beautiewithjenIf highly suggest going to their website and researching the best options. I personally always add HA directly after washing and on damp skin. Then follow up with Niacinamide and the Ascorbic Acid, allowing each one to fully absorb before adding the next. At night, I’d add the retinol serum in place of the ascorbic acid. Again, please see their website for the best use. The Inkey List is also great at helping on how to layer the products

2019-2020 skincare journey!
Hey girl hey! This is my first post on the Cherie app and I am so excited to share my skincare journey. Sis when I tell you it was a journey... girl. It was THE journey. My oily/acne prone skin and acne scars and I have been through it. We still have our days here and there. (Thanks Covid for making “maskne” a thing. 🙄) But we are FINALLY in a good place now. 😂 I’m excited to share my ride or die products with all y’all! Cleanser: URBAN SKIN Rx - Even Tone Cleansing Bar : Thank you tik tok for introducing me to this product! This overall is a great cleanser. It makes my skin feel squeaky clean after every use and I honestly think it has helped with my dark spots. However I give this 4 out of 5 stars just because I’ve been using it for a while and I miss gel/liquid cleansers. I’m thinking about switching to La roche or Cerave once this runs out. Morning toner: Glossier. - Solution Exfoliating Skin Perfector I LOVE THIS TONER! I use this in the morning and has been a ride or die for me. Love the light pink packaging however the pump can be a little hard to use just cause it can spray everywhere if you cover the pump too much. But this toner has been a favorite of mine and will be a part of my skincare routine for a long time. Night toner: The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ OBSSESSED. If I could use this in the morning, I totally would. But my skin would hate me so I reserve her for my nighttime routine. This toner is a GAME CHANGER FOR ME. I used to use my witch hazel toner and I regret those days. 😓 But I’m so glad I made the switch. This has helped with my acne and acne scars. 100% recommend to add to your routine! Morning serum: The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% : A vitamin C serum that finally works for me!!! I love using this as a serum for my morning routine. I’ve tried so many vitamin C serums including ones from the ordinary and this is the only one that has worked! THE inkey LIST - Caffeine Eye Cream : Eye bags who? This magic trick eye serum makes me look like I’ve had a good night sleep. The trickery of this eye serum? Sis. Buy this and thank me later. Nighttime serums: The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% : ❤️ I call this serum my ol’ reliable. I love this serum so much that I bought the big boy bottle. The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 : Another ol’ reliable serum. Get this serum for your own good. THE inkey LIST - Retinol Serum : I use this twice a week and i can say bye Felicia to future wrinkles. THE inkey LIST - Vitamin B, C, and E Moisturizer : there’s a reason why this is sold out on Sephora. Buy it now. These products have transformed my skin for the better. If y’all want to see a in-depth skincare routine, let me know in the comments below!!

Review my AM routine!
Hello friends! I’m new here :) Figured some good opening posts would be sharing my AM and PM routines and asking for recommendations! My skin is notoriously dry and acne-prone. Throughout high school and my first couple years of college I struggled with acne and texture problems like little bumps and dry, flaky patches. Throughout the past year, though, I’ve put a lot of effort into finding products I love that help with these issues. I’m still developing my routines, but this is what I’ve been doing for about a month now and the results have been SO incredible! Keep scrolling for a look at my morning routine: 1. Cleanse - TULA SKINCARE - The Cult Classic Purifying Face Cleanser I love this cleanser in the morning because it doesn’t strip my skin at all and leaves me feeling so clean 2. Serum - PEACH & LILY - Glass Skin Refining Serum I got this in my Allure Beauty Box a couple months ago and immediately added it to my routine. After a few weeks, I tried to simplify my routine and took this out, but noticed my skin wasn’t nearly as glowy during the day. I added this serum back to my routine and the difference was apparent after just a couple of days. I love this serum because it makes my skin so dewy without being too heavy 3. Moisturize - belif - The True Cream Aqua Bomb Aloe Vera I was hesitant to buy this after being obsessed with belif’s moisturizing bomb for months. I didn’t think the gel formula would be worth anything compared to the thicker formula of the moisturizing bomb. I decided to add it to my morning routine because the gel isn’t as heavy and I boost the moisturizing power by mixing in a couple drops of The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 before applying. I love that the formula is so light and takes so well to my additions. I also add in The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% or The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% if I notice a breakout or dark spots 4. Sunscreen - ORIGINS - Ginzing SPF 40 Energy-Boosting Tinted Moisturizer I absolutely love this tinted moisturizer. I have very fair, sensitive skin and I love the blurring effect the faint color in this gives my skin. The scent is a little strong at first, but it looks good enough for that to not be an issue And that’s how I keep my skin glowy, moisturized, and protected during the day! Stay tuned for my PM routine coming soon!

