I tried the cheapest Vit C Serum: was it worth?!
HONEST FEMME FINDS: All I gotta say is wow, never before have I seen a 4oz bottle of vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid) serum formulated with Ferulic acid and vitamin E (both stabilizers of Vit C) for only $15. I bought this off of Amazon prime so I actually got a discount and ended up with this product for only $12. That is actually insane because the original formulation by skinceuticals goes for $166 for only 1oz. Patent concerns aside, that is 55x more than what I just paid for. Of course, cheap isn’t always better. This serum by Pura D’or does not go without many many flaws. Here are some of my thoughts: pura d'or - 20% Vitamin C Serum
Budget-friendly vitamin c serums
Vitamin C in skincare
Serums for oily skin
Ascorbic acid face serums

Jasmine.CI had read some of your reviews and I found you know a lot of things abt ingredients for skincare products. I was wondering if the V-c product can solve my dull skin problem. Any product suggestions?

femmefindingsHi Jasmine! Yes definitely- I may take some time to see results but Vit C can definitely help with brightness. If you have sensitive skin, I would start with a 20% Vitamin C derivative (sodium ascorbyl phosphate) formulated in aloe Vera or Hyaluronic acid with Vitamin E! Let me know if that helps :)

Reviewing My Followers Skincare Routines pt. 4
Hey ya’ll! In part 4 of Reviewing My Followers Skincare Routines we’re reviewing @Raks and @juliachristine’s skincare routines. Starting with @Rakswho reached out to me via Cherie message because she started skincare about a year ago because of her upcoming wedding. She starts by cleansing with theThursday Plantation - Tea Tree Face Wash Foam which costs $8.99 for 5.1 fl oz. This cleanser is very basic. It has tea tree oil, and eucalyptus oil. My issue is with the eucalyptus oil, which is a very irritating essential oil right up there with lemon oil and peppermint oil. If this doesn’t irritate your skin then it’s a great cleanser, but I can’t recommend it to those with sensitive skin. Then she goes in with 4 serums. First is thepura d'or - 20% Vitamin C Serum which costs $14.99 for 4 fl oz. This is a really good serum. It has aloe vera juice, glycerin, jojoba oil, and argan oil which are hydrating ingredients, and then it has hylaronic acid, retinol, and Vitamin C. I love it! Then she uses#The Ordinary - Nicinamide Serum[products]#[FiveStars] which costs $5.90 for 1 fl oz. We’ve talked a lot about this serum, it’s very good. Next is the#Tree Of Life - Hylaronic acid serum[products]#[TwoStars] which costs $10.95 for 1 fl oz. I don’t like this serum. It started off good with hylaronic acid, aloe vera juice, Vitamin E, and Vitamin C, but it contains way too many Essential oils and irritating extracts. And her final serum is theSkinMedica - LYTERA 2.0 Pigment Correcting Serum which costs $130.90 for 2 fl oz, which is very expensive. This is not worth the price. It has nicinamide and glycerin, and then some not very researched acids. I don’t recommend continuing use of this serum. Then to moisturize she goes in with theOLAY - Regenerist Regenerating Day Cream which costs $29.99 for 1.7 fl oz. I don’t like this moisturizer. Let’s start with some positives. It has nicinamide, glycerin, and Vitamin B3. Now it has a lot of bad ingredients also. It has Sodium Laureth Sulfate, which is a harsh cleansing agent, as well as fragrance being the 6th ingredient. The she uses a Neutrogena sunscreen, and occasionally usesThe Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution which costs $7.20 for 1 fl oz. This is a great exfoliant. I think @Raks is using too many serums. I would stick to only the Pura D’or and The Ordinary serum, and ditch the other two. Keep the cleanser, and maybe try a different moisturizer. You asked for mineral sunscreen reccomendations for dark skin tones that don’t have a white cast, so I got you girl! I have light skin, but I did some research and I’d recommend the#First Aid Beauty - Weightless Mineral SPF 30[products]#[FiveStars] which costs $34 for 1.5 fl oz, and the #Biossance - Squalane Zinc Sheer SPF 30[products]#[FiveStars] which costs $30 for 1.7 fl oz. Both of these have minimal white cast, and Skincare by Hyram recommends them. Next is @juliachristine’s night routine. She starts off by cleansing with the #Vanicream - Unscented Gentle Cleanser[products]#[ThreeStars] witch costs $8.99 for 8 fl oz. This a nice basic cleanser with glycerin. Next she uses the#OBAGI - Tretinoin 0.025% Cream[products]#[TwoStars] which costs $84 for .7 fl oz. This cream has tretinoin which is a Vitamin A derivative which can treat acne, as well as retinol which also Vitamin A. I don’t think it’s worth the price, but it’s okay. Next she uses the #The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%[products]#[FourStars] which costs $7.99 for 1 fl oz. Along with azelaic acid, it has dimethicone which is a great moisturizer for dry skin. Next she uses theCeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin which costs $17.99 for 15 fl oz. Y’all know I love this product! Finally she finishes off with theVERSED - ZERO-G Smoothing Eye Cream witch costs $17.99 for .5 fl oz. Eye cream is definitely not necessary but this one is great! It has glycerin, algae extract, and olive oil which are hydrating, along with shea butter and a blend of peptides which can help firm the skin and increase collagen production which can help reduce fine lines around the eyes. Overall @juliachristine your routine looks great! That’s it for this post please cheer for this post if you liked it, comment your opinions on these products, and follow me for similar content. Upcoming posts include a 1 month Curology review and unnecessary skincare steps you don’t need. -Mae
The result to an effective skin care routine!
A year ago, I started being lazy and was not following my skin care routine. To give a little background about me, I’m a nurse who does shift work, so on days where I come off from a night shift, I would shower and only rinsed my face with water without using a cleanser. I then would apply my night cream and go to sleep. Fast forward, I started developing this tiny little bumps all over my face, occasional break out, hyperpigmentation and uneven texture. I would exfoliate at times but became inconsistent with it so It didn’t really clear up my skin. Back in March of this year, I became more frustrated as it was taking longer for me to clear up my skin and these tiny little bumps kept coming back (no they were not fungal acne as they were bigger in size and reddened)so I decided to change up my skin care products and made up a routine similar to the ones I see on my social media platform. SKIN TYPE Normal- Dry Combination Skin, Sensitive Morning Routine - Gentle Cleanser CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin - Vit C pura d'or - 20% Vitamin C Serum - Niacinamide The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% - HA depending on my mood. I use different kinds . HADALABO - Gokujyun Premium Lotion or COSRX - Hyaluronic Acid Hydra Power Essence - Moisturizer if I feel like my face needs extra hydration otherwise I would skip this part CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin or LA ROCHE-POSAY - Lipikar Balm AP + Body Cream - SUNSCREEN!! LA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios 50 Mineral Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid SPF 50 or LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer UV SPF 30 NIGHT ROUTINE - Double Cleanse heimish - Heimish All Clean Balm or The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser followed by CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin - Toner COSRX - AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner or PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator - If I am not using any of the toners mentioned above, then I would use this The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA On the nights I use retinol, I don’t use any chemical exfoliants at all PAULA'S CHOICE - Clinical 1% Retinol Treatment, 30ml - Moisturizer CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin -Facial Oil The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalane or DERMA•E - Rejuvenating Sage & Lavender Face Oil This was my routine for 4 months. And now of course I’ve changed up few things in my routine. All of these products helped cleared up my skin issues. As you can see, my face is looking much better!!
Product that I Keep On Purchasing. laneige Clear C Advanced Effector EX (3rd Upgrade) I think I’ve said this many time before; I love this product so much as it helps with boosting my brightening skincare as I get better result, as it’s filled with vitamin C and also gentle. I use this product the first thing after my cleansing routine with cotton pads that come with the product on pack. This is the one product I’ve repurchased from LANEIGE more times compared to other products from the brand since 2013 and probably will be repurchasing some more in near future. Overall, 5/5. Love it. Finished at least 3 bottles a year.

