Then I chose the cerave because it’s such a gentle cleanser for me and with the ingredients targeted for acne I’ll take all the help I can get. I used AZTEC SECRET - Indian Healing Clay on my chin and the The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution and I explained why above 😊 I finished with the youthification night serum for the calming properties of the ingredients. And the OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Vitamin C Serum and I use vitamin c because it helps even skin tone and brightens skin. Then I finished with the sun bum - Face Lotion SPF 50 I chose this sunscreen because it’s chemical, Not mineral. In short mineral sunscreen leaves the white cast on your face while the chemical sunscreen absorbs into your skin. And it pairs best with my products, I don’t get the pilling like I did with mineral sunscreen. (Pilling is when your products sort of roll into balls and off your skin.) ⭐️ Antioxidant Serum 🍊
⭐️ Antioxidant Serum 🍊
One of my favorite Antioxidant Serums is the OLEHENRIKSEN Vitamin C Truth Serum ⭐️Function ⭐️is an antiaging serum formulated with vitamin C and collagen for brightening and all-day hydration. It’s enriched with orange and green tea extracts. ⭐️Target / Concerns ⭐️ helps with dryness , dullness and uneven texture . Also makes the skin firm . ⭐️Texture & Consistency ⭐️ as shown in second picture , this is a gel like substance with an orange color . It feels fresh on the skin & absorbs quickly ⭐️My opinion ⭐️ I love this stuff smells amazing ! If you like oranges 🍊! I love how this serum is not too sticky or thick . I’ve only been using for a month but I can definitely tell my skin looks much brighter and my dark acne spots have faded significantly . I tried this at Sephora and decided to give it a try . This product is priced at $49 for 1 oz which compared to other vitamin C serums in my opinion is a good price . . Sephora currently has a set with this a mini of this serum and two other of their products for $38 . That’s such a great way to try out their Vitamin C line . Definitely recommend #OLEHENRIKSEN - Truth Serum[goods]#[FiveStars]

Love this Vitamin C
Love this Vitamin C
For the fact that it has citrus fragrance might be a little disappointment for people with sensitive skin, other than that this serum has been heavenly helpful in reducing dark spots, pigmentations caused by sun exposure! Also undeniable fact this adds life to skin absolutely amazing for everyday skin brightening!!!

The latest "it" product to keep your skin young
The latest "it" product to keep your skin young
When this product hit the market, I was hearing about it left and right. I finally got my hands on it and have been using it for about a month and omg... my skin. It's honestly transformative. It's a small bottle that's jam packed with antioxidants like vitamin C and E, and paired with ferulic acid to help maximize antioxidant performance. The packaging tells you to apply 4-5 drops in the morning after cleansing your skin, but I usually do about 6-7 drops every morning on clean skin because I apply it to my neck area as well. You can apply your moisturizer and sunscreen after. The consistency of the product is semi-dry. It's not watery or serum like, but more like a dry oil. It dries quickly so you want to make sure you quickly pat it onto your skin or it'll get absorbed by the skin on your hands. It has a very light scent, doesn't aggravate my skin either and I have sensitive skin. I also have acne prone skin and this does not make me break out. I can honestly say that after a month of use my skin looks brighter, healthier, and just fresh and dewy. a 1 oz bottle runs for $166. So it is on the pricier side, but it's honestly so worth it. I've always trusted the brand as all of their products are very science driven. Everything has been heavily tested so I know that it will usually perform on my skin as stated on the container. If you have dark sun spots, or want to tighten your skin, this is always a great product for that. It's honestly a holy-grail bottle that can address so many different skin concerns. I think it's a must in any skincare regime. SKINCEUTICALS - C E Ferulic With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C Serum

Kylie Skin Vitamin C
Kylie Skin Vitamin C
The Kylie Skin Vitamin C serum ended up being a total surprise to me. This vitamin c is targeted for all skin types, and I think that holds true with how the product feels and performs. It is meant to brighten and improve the appearance of dull skin. It also contains antioxidants which work to help vitamin c work. The texture is a light cream/gel which feels light on the skin and sinks in quickly. It is not a very runny product which I like as many vitamin c products can be a bit oily. The form of vitamin c used in this product is Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate. This form of vitamin c is stable, but less effective than other forms of vitamin c. As a result, it is not as harsh and can be used on sensitive skin (which I can attest to as my skin is rather sensitive). I have been using this AM only every morning for about 2 months now and have been pleased with the results. I think my skin looks brighter overall, and think it has helped fade some acne marks in conjunction with a few other products. I decided to try this because I saw it in Ulta and was in need of a new vitamin c. I was really pleasantly surprised, especially considering a lot of the backlash that Kylie Skin received at its launch. The cream is hydrating and non drying. It isn’t very strong. It didn’t cause any breakouts for me. The ingredients list is quite short and there doesn’t seem to be a ton of unnecessary ingredients in this which I think is why it works well for my finicky skin. There is also no additional fragrance added to this product so it does smell a bit stinky (as do all unscented vitamin c products). I would recommend this to anyone looking for a mild form of vitamin c that works and is still gentle. If you are looking for a strong vitamin c product, this probably is not for you. This retails for $28USD for 20ml which is on okay value to me. I would rather prefer this to be the same price for 30ml but it’s not terrible in my opinion. KYLIE COSMETICS - Vitamin C Serum

TATCHA - Violet-C Brightening
TATCHA - Violet-C Brightening Serum 20% Vitamin C + 10% AHA After trying Drunk Elephant’s Vitamin C serum, I was not really a fan and needed to try something new. I got a sample size when this first came out and was blown away. The glow is real. My skin and most Tatcha products just agree and are best friends. After seeing such good results I bought the 30 ml bottle. It is at a steep $88, but let me tell you, I repurchased 3 times already. This is a vitamin C derivative 20% blend. Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) has antioxidant properties and has a role in collagen synthesis. So essentially it aids in skin’s natural regeneration process, getting rid of damaged skin cells. It helps brighten the skin General rule of thumb is, the lower the percentage the more gentle, but less potent effect. The higher the percentage (like 20%) the more potent (potentially irritable to the skin), but less stable, that is why products have stabilizing agents or sometimes expire more quickly. That is why it is important to keep them out of light. Packing is very important. After 20% theres not really added extra potency/effectiveness. That said, Bis-Glyceryl Ascorbate (2nd top ingredient in Tatcha’s Vitamin C, meaning truly filled with it), is a ascorbic acid derivative produced by binding ascorbic acid to glycerin (HUMECTANT = DEEP MOISTURE). It has a higher permeability (GETS DEEP INTO THE SKIN). Let me tell you, the texture, my skin drinks it up. Its a watery consistency that melts into your skin. It contains fruit AHA’s 10% so this means the acids effectively remove buildup of dead skin cells for radiant skin. And of course Tatcha’s Japanese Angelica root extract, a herbal medicine to aid skin recovery, target dark spots, discoloration and post acne scarring. Which i have noticed a huge difference. I was a pizza head in college and highschool and my skin turnover has been dramatic. I have noticed smoother, radiant skin, improvement in skin tone, texture, and fine lines. I know its a splurge, but its so worth it. I like it more than Drunk Elephant’s Vitamin C, which i know is widely popular. But I think this one is better, more gentle yet effective. I would recommend to a friend if they’re looking for a good Vitamin C serum.
