5 Toners for Every Dry Skin Personality

femmefindings
1. Dry and acne-prone looking for firmer skin. The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution
Not a toner for the weak and sensitive, TO’s Glycolic Acid Toner is a great option if you want to seriously minimize pores, reduce acne and brighten skin. My skin personally feels sensitized when I use it in the AM so be sure to layer extra SPF if you are a daytime wearer. I prefer this in a PM routine when I want to take a break from other actives/acids. 2. Dry and looking for soft, dewy skin. I'm from - Rice Toner
I love this toner when I want soft, supple skin. It leaves an appropriate layer of hydrating shine on my face when I want that quick “glass” skin look. Keeps my skin feeling dewy for a few hours so I will reapply in the afternoon when I feel dried out again. Because the ingredients are mostly humectants, I love layering it under serums that contain a lot of actives like Vit C and retinol! 3. Dry and struggling with dullness. GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Brightening Toner
This is a true ingredient-minded toner and my absolute favorite way of sneaking niacinamide into my skincare routine. This toner really acts as a 3 in 1 package with niacinamide, vit C and arbutin. I use this in the AM and PM, under both acidic and milder serums. May be too sensitizing for some. It’s an appropriate amount of hydrating, which I appreciate! 4. Dry and wanting a toner that acts as a lotion. ROVECTIN - Rovectin Skin Essentials Activating Treatment Lotion
This toner claims to have 7 different types of hylauronic acid, kind of like Hado Labo’s toner lotion. I like that it’s scent-free but it definitely lacks a wow factor. I would only recommend if you’re looking for a two step routine with “toner” and an additional moisturizer only. 5. Dry and looking for a toner to layer under makeup/serums. dear, klairs - Supple Preparation Facial Toner
This was my go-to toner for years. Faintly lavender-scented, this toner is hydrating and not intense at all. It’s great for layering under actives and makeup.

The ordinary haul
so I impulsively got a ton of stuff from the ordinary based on reviews and what several of their online employees have recommended. I gotta save, I've only work the hyaluronic acid for a day and it feels fantastic! I'll be updating in a month-6 weeks to give an accurate update, but I really gotta talk about the hyaluronic acid. I've tried them before and they were just sticky, and didn't feel great, this one is fantastic! my face felt so plush and soft! it was the first thing I tried and it is amazing! posting new results in a short while guys!

Let’s talk skin care for mature skin
Ok... so I have mature skin and these are a few gems I have found that have helped keep the aging process at bay!!! CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream this is simply amazing!!! It quenches my skin and has repaired my skin barrier. I use this at night as my last step. Wake up with supple and soft skin. This is great as a hand cream as well!!! The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution I use this 2x a week. I love it!!! Chemical exfoliation is amazing and effective. My skin tolerates this well, so I leave it on the full 10 minutes. I follow up with my moisturizers. THE inkey LIST - Hyaluronic Acid Serum this is my go too!! I love that it isn’t sticky and absorbs well into my skin. This is always a staple in my AM and PM routine. Follow this with a moisturizer. THE inkey LIST - Q10 Antioxidant Serum I love this. This is a little thicker than other serums, but this is great for aging skin. This is part of my PM routine as a final step before my moisturizer. The Ordinary - "Buffet" + Copper Peptides 1% I use this every other night on the nights I do NOT use the peeling solution. This is great for aging skin as well. The Ordinary - Granactive Retinoid 2% in Squalane this is my other go to opposite the buffet solution. As always I follow with moisturizer. The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG this is my go to for my eyes in AM. Gives added energy to tired aging eyes!! Love love love this!!!! The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution I use this a few times a week. I tend to use this in the AM so it does not counter the other acids I apply at night. It is great after my shower. I allow my skin to set and dry for 5-7 minutes before applying my serums in my routine. e.l.f. - Holy Hydration! Face Cream this is my morning moisturizer. I love it! Provides the perfect amount of hydration without the heaviness. Lays beautifully underneath my makeup.

