Learning to Embrace the Process! πŸ€—
Learning to Embrace the Process! πŸ€—
As a skincare blogger I struggle with embracing the process. My battle with acne is a long-lived one. I know that I can pump my body with antibiotics and steroids and it will make it go away. That’s the problem, I’ve done it and I know it qonty be enough. I did a full course of accutane and my acne still hunts me. Curology worked for a bit but my acne is still there. This time, I’m taking it slow. I’m changing diet, taking probiotics, watching my stress levels. The process is slower, but I’m learning to embrace it. I’m also looking at photos more than what I can see in the mirror. I DO believe I struggle with acne dysmorphia or at least a version of it. I’m aware that what I see is not really what’s there and that’s something I have to work towards improving. One step at a time. I hope my journey inspires yours.

Beginners! Skincare kits are your BFF! πŸ‘―β€β™€οΈ 🌟
Are you a skincare newbie? Kits are your best friend! 🀩 At first, it can be exciting and fun to want to mix and match all your favorite skincare products. After all, you see beauty bloggers basically using a different brand for every step in their skincare routine. While there's nothing wrong with that, things can go south pretty quickly. When you don't know exactly what goes well with what and how to blend different ingredients, you could be cooking a recipe for disaster. Skincare kits are your best friends if you don't know how to mix and match ingredients and products. They're also an excellent way to start learning about a new brand and see if your skin likes their products. With time, education, and some practice, you'll be able to create your own skincare sets. Are you #TeamSets or #TeamMixing? πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡

Become an Oil-Based Cleanser PRO! πŸŒŸπŸ’•
While double cleansing can be a fabulous way tocare for your skin. SO MANY people think using an oil-cleanser works the same way as a water based cleanser. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ How to use an oil-based cleanser: Apply it to your DRY skin. Use one or two pumps of product. Gently MASSAGE it on your skin for at least 30 seconds. Most oil-based cleansers are safe to use over your eyes. But they might cause a bit of irritation. Then use a TINY BIT of water to emulsify the oil. This will help it turn into a milky solution. You want to massage this for another 30 seconds or more. Here is when the oil is acting as a cleanser. FINALLY, you can remove the milky substance with lukewarm water. If your skin doesn’t respond well to oil-based cleansers, you can still use double-cleansing in your routine. Just make sure you’re using a hydrating or gentle water-based cleanser and use it twice. Now that you know the secret formula. Where you using your oil-based cleanser incorrectly? πŸ€” πŸ’

Double cleansing can save your skin! 🌟
Double cleansing can save your skin! 🌟
Let's talk about double-cleansing. πŸ’¦ I didn't see the purpose of this and didn't apply it to my skincare routine until two years ago. After all, applying an oil to my already oily skin was terrifying to me. 😰 DHC - Deep Cleansing Oil What is double cleansing? It's essentially what you think it is. Double cleansing means washing your face TWICE. The first cleanser is usually an oil-based one, followed by a water-based one. Or, you can use a water-based cleanser twice if you prefer. Is double cleansing necessary for everyone? πŸ€”Most skin types can benefit from double cleansing, and don't worry; you won't overdry your skin. If you have acne-prone or oily skin, double cleansing can be quite helpful. But, if your skin is on the drier side and you use makeup, double cleansing can still help you cleanse your face and maximize the power of your skincare routine. 1️⃣ Here's how double cleansing helps: - It melts away any makeup you have before using your cleanser without being too stripping. - It gets rid of any water-resistant products you use, like sunscreen, for example, so your water-based cleanser works best. - It helps your skin be prepared to soak-in the benefits from your cleanser and other products. 2️⃣ How to use an oil-based cleaner? Unlike your traditional cleanser, you apply this to your skin when it's DRY. Gently massage the oil into the skin and see how it starts melting away any makeup or product. Then, use a bit of water to emulsify the oil until you see it turning into a milk-type cleanser. THEN is when you go ahead and remove the cleanser with lukewarm water. Have questions about double-cleansing? Ask below! πŸ‘‡β

Facial Lymphatic Massage to Fight Wrinkles? πŸ€”πŸŒŸ
Facial Lymphatic Massage to Fight Wrinkles? πŸ€”πŸŒŸ
Why I love my facial lymphatic drainage massage! 🀩 While everyone is obsessed with Gua Sha and facial rollers, I'm moving towards using my hands! While I'm not an expert, I've been incorporating this technique into my nighttime routine. Traditionally, lymphatic drainage helps with chronic swelling, but for beauty, it helps against puffiness, dull complexion, and skin irritation. Lymphatic drainage accelerates the absorption and transportation of lymphatic fluids that contain bacteria, toxins, and viruses. Over time, this can help with fine lines and eye bags. 🀩 HOWEVER, I'm not here to tell you that this is somehow a nonsurgical facelift. πŸ™…β€β™€οΈ It's just a generally safe practice that feels great and promotes circulation in the area. To see results, you have to try this every day for months. Even if it doesn't give you the facelift you want, I promise this is a technique that brings you stress levels down and elevates your beauty routine. I hope you try this step-by-step tutorial on how to DIY a lymphatic massage. πŸ€—πŸŒŸ
