Weekend wind-down ft cold cream cleansing balm
HONEST FEMME FINDS: POND'S - Cold Cream Cleansing Balm PACKAGING: Comes in a plastic container which I don’t mind. In fact, I love the colors! 💖💚 USE: I was so excited to receive this! Ponds cold cream is a classic so I was curious when they came out with a cleansing balm. Functionally it works great- the product is easy to scoop, melts immediately upon contact with skin, lathers up great and leaves an appropriately hydrated but not greasy feel on the face. I don’t usually mind products with a tiny bit of fragrance but unfortunately, this one feels like washing my face in cheap perfume. The smell is not super strong but I am particularly averse to rose 🥀. Good thing is, the rose does not linger after washing off and layering other steps of skincare. PRICE: It’s only $10 for a 100ml container, but it’s definitely not a dupe for anything luxurious. If fragrance bothers you, I would avoid. Otherwise not a bad drugstore pick-up at all! I dunno if I’ll be repurchasing but I will use it up. Cheers to Memorial Weekend Sales 🥂

$103 vs $29: Can this vintage gem be duped?
ESTĒE LAUDER - Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II VS MISSHA - Time Revolution Night Repair Borabit Ampoule HONEST FEMME FINDS: Estée Lauder’s night serum was the first thing I ever took from my mom’s vanity (apparently similar to how others discovered it) and immediately grew a liking to the formula. The amber bottle never told me what was so great about it but I knew it was something special. After eagerly using up the 30ml in a month, I was excited to repurchase but horrified to find that a 1.7ml bottle would cost $100+. I came to terms with the fact that I just did not have the means to use it daily. At airports, I was that person who waded through the duty free section to use a sample of this serum, leaving my face supple for a red eye flight. I also noticed the patented ingredient, bífida ferment lysate. When I saw recent videos of the many dupes that have come out since Estée Lauder patented the formulation in 2008, I immediately felt compelled to try it. Here are my first impressions. MISSHA - Time Revolution Night Repair Borabit Ampoule IMPRESSIONS: Wow, it’s way larger of a bottle than I expected, looks super luxurious too! The color looks the same (peachy), consistency upon eye-balling looks identical, and even the smell reminds me of the OG. Wow. On the face, it feels slightly oilier/tackier than I remembered Estée Lauder’s to be but overall it feels similar. Softened my skin immediately. INGREDIENTS: Second ingredient is bífida ferment lysate (a probiotic that has anti-UV damage properties, helps w/ skin barrier), but also in addition Niacinamide, fermented and fruit extracts with anti-aging properties that the original doesn’t have. PRICE: $29 on Amazon prime vs $103 for the original. Imma stop there. REFLECTIONS: When I was wowed by Estée Lauder’s vintage gem, it was years ago, before I truly started my skincare journey. My skin has improved drastically since I incorporated Vit C, HA, AHA and retinol (even SPF!) into my life and I’m wondering if I’ll feel as in awe by bífida ferment lysate as I once did. I guess I will find out if I really NEED this ingredient in my routine. Updates to come! Cheers to ingredients sounding like congenital conditions🥂

Peripera Lip Tints for Warm Undertones
HONEST FEMME FINDS: Warm undertoned friends, this post is for you! I’m not a huge makeup user but lipsticks are my kryponite. A lip color and some gold hoops are just 💕. I’ve been using Peripera’s Airy Velvet Ink lip tints ever since that fateful day I discovered kbeauty in CVS (2017) and have only recently purchased their new INK line, a very similar update of colors. If you haven’t tried velvet tints, they are like the skincare of makeup. I love them because they feel so comfortable (despite finishing matte) which makes it so hard to go back to liquid lipsticks. Velvet tints don’t stay on as long (1-3 hrs if you’re lucky) but are always the first product I grab for an everyday lip! Age-old question: “how do you know if you’re warm undertoned”? Check veins on your wrist. If they appear green then you are part of this fam! My veins are wildly green, but some of you may have bluer veins (cool) or be in between (neutral). Of course this is allll arbitrary but a quick mental shortcut helps find shades engineered with this heuristic in mind! What lip colors suit warm undertones? The orange/coral/brick red/terra-cotta brown blends. Our pinks and nudes also look better with some 🍊, often what they call a “peachy nude or pink”. The following eight colors I’m mentioning are SIMILAR: you don’t have get them all to complete the color wheel! 🤍 = how often I use the tint peripera - Ink Airy Velvet Lip Tint 2017 OVERVIEW: Comes in a small bottle with a black twist off cap attached to a short lip wand. All tints from this line finish matte, but feels more liquidy than their new formulation. If you’re a lip licker like me, multiple reapplications may be necessary. #5 Elf Light Rose: Rose with coral/peachy notes. It’s one of the brighter roses I own but don’t hesitate to use! I use this a lot when wearing navy blues. 🤍 #6 It Brown Orange: Like the title, a red lip with orange undertones. The very subtle brown really helps mute the boldness. Probably the first thing I reach for an everyday lip. 🤍🤍🤍 #7 My Brown Coral: So similar to #6 I mix the two up. It’s maybe pinker, hence the “coral”. I don’t even care- I love them both.🤍🤍🤍 #8 Glimpse Bricke Brown: Literally your brick red lip but gentled by brown. I love this one for going out at night or when I wear black. 🤍🤍 peripera - Ink Matte Blur Lip Tint 2019 OVERVIEW: thicker, drier formulations in a thinner, longer tube. More pigmented. Still smooth but less so. #1 Goddess Beige: a peachy dusty rose with almost gray undertones. Out of the aforementioned, this is the most versatile for all undertones! Used often on a zoom call or work meeting. 🤍🤍🤍 #2 Vintage Ginger: similar to #1, but redder with some brown notes. More suited for warms. 🤍🤍 #5 Dusky Orange: probably the boldest Orange-red lip tint I’ve ever owned. A tiny bit goes a long way. 🤍 #15 Cinnamon Coral: a orange-y coral. Love it- reminds me of #6 and 7 from 2017 line. 🤍🤍🤍 🥂