MOST RECENT UPDATED AM ROUTINE WITH THEIR PRICES
I’m been going through many products, most of the time focusing on ACNE; a month ago I was watching Hyram YouTube videos and he mentioned “Damaged skin barriers” in that moment something told me “You need to focus on hydrating your skin, and products that help you repair your barrier not Just acne products” “” while you are repairing your skin barriers you will be also helping with healing your acne scars and future acne” .. **When you are using acne products they can be very strong on your skin that can cause irritation, dryness; damaging your skin barriers. That’s why it’s very important to moisturize your skin a LOT even, if you have oily skin. ** So here I am feeling better with this routine: 1. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser ** I don’t use it every morning, only when I feel my face dirty because I have very dry skin **gently and has niacinamide 😬 so a + $14.99 2. I'm from - Rice Toner It’s my favorite toner so far!! It’s soooo hydrating 🥰 I already order another one 😬 $27 a little pricey, but it’s worth it! 3. Krave - Great Barrier Relief Best serum I ever used! It’s very moisturizing and it just feel great on my skin. $28 4 LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer It’s very hydrating, but at the same time it doesn’t feel heavy on my skin. $14 5. Krave - The Beet Shield *Just started using this one so I’m not gonna rate it yet, but so far it’s good, I noticed it leaves your face a little bit shiny, but doing bother me much. $20

100% Vegan and clean essence for your face
I love that this product is clean and 100%vegan. The texture is really light and immediately absorbs into my skin. It leaves my skin hydrated and plump and goes great under my moisturizer. If you’re into K beauty, I think this would be a great addition to your skincare regime.

These are some products I’ve been recently reaching for/ testing out and enjoying! 💕 Product Reviews: 💚 @etudeofficial Soonjung Hydro Barrier Cream is so nice and gentle. I love putting a thick layer of this on my skin, kind of like a sleeping mask and it is really hydrating and soothing. It has some great ingredients such as panthenol, madecassoside and green tea to help repair and soothe skin.  I definitely do however prefer the Etude House SoonJung 2x Barrier Intensive Cream over this one as I found that to be more gentle and repairing. I think that one would be better for more sensitive and dryer skin. 💙 @rovectin_global Skin Essentials Activating Treatment Lotion is very hydrating! The product is meant to repair the skins moisture barrier and hydrate with the 7 different types of hyaluronic acid as well as gently exfoliate with the papaya fruit enzyme. It has a thick, vicious texture so I really enjoyed this in the colder months! I can pretty much use this everyday, whatever my skin condition is and it doesn’t irritate. 💚 @buildskincare B-Balm (PR): I have been testing out the b-balm lately and I really love it! It has a gel texture but feels like a facial oil. I have  a dry patch on my chin and it has really help reduce the flakiness and irritation so I love using this on dry patches all over my body.  I also put this over top or mix it in with my moisturizer whenever my skin is in need of a little bit more moisture. 💙 @bentoncosmetic Snail Bee High Content Essence (PR) is so moisturizing! I’ve been reaching for this one a lot lately. The snail mucin and bee venom help to moisturize the skin and the other ingredients such as aloe and collagen help to soothe and calm skin. I have been enjoying the deep hydration it gives me without being sticky! My skin feel really smooth and soft after using this one!   💚 @apieu_cosmetics Madecassoside Ampoule is my favourite ampoule for when my skin is feeling really irritated. It adds lightweight hydration to the skin and it really repairs and heals my skin when it’s damaged. I can use this product even when my skin is feeling super irritated so I highly recommend this one!

