TJ’s Antioxidant serum: ALWAYS repurchasing
Looking for a cheaper antioxidant serum than whatever you’ve been using? Look no further. We’re talking less than ten bucks here. It contains ingredients like retinol, vitamin c, vitamin a, and other things linked with anti-aging. I use it mostly on my forehead, which is quite oily, as this doesn’t feel greasy. I don’t use it every day/night, but throw it into my routine when I’ve had a makeup-free day and don’t feel the need for one of my more expensive products. Cons are that the bottle ain’t so pretty - in that respect, you get what you pay for. I’m not a huge Trader Joe’s skincare fanatic in general, but I tried this product as I heard it was a dupe for some of the bigger names. It doesn’t let down!

Real Barrier Active-V Lifting Ampoule PRODUCT INFO: Elastic Energy Ampule Gives youthful liveliness to stressed out skin. High concentration ampoule containing 1000 ppm of Idebenone (NOTE FROM ME: This is a super new ingredient to be used in skincare. Idebenone is an antioxidant that protects cells from environmental damage, improves the appearance of fine lines, reduces dryness, and smooths skin texture. Studies show that Idebenone is more powerful in preventing cell damage than Vitamin C and Vitamin E.) 10 different forms of Hyaluronic Acid form tight water film. MY THOUGHTS: I have only just received so I can't give much of a review. It is a serum. A light herbal scent that does not linger. It is a small tube and I can’t see it lasting long enough for me to really reap the benefits of this but we will see. It left my skin feeling tacky. Even an hour after using. I will continue to use it and do an update (if I remember and don't have any other reviews that I need to stop using it for). Retails for $25.00 on stylekorean.com.
Good Molecules Hyaluronic Acid
I really really enjoy this product. Super lightweight, NOT STICKY, great serum consistency (it isn’t viscous), absorbs quickly, and really does it’s job of attracting moisture and locking it in. The result is plump, hydrated skin. I highly recommend this product and Good Molecules as a whole brand. Affordable and effective. This product is only $6 for 1oz, so if you are interested in trying a good hyaluronic acid, try this one! 5/5 🌟
Bird spit for skin? Elizavecca CF Nest 97% Serum
This is my night serum and I’ve been using it for about five months now and I throughly enjoy it though I think it was better for me in the summer since I need more hydration now. This serum has a very light and watery gel consistency and absorbs easily into the skin. It adds moisture to my skin without making me oily. It also gives me a beautiful bouncy look to my skin that overjoys me! I do notice that my skin looks more lifeless on the lazy days I skip my routine. This product contains 97% protein rich EGF from Swiflet birds nests that they make with saliva. Now yes, this does sound gross but the there are benefits to this kind of EGF and there are no pieces of nest in the serum and only abandoned nests are used to not harm the birds. According to the klog EGF is great for wrinkle improvement, hydration, pigmentation prevention, and this particular type of EGF is high in proteins that stimulate cell growth and help skin elasticity. I love this product the only thing that makes me sad is the fact that it contains a perfumed scent to it which isn’t good for dry skin girls.
I was pretty psyched when stratia got in touch with the news that they had an innovative new water-less Vitamin C serum! Vitamin C in its acidic form, ascorbic acid, is extremely effective, but because it oxidizes quickly when in a water-based formula, vitamin C serums generally have a short shelf life of about 3 months or less. If you've ever had a Vitamin C serum turn dark orange, it has oxidized and won't be helpful to your skin anymore. The innovation of Stratia's formula lies in the silicone base. Stratia has found a way to make a creamy, light, silky, lotiony serum base that feels feather light on the skin, and evaporates almost immediately to leave little to no residue, leaving only the good stuff, Vitamin C, behind. This formula includes 10% ascorbic acid and 5% ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate, an oil soluble form of vitamin C that is gentle yet effective. I've been using the Stratia C + C Serum for about a week and first impressions are very good. It really does evaporate very quickly, and I'm able to apply other products on top of it without issues (no pilling). I get a slight tingling but less than with other vitamin C serums I've tried (and I've tried a lot). The best thing is, this is shelf-stable for a full year! I don't use vitamin C every night, so this gives me the flexibility to actually use up a whole bottle before it oxidizes. And for me, the fact that it's 10% ascorbic acid instead of 15-20% is a plus -- less likely to irritate. It's hard to tell in a week, but I do feel that there has been some slight brightening! Excited to try it longer!
Timeless Skin Serum
Although I’m still in my 20’s, my mom always told me to start using anti aging products early on. I was recently gifted this Timeless Skin Serum by Erno Laszlo (5/5 stars). You use this serum morning and night after cleansing and toning, and allow it to absorb completely into the skin as part of your hydration routine. This serum claims to target the signs of aging by harnessing powerful natural actives while improving skin tone, texture, and precious moisture. For me, especially in the winter time, moister is super important for my skin as it often becomes dry. I noticed results from this product within a few uses. However, for a 1.7 fl. oz. package, $150 is a very steep price point. I personally would not purchase this due to that fact alone. That being said, if you have the money to spend on skincare, this product works wonders.
Nuria was founded by Naomi Furgiuele, a 15-year Johnson & Johnson veteran who was part of their R&D team. She wanted to develop globally-curated skincare products and creating a community of women to share global beauty wisdom and so a portion of the brand’s sales are dedicated to a non-profit called She’s the First to improve high school graduation rates. The philosophy behind the brand is using ingredients passed down from generations that are known to be effective for certain skin conditions. You know my obsession with ginseng and herbs so when I saw that this line had ingredients such as ginseng, rooibos red tea, and carrot seed oil from Asia, I got so excited. Also check out the beautiful drawing moomooi Meredith made for me using their signature ingredients!! The serum is definitely my absolute favorite and I love how this clear texture just sinks into your skin. It’s formulated carrot seed oil derived from Asia to help fight free radicals, rooibos red tea to reduce appearance of wrinkles, and sodium hyaluronate that gives the bouncy texture and intense hydration. The eye cream is formulated to mulberry root to even out skin tone, ginseng root for anti-aging, and other powerful vitamins and antioxidants to combat free radicals and restore moisture.
