Animal Crossing inspired makeup? YES. 🍃
ACNH has taken over my life, it was only a matter of time until it started ruling EVERYTHING I do, including my makeup 🥴 I’ve been hustling every day trying to earn enough bells to pay my bridges, home loans and keeping my island clean so I can have happy villagers. I even joined an all-girls group chat recently! And this week we decided to do villager-inspired makeup based on whatever villager we picked. I picked Francine, of course. It was the obvious choice, but how did I do? ☺️ I haven’t done makeup like this in a while and it was so fun to get to it again. I wanted to make a look based on what Francine is already wearing since it looks like a lovely, wearable look and I think I did pretty well! 😌 considering my skills aren’t that advanced lol. I left a slide with the products I used, I’ve reviewed a few of these but let me know if you’d like to know my thoughts on something! These are all tried and true products I consider to be 5 ⭐️s!

Pokémon inspired look🤍
Did this look inspired by Dragonair using theMORPHE - 35I Icy Fantasy Artistry Palette which is one of my favorite pastel palettes and some shades and pressed glitter from the #Colourpop - Fade into hue palette[products]#[FiveStars] that and a little dash of the ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - NORVINA® Electric Cake Liners Trio in white to tie it all together 🤍💦 I’m so obsessed with how this came out! What do you think? ☺️
Spooky glam look👻
I got inspired by my new ghosty-girl earrings for this look! If you want to try it for yourself, here are the steps I took: 1. I started with brows, first filling them in with the NYX - Micro Brow Pencil and then cleaning up the bottom edges with my REVOLUTION - Conceal & Define Full Coverage Concealer 2. I then primed my lids with the PLOUISE - PLOUISE Base Shade on a small fluffy brush. 3. I packed the colors I wanted in a swoop shape on my upper lid (I used MORPHE - The James Charles Palette ) and then cut my crease out first with GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Cleanser & Waterproof Makeup Remover 4. Then I reapplied the P. Louise base shade under the cut and packed in a shimmery shade on my lid. I used the same shades from my upper lid to create a smoky winged liner and fill in my under eye. 5. Last but not least, I glued on my lashes and crystals with IL MAKIAGE - Duo Adhesive Fake Eyelash Glue and the eyes were complete! Finish off with your favorite base makeup routine, and don’t forget the black lipstick😜 I tried the MAC - Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour and I’m obsessed! Hope you enjoy trying your own version of this ghosty glam😘

enhancing beautiful skin ✨
Loving the skin you are in is hard . As my skin cleared up throughout the last year ,I realized that I really like having a little makeup on : on my eyes ,on my cheek ,on my lips. I am experimenting with this no makeup makeup look and I had those glossier and colourpop products perfect for trying something that has become a little routine in the last few weeks 🙂: on the lips : First ,I apply COLOURPOP - Lux Lip Oil in the shade skinny dip,it really moisturize the lip and I put on top of that the COLOURPOP - Lip Tint Kit in the shade gimme s'more to add more color on the cheek: Glossier. - Cloud Paint Seamless Cheek Color in the shade puff. I dab it and blend it with my fingers . I sometimes put a little on my eyes to act as a little pop of color in the crease on the eyes : I admit that it's not my favorite products because they are not the most pigmented and the shimmer can be messy ,but it's so easy to apply and be done in five seconds. I use two shades of the Glossier. - Lidstar Duo one in the shade fawn on the outer eye,it brings dimension and a grunginess to the look , and the shade moon on the lid and the inner corner for more brightness All our skin journeys are different and important. It is vital to share it and be proud of it because we are all beautiful . As long as you do it for you ,then you're proving how amazing you are ! tourlou 🪐
My Updated “No Makeup” Makeup Routine ✨