Newbie Skincare Routine! Any advice?
So, i've recently had an awakening when i realized that i was slowly (yet, quickly) approaching my 30s (turning 27 in October). Figured, now is a good time to start taking care of my skin and tbh, just had my two kids and it'll feel nice to pamper myself now. I've started dipping my toes into the skincare world quite recently and have done so by watching Skincare by Hyram, Susan Yara, and reading up on all sorts of skincare junkie pages. So far, i've learned the basics and am attempting to incorporate more "serious" products (serums and treatments) into my skincare routine (which was just cleanser, toner, vit c, moisturizer, spf and the ocassional mask). First thing's first: i have oily combo skin. Not acne prone, just the ocassional pimple now and then. I also live in Ontario and have kids under two and workout 3x/week. So that pretty much tells you my state and environment. So i've pretty much laid the whole routine out out in my chart (hehe sorry, i love charts). I had to do it since it was so intimidating to begin with specialized products. I haven't used the REN or Laneige masks, or the TO retinol yet, but am going to this week. Been using the Thayer's tone, SPF and complex 15 for about 3 months now and they've been fine. Everything else has been used twice. My issues are probably an oily Tzone, larger pores and uneven skintone. I'd love any tips, advice or Feedback! Thx!

First Impression Review: CeraVe SA Cleanser 🧼
Okay I finally got my hands on this cleanser! I always talk about how my hormonal acne is awful and flares up time from time so now I’m working on prevention. I got this from target for $11.99. It’s also at Walmart & online at Ulta ($13.99). I have combo skin and this is marketed for “Normal Skin”. Highlights: SA=Salicylic Acid: BHA CREW ! This is a HG ingredient for treating acne! Its made from willow bark (bark from willow trees used in medicine since forever) and has many healing properties. This ingredient is “oil-soluble”, which means it’ll penetrate your skin lipid barrier (sorry I love science). This penetrates your skin and absorbs oil & dirt, as wells as, exfoliates. Fragrence free: for my sensitive skin lovelies Vitamin D: great for age prevention, antimicrobial, antibiotic, & anti—inflammatory (all great for acne) Non-Comedogenic: doesn’t clog pores. I used this for the first time tonight and my skin was like whew! I have combo skin currently, oily in my t-zone and dry around my cheeks and mouth and this really got my dry spots DRY! I have a few spots on my cheek and forehead that I’m looking to get rid of so I’ll see how it goes. I did replace moisture in my skin 🌙 Routine: Cleanse CeraVe - Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skin Tone PAULA'S CHOICE - Enriched Calming Toner Serum The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Eye Cream SKINCEUTICALS - A.G.E. Eye Complex for Dark Circles(will be reviewing this soon!) Moisturize CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion Cliganic - 100% Rosehip Oil ** I might use dr. brandt - Hydro Biotic Recovery Sleeping Mask is my skin feels dry before I actually go to bed** I’m only going to do this routine 2-3xs a week!

New addition to my night routine
So far I have only used this product for a little less than a week, but I am already seeing results. Of course, only time will tell if this product will make a lasting effect on my skin. The first few nights I experienced some purging, but after that, the product seems to calm any inflammation overnight. I did decide to eliminate The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%. I wasn’t loving the way it felt on my skin and couldn’t tell if it was truly doing much. I thought since my face wash CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skinand night moisturizer CeraVe - Skin Renewing Night Cream both have niacinamide that the ordinary was a bit unnecessary. We’ll see how my current PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Azelaic Acid Boosterand PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA (Salicylic Acid) Liquid Exfoliatorcombination works. 🙏🏼🤞🏼