HOW TO: wake up looking like a glazed donut ✨
GOOD MOLECULES - Overnight Exfoliating Treatment Contains 10% (Glycolic Acid) AHA+ BHA. This is the second product I’m testing from Good Molecules and I’m loving it already. This is my first experience with a leave-on “sleep mask” version of glycolic acid (the smallest form of AHA). And seriously people, I WOKE UP GLOWING IN A GOOD WAY. I wanted to chuck all my glossier products out the window and triumphantly announce that I solved the glowy but not oily skin look that no makeup has ever done for me. I have a few layering tweaks I wanted to share for those looking to add this step into your routine! TLDR; pore-shrunken glazed 🍩 look for $6. scroll down for layering steps. 😅 Conceptually, incorporating a GA solution into my night routine 2-3x per week is the best way to use GA without drastically changing my current ritual. While glycolic acid toners work have worked great as well, I notice my skin is way more sensitized throughout the day and susceptible to sun damage. I just don’t want to run the risk of forgetting to reapply sunscreen ☀️ every few hours, you know? Especially if you have dry/combo skin, the following layering technique may be of use to you. Starting with dry or freshly cleansed skin I add: (1) Any hydrating toner. I used the niacinamide toner from Good Molecules but if you have sensitive skin I’d opt for one without vitamin C or other actives. GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Brightening Toner I'm from - Rice Toner dear, klairs - Supple Preparation Facial Toner (2) Any mild peptide serum or essence. But no crazy actives like retinol or the true form of vitamin C ascorbic acid (I used one with the SAP derivative which was ok). If you normally add oils to this step, I would skip until the end. An oil ester like jojoba oil may be okay. Bottom line is to use something your skin finds familiar but comforting. The Ordinary - ''Buffet'' The Ordinary - Marine Hyaluronics GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Serum (3) THE Glycolic Acid/AHA-containing treatment. Feels like thick serum. I used one droppers’ worth, going heavier on my t-zone. This one from Good Molecules contains Glycerin, HA, and Butylene Glycol, gold standard humectants that need more moisture to lock in its hydrating benefits!! Especially if you just used another hylauronic acid-containing serum in the previous step, the treatment as a final step can leave you feeling dry. GOOD MOLECULES - Overnight Exfoliating Treatment (4) Wait 3-5 min to add a gel moisturizer or hydrating spray-on mist. Feed those humectants! Really anything works here. I used MUJI’s all-in-one essence. I just wouldn’t go too creamy or heavy. VERSED - DEW POINT Moisturizing Gel-Cream dear, klairs - Fundamental Ampule Mist The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA Lmk if you try this! Cheers to looking like a glazed donut 🥂
☕️ Lover’s 💭 on GM Hydrogel vs TO’s Caffeine 5%
HONEST FEMME FINDS: I TRULY wanted to love this product. I have puffy eye bags and dark circles exacerbated by allergies and poor sleep. In life, caffeine is my best friend but not so much under my eyes, even temporarily. I’m still on the search for a good treatment for my dark circles that’s not just a thicker moisture in a tiny tube. Read more for a review of Good Molecules Hydrogel (1% caffeine) vs. The Ordinary’s 5% Caffeine Solution! GOOD MOLECULES - Caffeine Energizing Hydrogel Eye Patches FIRST IMPRESSIONS: just upon opening the box, I noticed that the tub is a bit smaller than I expected, but the colors are so fun! Still has a sleek minimalist feel to it. The individual hydrogels are soaked but not drenched in solution which can be a good or bad thing, depending on your preference. I noticed that after 10 minutes on the eye, the serum on the gels were essentially used up. USE: To test the effectiveness of the gel, I only tested one eye at a time for a side by side comparison. The coolness of the gel should vasoconstrict the under eye area but I unfortunately didn’t notice much of a difference at all. After 15 min, there was no change in color of my circles. I did notice an decrease in puffiness throughout the day but nothing drastic. Nothing a plumping, soothing face gel couldn’t do! SIMILAR TO: The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG the viscosity of this solution really reminds me of TO’s version, which I used regularly for a couple months! Both sit sticky on the face and pills upon touch, the hydrogel serum less so. I didn’t notice a huge difference with TO’s serum either but it is 5% (caffeine is the 2nd ingredient) versus these hydrogels (only 1%, caffeine as the 5th ingredient). The gels actually have niacinamide > caffeine! So if you’re looking for niacinamide in your mask, Good Molecules would be a better choice. PRICE: $18 for 60 gels (30 pairs) which I think is a fair price for hydrogels. The Ordinary serum, however, gives a lot more product for a third of the price ($6.70). I won’t be repurchasing either as I haven’t had any personal success with caffeine and now I’m really wondering how much 1% (or even 5%) would actually do. I’m getting ready to soak my used hydrogels in my leftover coffee, tbh! Cheers to caffeine, life’s greatest elixir ☕️!