Hey Cherie Fam! 🍒 I’ve been trying to find the perfect no makeup makeup look lately and I think I finally found the right combination for complexion products to use. I’ve been on a hunt lately and have been trying to find the perfect tinted moisturizer, sheer foundation and a setting powder. I used Glossier Perfecting Tint in G7 all over my face and the Stretch Concealer in G8 for under the eyes. For cheeks, I used Glossier’s Cloud Paint and mixed Puff and Haze then set my fave with Becca Light Shifter finishing veil in Star Hugger. The result is a natural dewy finish. My skin looks like skin, but luminous. You can still see my imperfections such as acne scars, but my complexion is evened out. I am also glowing ✨ I think going for the cloud paint made me look even more “effortless” rather than using a powder blush. When I apply powder blush, you can see it sitting on top of my skin which is a huge sign that I’m wearing makeup. Not necessarily a bad thing, but you don’t want that when you’re going for the “I woke up like this” look. Glossier. - Perfecting Skin Tint Glossier. - Stretch Concealer Glossier. - Cloud Paint Seamless Cheek Color BECCA - Light Shifter Finishing Veil Setting Powder For my eyes, I used 3 eyeshadow shades. I used my Natasha Denona Mini Nude Palette. I used Quoin all over my crease, Lumino on my lids and Soil as an eyeliner. On some days I leave my lids bare. I still do like to go heavy on the mascara. NATASHA DENONA - Mini Nude Eyeshadow Palette For the lips, I like to keep it bare. I have extremely dry lips and I try not to put anything on them as much as possible. I just use Kosas - Kosasport Lipfueland a nude hydrating gloss. COLOURPOP - So Juicy Plumping Gloss I never knew that looking “naturally pretty” and “effortless” is actually so much work! It still took me a good 15 minutes to get this whole thing done What does your “no makeup” makeup routine look like? Xoxo, Francesca 💋
I got new makeup that I’ve been dying to try, so I thought I’d share my thoughts of them with you! Ulta beauty matte primer- I usually use the elf poreless putty primer, but this was really good! It has a nice silicone feel, and it blurs large pores. I wish it came in a bigger container, but it was nice and cheap. Milani foundation- medium coverage, pretty cakey. It has a stronger fragrance than I was hoping for. It accentuated the pores around my nose area. I’m not in love with it, but it’s overall pretty good. Maybelline instant age rewind concealer- this concealer has been talked about a lot recently, and it really is AMAZING. It’s really full coverage, but it also looks natural. And it’s only $7, (I think). Revolution baking/setting powder- This is a nice, loose setting powder, and it does a really good job of mattifying your face. It’s only $10 which is a really good price, but it does have a little flashback. Physicians Formula ultimate butter collection- physicians formula has amazing butter bronzers, highlight, blushes and eyeshadows. I like that it has shades that would work with any skin tone. It’s a little bulky, but it has a mirror, and would be great for travel. The only thing I don’t like is the lip palette. The lip palette is really weird, because it doesn’t have really have pigment, but it doesn’t have the texture of a balm. Also, when you put it on, it has a very strong, and odd flavor. Kind of like plastic. Elf clear eyebrow gel-I mainly got this because of how cheap it is, and I love elf. I got this in clear, and it comes with two sides, a brow side and a clear mascara side. It is pretty nice, but it makes your brows and eyelashes really crunchy feeling. This would be perfect if you want something subtle. For the price ($2), I would recommend it. Wet n wild mascara- It’s okay. The brush is a little to big for my taste, but it’s good for how cheap it is. Revlon lipstick- I got this lip shade in Bare It All, and it is REALLY pretty. It has a really creamy consistency, and I will definitely be getting it in different shades. Would definitely recommend it! Kylie Cosmetics high gloss- I usually don’t buy things this expensive, but it was so pretty, that I decided to go for it. I got the shade Always Shining, and it’s reallyyyy pretty. It looks good alone and with lipsticks. It does have a very strong taste though, so if you want something tasteless, this is not for you. $16 for a lipgloss is pricy, but I’m so glad I bought this! Note: I have Keratosis Pilaris, also known as chicken skin, so if you notice bumpy parts of skin on my face, please ignore them. Thank you!