THANK YOU CHERIE! Toners are a must for me
I was gifted this dear, klairs - Supple Preparation Facial Tonerand I’m so excited to see how it works for me! This toner is formulated with a base of various botanical extracts to balance the skins pH levels and provide nourishment to skin. The main ingredients in this product are sodium hyaluronate, B-glucan, centella asiatica extract, and lipidure. Toning is a step I never skip because it helps keep my skin clean and clear. Tap water is dirty and contains many harmful chemicals that can really hurt skin. So even though I cleanse, the water residue stays on my skin and that’s a big no no for me. Toners wipe away any yucky stuff and prep skin for other products I’ve only used this about 3-4 times so I’ll be providing a more thorough review on this toner after I use it for a month.

Acne getting worse this year
Hi guys! I’m new to Cherie. I am 22 years old and have always had occasional pimples along with black heads on my nose but now my acne is out of control. On my chin line the pimples are constant and then I have large painful pimples which come up on my checks. Plus, textured forehead with occasional pimples. I began with trying the 10 step Korean skin care routine with the double cleanse which helped my redness and made my face look bright but did not help with the acne Then I tried black wolf face wash which seems to help but doesn’t stand a chance against my 12hr work days. Now: I’m trying smacne which seemed to have a lot of good reviews. SMACNE - Acne Treatment 30 Day Kit but have only used it for a few days For years I have used LANEIGE - Water Sleeping Mask which I love! It seems to improve my face over night Clean&Clear - Advantage Acne Spot Treatment CeraVe - Hydrating Sunscreen Face Lotion SPF 50- I hate the texture of this sunscreen but it was $15 so I’m trying to use it up I am on birth control and when talking to my doctor she said I should see a dermatologist because BC should only help acne not cause/ worsen it. I have reduced the dairy I consume, I drink green smoothies with fruits, veggies, flax seed, collagen, and apple cider vinegar most mornings. I also try to drink lots of water. This is kinda my last ditch effort before seeing a dermatologist. I legit am happy to be required to wear a mask at work because i am not confident with my skins current state. Thank you in advance for any advice! Right now I’m just trying to try one new thing at a time and give it plenty of weeks to see the effect. Full list of products that I have tried: THE FACE SHOP - Rice Water Bright, Light Cleansing Oil THE FACE SHOP - Rice Water Bright Rice Bran Cleansing Foam COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Medicated Gel Cleanser for Acne Prone Skin dear, klairs - Supple Preparation Facial TonerThe Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling SolutionI think my skin is too sensitive for this HOLIKA HOLIKA - Good Cera Super Ceramide Cream (MALIN+GOETZ) - Grapefruit face cleanser- this used to work for me but it stopped helping with my acne SKINFOOD - Royal Honey Essential Queen's Serumdear, klairs - Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Drop HUM - Daily Cleanse Detox Supplement

Bright skin & smaller pores | Niacinamide
Bright skin & smaller pores | Niacinamide
The SOME BY MI - AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Toner is a non-comedogenic, skin exfoliating toner formulated with AHA, BHA, PHA and Niacinamide 2%, a key ingredient used by skincare companies now which promises to help reduce the appearance of pores and improve overall skin tone. The GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Brightening Toner is an alcohol-free toner with Niacinamide listed as it’s third ingredient after water and glycerin. This toner also promises to reduce the appearance of pores while providing skin with a brighter appearance, similar to the Some By Mi toner. When using the some by mi toner, you must be mindful of not using any other HAs with it, as too much can cause skin irritation. Remember HAs (hydroxy acids, not hyaluronic acid) are chemical exfoliants. When using the some by mi or any other chemical exfoliant toner, it’s best to stay away from any other HA, benzoyl peroxide and retinol/ retinoid product for the rest of the evening. Alternate your days of use with these products, and always wear sunscreen the following morning when using a chemical exfoliant at night. For reference, this toner contains .05% AHA, .01% BHA & .01% PHA. It’s relatively low, but can still be too much for sensitive skin types. However, it’s a good starter product for those wanting to try out chemical exfoliants. The good molecules toner does not contain any HAs, so it is okay to use with another product that does contain HA. This product can be used both day and night. As with any skincare product, always do a patch test to see how your skin reacts with the product. The patch test should be done on the inner arm or on the back of the ear. The some by mi toner retails for $16, while the good molecules toner is $14.

