Warm undertoned friends, this post is for you! I’m not a huge makeup user but lipsticks are my kryponite. A lip color and some gold hoops are just 💕.
I’ve been using Peripera’s Airy Velvet Ink lip tints ever since that fateful day I discovered kbeauty in CVS (2017) and have only recently purchased their new INK line, a very similar update of colors. If you haven’t tried velvet tints, they are like the skincare of makeup. I love them because they feel so comfortable (despite finishing matte) which makes it so hard to go back to liquid lipsticks. Velvet tints don’t stay on as long (1-3 hrs if you’re lucky) but are always the first product I grab for an everyday lip!
Age-old question: “how do you know if you’re warm undertoned”? Check veins on your wrist. If they appear green then you are part of this fam! My veins are wildly green, but some of you may have bluer veins (cool) or be in between (neutral). Of course this is allll arbitrary but a quick mental shortcut helps find shades engineered with this heuristic in mind!
What lip colors suit warm undertones? The orange/coral/brick red/terra-cotta brown blends. Our pinks and nudes also look better with some 🍊, often what they call a “peachy nude or pink”. The following eight colors I’m mentioning are SIMILAR: you don’t have get them all to complete the color wheel!

I love this stuff! It has a very beautiful full coverage look.
I’m giving it 4 stars only because it doesn’t last as long as I’d like it to. There are several colors to choose from and they also make a lip serum, as well as velvet tint.

5 Min Get-The-Look: Anna May Wong (AAPIHM Reel!)
As AAPI Heritage month nears an end, I wanted to do a quick tribute to the women of color, particularly Asian Americans, who paved the way in entertainment when Hollywood was an even unfriendlier place than it is today. Anna May Wong, born in Los Angeles in 1905 and gaining lead roles by the 1920s, is considered the first Chinese American movie star in Hollywood. After feeling boxed in playing stereotyped roles, Anna May Wong in her own way, found ways to rebel against the norms within her roles and was considered a fashion icon of her time.
Hollywood, a new series on Netflix produced by Ryan Murphy, features a modified account of Anna May Wong’s life. Would recommend! (Actress Michelle Kruseic has the iconic thin brows and straight-cut bangs I was unwilling to get for this look lol.)
While the platform for Asian Americans in beauty and media has become more accessible, there is much work to be done. With increasing cases of violence that the Asian-American and Asian diasporic communities have experienced globally as a result of Covid-19, it is important to check in with ourselves on how we can speak against these senseless acts. How can we be better as we continue to consume kbeauty, Japanese sunscreens, commercialized yoga, and jade rollers?
I am so grateful for how positive this community on Cherie is and here’s to more days of uplifting each other so that skinfluencers of all skin types and beauty conventions get a voice! Love you all 💕.

Best Lip Gloss...is an oil?
Kosas - Wet Lip Oil Gloss
I purchased the Kosas Wet Lip Oil Gloss after hearing all the hype on Instagram, and all I have to say is, I’m in love with this product. I’ve used it a handful of times, but it is so hydrating and nourishing. It has a texture similar to lipgloss, but is not sticky. It’s almost like a cross between a lil gloss and a lip mask. You definitely feel it on your lips, but it’s not at all uncomfortable. It also fades nicely and leaves your lips soft and plump.
This shade is “Jellyfish” which is clear, but I am looking forward to purchasing the shade “Dip” which has a pinky tone. Overall, I think the price tag of $27 is worth it for a product that works! Also...you only need one dip into the product for full lip application! I highly recommend this and happily give it 5/5 stars!
Kosas-Wet Lip Oil Gloss
Have I mentioned how much I love the Kosas Cosmetics Wet Lip Oil Glosses? I’m typically not a lipgloss fan but this is a hybrid lip treatment and gloss that is packed with peptides that plump and hydrate, all while providing a juicy slick of color. You’ll find killer ingredients like Hyaluronic Acid, Peptides (to protect your collagen), and Evening Primrose Oil. Because my lips start peeling the moment it gets cold and continue until the spring, it can make it very difficult to wear lipstick but these have just enough of an oil texture that it leaves my lips looking plump and hydrated while camouflaging the dry flaky bits.
The Fruitjuice color is exactly what you would think. It leaves you with the perfect fruit juice stained hint of a magenta lip. Jaws is a gorgeous, glossy, cherry juice stained red that I am loving for a minimal yet festive holiday lip right now! Dip is a neutral pearly nude that even a “non-nude lipstick“ wearer can pull off. I speak from experience because I literally can never find a nude that doesn’t make me look like the crypt keeper but this one is the perfect #MLBB shade with just the right amount of gloss.
Kosas Cosmetics has knocked it out of the park once again with these formulas and has totally converted this non-lipgloss, non-nude lip wearer!