Super simple bedazzled eye makeup 🤩
I... 😳 didn’t think I’d like this look as much as I do! I think we’ve seen a rise of editorial makeup worn as everyday makeup since Euphoria aired and I’m 100% here for it. I’ve seen all my friends on Instagram experiment with cool colored liners, rhinestones and glitter and I am, as always, late to the party but guess what? I’ve arrived 😌 I got some rhinestones at a beauty supply and got down to business, I had no idea what I wanted to do, I just started placing the stones on my eyes (yes, on the hood of my hooded eyes 😜) using my trusted Sugarpill - Duo Eyelash Adhesive to stick them on and this is what came out! It’s such a cute, simple look in my opinion. I actually would wear this to go out, specially since wearing a mask pretty much hides the rest of your makeup, I feel a statement eye like this works great. I decided to keep the rest of my makeup pretty light, I thought it looked kinda model-esque and I love 😍 for complexion I used this winner trio: e.l.f. - Poreless Putty Primer + DIOR - Forever Skin Correct Concealer + UNDONE BEAUTY - LIP TO CHEEK 3-IN-1 CREAM PALETTE And my favorite lip duo: COLOURPOP - Crème Lux Lipstick in 21 questions and KYLIE COSMETICS - KYLIE COSMETICS High Gloss in Krystal. So, how did I do? Would you wear a rhinestone eye look out? 😌✨ #CherieCreator #CheriePartner

throwback to a good day
I remember doing this makeup in September for an event where I read some of my poetry for the first time . I am still getting used to my really short hair and to feel as feminine and as confident. This day will forever stay in my heart and I am so grateful for that (also it was my dad's birthday and taylor Swift anouced that she is releasing evermore like ,how iconic ?!!!!) tourlou 🪐 worn smashbox - Photo Finish Oil & Shine Control Matte Primer PÜR - 4-In-1 Love Your Selfie Longwear Foundation & Concealer e.l.f. - 16HR Camo Concealer Glossier. - Cloud Paint Seamless Cheek Color FENTY BEAUTY - Match Stix Matte Skinstick Glossier. - Wowder Weightless Finishing Powder LUNAR BEAUTY - Moon Prism Blush Palette BECCA - Sunlit Bronzer essence - Pure Nude Highlighter MAYBELLINE - Fit Me Matte + Poreless Powder benefit - Precisely, My Brow Pencil Waterproof Eyebrow Definer URBAN DECAY - Original Eyeshadow Primer Potion COLOURPOP - Stone Cold Fox Shadow Palette PAT McGRATH LABS - Mega Mothership: Celestial Divinity Eyeshadow Palette Too Faced - Damn Girl! 24-Hour Mascara MAYBELLINE - Super Stay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick Spiced Edition FENTY BEAUTY - Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer
Model off-duty look ✨ #CheriePartner
Have you ever wondered how do models look so good on AND off the runway? My research tells me the key to that off duty, “I didn’t even try” look is achievable by following these easy steps and keeping it simple 🙌 Let’s start with skin. Models seem to have flawless skin, to achieve that perfected look we just need a glowy base and an even skin tone. For this look I skipped foundation altogether and opted for concealer only, I went in with the DIOR - Forever Skin Correct Concealer this creamy concealer gives full coverage but a natural finish that is never cakey. I used it to spot conceal and to cover my under-eyes circles. Next is brows, models keep they’re brows defined but feathery. I used Lime Crime - Bushy Brow Precision Pen & ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Dipbrow Gel I recommend just following the natural shape of you brow and not overdoing it. I used the essence - Sun Club Matt Bronzing Powder to give my cheeks and jaw some definition, and on my eyes as well. Essence makes beautiful powder products, in my opinion. This formula is buttery soft and blends beautifully. I personally prefer products that can be built up since they’re more forgiving, rather than having something super pigmented upon first application because I’ve been guilty of going overboard. It has a coconut-y scent but it’s very faint, tho I’d steer clear if you’re sensitive to fragrance. You can find this for $4.99 at Ulta! For blush I went in with the essence - Satin Touch Blush in ‘Satin Coral’ for a subtle touch of color and essence - Pure Nude Highlighter which is probably my favorite powder highlighter ever. Since I used all powders for my makeup today I decided to give the e.l.f. - Elf+ Glow Dewy Mist a try! I picked this up recently and wow, I’m actually very impressed with the mist itself but the packaging is not the best ☹️ the nozzle just kind of spits out the mist and leaves big droplets on the skin which could potentially ruin all your work. BUT, let’s talk about the product inside because I think it’s really good! This mist is formulated with coconut water, hyaluronic acid and argan oil as key ingredients, all amazing ingredients for hydrated, dewy skin. It’s kinda milky in texture and feels very refreshing, helps powders melt beautifully on skin but I wish it was more of a fine mist. Lastly, for lips I went in with the CALEY COSMETICS - Beach Babe Natural Lips in ‘Nude’ which is very close to my natural lip shade, added some Glossier. - Balm Dotcom in Cherry since it has a subtle red tint and I think a subtle lip is key here. I topped it all off with the Glossier. - Glossier. Lip Gloss in Red. Love this gloss, it isn’t goopy or heavy, and the shine lasts long. And that’s it! Lmk if you have any tricks to looking effortless below!