A Zoom Patient Encounter ft Glossier’s Niteshine
HONEST FEMME FINDS: It’s the end of the academic year which means our final series of mock-patient encounters. Only one more year until we start rotating through the hospitals (kind of glad I slipped through the COVID-19 mess)! During these patient encounters, patient actors interact with students through Zoom, and we do get graded on a scale of 1-5 how professional and clean we look! After a month of barely leaving the house and putting on makeup, I figured today was my perfect chance to try out my bulk order from Glossier. The play highlighter in Niteshine has been one of the few new products that’s stood out to me. Here are some of my thoughts. Glossier. - Niteshine COLOR: ultra pigmented highlighter with heavy pink/rose undertones. A little pigmented for an everyday office look but adds a perfect amount of depth over a blurred MacBook webcam during a zoom call. Can easily make it an everyday highlighter if used lightly. APPLICATION: applicator looks like a lipgloss wand. I normally just use my finger, dab the tip and apply with my hands. The wand does come in handy if I want to line my nose or lower waterline. PRICE: I bought this in a set and on sale but it normally retails for $20 a piece, again like many glossier products, a bit pricey for the amount they give you (0.34 fl Oz). I’d say still worth it for how quickly it’s made it’s way into my light makeup routine! Before this, I solely used the NYX liquid illuminate for years and years.

Moisturizer With The Coolest Texture
The Super Hydrate Moisturizer was one of those products I initially bought because the name drew me in. Nonetheless, I ended up loving this moisturizer. My favourite aspect of the moisturizer is the texture (swipe to see the texture). It has a jelly-like texture that feels lightweight and soaks in almost immediately to deeply hydrate the skin. This moisturizer is infused with squalane, niacinamide, snow mushroom and vitamin E.

Why You Need Niacinamide In Your Life Right Now
Ingredient Breakdown - Niacinamide Edition 🖤 Niacinamide is my absolute favorite skincare ingredient absolutely everyone can benefit from. Benefits: Regulates Oil Production Reduces Redness/Inflammation Treats Hyperpigmentation Reduces Fine Lines and Wrinkles Protects Skin From Environmental Aggressors Personally, my skin type is dehydrated yet oily skin with post acne hyperpigmentation and redness/inflammation. This has done wonders for evening out my skin tone and reducing a lot of the redness in my skin. I recently stopped using it for 8 day’s now to try something else out and it made me realize how much it kept my redness at bay. It also has really regulated my oil production which in turn has made my pores appear smaller (because excess oil isn’t constantly being clogged). I use the GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Brightening Toner daily, followed up by the GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Serum , and then I use the CeraVe - Eye Repair Cream (which contains niacinamide to help with dark circles) and I have really seen it’s brightening affect and oil control properties. I’ve been using it for at least half a year now if not longer but you should start to see some results in 6-12 weeks. It’s something you really need to be using daily. For its protection and anti wrinkle properties literally everyone can use this product but if you have enlarged pores, acne, hyperpigmentation and/or oily skin this will absolutely be your best friend. If anyone watches Skincare by Hyram on YouTube he talks about this a lot. It’ll regulate your oil production therefor excess oil will not be produced and clog the pores (which paired with weekly exfoliation will help reduce acne). While it’s doing that it’s brightening properties will help even out the skin tone and address any post acne hyperpigmentation and inflammation.

Great Gentle Cleanser For Redness
THE inkey LIST - Oat Cleansing Balm My first Cherie post! Hi! I’m not usually a balm person because they are often too heavy and leave a film on the skin, but this one emulsifies into a milky consistency, which is becoming a trend with balms. It’s the perfect first step in double-cleansing, helping to break up your makeup and get rid of dirt and pollution from the day. Oat is a natural anti-inflammatory ingredient so it’s great for people with sensitive to dry skin and everything in-between There’s so much product and it’s only $10! Use it alone or as the first step in your double-cleanse Anyone observing stay at home orders seems to be dealing with dryer skin than usual, and it’s probably because their skin is being subjected to the air in their homes all day. Heat and AC can suck the moisture out of your skin. Invest in a humidifier and use emollient products.