Review my PM routine!
Keep scrolling for a look at my nighttime routine: 1. Cleanse - LUSH Sleepy Face | Naked Cleansing Balm ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I love this cleansing balm. Not only is its little face so cute, its smell is so soothing and it is incredible at dissolving makeup. It’s essentially just... oils, so it’s also very moisturizing and doesn’t strip my skin. I usually just use this to cleanse because I don’t wear any makeup 95% of the time, but if I do have a full face on I’ll use a gel cleanser first to get as much makeup off as possible 2. Exfoliate - The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA This was one of the first products that absolutely transformed my skin. I used to be a diehard exfoliating scrub user, but the upgrade to chemical exfoliation was... life-changing 3. Moisturize - belif - The True Cream-Moisturizing Bomb I bought this moisturizer for the first time over a year ago and didn’t realize what I had until months later. Now I don’t think I’ll ever stop repurchasing! I love that the formula is thick and creamy to keep my skin extra hydrated during the night. It also is a great base to mix in The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 if I’m feeling extra dry 4. Treatments - The Ordinary - Retinol 0.5% in Squalane + The Ordinary - Amino Acids + B5 I alternate using these two products from The Ordinary most nights. I’m just 21, so I’m not too obsessive about the retinol and just use it whenever I remember. The amino acids are great for maintaining my moisture barrier, but can also be irritating if I use them too often or too heavily. Another product I pretty much just use whenever I think of it 5. Eyes - belif - Moisturizing Eye Bomb + The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG This is the newest addition to my routine. I was hesitant to add caffeine because my under eyes aren’t really puffy... at all... so I didn’t think I needed it. Then I learned that it can also help with pigmentation and my under eye circles are dark, to say the least. Haven’t seen results yet, but I’m willing to stick it out and see in a couple months if there’s any improvement And that’s how I keep my skin hydrated and smooth all night! Thanks for reading!

The Ordinary sample Routine
So the main questions I have come across with The Ordinary products is HOW to use them? It may seem like buying a bunch of different bottles is excessive BUT with The Ordinary products it is meant to be like that. Its a way to customize your skin care routine to best fit your needs and quite inexpensive. This way you use what you need or what your skin tolerates versus buying expensive creams that might contain an ingredient that it not suitable for your skin. So the question is HOW to use it? I too had similar questions and read so much information and blogs. I had a chat with one of their experts regarding a good regimen, considering that the skin tolerates all the ingredients. Two tips to start with is: 1. Test each product individually. Meaning if you but a few different bottles don't use all at once. 2. Wash face thoroughly and pat dry. Sample AM: Niacinamide 10% + 1% Zinc (day on, don't rub) EUK 134% Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG SPF + Moisturizer Sample PM, Option 1: Lactic Acid 10% (or 5% if sensitive) Niacinamide 10% + 1% Zinc (if acne prone) Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG Moisturizer Sample PM, Option 2: Retinol 2% (or your desired Strength) Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG Moisturizer (The expert mentioned that the Retinol could be applylied then followed by the Vitamin C - Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate, IF a few test patches were done, however I think mixing the two is a big No-No, maybe alternate nights) Sample PM, Option 3: Niacinamide 10% + 1% Zinc Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Solution 20% in Vitamin F Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG Moisturizer PM regimens can alternate nights too. The key step on all these steps is Moisturizer! Any brand or type that works well for you is fine, doesn't have to be pricey as long as it is providing moisture. Additionally, let's talk about the famous AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution, this could be used 1x a week, IF you're not sensitive. I find that instead of waiting the full 10 minutes you could do like 5 minutes one time a week or even 1x every 2 weeks and increase the minutes as you continue to use until you're able to leave on for the 10 minutes as instructed. I have tried the above combos slowly and so far it has been great, but what works for one person might not work for another. When in doubt you can always ask an expert through their site. Overall, my FAVORITE product is the Niacinamide 10% + 1% Zinc. It has left my skin super soft and the slight redness I used to have is gone. I have fair skin and I feel this has helped balance out my skin so much. I am not oily at all during the day, and this is a huge deal for me. I live in S. Florida and being oil free during the day is a big win. It also leaves me with a dewy look which just makes me feel great in my skin. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%

🔥Problem with Ordinary’s Niacinamide?🔥
🔥Problem with Ordinary’s Niacinamide?🔥
Hey y’all! Quick post tonight before I go to sleep because I’m curious if anyone else has had this problem. I am over halfway through with my first bottle of The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and have loved it until tonight. A while back, I remember seeing someone’s post about not liking this niacinamide serum because it suds up unlike others. I have never had this problem until tonight. Tonight, I washed my face in the shower and once I got out I began a PM skincare routine, as usual. I applied this niacinamide serum first and noticed in the mirror that it was applying foamy and not soaking into my skin like it usually does. The only thing I can think of is my skin my have been a little bit more damp than usual because this serum was already out in my counter tonight and I reached for it immediately. Maybe I just didn’t let my skin air dry as much as usual. Has anyone else had this issue?