I really like the packaging to this. Very solid. I also really like the applicator, it’s a pointed tip can pinpoint small area also it’s also a bigger, wider sponge that allows coverage on larger areas. The coverage is really good, my face usually has a lot of redness and it builds up for heavier acne coverage. It also has a matte finish which I like and doesn’t draw unwanted attention to the areas you try to cover.
My top base products ✨
I like my skin to look like skin even when doing full makeup, so I always reach for products that will give me that perfected, flawless base but aren’t heavy or make me feel like I’m wearing a mask. These are my favorite products to achieve just that! e.l.f. - Poreless Putty Primer I recently started using this and wow!! I love it, it blurs pores and fine lines beautifully but still leaves a natural finish and isn’t too matte, just perfect. DIOR - Forever Skin Correct Concealer I’ve talked about this concealer time and time again, I’m just obsessed with it. It’s so creamy but never looks dry and the coverage is just right. I wear the shade 1W and it’s a perfect match for me. Glossier. - Wowder Weightless Finishing Powder I’ve been using wowder for a couple of years and it’s nice! It gets rid of oiliness but still leaves a radian finish on the skin. ohii - Skin Quench Spray Serum I always spray my face with this when I’m using powder because it adds a beautiful glow to the skin and takes away the powdery finish. I love it. #CheriePartner
Getting real for a sec 🙂
Okay, I think we’re all been going through it with all the wild things going on in the world lately and one thing I really neglect when I’m panicking and/or feeling extra anxious is my appearance. I just don’t see the point on taking care of myself (which is a terrible thing but I can’t help it), so I just don’t. Today I decided to dust off my favorite products and make myself not look like a zombie and I have to admit, I feel pretty. It’s been a while since I’ve felt good about myself so this is BIG for me right now. Amongst the things I used today is the ohii - Skin Quench Spray Serum to add a youthful glow to my skin since I used translucent powder because SoCal is getting warm. I love this spray because you can use it as part of your skincare routine or like I use it, to give my skin some dewiness after applying powders. The Chai version (which is my favorite) has watermelon extract which is great for dewy skin. I personally love the fine mist, although I’ve seen people mention the nozzle is not the best but I haven’t had any issues and I already have a backup! This is an amazing product imo and my dehydrated skin just absolutely loves it, 10/10 would recommend 😌
More AC inspired makeup 💗🙏🏼
Following up to my last post, here’s another one of my favorite Animal Crossing villagers! No other than Francine’s sister, Chrissy 💖 She’s such a cute character with that pink hood and green nose, I gathered inspo for this look from her outfit and glittery eyes! I added a green highlight to my nose this time just because I was feeling more adventurous lol. I’d love to know if there are any other ACNH obsessés like me out here on the Cherie community! And also maybe invite you to join me on this challenge (?) it’s been so much fun getting to play with makeup again 🥰
Glossier.-Cloud Paint Seamless Cheek Color
My all time favourite blushes by 3CE
I love everything about 3CE blushes 🥰 The pigment is so fine, smooth and silky. It blends seamlessly into the skin and the longevity is quite good. I love the overall finish because, the smooth and silky texture gives your cheeks that natural flush of colour without looking powdery or chalky. They are not the most pigmented blushes and on the sheerer side but that is what I prefer. I like to control the amount of the blush and build up the colour according to my look or how I feel. I find that with pigmented blushes I always tend to overdo it and it is a pain to ‘fix’ or blend out. ‘Delectable’ is a fresh light fuchsia pink with a matte finish. It is more suitable for light to fairer skin tones. This is the type of shade if you want that pop of pink 😊
Makeup pretties! Klairs Mochi BB Cushion 🌷 Can we take a moment to appreciate how cute this is 😍 It's a BB cushion with SPF 40 that gives a light to medium, natural finish. You can actually use it 3 different ways depending if you want moisture or coverage! (swipe 👉 to see). It only comes in 1 "universal" tone (which is a bit light for my medium beige skin) but I like how lightweight it feels and how nicely it evens out my skin and covers redness 😊 Some beneficial ingredients include centella! 🌿 It also features a twist case which is really neat to prevent evaporation. So if your skintone is light to medium and you want a natural finish cushion with SPF AND adorable packaging, this could be the perfect cushion for you! 