FENTY BEAUTY - Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer
What is it: shimmery lip gloss that conditions lips (shown in shade Fenty glow)
My thoughts: I love how lightweight this gloss is! This shade is a beautiful shimmering rose nude which would look good on any skin tone. It adds just a hint of rosy and the perfect amount of shine. The best part about this gloss is that it IS NOT STICKY!!! i typically don’t like wearing glosses because of how sticky they are, but in my opinion this is perfect. It’s formulated with Shea butter which makes this very moisturizing and does last pretty long as long as you aren’t eating a full ass meal or drinking all night lol. This comes in 6 different shades is $19. I would definitely repurchase and try other shades in the future!

I have fairly sensitive skin, so I tend to gravitate toward tinted lip balms instead of lip products. However, these products are my favorite when it comes to lip products that aren’t balms!

Now this is a HYPED product, but I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t worth the hype! I got this mini size in a Christmas kit and I’ve loved it ever since. It’s not goopy at all and lasts at least a couple of hours. The smell is heavenly, like a creme brûlée! It’s a bit pricey at $19 for .3oz but I would recommend everyone try it at least once! To keep mine from running out immediately, I only wear it to events like weddings or “dress up” events to make sure my lips look amazing for hours. 5/5
iNNBEAUTY PROJECT - Glaze #1 lip oil my favorite lip gloss to wear at work
Being completely transparent, I received this as a gift. But that doesn’t change the fact that I’ve bought 2 replacements already! The Lip Glaze #1 is my go-to for my casual work day. It smells like cherries and doesn’t leave a weird goopy feeling on your lips! It has an amazing, subtle red tint that’s not too opaque but not too transparent either. It’s super hydrating too! I love it for on-the-go when I’m in a rush as well. It’s a little pricey and not fully accessible as it’s only available on their website, but highly recommend as they’re an indie brand and their branding is ON POINT! It costs $15 for .17oz. I have to rate it 5/5 for overall experience.
essence - Soft Contouring Lipliner my favorite lip liner for daily wear.
As I’ve gotten older, my natural lip line/definition has faded a little bit so I’m newer to the lip liner scene. However, I picked this up at Ulta for $2.50–YEP YOU READ THAT RIGHT! This pencil has such a great formula for staying power but can get a bit drying if you’re not prepping with a lip balm. I love using this daily to define my lip line without it looking too crazy—the shade “going steady” is my perfect lip color. I love that it’s available at Ulta so you can earn/redeem rewards on it! 5/5

COLOURPOP - Lux Velvet Liquid Lipstick Collection
I currently own the colors Puddin’ (burnt red orange) and Room Service (warm terra-cotta) and I’m loving them both as wearable everyday lip colors for warm undertones! The formula is mousse-y which I love, is not drying, feels like I’m wearing a balm when I press my lips together but doesn’t not transfer. The formula doesn’t last forever like a traditional liquid lip but stays on longer than other velvet lip formulas I’ve used. I am able to add many layers without any problems at all!
COLOURPOP - Ultra Matte Lip
I’ve heard great things about the blotted lip and the formula indeed creates an “ombré” look on the lip. The formula dries much quicker than the LUX and does not transfer. Unlike the Velvet LUX, it’s not as comfortable rubbing my lips together. I do love the color I got (sleepy eyes), as it is one of the few rose nudes that work well on my warm undertone! However, I am not loving the fact that if I add two layers for a bolder look, the formula will pill on top of each other and looks streaky. I’d say the blotted lip is more of a lip stain, serving as a one layer wonder.

The COLOURPOP - Ultra Glossy Lip in Champagne Mami is a beautiful warm-toned gloss with golden specks of shimmer, the formula is amazing, slightly sticky which is to be expected for a gloss but it’s not goopy.
The shimmer is very fine so it’s not uncomfortable, it adds a slight tint of color which I love for a gloss and I think it would look amazing on many different skin tones; another win for Colourpop!