INGREDIENT SPOTLIGHT: 3 Ways to Pair Niacinamide
INGREDIENT SPOTLIGHT: 3 Ways to Pair Niacinamide
Who needs wine pairings 🍷 when we can pair skincare?! Niacinamide has been talked about a lot on Cherie so I won’t bore you with the details but here are some thoughts! What’s up with Niacinamide? 🧴 Also known as vitamin B3 found in a diet of meats, fish and veggies. While rare, B3 deficiency can lead to pellagra (including scaly skin). 🧴 Derm research says it boosts collagen production, smooths wrinkles, reduces hyperpigmentation, fights acne, speeds epidermal growth and repairs skin barrier. 🧴 Synergistic when used with Vitamin C, arbutin and kojic acid 1. Niacinamide as a toner. ($14) Product: GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Brightening Toner Paired with : PURITO - Pure Vitamin C Serum VERSED - ON THE RISE FIRMING SERUM Comments: This is my full proof way of getting niacinamide no matter what. This toner is thicker than water in consistency, intensely hydrates without it ever interfering with the application of my other products. The toner also contains vitamin C and arbutin- consistent with the research support their synergism. This method allows me to have actives in my non-serum steps of my routine as well! 2. Niacinamide as a first serum step. ($6) Product: The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Paired with: dear, klairs - Supple Preparation Facial Toner GEORGETTE KLINGER - Vitamin C Toner Comments: I used TO’s niacinamide a while back and was never in love with it. I could never assess its effectiveness because the formula sat so tacky on my face (especially when I layered other serums) I’d end up rinsing it off within minutes. This went on for months. Even though the shelf life is 12 months, I’ve also noticed that the product is increasingly more drying upon application. It leaves white soap-like streaks when I try to spread it too...I could never get it to agree. However, I do know that many swear by this serum so I wanted to add this in here as a comparison to the next serum I’m about it mention! If you’re pairing this, I’d say using it with a simple toner and no other serums. 3. Niacinamide as a layering serum/moisturizer. ($8) Product: THE inkey LIST - Niacinamide Oil Control Serum Paired with: I'm from - Rice Toner PURITO - Pure Vitamin C Serum Comments: Compared to The Ordinary’s famous niacinamide 10%, I have to say The Inkey List has a seemingly thicker BUT much quicker absorbing formulation. While it still sits sticky initially, the feeling goes away within minutes and I am effectively able to pair this with other serums and even sunscreen. I use this after my vitamin C serum and before SPF. The product still sits shinier than I would like but for $8, it was definitely worth a try! The packaging is extremely travel friendly, so I can keep it in my bag at work for a midday skincare reset. Cheers🍷