😁 theyeon Rosy Lip in color Rose Buds 🌷 I was surprised at how pigmented the color is! It's a pretty red and leaves a light stain behind. Pretty moisturizing too (though not as much as a lip balm imo). The case is sooo cute and has a mirror! 16brand Eye Magazine (Everyday) 🌷 Loved the concept of it, you're supposed to very quickly and conveniently swipe once to get a gradient eyeshadow effect. However it took me a lot of YouTube tutorials and practice to achieve it 😂 which I wouldn't have minded if the coral color was almost completely unnoticeable on me! 😭 Such a shame because otherwise I would keep using it. I'm curious about their nice colors 😊 apieu Pastel Blusher Marymond Edition 🌷 Suuuuper cute case with 3 peachy red colors. I don't use blush enough to compare their quality 😅 but I really like the middle more pinkish color! Gives a natural look 😊 Have you tried any of these?? 💕

Bronzer, Blush, and Highlighters I Like and I DONT Like
Do you like bronzer, blush or highlighter? I DO! And I really really really want to show you these beautiful products. Also, there are some products I do not like that much. I hope this helps when you are choosing your product! ColourPop Topaz X Alexis Ren Pressed Powder Face Duo is a red-brown shade for the bronzer and a dark champagne shade for the highlighter. It's more suitable for girls with a darker skin tone, but it's not for me. I highly recommendessence - Matt Touch Blush - 01 It's Berry Time. Its powder has a fine texture and except for its poor packaging quality, I like everything about it. COLOURPOP - Super Shock Highlighter- Lunch Money I recommend ColourPop - Lunch Money if you are looking for an affordable, delicate, and pore-minimizing highlighter of a natural and classy champagne shade. I don't recommend NYX Illuminating Palette because it doesn't have a great texture, the shades are not pretty, and I can only use it as an eye shadow highlighter. Also, after buying a few palettes, I realized that there is no need at all to buy a highlighter or blush palette since we only use one or two of the shades.
COLOURPOP- Super Shock Highlighter
Both because I love their formulas (especially in the heat) and because I adore their packaging, I thought I’d make today a bit of a Kjaer Weis one cosmetics-wise. Starting with their Cream Foundation in Lightness, I really like warming a little of this between my hands before making something of a cocktail with a few drops of my Herbivore Orchid Facial Oil and a little Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi. Because this foundation normally has a powder finish, I find this mixture still provides a fair amount of coverage but with an added dewy effect (as well as a teeny bit of bronze-yay!) Also, because the Cream Foundation's emollient formula also works well for me as a concealer, I like adding just a teeny amount more of neat foundation under my (currently very dark-circled) eyes. Here I find the powder finish (thankfully) helps detract slightly from my circles- so this is one of my favourite ways of using the Cream Foundation. In terms of finishing touches, Kjaer Weis's Cream Blush in Reverence provides a soft petal pink flush of colour on the cheeks or lips and lasts all day (especially important while it’s still baking here). And finally I’m putting the Kjaer Weis’s Lip Tint in Sweetness in my handbag in case I want to add a little coral pop throughout the day. Containing beeswax to nourish parched pouts, as well as natural oils (jojoba seed and rosa rubiginosa) this tint's formula mean I don’t need to pack a separate lip balm, and can also be used on cheeks if I need to top up there later too. Plus points: Long-lasting, natural products. Nourishing formulas which bridge the gap between skincare and makeup. Cruelty-free. Minuses: Sadly pretty expensive but for me these products really do last and last (plus the refills are a lot cheaper).
Can’t live without a peachy blush 🍑
Blush is probably my favorite makeup product ever. I feel like I’ve never tried a blush that wasn’t good. It’s like blush is just blush, it will do you good no matter what wether you like a matte blush, or cream or powder, it will most likely be good. I just can’t go on with my day without a healthy (probably unhealthy, really, I like to go heavy with my blush) amount of blush. I honestly apply a lot more than the average person since blush is the first product that will fade after a couple hours and I just love blush. I prefer peach tones because I think look best with my skin tone, like this UNDONE BEAUTY - LIP TO CHEEK 3-IN-1 CREAM PALETTE in the shade 340 Rosewood, I’ve talked about this product before but this shade is new to me. It’s such a pretty color and I think this palette would work for a variety of skin tones since it includes 3 different intensities. It’s very easy to apply with your fingers but I like to use a stippling brush for a more controlled application. What’s your favorite makeup item? What blush would you recommend I try?

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