SAHARA ROSE-Divine Beauty Serum
A perfect serum for radiant looking skin!
📌My skin type: Dry/ Combination 📌Product information: Radiance Perfecting Serum ($56 for 30ml). It is designed for all skin types which helps in increasing luminosity, evens out the skin tone, brightens and fights with dullness and smooths the skin. It also helps in minimizing the look of pores. It contains vitamin C from corn, Licorice extract and wild canadian rumex. 📌Product texture: Gel 📌My Experience: I love this serum on the lazy days. Just wash your face, apply this serum, moisturizer, sunscreen and you are good to go. To be honest I never have a 100 step routine. I believe in quick, easy and minimal steps and letting your skin breathe some fresh air. This light weight serum helps reduce dullness and evens out my skin tone pretty quick. It does not leave a tacky feeling behind and sits well under makeup. Basically it checks out all the requirements for me. 📌Like/ Dislike: LIKE 📌Would I recommend it? YES 📌Rating of the product: 4.8/5
REN CLEAN SKINCARE-Radiance Perfection Serum
CLEAN Osmia Balance Serum
Osmia Organics Balance Serum claims to balance the skins oil production. It’s base, black cumin seed oil, helps calm down the skin, while the rosehip, where it gets its yellow color, provides antioxidants. The smooth serum also has ingredients to improve skins texture and brighten, while lessening oil appearance. This oil was what I used when I first got into clean skincare. I do like it, as it sinks into the skin quickly and doesn’t leave an oily feeling to the skin, but I did not see any balancing effects. I didn’t see any negative affects, but I didn’t really feel like it did much. For the price, it is an okay serum. It is a small bottle and there are many other oils or serums I would recommend over it. OSMIA - Balance Facial Serum

Gorgeous Mist Type Serum✨
d'Alba piedmont - White Truffle First Spray Serum I’ve been obsessed with this clear packaging. This hydrating spray is perfect after shower. I mist my skin from head to chest area all over. It feels so refreshing💦 I have combination acne prone skin & sensitive to some fragrance. Key ingredients include niacinamide (my recent favorite for brightening⚡️), avocado oil & alba bark extract. It does contain soybean oil & sunflower seed oil so be aware if you have fungal acne. This spray gives me such a gorgeous hydration & natural glow. When I layer moisturizer, my skin feels so much better. Also this serum is vegan & cruelty free🐰🌱 #CherieCreator
d'Alba piedmont-White Truffle First Spray Serum
The Dr. Jart+ - V7 Antioxidant Serumis an INCREDIBLE Antioxidant serum...it packs vitamin c, niacinamide, and so many more powerful ingredients. The texture is incredible...you shake the bottle to combine the oily vitamin E with the rest of the ingredients (you can see this separation in the pic!). This is great for dry skin, and is a perfect product for some AM hydration. It is $58 USD which is definitely expensive for a serum, but I’m so happy that I have this one in my routine. It’s gentle and has a light scent. I would recommend this to any friends who want to brighten their skin! I give it a 5/5 ⭐️ rating and I will continue using this babe!

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