Attention Glow Getters!
Attention Glow Getters!
Glowing skin is calling - pick up the phone! 📞 When my skin is bright, fresh, smooth, and happy I feel like I can take on the world. I have dryyyy skin that can look dull if I don’t treat it right. My preferred way to target dullness and unwanted texture is to use a brightening toner, overnight exfoliating treatments, and an overnight mask (not all in the same night - alternate!) Please note I am not an expert, so take my recommendations at what you will and consult your dermatologist! The GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Brightening Toner is a product I’ve raved about before. Not only is it made with great ingredients, but at $14 for 4oz., it’s also affordable and lasts for a long time. It contains niacinamide, arbutrin, licorice root extract, and a stable from of vitamin C. This toner targets large pores and brightens. Within weeks of using this toner daily I noticed a difference in my pores and overall appearance of my skin. It has a thin, watery texture (hence why you may not be able to see it in my texture photo), and is unscented. I’ve since repurchased this item because my skin 100% missed it. Depending on how your skin reacts to actives, I have two recommendations for overnight exfoliating treatments. If considering adding active to your skincare, its best to start slow with 1-2x/week at night. The FARMACY - Honeymoon Glow Serum contains a 14% AHA/BHA/flower acid mix to exfoliate your skin and reduce hyperpigmentation and pore size. It also contains hyaluronic acid and honey to plump and soothe skin. I noticed my skin looks much brighter and feels smoother the next morning after use. It has a faint scent and a thin texture that does feel a bit moisturizing on the skin. This is a stronger product and is also more expensive at $58; however a little goes a long way since it’s not something to use every night. A more affordable and less potent (but still effective!) option is the GOOD MOLECULES - Overnight Exfoliating Treatment . This treatment contains a 10% AHA/BHA blend. Those sensitive to citrus oils should note this does contain small amounts. It has a slight chemical scent and a thin texture. I notice similar results to the honeymoon glow, though this product takes a few extra uses to notice. You can’t argue with its $6 price tag! Finally, the mask I fell in love with after first use. Yep, first use. That never happens. The YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask is my holy grail sleep mask. It contains amazing ingredients like squalane, vitamin C, and maqui. Maqui is rich in antioxidants, vitamin C brightens, and squalane nourishes and hydrates. It smells a bit like berries and had a thick, luxurious texture that feels instantly soothing. When I use this, I wake is with glowing skin every single time. I typically use 2-3x/wk. It’s pricey at $48 but worth every penny because you get a good amount of product.

PURITO - Centella Green Level Buffet Serum I really enjoy using this serum at night. The smell nice and clean. Helps to hydrate my skin and my texture. I’m so happy that it comes with a pump because I would hate to dig my fingers into products. The serum claims to help with skin texture and protect from outer environment. The serum have great ingredients that benefit your skin. Overall this serum is great and affordable. I'm from - Rice Toner This rice toner helps to brighten up my complexion. Helps to clear my dark spots from my acne. There is no scent to this toner. I use it with a cotton pad and rub it around my face. It helps my skin glow from within and I love a nice glass skin. With this toner is really helps to achieve that healthy skin look. HADALABO - Gokujyun Premium Lotion I am super impressive with this product. This product really helps penetrate the moister into my skin. It feels like my skin was dip into heaven. The texture is not too thick and not to thin, just right to apply onto the skin. This works best when I am out of the shower and apply this instantly. My face be glowing like a goddess. I highly recommend this product for everyone, even for people who have sensitive skin. My mom is picky with her skincare due to the fact that her skin is super sensitive to everything. This product on the other hand works like a miracle.

the best toner for my pores & acne!
the best toner for my pores & acne!
Despite being one of my favorite products, this brand has been in some negative light lately after they failed to address Black Lives Matter appropriately in the skincare community. I wanted to share my thoughts regardless, as they have publicly apologized and made efforts to rectify their mistakes. I have sensitive, acne-prone skin. Combo type as well as rosacea. GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Brightening Toner Claims: —Promote bright, even skin — less visible pores — alcohol-free — works to reduce the appearance of dullness, uneven skin tone, and enlarged pores. Key Ingredients: — Niacinamide — Cocoa — Licorice Overall thoughts: — Broke me out initially, and breaks me out if I use more than 3x a week. — reduces my number of breakouts overnight, and significantly brightens my skin. — my pores are more refined, and even when I use this! — best used on a cotton round, and in my pm routine. — gentle for sensitive skin, as long as I don’t overuse. — I can see a difference in my dark spots as well, and an improvement in number of breakouts for the future. — $14, pretty busted for the price!

Best Toner?
Best Toner?
Good Molecules came out with this affordable brightening toner within the last year and I will say that I LOVE it. It does what it says and my face had never been so radiant. Though I don’t think it did much to fade my acne scars, I wasn’t really expecting it to. However, it did help with texture and dullness. A definite repurchase!GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Brightening Toner
